Kirsten Dunst in Dolce&Gabbana at the “Anchorman 2” Australian Premiere

Posted on November 25, 2013

Let’s take a short break from the high drama of the American Music Awards and check in on Miss Kiki, who always gives us something to talk about without necessarily looking desperate for attention.

Kirsten Dunst attends the premiere of “Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues” in Sydney, Australia in Dolce&Gabbana.

This is cute. We were going to mention how we’d rather see a dress like this in summer, but then we realized she’s in Australia, making it an unusually season-appropriate dress for a celebrity. Unfortunately, those shoes look like they’re killing her feet. We think a less severe shoe was called for here, not just because we fear she’s going to snap an ankle, but because these shoes are kind of fighting with the sweet vibe of the dress and hair.

Until you get to her ankles, this is adorable.

    • Kristin McNamara

Someone should tell the PR judges that. In last week’s preview for the upcoming episode, there was a clip of someone (can’t remember if Zanna or Isaac or Alyssa) claiming that “no woman over 20 would wear polka dots in public” or some such absurdity. I, and Kiki here, beg to differ.

  • eowyn_of_rohan

That wisp of hair in her eyes is just driving me nuts. Oh, and cute dress.

  • Sarah

I like the dress, but yeah, her feet look like they’re straining to be free from those shoes, and I for one would like to stage a jailbreak for them.

  • gabbilevy

Love all but about an inch of this. Take an inch off those heels, they become much less impossible-looking, and it all wins.

    • ModernDowager

yes, because the shoes are a good color with this, no?

  • MilaXX

This would have been the perfect time for a white shoe.

    • decormaven

Or a red shoe. These shoes were absolutely the wrong choice. Pity.

      • kimmeister

Definitely not a time to deploy a pastel. What the heck!

  • AzSportsGirl

She is the queen of my Irrational. Hate. List.

    • Vermona

Same here! Although I think that in my case, it may be because she reminds me of a work colleague I absolutely can not stand. Also it bothers me that even when she’s smiling, like here, her eyes are just dead, dead, dead.

      • AzSportsGirl

Yes. The eyes. For me she reminds me of a girl from HS who was absolutely VILE. She made the Carrie locker room look supportive.

  • Danielle

Just snip that odious dust ruffle off the bottom and I would be on board.

  • Karen Belgrad

I’d like for her to give Miss Aguilera tips on how to do a defining lash without looking like Tammy Faye.

  • hughman

She was a favorite at the local dive bar “Tip N Holler” where she did an amazing karaoke version of “Bette Davis Eyes” that always got a round of applause from the other secretaries at the Nationwide Insurance office.

    • rh33

      Tequila Sunrises for everyone!

  • She’s looking a lot like Malin Akerman, not that that is a bad thing. I love the dress, but apparently Sydney is quite chilly at the moment, so she needs a cardi.

    • AnaRoW

No one’s who from some place that gets cold (It’s below freezing where I am now) would ever consider 70 degrees to be chilly.

      • Depends what you are used to! My Sydney friends are moaning about how cold it is.

  • Jacob Bowen

Are those shoes as ugly as I think they are (the color?) or is it just because they’re paired with this dress? Also, I’m OKAY with that odd mermaid-y ruffle hem at the bottom ONLY because it adds to the cute-sy look she was clearly going for.

  • Banusk

The fact that the dress is at least a size too small on her is killing it for me.

  • filmcricket

She’s on my irrational hate list, so giant grain of salt, but: dress too tight, shoes all wrong, hair and mug annoying. Go up a size, switch out to a less killer shoe (preferably in red) and make the hair sleeker and we might be somewhere.

  • Lori

This would be better if it was a skosh less tight, yes?

  • I used to really like her, but she hasn’t worked enough lately for me to hold onto that affection. The dress itself is cute, but it’s too tight and giving her less than flattering silhouette. She also looks coked to the gills. Get it together Kiki, you are well on your way to being another Winona Ryder.

    • tereliz

Yup on the “holding my affection”. I used to like her a lot, but the last two things I saw her in were Bachelorette and that horrid Lars von Trier end of the world movie. Hated her in both.

      • Lori

How does von Trier keep getting actresses to work for him?

        • tereliz

Free danish? Seriously, I have no clue. (FTR, Lars, it’s gonna take more than some strudel to get Nicole Kidman back after Dogville)

  • bravobravp

Not to be mean but why is she still around?

    • AnaRoW

Because, while I admit she can be a bit annoying, she’s a good actress. She did take a few years off but she’s been steadily since she came back.

      • Sunraya

I don’t know, this is the first picture I have seen of her where she doesn’t look drunk or stoned.

  • marlie

Cute dress, but wrong shoes. And her hair and makeup are pretty, but casual and a little DIY.

  • Kelly

Too tight, wrong shoes, and she’s looking weirdly like Drew Barrymore.

  • nannypoo

Those are some hideous shoes and I hate her makeup. The dress is nice but it deserved better.

  • tereliz

If it’s so tight the line of polka dots across your belly looks like a bow, don’t wear it.

  • Janet B

Loving the concept, but not the execution.
If the heels were an inch or two shorter, I wouldn’t mind them.

  • mmebam

    LOL, dem shoes, tho…

  • Alfred Cox

Gorgeous dress but the hair and shoes give me nightmares. Kirsten is beautiful, though, and looks great in almost everything. Like this dress.

  • Tatiana Luján

I wish the dress were a little less tight and the heels a bit less high, but I love this look.

  • d4divine

I will praise to high heaven the female celebrities who can show up on a red carpet in a fabulous flat. Ms. Dunst looks like she is gonna fall over…how do they do it? The dress is cute though.

  • BrooklynBomber

Great dress for her. And, yes, cute shoes, but, ouch.

  • NYCGlamourpuss

If she had done a 1940’s inspired pin up type pump, she’d have killed this outfit. She looks gorgeous till you get to those feet hanging on for dear life.

  • MzzPants

Why does she always look like a raggedy kitty to me? And I’m a fan.

  • I rather like this. Sweet, indeed. I love the color ofthe shoes–I think red would have been a very “expected” color choice–but not so much the style. And if I had been her stylist, I’d have put a bunch of plastic red cherries somewhere, perhaps in her hair, or as a pin on one shoulder, or on one hip, to give a little wink to how the dress channels the 1940s.

  • Garcia Loca

What a darling dress! And those earrings — j’adore.

  • ashtangajunkie

Adorable dress, but those shoes have my feet aching in empathy.

  • Call me Bee

Cute dress and these shoes would still be gorgeous at a reasonable height. And more appropriate for the vibe of the dress.

  • BigWhiteGrannyPanties

She looks darling but the shoes don’t go.

  • jw_ny

she looks as if she’s ready to tip over! XD

  • jmorino08

DIY hair and make up on the red carpet? Surely they have stylists in Australia!

  • Carla_Charlton

Love, her, like the outfit, but hate the hair.

  • Tom Robinson

Why does she always look on the verge of tears?

  • anotherkate

Very cute except for the torture shoes, but she strikes me as someone who could always use more blush/contouring. And maybe slightly darker mascara? Her makeup just looks a bit underdone, kind of like when I put on red lipstick and decide that it’s enough (but really it just underscores how underdone the rest of me is…)

  • luluransom

I must be weird, but I love the shoe with this.

    • LaSylphide

You may be weird, but you’re right (IMHO): shoes look great with that adorable dress. 😉

  • Trickytrisha

If her face wasn’t a shade too light and her hair was tidier and her shoes were different this would be close to a WERQ for me. As is, it’s a “looking good, girl”.

  • sunflower

Cute. I like the 50s vibe, but agree on the shoes. Also there’s something weird with her makeup; wrong foundation color or needs blush.

  • Heather

This is cute, but seriously, D&G? Like that (also cute) plaid dress that Christina Hendricks had on the other day, this looks like something I could get for $85 from PinupGirl. Now mind, I love PinupGirl and one of my fave sexy dresses is from there. But I’m sure Kiki’s getup doesn’t cost $85.

  • formerlyAnon

Cute dress, icky shoes and there’s something about the hair, dress and makeup together which are aging her prematurely, in my eyes. Some kind of reverse-style-psychology. Or something.

  • quiltrx

Really cute dress! I don’t care for the shoes, and the hair looks like she just got out of the pool.

  • Lily-Rygh

This is super darling — too bad there’s not a clear shot of the front of it.

Am I just being a bitch, or is it true that women with really thin lips don’t look good is bright/dark lipstick? They always end up looking a little Joker to me, which I assume is not the look our Kiki here, or any other thin-lipped celebrity, is going for…

  • Would have loved a red shoe that wasn’t so deadly.

  • GTrain

    She looks tipsy…

    • manina

I have seen so many actresses on the RC and on stage that do not know how to walk in high heels.

  • manina

Those shoes, minus the small platform, are an exact copy of Christian Dior from 1979, (I still have them, will never throw them away).
