I mean, who *doesn’t* want to look like they skinned one of their coworkers and made a dress out of it?

    • It puts the lotion on its skin…

      • boweryboy

Or it gets the hose again…

        • Ginny Ellsworth

You people are sick. And I love you for it. This is exactly what I was thinking but not in such non-profane language.

        • E. Sevilla

now put the fucking lotion in the basket.

          please and thank you ๐Ÿ™‚

    • boweryboy

Oh, I just posted something similar. What a dress.

    • tereliz

LOL, my first thought EXACTLY! (actually, my first thought was the she skinned Lena Dunham, but no tattoos, so…)

    • H2olovngrl

no, I can’t…it was wrong of me to even have one of those co-worker’s names pop into my head.

  • The dress that says “I want to be naked, but also show off my butchery skills.”

  • Laurie Landry

    Silly Putty dress!

    • Rebekah B

Exactly what I was going to write.

  • Aldona Dye

    Of course.

  • Glam Dixie

Silence of the Lambs skin dress. That is all I can see.

    • Missy

Lol. I thought of the same thing.

      • Glam Dixie

I’m sure it’s going to be a pretty obvious association for lots of the BK’s. My god that is ugly.

    • schadenfreudelicious

indeed, that is taking flesh toned to a new height..

    • MilaXX

      so glad I’m not alone

    • decormaven

“It rubs the lotion on its skin.” What was she thinking??

      • YoungSally

Oh God — now I am too scared to even turn on the light.

    • jen

      Yep, me too. Horrifying.

  • Missy

It puts the lotion on its skin…so Allison Williams can wear this dress.

I might have preferred a lampshade.

  • Mary Lauer

First thought: Buffalo Bill. Second thought: not even blandly pretty but mute and boring instead. 8-(

  • hughman

I’m impressed how well it matches her skin. I guess SOMEONE got tanning sessions for Christmas.

    • KateShouldBeWorking

      Haha… Tanning…

  • jilly_d

    Jesus Christ. I can’t.

  • teensmom99

    Naked Thursdays!

  • Tricia

That’s so hilariously ugly. Everybody beat me to the skin suit jokes.

  • LeelaST

Darn! I thought I would be the first with the “looks like skin.” OMG awful.

  • kipper

Let’s just accept the fact that nude leather is something we are going to do/live with …. a stretch , I know – but given that, the sin here is the nothing shoe to go with the flesh colored nothing dress… give us something to work with !!!

    • PastryGoddess

I will never accept the nude leather trend. Someone needs to set the factories who make that stuff on fire

    • JulieTy

Well . . . not everyone has the same color flesh (which is why Crayola changed the name of its “Flesh” crayon to “Peach”). I agree that this is LITERALLY a horror movie of a dress on Ms. Allison. It might be all kids of fabulous on Ms. Lupita, though.

    • marlie

I don’t know if I’m willing to just accept the trend, BUT if a ladystar is going to go that route, agree that there needs to be SOMETHING else with some visual interest. That applies for any plain, adornment-free, neutral-colored dress.

  • Laura Renee

Why the fuck would she think this flatters her? I want to notice how pretty her make-up is, but…the “dress” is too horrible. Gaaaaaaaah.

  • annabelle archer

It’s the prim and prissy version of Miley’s MTV Awards outfit. Even with the ass not hanging out, flesh colored leather is gross.

  • Isana Leshchinskaya

love the makeup but did she skin jemima kirke for the dress?

  • MilaXX

Oh honey no! It Put’s the Lotion in the Basket. Flesh colored leather is all kinds of wrong & gross.

  • cocohall

I am trying to picture this in a color, and sadly, things take a turn for the worse. It would need to be fitted to her body. And I’m afraid the stretch trim around the neck and armholes would look even more cheap. I’m thinking this is a dress for Lucy Liu or Viola Davis or Angela Bassett. IF one of them needed a dress to wear to meet with her business team. No bueno for any red carpet.

  • Trickytrisha

Ewww. It looks like Naugahyde in color 502, Coral Sand (or possible Lightly Tanned Human).

T Lo’s question to Michelle Dockery yesterday “Who wants a skin-colored dress?” – obviously Allison does. And I bet she regrets the hell out of that decision right about now.

  • SarahVN

    • rh33

It could have a sheer skirt, granny panties, and and exposed zipper!

      • J. Preposterice

at least then she wouldn’t look like a serial killer, though

        • demidaemon

I don’t know. I think then she would look like a crazy cat lady serial killer. And that is somehow worse.

  • frannyprof

Why is she reviving the Naked Dress.

  • anneland

I’ve always been on her side when photos go up here. She has a style. It is classic and understated. She always looked good. But I can’t get behind this one.

  • Imasewsure

You know… I don’t like this of course but it’s still an interesting stretch for our dear Alison… except the shoes which are the same fricking summer sandals that every starlet in HW is forcing us to look at!! GRRRRR still I can’t hate on this as much as her usual stuff

  • Rand Ortega

The beige wearing the beige. It’s like she isn’t wearing anything. If that lipstick wears off, someone will knock her down because they didn’t see her.

    • DamiaRain

Oops – just LOL’ed and got ~a look~ from my office mate! ๐Ÿ™‚

But seriously! “If that lipstick wears off, someone will knock her down because they didn’t see her” <– so true!

  • Band Aid makes dresses now?

  • boweryboy

Yikes. It looks like her dress was made out of her skin.

  • Tracy_Flick

Holy shit, that’s horrific. Silence of the Lambs is the first thing I thought of too. I’m astonished that she chose that dress, given that other dresses exist in the world. She’d be better off with a cheap floral thing from the mall.

    • Darcy H

Right? At least with most other ugly dresses the question of homicidal tendencies doesn’t come up.

  • rh33

And from the Ed Gein winter collection….

  • Sarah

She’s usually booooring. At least this incites comment? Creepy flensing nightmares? This is one, big, skin-flute middle finger for those who thought she was too tame.

    • marlie

Still too tame, to me, without a hint of color in sight.

      • Sarah

Oh yeah, it’s really boring. My thought was that the hideous horror visions in invokes were at least spicy ๐Ÿ˜‰

  • rloliveira

She’s so beautiful, but why would she wear that dress?

  • MissKimP

    Silly putty dress

  • Pennymac

Gosh, her makeup is pretty. And I love me some Calvin. But the immaculate match of the leather to her actual skin tone is beyond weird. Plus, naked shoes.

  • Lisa M. (ReVoir) Kramp

Did she roll over in bed this morning and munble, “If I have to wear clothes today, I want to look as nude as possible?”

  • CaTobes

Girl, your dress matches your skin color. No. If Carrie could barely pull off The Naked Dress, then you sure as hell can’t.

  • SugarSnap108

“Tell me, Clarice – have the lambs stopped screaming?”

  • elemspbee

I almost like the optical illusion–where does the skin end and the dress begins?

  • kimmeister

Uhhhhh . . . her makeup looks pretty. That’s all I can add about that.

  • ‘Becca’lise Deveaux

    Goodbye hooorrrrrsessssss…!

  • Richard

i’m yawning forever. This is so awkwardly boring.

  • I kid you not but it honestly looks like she’s wearing a sheer dress or no dress at all. Stand about 5-10 ft away from your screen. Try it.

    • conniemd

I had to do a double take on that because the top part looked sheer at first glance.

  • rebeemoon

Let’s go shopping for dresses that match our skin tones! C’mon, it’ll be fun!

  • Maluca

All I see are hair, lips and shoes.

  • alyce1213

On a woman of color, this would be merely boring. On her it’s monumentally ridiculous. Apart from the fleshy color, it doesn’t even fit.
    What was she thinking?

  • pookiesmom

  • az67

Not a huge fan of the dress but her face looks AMAZING.

  • marlie

I yawned so hard I think I sprained my jaw. We all know she’s bland, but this look is so bland (the color of the dress? the hair? the shoes?) that she’s practically invisible.

  • marlie

HOLD UP. The leather is only on the front of the dress?! (See the first of the smaller pictures). CK could only commit to HALF a skin dress?

  • Jacob Bowen

Without that edging and seaming I would have assumed she was naked and had a lumpy body.

  • SewingSiren

  • demidaemon

Way to make a leather dress boring. YAWN.

  • jw_ny

she should be arrested for public indecency…oh wait, she’s not naked….well, arrest her for high crime against fashion then…

  • quiltrx

She’s so boring that she’s rendered her style choices INVISIBLE!

  • lifeisastory

This was a very bad idea.

  • MannahattaMamma

omigod clarice the lambs are screaming…isn’t it against the law to wear clothing made from human skin?

  • NO NO NO. Agh. Why. I swear, my first thought was “She looks like a nipple.” I don’t know why, but that’s what it was. And not in a sexy way. In a milk-bottle type way. Why would you wear this and then think “This doesn’t need any accessories”? Why? Why? This dress is upsetting me. Agh.

  • bertkeeter

And of course her stylist puts black heels with thisโ€ฆ? Also it’s a size too big and the length is not working AT ALL!

  • nannypoo

I haven’t watched Girls so I really have no opinion about her and I’ve wondered why everyone is so hard on her, but then I saw this.

  • bingo

She looks great for a 42 year old. Oh, wait, she’s how old?

  • thecitysleeps

I admit I love Allison. I think she does a good job on Girls and she’s beautiful and I usually like her more demure, classic looks. This is ugly though. I like the silhouette of the dress but it’s too big and the colour (if you can call it that) is horrendous. It looks like prosthetics she still has on her in the form of a dress. And I’m so over sandals where you can see every toe gasping for help. Over it.

  • The best bit is that CK put that ribbing around the neck and arms – so this would actually be quite comfy. But on this lady star he should have made her a nice chocolate brown one, and send this one to Miss Lupita.

  • E. D.

I don’t mind the dress (not sure why), but it needs better shoes.

  • Diego!

Is she naked?? WTF is this?? Girl, no, no, no!

  • Badriya Al-Badi’a

    Dress by Ed Gein.

  • KarenBSB

    I like her makeup though

  • Ashley Ellen Wilson

It’s like she TRIES to be as nondescript and bland as possible.

  • BrooklynBomber

I’m thinking you had to be there.

  • Nancer

Looks like someone took notes from “Silence of the Lambs” and made herself a girl suit…. Yes, I did, I went there. ETA: and now that I scroll down, I see I’m not the only one! It can’t be good if there is a collective initial response to a dress that calls to mind a serial killer….

  • Alexis Boucher

It’s kind of how Barbie looks with no clothes on.

  • crash1212

I love the idea of this dress – it’s simple, chic but not boring…unless you wear it in a flesh tone. She’s almost disappeared herself. I do think her head looks great and all those choices work for the style of this dress. But seriously, a color needed to be deployed here.

  • Bernadette

    Naked much…

  • wisdomy

    Of ffs.

  • Hilda Elizabeth Westervelt

Skin dress, from Buffalo Bill’s holiday collection.

  • KinoEye

โ€œFor instance, Jack taught me not to wear tan slacks with a tan turtleneck. I thought it looked nice, but he, rightly, pointed out that it made me look like a giant condom.โ€

  • I like the dress, just wish it weren’t the color of silly putty (because now all I’m going to think about is being wrapped in silly putty all day. Yuck.) And it’s refreshing to see someone in something slightly big (not offensively big to my eye) rather than deathly tight.

  • Bradio311

Were you all “we just CAN’T with this one!?”

  • ThaliaMenninger

I know it’s disgusting but I can’t get out of my head that Jame Gumb made this dress. Shuuuddder.

  • Gatto Nero

The blandness of Calvin Klein suits her.

  • and allison williams came dressed as a bandaid.

  • kategs

hmm. I think I am the only one here who likes this! She looks chic and happy.

  • WalkingNPR

Looks like a human dress form. I expect some harried Project Runway contestant to start draping fabric all over her any minute.

  • sunflower

Her makeup looks great at least. This dress could be killer on a woman with darker skin

  • Er, nice makeup.

  • lrhoff

I like this. Very appropriate for a breakfast — subdued and elegant.

  • RuthGo

Why is that not a color? Any color, really.

  • CT14

    I hate this.

If the leather were another color, it could have been fab.

  • amaranth16

The only person alive who could make Buffalo Bill-chic boring instead of creepy.

    • amaranth16

I had not read any of the other comments when I wrote this, I swear. I guess there was only one conclusion to draw…

  • St. Ace

For a second I seriously thought she was naked and had to quickly Alt+Tab that shiz.

  • Trixie A. Cooper

Great lip stain and that is all.
