IN or OUT: Amy Adams in Gucci at the 2013 LACMA Art + Film Gala

Posted on November 04, 2013

We’re throwing this out to y’all to decide upon, because we feel like we’ve reached the point where anything we say to Miss Amy will wind up contradicting something else we’ve said to her.

Because look:

Amy Adams attends the LACMA 2013 Art + Film Gala honoring David Hockney and Martin Scorsese, held at LACMA in Los Angeles, California in head-to-toe Gucci.

In the past, we’ve said, “Oh Amy. Stop doing the Nicole Kidman thing and start dressing to your strengths. Color! Personality!” But then at other times, we were all, “Oh Amy. Stop doing the literal 1940s thing, because even though it suits you well, it doesn’t come off very fresh when you do it.”

So as you can see, we’re torn. We like this for being bold. On the other hand, it does not, as we said, feel very modern. And we have a thing about dresses matching hair color, especially with blondes and redheads. And we really don’t think the shoes go at all. So we’re kind of leaning toward OUT, but don’t want to say it, because we’re always ragging on her for something or other.

You guys do it.

Vote Now!

IN! Can’t argue with pretty.

OUT! Tacky and old-fashioned.

The Bitter Kittens thought Cobie Smulders’ boring dress was boring, but they couldn’t bring themselves to vote it anything but IN.

  • Akemi

I like the dress, and I think she looks very pretty, but those shoes do not match at all.

    • makeityourself

Patent with lame’? Who does that?

  • jonnyf8

Amy. Always out. Gosh it really is Monday! I guess I should have mentioned that I actually liked Drew.

  • Inspector_Gidget

Modern or not, she looks great from the ankles up.

    • mshesterp

IN from me. I think she looks great.

  • Carleenml

I think the color’s great for her but the dress is just pretty much wrapped towel.

    • Cathy S

Exactly my thoughts. Beautiful color. Really boring towel dress.

    • tereliz

Yup. I can’t really muster much enthusiasm for a towel dress, no matter how pretty she looks. Meh.

    • homofascist

It is so refreshing to scroll down and see that someone else’s first thought was ‘towel dress’.

  • Vtg Fashion Library

    IN. Love it!

  • Sarah Lang

    In. I think it’s stunning.

  • Clueless_Jock

  • Amanda Welliver

I like the color, but too many issues: fit in the bust, terrible shoes (double points off for the patent and the platform), and the badly wearing lipstick.

  • Alexis Boucher

She looks fantastic, but I can’t help but being distracted by the dress being the same color as her hair. Imagine if this were a deep green or purple or heck even a deep blue.

    • Introspective

thats my problem with it. its copper overload. too much of a good thing…

      • Mary229

I need her to keep her hair that color though. That copper color is a much better color than the washed out Strawberry blond she’s had for a while. This hair color is awesome. Am I wrong?

        • Nan

Completely right on the hair. It’s fantastic.

        • Alexis Boucher

No, you’re right about the color of her hair, it’s gorgeous. As a faux redhead, I may have to show my stylist at my next appointment.

    • kim bunchalastnames

ya, this. she’s got the “gilda” hair happening, and that’s a good, glam thing, but the dress … meh. and the shoes with it? oh, honey, no.

  • Glam Dixie

It’s not super modern looking but she does look lovely, hair and makeup are both good, so I’m gonna say IN.

  • IN. That copper makes her look like a sexy Statue of Liberty and that’s how you do 40’s drag – with sexy patriotism!

  • Noah

Out, but not totally. If the dress were either longer or shorter, and just a tinge darker, and better accessorized, I’d be on board. So close, Amy.

  • Pretty from the ankles up, but nothing special. Didn’t she win an Oscar? OUT.

    • Karen Belgrad

      4 noms, no wins

  • Meredith

For some reason I think if she had a pinker (and less red) lip and blush, it could work because it would soften it.

  • Julia

IN although it’s a classic case of scroll-down sadness

    • filmcricket

Scroll-down sadness is exactly the right phrase. My head actually went “wah-wah” as I got to her knees.

  • DesertDweller79

In, she looks pretty. At least the shoes aren’t nude pumps.

  • Kate Andrews

I think the dress is great. The shoes, not with this dress.

  • kayehmwhy

Out! Too literal. Reminds me of old Aunt Millicent. :-p

  • SarahVN

In, I think, although those shoes are wrong wrong wrong.

  • AmeliaEve

IN. I think the color is not her best, but it is a wonderful color in its own right and I love the texture. IN mostly because doggone it, she looks like A Movie Star.

  • filmcricket

Lowercase out. If it were a floor-length gown it’d be “in” all the way, because I think the colour is stunning on her and her head is wonderful. But the awkward length and the shoes ruin it.

  • tallgirl1204

Sorry, IN. She looks beautiful. I think the gown would have been better long, though.

  • Nikko Viquiera

  • Jessica Freeman

    OUT. It’s all bad.

  • MzzPants

She belongs in that Clare Danes photo shoot you just featured. It’s glamorous and the cut of the dress suits her. IN

    • Mary229

Agreed. That kind of photoshoot is exactly what stylists should be going for every time they style her. And she suits it better than Clare Danes to be honest.

  • Mary Lauer

Isn’t this straight out of Jennifer Aniston’s wheelhouse? Short(ish) shiny sparkly bath towel? With the Amy Adams usual addition of SKY high heels …

  • Mary229

IN. That color is gorgeous and in this case, I love that it matches her hair. I also like her with the slightly darker hair and the bolder lip. I hate the shoes but I hate 80% of the shoes on a red carpet. The thing is….Amy’s unique quality as an actress is that she’s sort of a vintage 1940’s screwball heroine. That’s why she works in so many period roles and it’s sort of what I love about her.

  • Julie Chase

    In. She looks gorgeous.

  • teensmom99

    iN-Gilda fabulousness.

  • alyce1213

I’m torn as well. It’s very Rita Hayworth, and that’s cool. I think I’d like the dress better if it were long.
The shoes are absolutely the wrong choice. She’s looking pretty beautiful, so “in.”

  • Jangle57

Compared to some things we’ve seen today (that would be you Drew Barrymore) this is a big leap forward – IN

  • Janet B

Dress is lovely but the styling isn’t.

  • In_Stitches

It’s a little too ‘towel’ for my taste and, as stated, she shouldn’t have matched her dress to her hair. OUT.

Oh, and her shoes are terrible choice. Navy shoes with this dress, or a matte orange if you want to feel fresh and young.

  • BayTampaBay

    Love everything but the shoes,

For some strange reason I cannot explain, the matching hair is working for me on this one. I guess her skin coloring, hair color and dress color is doing a tone-on-tone-on-tone effect.

  • StillGary

IN! Like the previous Claire Danes post I was getting a 1970s “Charlie” vibe.

  • Nancer

Sorry, Guys, this is so IN for me! I think she looks amazing.

  • Lower case in. It’s definitely headed in the right direction, and against all common sense, that color looks great on her. The lipstick, shoes and jewelry are, unfortunately, OUT.

  • Angela_the_Librarian

In. It’s not earth-shattering fabulous, but I like the dress and color on her. Could have went a shade or two lighter with the lipstick though.

  • boweryboy

OUT. It starts off as an IN until I hit the hem and shoes.

    • Monabel

Yes. The hem makes the dress look chip.

  • OUT. Dated, weirdly monochromatic, and finished with shitty shoes.

  • lunchcoma

I’m going to say IN, oddly enough. I don’t mind the hair-dress combo and think the dress is fairly interesting. I don’t care for the shoes, but I haven’t liked a lot of red carpet shoes lately.

  • SewingSiren

Little Mermaid at a November cocktail event, with a hint of Rita Hayworth. All good, but all at once is a WERQ.

  • Slanted & Enchanted

IN. Love the color on her, love her hair, and I do really like the shoes (maybe better separately, but hey! I’m not one for acting on quibbles).

  • pattyw

I find her hair length refreshing. Take note lady stars: There is a length between cocker spaniel and pixie.

  • nancymae

A reluctant OUT. The dress and hair look great but the shoes and makeup triggered a sneezing fit so that can never be good.

  • marlie

IN. The dress color is gorgeous. She’s definitely working the 70s disco look in anticipation of her new movie. The only thing that doesn’t work for me are the shoes.

    • Shawn EH

They’re the wrong color. She’s more like Gilda’s boring sister.

  • neofashionista

  • Catiline

IN. Dislike the shoes, but otherwise I think she looks fan-effin’-tastic.

  • kcnitch

Jen Aniston’s bath towel dress and shoes so high they make feet look like hooves- OUT. Too bad because I just know she can do better!

  • pookiesmom

I think she looks amazing! IN.

  • Tracy_Flick

Qualified IN. The eye shadow is too orange-y, it makes the whole thing look sort of like some kind of costume. Miss Holiday Satsumas or something.

Change up the shadow, and get rid of the cheap, vinyl-ish shoes. The dress, hair, and jewelry are beautiful.

  • jmorino08

IN! I think she looks amazing! And she looks like she feels amazing in it too!

  • Tanya Wade

    IN! Disco Gilda lives!

  • gabbilevy

Hm. Out. This isn’t coming together, but I can’t really put my finger on why.

  • charlotte

My 3 year old says she’s in because her “dress is sparkly”.

  • Trickytrisha

Nearly total IN. Shoes are OUT, dammit.

  • Imasewsure

I actually love the color and the top half of the dress/makeup/hair… and I love the shoes on their own … hate the boring skirt, length and overall style of the dress though… still can’t vote it out though because it’s not awful. Tepid IN

  • Kelly

I’m generally with you, TLo, on not wanting the hair to match the dress, but I make an exception in the case of a rich, beautiful bronze like this. You’re right about the shoes not going, but still. . . Great color, flattering shape (though I’m not sure about the bustle thing), healthy hair. This one’s an IN for me.

  • TheLaurenJean

In. Stop being so picky. She looks good for once!

  • Loramir

In, but with quibbles. The dress is pretty and glamorous and I even like the shoes too. The mermaid hair is blah but classic and not awful. But the dress could be so much better in say, a jewel tone, or even black. And the makeup isn’t working – the lipstick is way too dark and harsh with her fair complexion.

  • MaggieMae

Oh, on the scroll down, so wanted this to be floor length. I don’t love it, not at all. Weak IN.

  • Eclectic Mayhem

In. Despite the squished boobs and the dodgy shoes.

  • Judy_S

Amy In from me. Pretty and she seems to have known ahead of time about the background color.

  • styrch

I was just going to say she looks like she’s trying to copy Nichole Kidman…

  • Emily

Not a perfect look by any stretch, but she definitely falls this side of IN.

  • StephanieLovesTLo

    Gilda snaps up! Love it.

  • Snailstsichr

IN because “you can’t argue with pretty” and there is nothing bad enough that I’m willing to get worked up enough to complain about.

  • conniemd

I think she’s pretty, except I think the very red lipstick clashes with the bronzes/coppers of the dress and her hair. She so has the looks to be 40’s & 50’s Hollywood glam. IN

  • IN – love it.

  • Shawn EH

Out. Something about how the drapes shouldn’t match the curtains, or something. If only Dita were her stylist!

  • MoreShoes

IN. I like it. My only problem is with the shoes.

  • IN but I wish she was wearing green nailpolish.

  • Liz

In, I don’t love it (hem length, lipstick) but my first impression was “ooh, she looks really pretty” so I’m sticking with that.

  • MichelleRafter

I kinda like the shoes, but they definitely make the whole look more retro than it needs to be.

  • mjude

i will give it a tiny IN

  • Lori

In. I wish she was wearing different shoes, but they’re not totally killing the look for me.

  • AC Simons

IN for me. I love the bronze dress on her and don’t mind if it’s matchy with the hair. The shoes don’t offend.

  • lesmaha

In, because she looks pretty, even though it’s all wrong 😉

  • LadyCelia

It has a very “Put the Blame on Mame” feel to it.

  • Jennifer McGuire

In, with a few points off for the shoes. Glamorous, and it suits her.

  • lobsterlen

In but something is off about the shoes.

  • Kimbolina

I’m gonna say In. She reminds me of a sepia photograph, in a good way.

  • cakecakecake

    Her makeup looks great though?

    • cakecakecake

All color mishaps aside, I think the proportions of the dress suit her!

  • Kimberly Wilcox

Pretty girl, pretty dress, not atrocious styling. Its ok. It does seem a little outdated, and the color is awfully close to her hair, and therefore doesn’t really look quite right. (a shade or two different on either, would probably fix that). The shoes seem a little severe for her, but its ok.

  • ovarB

Ooooooo!! So hard to call but I’m going to tip over the side that says “IN!”

  • demidaemon

I feel like this is an outfit where you must take it in thirds, even though these thirds clearly do not go together. So, let’s go. Head: Fabulous, but she’s done herself up like this a million times. Neutral. Dress: Very pretty. The neckline is a bit too flat for me, and she definitely needed jewelry around her neck. Leaning towards a slight IN. Shoes: Horrible. Do not go at all. Definite OUT. So, for lack of accessorizing and shoe choice, I think I am going to set her as OUT, but just barely.

  • ashtangajunkie

Gah, out. I like that Amy Adams is doing sexy here, but the dress looks DTM her hair and the shoes don’t match the dress. I love the shoes though and would like to have them for myself.

  • majorbedhead

I can’t decide. I think it would have been better if the dress had been floor length and those shoes are just atrocious. I oddly don’t mind that the dress matches her hair color and that usually bugs me. The lipstick and blush are making me twitch, but the hair is glorious. Is there something off in the fit at the waist?

I’m going to give it a very small in.

  • IN: The dress color and hair are fab. The shoes, not to much.

    • Shawn EH

I think she’s trying to tie them to the hits of onyx in her jewelry, but it’s not that apparent.

  • Lilithcat

    The length is godawful.

  • JulieK

I wouldn’t call it a personal best, but she looks pretty and it’s better than another boring black dress, so IN!

  • carnush

It’s an IN for me, although the shoes are unfortunate.

  • Amenaneri

Oh, I really like this! I thought her hair looked really pretty even if it was matchy-matchy with the dress, and I even liked the shoes–thought they were interesting, elegant, classic, set off dress nicely. Pretty is pretty….she’s definitely IN!

  • roverrun

My first thought, at first glance was “Wow, Kathleen Turner looks amazing!”

  • decormaven

If ever a dress called out for an impressive necklace, this one does. An emerald necklace, or something with a deep purple stone, and it would really pop. This one is caught in the IN/OUT revolving door due to that misstep.

  • Samantha Klein

    In. She looks great.

  • frannyprof

In. Love everything except the shoes.

  • quitasarah

    IN. Because reasons. And glitter.

  • anneland

IN. It’s all perfection except the shoes. Those are bad.

  • I just want it to be shiny dark green, and the shoes silver.

  • ChelseaNH

I’m definitely getting a Gilda vibe, which is good, but it’s not a really good Gilda, which is sad. I don’t know, can we compromise on an ATTAGIRL?

    • MilaXX

I’d be willing to give it that because it’s not quite an IN.

  • Tracy Walker

In for me! The shine of the dress helps, and I actually don’t mind the shoes. Plus, she looks confident and happy with herself in it.

  • MilaXX

I’m almost on the fence with this look. I like the Studio 54 realness of everything from the knees up, and she’s wearing a color and a bold lip for a change, but that shoe drags down the whole look for me. Small OUT.

  • Lisa M. (ReVoir) Kramp

Oh, man…so close, Amy! If this had been floor length with a lighter lip and less blush this would have been a WERQ for me. She’s channeling some major Rita Hayworth there. In…no school like the old school!

  • jonesybj_notreally

in. and I liked Drew, too.

  • BobStPaul

    Definitley an in.

  • cocohall

This is the fashion equivalent of mixing your metaphors. But pretty pretty lady! I find it a bit endearing that she always goes a bit wrong.

  • Sweetvegan

In! It’s not too literal 1940s because of the length. She looks great!

  • jjjoy

IN. she looks so much more fresh here. more of this, please.

  • janierainie

    Terrible shoe choice. out

  • Jenna Marie

The dress is fine (though unflattering from some angles) – it’s the accessories and styling that throw the look. The hair looks strange to me. I can’t call it anything but an out. It just isn’t in.

  • HM3

In. Methinks the crappy photo effects are making this look cheaper/less modern than it actually would be in person. She looks stunning.

  • Terri Terri

All I can see is that blush!

  • Vickiefantastico

In! She’s beautiful! In fact, this is a WERQ for me.

  • Anplica Fiore

The dress is a bit 80s to me (is it the metallic??), but she looks great. Has to be an IN!

  • ojosazules

It’s a bit rich between the hair and the dress. I would love to wear those shoes one time in my life, but they do not go. Out.

  • maretha2

IN! I think she’s channeling her look from American Hustle, and she looks great.

  • YoungSally

Rita Hayworth fabulosity…don’t care if it is derivative.

  • Sunshine16

In, love that copper color. Give Amy a break boys, she feels pretty in it.

  • In – she looks pretty!

  • Violentcello

I LOVE that color on her. The shape is pretty standard. Part of me wants it to be a full length gown, but maybe that wouldn’t be venue appropriate.

  • ChrisP

    IN She looks fabulous.

  • SophieCollier

OUT. Those shoes with that dress just screams “Amateur fashionista.” The fabric of the dress and the color is really striking, but from the hem down is one big NOPE. Nice hair though.

  • formerlyAnon

IN. I think she looks good; dated, tacky or not. The shoes don’t go, but I like them a lot.

  • another_laura

    Oh so close! But out.

  • In. She’s doing that Rita Hayworth thing, at least IMHO.

  • ringthing

    Love it. IN

  • ThaliaMenninger

IN. Not so fond of the shoes, but if I outed everything with shoes I hated, I would never be inning. So IN with no regard for the shoes.

  • VicD

totally in – this is gorgeous

  • LaSylphide

IN. She looks gorgeous. (I’m just pretending she’s not wearing those shoes.)

  • Alison

    In. LOVE this.

  • Truthiness2U

In. I think it all looks good…except the shoes. Which granted are a terrible choice in terms of colour, but I don’t think even they are bad enough to negate the prettiness of the rest of the look.

  • nannypoo

I don’t like the shoes and the back of the dress makes her butt look big, but otherwise she looks glamorous and gorgeous.

  • Tom Markiewicz

Out. Not 100% sure why, but it’s just off. Maybe it is just that it matches her hair too closely, or all the style choices could be from 10 years ago… Possibly a belt, her hair slicked back and some hot bitch shoes would fix it?

  • Alloy Jane

Out. Just say “NO” to Bugs Bunny shoes. Also, she looks like a shiny tube of toothpaste that’s been squeezed so hard it explodes from both ends. I also dislike the hair and the lip color and the dress. So I’ve changed my mind, this isn’t an “Out” it’s an O U T

  • aelizabethpm

IN IN IN – just not the shoes. The rest is really perfect!

  • lalahartma

  • Bethany Fairbrother

Love her look. Very glam! Love the dress,The color is fantastic on her. Hair, makeup and accessories are also on target..Only critique are the shoes. In my head, a sound effect of a record scratching sounded. (Is that normal? Probably Not).

  • Adriana_Paula

I wish the dress were floor length (the better to hide the shoes, in part) but otherwise IN.

  • YourBaloneyDontGotNoSecondName

IN. The gold dress diminishes the red in her hair, and the lipstick pulls the red in her hair out, if that makes sense. They don’t make anything clash, but the various elements, it’s like they are competing for the rights to define her hair. Everything is making her hair very interesting, which draws my eyes to her head and face. And then I see her eyes and those are the only jewels she needs. For me, in the end, it’s always about the eyes.

  • trisker

    IN. very Old Hollywood.

  • jw_ny

in…but only from the knee up, and only from the front too. Those shoes do not go at all! The fit of the dress at her waistline, and that bow, or whatever it is on her back, are not flattering…really makes her look thick. I like the copper color of the dress with her hair and skin tone…in this case.

  • AnniNoone

Head-turning and much bolder than she tends toward. I think she looks great overall. IN.

  • OpinionatedMtnGirl

OUT – That fabric comes off as cheap looking even though I am sure it is not

  • JauntyJohn

IN, largely due to the fact that she seems to really dig it.

  • Reality TV Casting

out… that color is rough on her that silhouette is making her look boxy in the middle, and those shoes are giving me acid reflux

  • altalinda

    Cookie-cutter ’40s starlet. Out.

  • MandyM

I know they don’t really go but those are some fly shoes. I don’t give a damn what else she’s wearing. She looks fine in those shoes! IN!

  • bertkeeter

LUV IT! What’s modern? Whats retro? Who cares…if it looks awesome…. and this does…wear it!

  • bitchybitchybitchy

I like the bronze metallic, and the style on Amy. I’m not totally sold on the bright red lipstick, but I will say….IN.

  • elzatelzabelz

IN- She looks disco-fabulous, except the shoes.

  • rondele

In. I think she’s rockin’ the entire look, even though it is matchy. Love the lip, and even the shoes.

  • Saturnine

In. Overall, she looks great (not digging the shoes by half, though)

  • Jacqueline Wessel

IN … l actually love the whole look.

  • sagecreek

Oh, completely IN. In fact, for her? I’d call it a WERQ.

  • quiltrx

IN. She’s clearly enjoying herself, and her hair and face look incredible.
Shoes are my only quibble…I’d rather see the pointy-toes she usually defaults to.

  • JP

IN for me. Love the dress color (I think the “matchiness” to her hair is negated by the sparkliness of the dress), the lines suit her well. While I love the shoes, I don’t think they quite go, but it’s not enough to make it out for me.

  • nickie

in. don’t like the shoes, but she does look good.

  • OUT. Length is weird. Shoes are stripper.

  • sleepycat

True the shoes don’t go, but I like the effect! IN

  • Lisa_Co

OUT. Having the dress and hair be the same color put me over the edge.

  • flamingoNW

  • unbornfawn

Love the hair and make-up. She looks glamourous. The matchy matchy dress/hair is just OK. The shoes so-so. She doesn’t usually look this good, so I am going to give her an IN.

  • amanda lynn

    IN, hot.

  • Dagney

  • Joe Schmartin

IN!!! Is there any question? She looks absolutely gor-juss!!!!

  • Green and teal statement necklace to break up that color, strappy sandals in green or teal, and please Dear God fix that boob-smooshing bodice, and she would be snaps-upping it.

  • sandradee

  • Me Again

IN. I mean, it’s like a 6.5 out of 10 on what I think her potential is, and I’m not sure I’ve ever seen her above an 8, but it’s still pretty.

  • MannahattaMamma

She’s IN but only if she gives me those shoes, which I love & which are beautiful, but do NOT go with the dress, Bronze snaps in exchange for footwear. It’s a win-win.

  • Ros

OUT. Dreadful look on her and the dress doesn’t fit properly. No, I take that back. I think it does fit, it’s just that the straight bustline does absolutely nothing for her.

  • The dress works for me, but the shoes throw the whole thing off. I’ll give it a lower case in.

  • Tatiana Luján

I reserve the out for when someone looks terrible. Though I don’t like it, she doesn’t look bad. unenthusiastic in.

  • Badriya Al-Badi’a

In, I think the dress color is smashing on her.

  • Clair Ellis

IN. I think she looks great! Live the dress!!

  • IN, although she loses valuable style points for that lipstick (both color and application).

  • EveEve

In! How nice to see a star making a real effort. Jewelry even. Yes, shoes are a miss, but Miss Amy always seems just a bit sartorially challenged, so it’s not a surprise.

  • MissFern

The problem is she’s boring thus making anything she wears de facto boring.

  • OrigamiRose

IN. I would have liked it more if it were longer, and good god, THOSE ARE DAYTIME HEELS. But other than that, I think she looks smashing.

  • Michelle Gennari

She’s lovely. I like the look!

  • Andrea

A brighter lip might break up the monochrome thing she’s working. And for some reason I can’t get behind that hemline. But on the whole I’d give a qualified IN.

  • Sarah Davis

I see this as an “attagirl. She’s being (relatively) more bold with her style choices, and we need to encourage that. IN.

  • CheriCPat

Out for matchy dress to hair, unflattering shape and wrong shoes.

  • melanie0866

OUT, because it squishes her chest and needs to be long, not that dowdy below-knee length. But I sort of love the color on her, and I don’t mind the shoes.

  • ampg

I love it! It’s sort of 70’s-doing-40’s retro glam. IN.

  • gloriana232

Style rut. She looks good but the same all the time.

    In. Love it.

  • i’m on the fence. this needs to be a long gown, and the shoes are all wrong. she needs some sparkly bare stilettos. her face and hair look gorgeous, but more color in the makeup would make the copper tones sing. i think i have to say out, but almost in.

if it were a gown, I’d say YES. As it stands, it looks like Liberace’s bath towel. so nooo

  • Rennhé García

Out, Does not looks like a dress.

  • Lauren Dorsee Dillon

IN. She looks lovely though, admittedly, literal.

  • Aaminah Khan

IN, but I wish this had been floor-length. That hem is just so awkward. The colour is great against her skin, so I can forgive the fact that it matches her hair.

In. Doesn’t send my heart racing but doesn’t make send my stomach lurching either. It’s just pretty.

In. I’ve always liked redheads in bronze. And I think Amy is well served with a semi-retro look, she has an old fashioned pinup look here and I like it. Terrible shoes though.

  • Pterodactyl111

    In. I like it.

  • ItsDicey

Wow, does that dress look cheap. OUT.

  • Jacob Bowen

Out: The shoes are bad and the hem line is awkward. If those two things are changed MAYBE in, but she can do so much better!

  • amaranth16

Not sold on the hemline or the shape of the shoe, but really digging the copper with the black patent shoes and her hair. She looks like a particularly well-executed sepia photograph. IN.

  • lrhoff

I’d say she’s “in”. Looks lovely.

  • In! She looks great except for the shoes. I know the look and stylings are expected, but she looks vavavoomy here in a good way, and the dress is a bold color in an unexpected way for her.

  • PeaceBang

I arrive belatedly to say that I love this.

  • Joey Melliza

    cocktail waitress realness!

  • Totally agree about the shoes, but she look good. In!

  • guest2visits

She looks wonderful, I love the shoes and everything she’s wearing – yet I think there is something 40s Hollywood about it too.

  • Randy Noak

Total in. She looks awesome. I couldn’t care less about the ugly shoes.

  • inchoate

I’m OK with the dress and shoes (they don’t go together, but I don’t mind that so much) but it’s overshadowed by my hatred of the lipstick. A woman with Amy Adams’ colouring shouldn’t go near a lipstick that dark and murky in tone. It makes her look like she’s pursing her lips in disapproval even when she’s not.
