Kelly Osbourne at the Jaguar F-TYPE Coupe Global Debut

Posted on November 20, 2013

Oh, the endless poledance of the non-A-listers. We’re always amazed at their ability to swallow their pride and smile for the cameras at any old event they can get invited to. Not that a Jaguar unveiling is low rent, but we doubt there were many Oscar winners in attendance.

Kelly Osbourne attends Jaguar F-TYPE Coupe Global Debut at Raleigh Studios in Playa Vista, California.

She looks really cute. Knowing how much thought she puts into her fashion and how likely she is to treat it like costume, we’re pretty sure she deliberately went for a “’50s auto show model” look. She should be up on a rotating stage gesturing dramatically as some tailfin-bedecked atomic age monster car gets unveiled.

    • Paige @ LPD

that shirt isn’t sheer enough to be the chic kind of see through.

      • annabelle archer

Yes, it appears accidental, rather than Karen Walker.

      • Sarah

I also hate the neckhole. I think she could have done a bateau and kept the look. As it is, I wanna put a big hook in it and yank it away from her carotid arteries.

        • foodycatAlicia

One of my saddest fashion moments was the realisation that bateau necklines don’t suit me. They make me look huge.

          • Sarah

            Aw. Scoop?

            • foodycatAlicia

              Scoop or not-too-tight crew.

          • kimmeister

They make me look like a linebacker.

          • leftcoastpickle

my EXACT reaction, hate the neckline, so unflattering on her, and I love her, so that hurts me personally.

      • MoHub

Exactly. Needs to be either truly sheer or truly opaque. I personally would opt for the latter.

    • NYCGlamourpuss

It’s very 50s retro, which looks good on her! Still loving the lavendar hair, I’m not ever tired of that!

      • lastminutelucy

Agreed! Every time I see it, I wish mine was that color.

      • Marcella Peek

That’s ok, I’m tired enough of that hair color on her for the both of us.

    • another_laura

The lavender hair has gone on for far too long. Other than that, she looks cute as all get out!

      • Kate Andrews

I heard somewhere that Joan Rivers put it in her contract that she had to wear that hair color so she’d be recognizable. It seems pretty cruel to do that, though!

        • alyce1213

I’ve heard that too, and I suspect it’s to keep her controversial, talked about, as well.

      • barbarienne

I don’t mind the lavender hair in principle, but this particular iteration seems as if she mugged a little old lady for her wig.

        • fursa_saida

I think part of the problem is that her lipstick clashes with it. Really badly, actually. I think if she’d chosen a different color her whole head would look better–her skin looks weirdly gray here.

    • Danielle

I’m pretty done with the purple hair.

    • Qitkat

This is adorable. She hit the nail right on the head for this event.
But are those clip-on artificial bangs? They sure look like it.

      • MilaXX

I’ve noticed she alternates between her own lavender dyed locks and wigs/extensions. Probably to give her hair a break. Long story short, yes the bangs are fake.

      • Madam Von Sassypants

I sadly know the answer to this because I follow her Instagram account. The bangs are real, just meticulous. But she definitely utilizes wigs/extensions in the same color for events and tapings and such.

        • demidaemon

I do appreciate it, though, because she constantly varies her hairstyle. we won’t get an endless string of cocker spaniel hair or high ponies from her, and that is much appreciated. #Rational Love List, Kelly O.!

    • gabbilevy

The pink lipstick is a bridge too far with the purple hair. Also the see-thru tee is no good.

      • Qitkat

I thought the pink lipstick was the right retro color, and a bridge between the purple hair, and the pinkey-purple dangly at the bottom of the earrings.

    • charlotte

I guess Joan Harris did not attend this event.

      • Angela_the_Librarian

Lane Pryce didn’t either (though he may have had some choice words about the quality of Jaguars!)

    • Synnae

I like the retro look on her. It works really with her face and body shape. But I’m over her hair colour. And considering how often she used to change it, I’m sure so is she.

    • ashtangajunkie

I always love her makeup. I adore this outfit, but wish the top were either more sheer or not at all. I don’t like this “sort of sheer” business.

      • marlie

I think it’s a case of being sheer in front of flash bulbs. I doubt it’s semi see-through in person.

        • ashtangajunkie

You’re probably right. Just one of those things that triggers my OCD.

    • International Model

LavendEr. One a, two e’s. This may be a needed posts in all discussions about Kelly.

      • foodycatAlicia

        I always get that wrong.

      • Sarah

        Good on ya.

      • Bridget Smith

I always have to think about this, and it’s 100% because of Miss Lavendar from ANNE OF AVONLEA. Who would’ve thought that reading as a child would harm my spelling skills?

    • alyce1213

It makes sense that she’d shill for a Jaguar event, being a proper English girl. I think she looks cute, she’s the right type for the retro outfit.
I wonder how her tattoo removal is going. Ouch.
(Tired of the hair, but that’s not going to change soon.)

    • MilaXX

I don’t like this. from the neck down it’s matronly and from the neck up it’s Mrs. Slocombe from Are You Being Served?

      • Qitkat

Snort! But I don’t think Mrs. S would have worn those earrings.

        • MilaXX

The earrings and the lip color are what reminded me of her the most.

          • Qitkat

Truthfully, I don’t even recall her earring choices. I’ll have to look the next time I catch the show.

    • hughman

She’s really working an Eve Arden vibe which is a good match for her.

      • SportifLateBoomer

Exactly! I love this look. Kicky and fun and venue-appropriate (if a little sheer on top).

I’d like to have lavender hair for awhile. Maybe if/when it goes full-on silver I’ll try it for a change.

      • mjude

how I adored eve arden when I was a little girl. perfect vibe!

      • MoHub

Now you’ve gone and made me miss Eve Arden!

    • estella_nyc

God I’m tired of her hair color. It makes her look sick.

    • Lori

I like it OK from the neck down, although I would have preferred a bit of color in either the shoes or the clutch. From the neck up it’s not working for me. I still don’t like the hair and I’m not loving the make-up.

    • Tatiana Luján

That neckline isn’t very flattering to her neck and jawline.

      • Vtg Fashion Library

And that purse is too big for her hand — it makes it look like a catcher’s mitt.

    • Nancer

Yes, she looks really cute, but I am SO OVER that hair color! I bet when she is 70 years old and looks back on this phase, she will wonder what in the heck she was thinking by dying her hair an old lady color in her twenties!

    • filmcricket

Cute. Hate the see-through-ity of the top, but otherwise cute.

    • foodycatAlicia

Love it. Hate the way black goes unexpectedly sheer under lights.

    • Alexis Boucher

See through tee is unfortunate. She looks fantastic otherwise.
This is the kind of style I wish I could pull off but am far too much of a tom boy.

    • marlie

The outfit is cute. I like this on her. But that HAIR, OMG.

    • gsk241

She would look fine if her lipstick didn’t clash with her hair. OMG PLEASE GET PAST THAT LAVENDER HAIR!!!!!

    • Jessi03

She looks adorable, even though I’m bored of the hair color. I do wish she’d checked to see if her shirt was see-through under lights, though. It’s happened to most of us, but I would think she’s red carpet savvy enough to watch for it.

    • BigWhiteGrannyPanties

I am SO TIRED of that hair. It looks grey and dirty. It is distracting for me, and that makes me sad, because she generally can put herself together so very very well. And I like her comments in public and her personality. But that hair. Can’t you imagine her with luscious, chestnuty – brown, shiny locks? Because I can.

      • Eric Stott

I agree- it isn’t a novelty any more, and it isn’t very flattering here. This shade looks like Grandma between rinses.

    • shirab

She looks oddly like Jay Leno’s long-lost daughter in that photo where she’s laughing.

      • boldprint

        Aaaahaha. Cannot unsee.

    • Trickytrisha

I’m still digging the hair, apparently the single holdout here. Her outfit is cute, a bit quirky and very much in tune with the event. She may be a “non-A lister, swallowing her pride” (meow much?) but she’s looking good, and that Jag is amazing!

      • demidaemon

You are not alone ! I still dig her hair, too! Come on, it’s better than the five hundred versions of fried blonde we get every week!

        • MoHub

Absolutely! Besides, Kelly is number 1 on my irrational love list.

    • Imasewsure

It’s cute but I would have preferred the skirt in a color (or slap a big poodle on it – that’s even better). Otherwise kind of dull

    • Irish Rodriguez Reyes

I hate myself for asking this but… has she gained weight?

      • Vera

        I thought the same thing.

      • Tom and Lorenzo

Then why are you asking it?

Please refrain from commenting on anyone’s body.

        • Irish Rodriguez Reyes

I’m not attacking Kelly – I happen to like her – so please don’t turn this into something it’s not. I’m a big girl myself, literally and figuratively, so please don’t scold me for making a comment that others don’t mention but could very well be thinking.

Last time I checked this is an open forum and a free country so just as you comment on whatever and whomever you please it’s pretty clear to me that the rest of us can do so as well.

I’ve liked and followed you for years but I have noticed that once in a while you get on the offensive when someone voices an opinion different to yours. I see it as something incredibly immature but after all this is your territory and I might be better off by simply not visiting your site anymore.

Thanks for the laughs and the insight.

          Best wishes, Irish

          • Tom and Lorenzo

Uh… no. This is not an open forum. This is not even a “free country.” This is our site and we set the rules. Follow them or don’t. We’ll just ban you if it’s the latter

There is NO BODY-SNARKING ALLOWED here. Do it again and you’re banned.

Thanks for the passive-aggressive response. You’re fun.

    • boweryboy

Cute. I’m in agreement about the hair.

    • nannypoo

When is she going to get tired of that purple hair and move on to something less awful?

    • kimmeister

I suppose I’m thankful she doesn’t have lavender eyebrows.

    • Tashina Savage

This whole look needs to be in my closet ASAP.

    • PastryGoddess

where can I get a tea length skirt?

      • MoHub

        They’re everywhere these days.

        • PastryGoddess

Can’t find one that’s fluted like that one. And I’ve been looking

    • Vera

She looks cute, but she needs to move on from the lavendar hair.

    • GeoDiva

Don’t like that her eye makeup matches her hair.

    • KBz

Am I the only one who saw the 1st pic and wondered where she put her other leg?

    • JauntyJohn

You know, she’s really grown on me over the years.
I think the hair could use a deeper hue (closer to Grape Tootsie Pop than this dusty lavender) but it’s her thing, and I salute her for it.
Outfit works. I bet she’s fun to have a cup of coffee with.

    • Eric Stott

Do you think the visible bra is intentional, or just a trick of the flash? I’d love to give this outfit an unqualified IN! but there’s something a bit unflattering about it – it makes her look a bit more fleshy than she should.

      • ChristySchiff

I’d be willing to forgive the trick of the flash if I weren’t also seeing the fabric catch on the underwire. I think that’s just the wrong bra (and probably the wrong size) for this sweater.

        • Eric Stott

This sort of 50’s outfit really needs a Bullet Bra, and that’s just not her look. This is not awful though.

    • ThaliaMenninger

      Frumpy dumpy stumpy.

    • MannahattaMamma

the phrase ‘would attend the opening of an envelope” comes to mind. but I loves me a skirt with pockets. fashion designers (well, those who design for Tarjay) please take note.

    • judybrowni

I usually like her purple hair, but on my monitor it’s coming up greyish and not flattering.

    • Dagney

      Punk Lucille Ball. Awesome.

    • BKagainwiththesweatpants

In the closeup, she looks like Divine in “Hairspray.”

    • Sara Leigh Merrey

I’m having my usual irrational hatred of Kelly Osbourne reaction. Some things never change. I just don’t like her style and don’t understand why anyone thinks she has anything worthwhile to say about style.

      • Gatto Nero

        Not irrational.

    • Stubenville

She looks like an over-Botoxed grandma.

    • SusannaGA

Very cute, and the fifties effect is nicely done. But the mock turtleneck (high crew neck?) just isn’t flattering, especially with the short sleeves. I pretty much hate short sleeves on anything or anyone, though.

    • Jacob Bowen

I will never NOT love Kelly Osbourne. She is on my irrational love list. And I LOVE her hair!
