Considering there was a tragic limo incident in which half her skit was torn away, she looks good.

      • hughman

So basically it’s a “skit show”?

    • mmebam

That orange makes her skin look positively radiant.

      • Rhonda Shore

i love that color on her.

        • Carla_Charlton

The color is great on her, but the dress — terrible design and poorly fitting. And what’s up with the ring/bracelet doodad?

    • BuffaloBarbara

The bodice seems to pull in an awkward way. That’s all I’ve got.

      • marlie

I noticed that too, but I think it’s just the way she’s standing (?).

        • NYCGlamourpuss

It could be, but it does give a weird effect.

    • suzq

      Stop it with the half-skirts!

      • gabbilevy

I see this and I think, Who the hell looks at this and decides it’s a good idea!?

    • KateShouldBeWorking

I don’t like this version of a mullet hem but I appreciate it for being different.

    • http://gabyrippling.tumblr.com/ Gaby

It’s like a flatter version of Destiny’s Child matching costumes.

    • Lurk-a-lot

Nice color, awful fitting, cheap-looking shoes.

      • Little_Olive

        You forgot tacky makeup.

    • Karen Belgrad

Is that…. HER BRA showing from the armpit of the last pic? I’m not sure what’s more shocking, that a stylist would allow this or that someone wore a real bra on the red carpet.

    • Lisa M. (ReVoir) Kramp

Ew. Like absolutely nothing about this look.

    • JulieK

Love the makeup – she looks younger and fresher

    • http://www.what-the-frock.com Dana WhatTheFrock

Like the hair and makeup, love the orange color. Hate the shape of the dress and the cheap-looking shoes.

    • http://foodycat.blogspot.co.uk/ foodycatAlicia

Love the idea of the skirt but not the execution, but I don’t care because that pop of blue on her eyes is SO beautiful.

      • kimmeister

I love how the blue contrasts perfectly with the orange dress.

    • LeelaST

Unflattering skirt situation. I hope matching nail polish & eyeliner is not gonna be a thing.

    • teensmom99

Besides the mullet hem–oh who am I kidding–that’s kind of like asking Mrs. LIncoln how the play was. . . But anyway, besides the mullet hem, the front part of the skirt stops at an awkward spot on her. It’s like her thigh is in a frame. This is not an attractive look for anyone.

    • HomeOfficeGirl

I WISH I could like this. I think her new hair is working pretty well here. I LOVE all the color. But it’s just a strange dress that is doing nothing for her fabulous figure.

    • lunchcoma

So I guess that Dior is just really hideous this season, and that it’s not some special grudge against Jennifer Lawrence.

      • boweryboy

        Two words: Raf. Simons.

        • Evan

I used to like his stuff at Jil Sander, so I don’t know what happened. I mostly paid attention to his men’s designs though, so maybe he should just stick with that.

          • boweryboy

Couldn’t agree with you more about his Jil Sander and men’s wear designs. He isn’t necessarily a bad designer, he just had HUGE shoes to fill when he took on the creative director role at Dior.
With each collection it seems like he’s bitten off more than he can chew. To say nothing of his deliberate lack in using models of color in his shows.

            • Evan

Yeah, I think the main thing is he’s a terrible fit for Dior. I just did a research paper on Christian Dior and Raf Simon’s contemporary, minimalist style couldn’t be further from the aesthetic of Dior. I feel like he’s tried to embellish many of his designs to be more in keeping with the Dior aesthetic, but they usually come out as awkward frankendresses. Jil Sander was a much better fit, but she returned and Dior is a much bigger paycheck. And now that you mention it, I haven’t seen him use any black models either, but I have seen him use Asian models. I don’t know if that counts as models of color though.

            • bitchybitchybitchy

Thanks for the explanation. It’s a shame to see a talented designer in a bad fit with such a storied couture house. Let’s hope for better collections in the future.

          • kimmeister

That explains why I thought this was going to be a Jil Sander look before I saw the credits.

        • Denise Alden

Couldn’t have said it better myself!

      • Introspective

seriously. dior is feeling like peter pilotto in solids. just overworked for the sake of being overworked. and me no likey my dior without french eleganza.

so can we bring back my old dior? otherwise i unsubscribe.

    • Glam Dixie

      Her face matches her dress.

    • Jaeda Laurez

The orange is fantastic. The everything else, is not. Would it KILL her to bump the ends though? It would be SO cute if she did.

    • bellafigura1

I think she looks completely stunning.

    • marlie

What I do like: Her hair and makeup – just gorgeous. The color of the dress – it’s stunning. The fit of the dress – the fit on her torso is the best she’s worn in a long while, even though the shoulders are a little wonky.

What I don’t like: The weird side-mullet hem – Dior strikes again. The shoes – they look a little cheap.

      • kimmeister

It’s the platform and the fact that the segments are little hearts that make the shoes look cheap. If it weren’t for those 2 things, I would love them.

    • Nancer

LOVE the color on her! This is gorgeous! And her eyeliner makes me smile.

      • sojourneryouth

Agree. Those are the only two things I like about her look. The. ONLY. Things.

    • barbarienne

I don’t think it’s doing much for her figure, but the color is good on her and I love the deployment of the contrasting blue nails and eye makeup. Also love the hair.

    • ThaliaMenninger

I like her hair kind of tossed and girlish like this. And the color is definitely nice. But her lipstick needs to go and that extra panel or drape or whatever you call it on the dress is REALLY not working for me. Still love her, though.

    • Taylor Bigler

This is a big GTNYD for me. The bodice does nothing for her and the flappy hem looks unfinished. The color is great, but I actually DON’T like the blue eyeliner. Looks like an afterthought. The hair also looks undone. WTF is up with Dior the past few seasons? Or do they have something against ALL Jennifers?

      • http://foodycat.blogspot.co.uk/ foodycatAlicia

I love the idea of a Jennifer conspiracy.

        • conniemd

After seeing Dior and then that dress my first thought was well no wonder Jennifer Lawrence looked so bad, obviously there was very little of good design to choose from.

        • NYCGlamourpuss

Yes! Have they ever badly clothed Aniston? This is something to look into.

          • http://foodycat.blogspot.co.uk/ foodycatAlicia

Garner is starting a poledance, and she’s sure to be given some dud frocks.

    • Adrianna Grężak

I have a similiar body to Jennifer Hudson, and I can’t wear those sleeves either. I’m sure she had better options to pick from!

    • Rebecca Bledsoe

She’s absolutely gorgeous, and that color looks great on her. Love the orange/pink combo, and the bright blue eyeliner is fun. That being said, wasn’t it not too long ago that Dior actually made “pretty” dresses?

    • http://dontmakeitlikeimdumb.blogspot.com/ annabelle archer

Does anyone remember the movie Jumping Jack Flash? Do you remember Whoopi getting her dress caught in the shredder? I laughed my ass off that scene. Sigh, good times. Anyway, back to today….I dunno, it may be my monitor, but JHud is looking to be the same orange as her dress, and that is just odd and not right. I do like her hair and the pop of blue on her eyes.

    • Mary Lauer

I actually like that bizarre skirt, and I am not a fan of mullet dresses. Shoes are tragic tho. 8-(

    • boweryboy

Raf Simons strikes again. First JLaw and now JHud.

She’s serving up serious face in that last photo. Hair and make-up is smoking.

    • LaSylphide

If she stood up straight and sold it, I’d love the whole thing, especially the jewelry.

    • MilaXX

Considering the venue I don’t dislike the look. My only quibble is the face. Despite the eye makeup, the face looks a little “blah”. I’d prefer a stronger lip or bolder eye.

    • conniemd

I want to yank the whole bottom part to her left to get rid of the messy folds around her stomach and straighten out the dress.

    • Little_Olive

It’s like she was caught in the midst of dressing for an appearance in The Lion King musical.

(I hate the hair and the makeup, in case the above wasn’t clear enough)

    • Angela_the_Librarian

The color looks great on her, but I just don’t like how the front looks. It’s almost like they were going to put a slit on the side, lost control of the scissors, and kept it like that anyway.

    • Danielle

      Nah.

    • StelledelMare

Why is everyone suddenly getting the pixie cut?

      • tereliz

I know, right? My hair is finally past my boobs so of course now long hair is going out. MUST RESIST THE CHOP!! I always go for the “Wintour” when I cut it all off, so somebody please stop me!!

        • Sarah

Oh, I just cut my bob into a shag over the weekend. I kept going back into the bathroom, looking into the mirror, and snipping one *last* piece off – you know, just for symmetry. I had to put the scissors AWAY before I balded myself.

    • tereliz

Love her makeup, hate the hair, hate the dress (love the color on her), hate the shoes. The clutch is nice?

    • Daktari100

The peek-a-boo cut out for her legs looks muy tacky.

    • Madam Von Sassypants

NO NO NO. This is like the sideways baseball cap of dresses. Worse than the mullet. It’s like a sideways baseball cap ON TOP of a glorious mullet.

Also I want to like the color on her, but all it seems to do is highlight the orange tones in her foundation.

    • Tatiana Luján

Do you remember when Dior used to make pretty clothes?

    • Sarah

Erm, I want to like it, but I can’t with the hem. The colors are fun, but this would’ve been nicer if it just was a long dress with a slit and a hot pink lining.

    • KinoEye

This dress doesn’t know what it wants to be when it grows up. Great color for her, though.

    • ThesisMonkey

Love the color and the eyeliner! Wish someone had come up with a better way of making the shape interesting. Didn’t have to go with “fashion-class tragedy”.

    • lrhoff

Oh, that’s where my mother’s tablecloth went! Why did she cut a huge portion off of it, though? She’s going to have to pay for that…..

    • mjude

it started out good till i saw the bottom of the dress. seriously that is just stupid.

    • empath

      …must… resist…. urge… to … tear off the rest of the hem….
top half summer bbq, bottom half tear apart tablecloth… just kinda dumb all around

    • amanda lynn

      nope.

    • crash1212

Dior? I’m am totally over you. I love her head.

    • Jacob Bowen

Styling (GREAT hair and makeup)+ Color of the dress+ Dress from the waist up= PERFECTION. Damn, that Orange is SO perfect on her!

    • http://smalltownbigwardrobe.com/ Catherine

I just can’t with the hair. Don’t even get me started with the dress.

    • Lori

WTH is going on at Dior and who do we have to kill to make it stop? Great color for her, but the dress itself is idiotic.

    • ‘Becca’lise Deveaux

I almost always hate her makeup.

    • NDC_IPCentral

So, the dress tore and she decided to make the best of it.

I’m most certainly with the BKs – Dior deserves a dunce cap.

    • Kent Roby

She needs to get the scissors back out of that cute clutch and finish cutting off the bottom of this dress.

    • Sharon Weiner

25% off at the designer outlet mall?

    • Janet B

Orange and pink is a fantastic color combo.
      The rest is absolutely horrible.

    • Akemi

I think the color looks great on her, but the bottom half is terrible. Her hair looks like a mess, and I am never a fan of matchy-matchy make up. Also, her toes are falling off the side of her shoes.

So basically…that color looks great on her.

    • BrooklynBomber

This could have been a great dress if only some IDIOT HADN’T CUT IT AWAY AT THE THIGHS. But her makeup, wtf??

    • http://twitter.com/irmaladuce_l8ly IrmaLaDuce

The color is lovely on her, but she just does not have the legs for the minis she’s been trotting out lately. Also, I am sick to death of seeing her bra bands peeking out under her arm pits. And they are always sad, granny beige bras. Other than that, I think everything above the waist and below the knees looks fantastic.

    • rmp6y5

Great fabric color but terribly unflattering frankendress and worst eye makeup ever. She looks uncomfortable. Killer shoes though.

    • http://www.ellenciompi.com/ NurseEllen

There must have been a “purse polisher” in her retinue because it’s acting just like a mirror (esp. in the 2nd shot) but I see nary a fingerprint in any of the subsequent photos. In other news, I hope, sincerely, that anyone who is still alive who was associated with the classic, classy, respected House of Dior does not have the misfortune to see these photos or any of the Jennifer Lawrence ones. It might give them angina, and with good reason. I know “evolving with the times” is part of the definition of fashion but Dior’s styles of late are SUCH a disappointment. Nobody expects them to stagnate in the 1950s but something with a little more respect for the House’s history might be nice.

      • Jumpingjacks

Actually the collections under Raf Simons have a lot of respect for the history of Dior, if you look at the collections there are plenty of references. It might not show in every garment, but that would be impossible.

Not that I don’t agree that a lot of the chosen dresses are probably better for editorials rather than red carpet

    • http://TheDoseofReality.com/ The Dose of Reality

I love her hair. It looks so good on her. The less said about the dress, the better.

    • Michelle Wilson

Love everything but the dress, which is atrocious.

    • Call me Bee

I love her hair and she looks happy and relaxed, but that is just an ugly dress. Sorry hon–you can do better.

    • BigWhiteGrannyPanties

I love her, but she doesn’t have the legs for this. Legs for this would be weird and impossibly long alien legs. Is there a red carpet example of that kind of leg in this dress? This dress is just silly.

    • Miranda

      I like the colors….

    • ashtangajunkie

I hate this dress like poison.

    • Juniper

That’s some serious scroll down fug.

    • frannyprof

      No.

    • GillianHolroyd

First impression: hangnail and the urge to rip it off. But the color is great, she should have resisted the technicolor eye shadow. She also can’t seem to stand up straight so I’m wondering if this is Zoe Saldana’s dress or better, Lupita Nyong’o’s? Yes, give it to Lupita.

    • http://www.readbarbara.com/ ReadBarbara

Wow, that’s not her dress — this one and it’s weirdo color make her look lumpy and jaundiced in a way she most certainly is not. But props to her to for pulling off shoes that double as deadly weapons.

    • anotherkate

What a great color on her! Love the makeup and nails, too, but the actual shape of the dress is just too odd to be flattering, and her hair is not great. She should definitely keep wearing that color orange in the future, though!

    • http://phantomminuet.blogspot.com/ MinAgain

I’m so glad she was able to escape that vicious dog attack.

    • KT

Okay, you could have told me that she’s wearing the latest from Target’s Dorm Room Essentials line of shower curtains, and I would have absolutely believed you. If Dior hasn’t already been wallowing in their own shame lately, they should really start.

      • DeniseSchipani

You win for funniest thing I read today, and I read a lot of shit.

        • KT

          haha why thank you!

    • Snailstsichr

Not crazy about the eyeliner, but the ring has me in its thrall.

    • Pterodactyl111

I really like the blue eyeliner.

    • Trickytrisha

I’m not down with that much orange color on any human being. Even her hair and face have orange highlights. Such a lovely woman, but I do wish she hadn’t followed the crop-your-hair trend.

    • mlurve

If this was a full gown it would’ve been gorgeous! Why cut it off, whyyyyyy?!

    • Lorelei_D

This is so great. Younger, less stiff, better makeup. She’s most beautiful when she smiles.

    • CeeRich

Girl loves a mini dress and she needs to ALWAYS add two more inches. She’s stunning and I applaud her weight loss and fabulosity. That being said, her upper inner thighs are not her best feature and she insists on showing that area off. Love the color, hate the dress.

    • formerlyAnon

I like her hair and the color of the dress. The makeup, shoes and the fit of the dress all seem . . . underacheiving? Well meant but poorly considered? Better in theory than execution? Something like that.

    • Gara St. James

This dress is reminding me of an Olivia De Haviland line from “Hush… Hush, Sweet Charlotte.” OLIVIA: “My dress! Someone… slashed… my dress!”

    • bitchybitchybitchy

The color is great, very flattering, but what in holy hell is going on at Dior? That is a tragic dress-it looks as if Jennifer was caught in a door, or attacked by a stalker with very sharp scissors.

    • LadyLuck777

Love the color on her! Love pretty much everything from the upper thigh and up, and I’ll give her a pass on the shoes, but what the heck is going on with that skirt? She should rip that part off, add some buttons and turn it into a kickass cape.

    • MannahattaMamma

almost no woman on earth other than supermodelbodies needs to frame her upper thighs in the way that dress frames hers. GAAAH

    • Donna J. Nicol

      Neon Skittle Couture?

    • SorayaS

Damn, this is one that Jennifer Lawrence actually could have pulled off! The colour does not work for her but I do like what she’s done with her accessories and make up.

    • Brittney P

I hate to say this (since I am a fellow pixie hair cut chick), but I’m not sure if this haircut really suits JHud. She is a beautiful woman; however, this cut doesn’t seem to fit her face that great. Also, am I the only one that thought her leg was a bit messed up (when it was actually the long hem of her dress)?

    • bertkeeter

RAF…please leave Dior…U just don’t get it! John Galliano get back there…PLEASE!

    • Aurumgirl

Aw, c’mon. A dress should never be designed to look like someone tried to rip it off you. By nature, that can’t be flattering on anyone.

    • Fannie Wolston

If that skirt had a couple big safety pins keeping it closed it would have been edgy and cool right?

    • Renaissance_Man_ATL

GTNYD! Pack it up and send it to Nicole Richie. She’ll know what to do with it.

    • Diego!

      TACKY AS SH*T!!!

    • PeaceBang

Nothing here works. The ridiculous cut of the dress, the terrible make-up, the stripper heels. Cute hair, though.

    • guest2visits

Not totally great in these stills; but I thought this odd dress still worked beautifully on her at the awards. The colors, the shape, the haircut, …..everything seemed to compliment her.

    • Ashleigh

girl, somebody done cut your dress!

    • Lauren Dorsee Dillon

I like the silver clutch. And nothing else.
