Those shoes are the definition of “Needle Scratch Moment”.

      • bellafigura1

        Death by shoes.

      • Danielle

        THIS.

    • Alfred Cox

Ummmm…I like this. She looks WAY TOO MATURE but I think she’s serving up some 1977 disco queen realness and is working it. She just looks like a 35 year old Disco Queen besides a 16-17 year old. A little aging.

      • Karen Belgrad

Same thought… While Gaga was serving up Bianca Jagger arrival realness at the AMA’s, this lil pup was playing Bianca Jagger dress-up!

      • Sam Smith

Agree, although I think I’d like it better without the pants.

    • gabbilevy

This is weird. I think it’s because her hair is mimicking her shirt. With something a little less… Ariel, this look could have been dramatic and different and a win. With the hair, it’s overwhelming.

    • Jen

That’s a scroll down fug if I ever saw one… I was thinking it was a dress and then BAM! awful tunic/pants/shoes…

    • Ginger

Good lord – that hair and those eyelashes…………………………………..

    • tereliz

She’s a gorgeous girl. Love most of the outfit. I’m almost glad I can see her shoes beneath her pantlegs even though they’re hiddy. Is it too old for her, though? I have no idea who she is or how old she is.

But that hair is too much. It’s a weave, right?

      • http://frankbettecenter.org/ sleah_in_norcal

she’s on a disney channel show called “shake it up” with bella thorne. they’re both great dancers and they play dancers on the show. they have a show within the show called shake it up chicago!

      • http://www.GiftedCollector.com/ The Gifted Collector

She almost won “Dancing with the Stars” last season.

    • Sobaika

      UM. WTF HAIR & SHOE??

    • jw_ny

looking at all that metal on her wrist, I imagine she was making quite a racket all evening long. The pink pants were a mistake, but the top is really good on her, especially with her hair.

      • Julie Parr

I don’t think the pants are pink. I think they are a different shade of white than the tunic and the red carpet is reflecting off of them.

        • jw_ny

You are probably right….at least I hope you are right. It’d make it better (not great, just better ;) .) Looking back at some of the other pics, I’m seeing the pinkish reflection in some of the top part too.

    • marlie

Cut about 12 inches off of that hair, and switch out the stripper heels, and this would be a rather fierce look.

Otherwise, I rather like the look, even if it’s a teensy bit too sophisticated for her. But at least she’s not showing off any parts of her body that no one needs to see.

      • Lily

You don’t have to cut. Just pull the extensions out.

    • Adrianna Grężak

This is why your best friend is not qualified to be a stylist

    • Lily

I was totally on board until I saw the shoes. Nope.

    • mjude

have no clue who she is.

      • marlie

She’s from either Disney or Nickelodeon. I only know her because she was on Dancing With the Stars a couple of seasons ago, and was actually a rather fantastic dancer. And she seemed like a sweet kid.

      • MilaXX

another Disney kid trying to transition to grownup

    • imspinningaround

      Crystal Gayle realness.

      • Glam Dixie

At least Crystal Gayle was sporting real hair.

      • http://foodycat.blogspot.co.uk/ foodycatAlicia

Even in the 70s I don’t remember Crystal Gayle’s eyelashes being that awful.

    • lunchcoma

The shoes are terrible and there are a couple of rings that don’t need to be there, but I otherwise think this is a good look. It is a little mature when she’s serious, but the smile makes all the difference.

    • MilaXX

If she had shown a little restraint this could have worked. The stripper heels, 10 extra inches of yaki and waay too many bracelet combined with those horrible spider lashes just ruins the look.

      • Sarah

Well, I was trying to articulate something, but I’m just gonna go with what you said. Cuz, yeah, what you said.

    • Tracy_Flick

Is it me, or are the pants and tunic slightly different shades? I really want to like this, but it’s just not coming together for me. The too-literal 70s hair with plastic-y extensions, the old-lady pants, the horrifically ill-proportioned shoes… I guess I don’t want to like it.

      • Sarah

Yeah, it’s pink pants and a cream tunic.

        • MilaXX

I don’t think it’s pink. I think the color is somehow reflecting off the red carpet and making them appear pink

          • Sarah

How come then the tunic is not pink as well, in the same area as the pants?

            • tereliz

They do look different than the runway pants. Is that a seam down the front instead of a crease? Or trim?

            • Sarah

I looked at the runway, and concluded that these are just not the runway pants. But, mebbe they are white and she just washed ‘em with her red panties, then pressed a seam in them. Who knows…

    • deathandthestrawberry

Palm Beach Socialite in stripper shoes.

    • BigWhiteGrannyPanties

I confess, I loved it until the shoes but the whole look – it’s loose but it still comes off as sophisticated to me. Hair needs a trim but I think she can rock the Crystal Gayle look if she wants to.

    • Lizzy

Ugggg…so obvious where the real hair ends and the fake begins….

    • hughman

Well *someone* has to turn down Marlon Brando’s AMA award.

    • jmorino08

This girl is 16. Disney Channel starlet. Girl. This is not your look.

      • sojourneryouth

I agree. I’m surprised so many people like it, except for the shoes. I think it totally overwhelms her.

      • Trickytrisha

        17 now.

    • Miranda

Oh dear, she looks so hungry. I just wanna feed her biscuits and gravy.

    • princessricky

dang you guys are right about the Cher moment!

    • kimmeister

She has way too much shoulder sticking out of the tunic. It would look better like on the model.

Those shoes are an ankle sprain waiting to happen.

      • MoHub

Just wait until she reaches for a beverage and severs her right arm!

    • Kirstin McAulay

Wow… that is a major run on Claire’s Accessories on that wrist…. All the bangles in one…. every girlie girl’s dream!!

      • BrooklynBomber

I really like John Hardy jewelry, but perhaps they overdid it here, just a little. ;)

    • BrooklynBomber

She looks surprisingly young for this, but I really like it, and the pink pants are better than the all-white version.

    • ashtangajunkie

I would love this if it hadn’t been taken down by lashes and shoes. It’s a bit mature for her, but could have been pretty killer with a couple of better choices.

    • crash1212

Too much shoulder. Too pin-straight-flat hair. Spider leg lashes. Me no likey.

    • MrsDanvers

I think the tunic is just a little bit too big for her, so instead of looking like it’s off the shoulder, it looks like it’s falling off. She’s so pretty and so talented, I would be so proud if I were her parents!

    • Jaeda Laurez

All these youngins just give me a renewed appreciation for J-Lo. Naya, Zendaya, Ariana, They look like they’re playing dressup in her closet. And she effortlessly slays them all.

    • boweryboy

She looks like she got tangled in her bedsheet, and tripped into a pair of stripper heels.

      • Coolekat

        You always make me laugh

    • frannyprof

This just looks dumb. Especially given the fact that she’s practically a fetus.

    • http://twitter.com/irmaladuce_l8ly IrmaLaDuce

Now, this is the hair and outfit you wear to ride in on a white horse.

    • KT

Someone help this woman, she’s meltinggggg!

Also somehow this reminds me of The Ring — where the little girl’s dress, hair, etc is all dragging downwards… probably not what Zendaya was going for.

    • Milos Mom

She is young so I won’t read her on style. BUT, it is not a flattering outfit, she does not know how to work it and the hair is overkill. Next…

    • Trickytrisha

I do like this young woman (girl?) a lot, but wish she’d had some better advice choosing her look for this event. Her makeup is nice and fresh, the outfit questionable, shoes okay, but what bothers me the most is her very long extensions aren’t blending in with her actual hair. Give her time, she’ll grow into her potential.

    • Nika E

Everything is just straight down. The eye just goes from h to t with no visuaI interest in between.

    • Coolekat

T Lo know just how to torture us with their picture placement, don’t they?

    • CeeRich

      Those shoes?????? WHYYYYYYYY??????

    • MightyMarshal

Take the pants off, trade the shoes out and give Remy her hair back. Then we’ll talk.

    • LeelaST

Had to look her up – never heard of her. The whites don’t match, her hair looks dirty up top, and the shoes are tacky.

    • J. Preposterice

      those are some butt-ugly shoes

    • JeanProuvaire

The loooong hair, long pants and huge platforms on her shoes just give the impression that she’s being slowly sucked feet-first into a black hole and elongated in the process.

    • SewingSiren

I’m getting a Cher vibe. And i like it.

      • Fordzo

Cher should have a line of vibrators.

ETA: I”m sitting here thinking of all her hits, and there are so many that could be cleverly altered to be used as names for vibrators.

        • SewingSiren

I know I would buy one.

    • formerlyAnon

Top is too long by a couple of inches (or legs are too short.) Otherwise i kind of like. I’d like it more if the shoes were more ’70s and less stripper.

    • AmeliaEve

Scarlett O’Hara already took the drapes for her dress, so Zendaya had to make her outfit out of the sheets.

    • Mona_Visa

      Our Lady of Spa Retreats.

    • MannahattaMamma

help! my dress is melting right off my body and sliding down my arm!

    • lillyvonschtupp

Alright Cher, hand over the jewelry!

    • quiltrx

It’s all too vertical for me. And summery (there was so much white on the RC last night, wtf?).

    • d4divine

She had me until I saw the shiny hooker shoes.

    • Lily-Rygh

I think this is way too much look for a youngster like Zendaya, but the look itself is KILLA! Well, except for those shoes, which are literal killers.

    • KinoEye

There’s too much. Of everything. Go home, lop off several inches of hair and fabric, and try again, doll.

    • Dagney

That’s an awful lot of extensions, but I like the overall effect of her look. It’s cohesive, well thought out, and stunning.

    • Mary Lauer

Tragic shoes, WAY too many bangles on that arm, and spider legged false eyelashes never did anyone any favors. Besides all that, I like the tunic/pant combo. Kind of the anti-Naya Rivera on the RC for the AMAs!

    • hellkell

This would be a WERQ for me if she’d put on black pants.

    • ewes_urn_aim

Ditch the pants and shoes for thigh-high white boots and it’s a WERQ for me.

      • formerlyAnon

Good idea. And it would make it a more current look.

    • RoseJB

She looks too young for this getup. Looks like something Toni Braxton should wear.

    • Erica Woods Tucker

She’s only 16. I’m not feeling this. She looks like she’ll be doing lines off someone’s bathroom counter in 6 months.

    • guest2visits

She was just awesomely perfect in this – so different, so retro and still modern . I loved it.
