Kristen Bell in Sachin + Babi at the “Frozen” Hollywood Premiere

Posted on November 20, 2013

Gotta love a gal who brings it when she didn’t have to.

Kristen Bell attends the premiere of “Frozen” at El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood, California in a Sachin + Babi dress paired with shoes and clutch by Christian Louboutin and Neil Lane jewelry.

Judging from the pics of the other attendees, this was not a  particularly dressy event. Animated movies rarely are, even when they have a Disney stamp on them. But Miss Kristen clearly didn’t want to do the cazh thing tonight. Not that this is perfect. It’s only barely past “good,” really.  We like the dress, for the most part, and we appreciate how put-together the look is on a whole, considering the nature of the event. But it’s a little on the dull side and it could use a belt, for sure. Not loving the hair and makeup, either.

  • tea length is not the friend of short women.

    • I was going to comment that this length is not her bestie.

      • NYCGlamourpuss

As a 5’3″ shortie-pie myself, yeah, tea length isn’t great for us.

    • She’s usually quite skillful at working with her height, This dress is cute, but I’m suprised she went with tea length, she knows better.

      • MoHub

I’m guessing the length was to show off the detail on the back of the shoes. But I agree; tea length is not her friend.

    • Jackie4g

Is that a raw edge on that organza hem? Eeeuuuuwwww.

      • Katesymae

Totally agree. They probably had to hack the dress at the last minute to fit her frame – or try, as much as one can with tea length on a petite – and didn’t have time to properly finish the job.

        • Rhonda Shore

THe problem isn’t just the length, it’s the whole design, it’s just not flattering.

    • kimmeister

Tea length should also never be paired with ankle strap shoes. Especially on short women!

    • mightbewrong

Honestly, tea length doesn’t do it for me on anybody. It just hits the worst part of the leg possible on even the tallest people.

    • Claudia

Yes, but I love her too much to quibble.

  • Karen Belgrad

I have irrational love for her.
“I genuinely believe and have believed for some time now that we can be best friends. “

    • Shannon Beamer

Completely rational, in my book. I freaking love Veronica Mars (as she will always be to me).

    • Mary229

I love her too. I think she’s extremely talented and cute.

    • pookiesmom

I love her and it’s super rational. Have you seen her sloth clip on Ellen? SPECTACULAR. I feel that we could be bffs if I could just get past her bodyguard…

  • AnguaVonUberwald

I dunno, I think it is rather hideously unflattering. Terrible length.

  • TrixieConQueso

I’ll take the Shoes for a hundred, Alex. Sigh.

  • cocohall

Again with a skirt that could hide the cast of the Nutcracker beneath. Too much volume for such a wee girl. I like the top half.

  • decormaven

The dress cries for a belt. Wish she had turned a little more straight on toward the camera so we could get a full on view of the bodice.

  • MoHub

I wish the bodice had a dipped waist in front, but otherwise, not bad.

  • Darren Nesbitt

    * Puts score card above brow and squints like Nina Garcia*. Is that an unfinished hem?

    • Jackie4g

I asked the same question a few minutes later. Sorry to say, I think it is.

      • conniemd

I asked that myself before reading the comments. Looked like just the cut of the material with no hem. Ugh. May just as well have hemmed the dress at knee length!

  • Nancer

I WANT those shoes! Minions, bring them to me! (Pause.) Oh, right. I don’t have minions. Never mind.

  • nannypoo

I have a roll of that skirt fabric in the garage. I use it in the garden under the landscape mulch. It’s great for preventing weeds.

    • Kathy

      PR unconventional materials challenge.

  • gigi kennedy

the bodice is so pretty & would have looked so pretty with a belt. but the tea length. ugh. just can’t get past it.

  • marlie

It’s a pretty holiday dress, though her hair is a little too casual for it. But I love – LOVE – her shoes. They’d be the perfect addition to my holiday wardrobe.

  • SewingSiren

The skirt looks like it was made out of interfacing.

    • conniemd

Yeah, the bottom of the skirt looks like it was just cut and not hemmed.

  • ballerinawithagun

Just watched her in The Lifeguard, interesting movie and she was great, very brave taking that role.
I know from being a short girl myself that tea length does not work for us.

  • Jaeda Laurez

I need those shoes in my life.

  • amf0001

too much skirt, cheek and eyelashes. Definitely too much eyelashes!

    • mlle

Though somehow, really excellent use of highlighter!

    • kimmeister

I was thinking, less eye makeup, more brow makeup.

  • Jessica Freeman

Needs: belt and different length, preferably knee.

  • Janet B

Love a tea length dress, but so few women can pull it off.

  • E. D.

That length is not really good for anyone.

  • YourLibrarian

It’s a cute dress, but it was made for a taller woman. Being just about 5 feet tall, I know that I have to avoid tea-length dresses unless I want to look like a little kid in her mom’s dress. Her eye makeup bugs, too. I love her, though, and she always brings personality and an innate cuteness to her looks.

  • Erica_Vuitton

    Well hello Stumpy McStumperton!

  • Ann VerWiebe

If a girl wants to dress up and someone is willing to give her a pretty dress, she should do it – every time.

  • filmcricket

Celebrating the post-baby bod and prepping for the Veronica Mars pole dance. Good on ya, gal. Love her.

    • MilaXX

and filming the new season of her series.

      • pookiesmom

        What series?

        • MilaXX

          House of Lies on Showtime.

          • pookiesmom

Oh god, that’s still on? I’ve only seen the pilot. I hope it got better.

          • MilaXX

I believe it’s the 3rd season. I like the show. They were in the news for getting in the middle of a gang fight last week.

          • pookiesmom

Oh good! I’ve wanted Kristen to land on something good for a while. It’s just that I literally watched the pilot of House of Cards in a TV writing class as an example of what not to do, so I had just written the show off completely. I’m glad to hear you’re enjoying it though. It sounds like it may have found its sea legs.

          • MilaXX

Her show is House of Lies, not House of Cards.

          • pookiesmom

Ugh, slip of the fingers. Edited.

          • MilaXX

oh okay. I was getting confused.

  • quiltrx

You’re too short for that dress-ture.
    And you need a belt.

  • MilaXX

I like it. It needs a belt, but that’s my only quibble.

  • I appreciate that she tried to get her Disney Ice Princess on.

  • Danielle

Oh, I don’t know. I like her lip color.

  • I don’t usually love a naked shoe, but I’ll have that pair, thankyouverymuch.

  • LeelaST

That hem looks like a last resort PR scissors decision.

  • Shawn EH

Those eyes! Right colors, wrong proportions in the dress.

  • those shoes are adorable, and she has just the right sassy-cute attitude to strut her stuff in them.

  • melanie0866

I like it. I think it’s really cute.

  • Mona_Visa

    Cutie. 🙂
