Kat Dennings in Naeem Khan at the “Thor: The Dark World” LA Premiere

Posted on November 05, 2013

We are declaring this one a Personal Best for her.

Kat Dennings attends the “Thor: The Dark World” Los Angeles Premiere in Hollywood, California in a Naeem Khan burgundy and nude lace-embroidered sleeveless sheath paired with Jimmy Choo pumps and Neil Lane jewelry.

Naeem Khan Spring 2014 Collection

She never quite seems to pull it together, style-wise. And on the rare occasion that she gets it mostly right, she tends to fudge it on the details somehow; usually in the hair and makeup areas. But on the latter point, we don’t think she’s ever looked prettier. Girl, that’s Your Face. Keep it. And we really like what the dress is doing for her, although we think the neckline may be overwhelming her. But you might want to brace yourselves for this next opinion: We agree with the neutral shoes. This is an instance where the wearer really did need to visually elongate her legs a little, because she’s a curvy gal in a busy dress. Love the jewelry, too; glam but relatively understated.

Attagirl. We knew you had it in you.

      Be-yu-ti-ful!

    • filmcricket

I think I’m going to put pictures of her up on my treadmill or something. Proportionally, her legs are longer than mine, but this is about as close as I could ever get to achieving a celebrity body that I would gladly kill to have. Dress is gorgeous, face is gorgeous. And I’m glad it looks like the pattern extends to the back too, because that would just be a big wall of beige back there otherwise.

    • ShiOllie

Excellent boob management. This one – she doesn’t always do it so well, so good job!

      • Heather

Yes, that’s often the key issue for her, I think.

        • MilaXX

I think it’s stylist not know what to do with big boobs in general. See also: Hendrix, Christina.

        • ShiOllie

It’s often the key issue for me, too, and I have none of the ‘you’re borrowing this dress so you can’t properly tailor it’ problems she has, so I’m always glad when gals like her and Christina Hendricks manage to do it right.

      • sojourneryouth

I agree. I would have thought that someone with larger breasts couldn’t pull off that neckline, but she looks AMAZING. Clearly, she can do big glam and pull it off. I absolutely adore that dress on her.

        • ShiOllie

Because it’s lace, it gives the eye something to look at besides a big block of color and so breaks up the bulk – helped by the fact that the nude fabric is the EXACT shade of her skin. I think if the neckline was done in solid fabric, it would make her look wide. Normally I’m not that into lace, but it does a better job in this instance of giving visual interest without adding the bulk that ruching or pleating or appliques can.

          • sojourneryouth

Ooh, good points! I wouldn’t have thought to put it that way, but you’re right.

      • musicandmochi

Boob Management should be a required class for female (and fat male) celebritydom.

    • Supernumerary

She looks stunning, but I feel like the neckline would be less overwhelming if only someone hooked her up with a properly-fitted bra.

      • Bexxx

See, I think the tetas look great. I think the neckline gives her the unfortunate illusion of boobs-in-the-armpits.

        • Supernumerary

I don’t doubt that the neckline contributes, but a decent bra will also help mitigate quite a bit of that effect.

      • calimon

I think the dress size is just a wee bit too tight, and is also smooshing down her voluptuous bosom.

      • demidaemon

I saw her on Chelsea Lately recently, and she is well-aware of her bra issues, though I do not know what she is doing to solve them.

    • Tatiana Luján

I think the neckline is pretty cool for a Thor premiere.

      • FeminineLipstique

Add some length to that frock and she could fit right in at Asgard.

    • marlie

She looks fabulous. Just gorgeous. The dress is AH-mazing, and her makeup looks perfect. I’m still not sold on the shoes, BUT everything else about this is so slammin’ that I don’t care.

Seriously… the things that dress is doing to her figure…

      • largishbearishAtlish

whoever found that lipstick shade- PERFECTION!

    • http://heartprintandstyle.com/ Vivi N

      STUNNING.

Even though I would have preferred a pair of gold metallic heels.

    • Glam Dixie

Va va va voom! I don’t usually care for this type of dress but she has tamed it and made it her bitch.

    • http://www.youtube.com/user/TheOctocornNetwork International Model

She’s sex on sexy stick. Also, the nude netting actually works instead of saying, “Lookie me! I’m OBVIOUS!”

      • http://dontmakeitlikeimdumb.blogspot.com/ annabelle archer

I noticed it on the model and had to look for it on Kat. That is a well played moment, for sure.

    • MilaXX

This is a WERQ for me. I agree, this is and instance where the nude shoe is appropriately deployed. My only very minor quibble is I would remove ring on her pointer finger on her left hand. She doesn’t need it.

      • jtabz

Agree on the ring … and agree that it’s still WERQ-worthy. Love it.

    • MoHub

Please tell me it’s not solid ivory in the back. The sides make me fear that it is.

      • Kathy

In the third pic down, it looks as though the pattern continues on the back. I’m with you, solid ivory in the back would be catastrophic.

    • Jacqueline Wessel

I love this dress on her and the illusion netting matches her skin tone almost perfectly. I like that the shoes don’t have a big thick platform but do have just the right amount of toe cleavage. Hate the way the lipstick is applied but I like the color.

    • conniemd

How can you keep a ring on your finger between the two knuckles?

      • http://frankbettecenter.org/ sleah_in_norcal

those look so uncomfortable. i’d be worried about losing it all evening.

      • decormaven

        I don’t know, but that’s a stunner of a ring.

      • kimmeister

You control any urges to gesticulate wildly.

    • stubbornthoughts

      Gorgeous.

    • Kathy

      WERQ. She’s beautiful.

    • Janet B

      Perfect.

    • lunchcoma

Lovely pattern on the dress, and I’ll concur that the nude shoes make sense here.

    • ampg

      WOWZA.

    • Nancer

She looks amazing. Love this on her.

    • Nancer

Note to Jamie Alexander – THIS is how you do it. I don’t know who advised you on your “dress” but – smash them!

    • mjude

I think its a beautiful dress but what is going on with the sides, is it a nude look?

    • Tamara Hogan

      Absolutely beautiful.

    • tetisheri

      Love this!

    • Qitkat

It’s a relief to see a perfect color of lining for once. Lovely.

    • NYCGlamourpuss

I’ve honestly never seen her look so good! Just fantastic, brava to her!

    • YousmelllikeAnnaWintour

      WERQ.

    • http://frankbettecenter.org/ sleah_in_norcal

truly a beautiful dress, the color is perfect for her. but i’m not endorsing the nude shoes, sorry uncles. i’d like the see some bare, ruby red sandals or maybe something light in gold, to reflect the delicacy of the lace. those plain putty pumps should die, all of them. i’ll take a matchy shoe over nude anytime. i’d kill for that red aand black ring, though.

    • teensmom99

Shows how important good fit is.

    • Erika Schultze

Absolutely fabulous. She blew me away with this. I think it’s a WERQ!

    • Aidan B

      Gorgeous! Agreed, personal best.

    • Denise Alden

See, honey? Was that so hard? You’re GORGEOUS and everyone knows it!

    • http://skreened.com/bkcentral Sarah

      OOhh. Purty. No complaints.

    • http://dontmakeitlikeimdumb.blogspot.com/ annabelle archer

      Gorgeous! Go on Ms. Kat!

    • Shawn EH

But most importantly, she gave the girls a rest! If an over-elaborate neckliine is what it takes, thank you Naheem Khan!

    • boweryboy

I hate the dress. I really do. Haven’t we seen about a million and one of them already?

      • demidaemon

True. But, sometimes, it’s the right dress for the right girl.

    • Trickytrisha

It’s… it’s… like Marchesa, only with good taste?

    • Imasewsure

Love everything but the shoes… neutral yes… but not that pair… she looks amazing though

    • traceyishere

I would like to see the dress an inch shorter.

    • princessricky

Naem khaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan!!! can i please have one of your dresses

      • mshesterp

That’s exactly how I say his name too. Man, he’s amazing.

      • Mrs. Julien

Yes. God, yes. Oui. Dieu, oui.

    • TheLaurenJean

      Wow. She looks amazing!

    • MW

      I’d call this a WERQ.

    • Tanya Wade

She is such a girl crush for me. That dress is fitted so perfectly, I’m in awe. Love that the neutral shoes have a nice pointy toe, too.

    • Tippi123

I love this. The golden shoes from the runway make it look very Christmasy.

    • Tippi123

I would like to see the back of the dress though. I hope the pattern continues…

    • Kate4queen

      lovely. I want this dress.

    • http://foodycat.blogspot.co.uk/ foodycatAlicia

She should have gone up a size. The drag lines across her groin are letting her down.

    • Lilithcat

She needs to comb her hair.

      Otherwise, fabulous.

    • Danielle

      Very pretty!

    • formerlyAnon

She’s gorgeous. And dressed well. And I like her hair, here.

    • Adriana_Paula

      Hubba hubba!

    • nannypoo

It looks like a henna tattoo.

    • OldPandaDayz

Agreed- she really is working the whole look in that first photo! And the cut on the gown is fantastic on her.

    • Violentcello

She looks lovely. It’s reading very Marion Cotillard to me.

    • Madam Von Sassypants

Snaps to the perfectly-hued undergarments for this one. A sheer/nude dress looks infinitely better when it blends almost seamlessly into the wearer’s skintone. Getting that right PLUS no obvious granny panties (or creepy thong)? WIN WIN WIN.

    • Saturnine

She gets a pass from me almost always because she looks like a walking Pre-Raphaelite, but she’s stunning here.

    • Jackie4g

You liked the neutral shoes for the right reason. This is a lovely look and I’m so pleased to see it and glad the Nephews approved..

    • poggi

She looks pretty and young and fresh. Way to go!

    • joything

Hm, “Curvy gal + busy dress (elongate legs) = neutral shoe.” Thank you, Professors T and Lo. Note taken.

    • http://twitter.com/#!/Space_Kitty Space Kitty

That could not possibly be more her dress. Well. done.

    • http://asskickingadviser.com/ Ass Kicking Adviser

I nominate her for a WERQ. Lovely.

    • CT14

      Illusion netting working perfectly here!

    • Sabin

The angry eyeball nipples are making me giggle.

    • pop_top

THIS IS EVERYTHING. Plus I have no real concept of her cup size.

    • bitchybitchybitchy

Love this-it puts me in mind of that gorgeous henna work that Indian brides have done for their weddings.

    • cocohall

This is certainly one of her better days, but I hate the dark lip colors she seems to favor. She has such beautiful eyes and I wish she’d play those up more and be a little less boob and lip-tastic.

    • SewingSiren

This is way good for her.

    • http://www.dogsdotcom.blogspot.com/ Plink

Looks like wallpaper…did someone else already say that?

    • rondele

Oh she looks lovely here. The dress is a perfect fit, a great color for her, and the makeup is perfection.

    • quiltrx

Sigh…Naeem Khan, you are a marvel.

    • amaranth16

Absolutely stunning. Perfect color for her. Makeup flawless. Dress a work of art. And bless her, she’s not relying on her (admittedly impressive) boobs for once.

    • GeoDiva

      Best she has ever look!

    • Bernadette

I agree on the shoes, there not those putty-colored hooves seen so often. The shade pointy toe make it work.

    • crash1212

      This is perfection. WERQ.

    • Clydette Wantland

Wow, she looks GREAT! Snaps for Kat!!

    • AmeliaEve

WOW – She looks like a Bollywood valentine!

    • Mrs. Julien

That is the best illusion netting I have ever seen.

      • Whever

Holy crap! I didn’t even notice it until you mentioned it!

    • AzSportsGirl

Picking a real tiny nit here – hate the lipstick smudge in her philtrum.

    • Sunraya

I don’t know, after seeing this dress on the model, I think it needs a straighter body, not a curvier one. She has a beautiful body, just not in this dress.

    • melanie0866

      COOL. LOVE that dress.

    • http://armchairauthor.wordpress.com/ LesYeuxHiboux

She finally looks like a movie star! I’ve been pulling for her.

    • msdamselfly

      Perfection

    • gg80302

      Gorgeous.

    • Gatto Nero

Nude shoes are perfect here, as is the jewelry and styling. Prefer the dress on the model’s body, but it works fine on her. That shade of red is made for her.

    • http://missbethg.wordpress.com Beth Ann

Yes, this is a personal best for her! Lovely!

    • DamH

It really works with her curvy body. GORGEOUS.

    • Michelle Gennari

Lovely. And the puppies are properly restrained. Good work!

    • Jane

      stunning

    • kalisa

Don’t think I’ve seen her in anything that flatters her figure more. Could do without the press-on nails, though.

    • demidaemon

WOW. I actually like the neckline here, because it deemphasizes her bust a little, which she seems to prefer, and also brings more attention to her lovely face.

    • Crystal

      her body is sick.
