A titbow I don’t mind. All hail Queen Helen.

    • Calinda_L

      Queen of the Titbows!

  • Fab UUUU Luss!!!!!! Queen Helen is in the HOUSE!

    • I wish the model photo was of Carmen dell’Orifice wearing this. If Helen Mirren is the Queen of Fuckingfantastica, Carmen is the Dowager Empress.

      • I can SOooooooo see Carmen banging this dress out of the park.

      • bitchybitchybitchy

Our fashion pantheon-Queen Helen, Dowager Empress Carmen…now what titles do we bestow on Cate and Tilda?

        • Cate would clearly have to be a Contessa. Tilda….Sultana Swinton? or Dame Tilda, O.F.E. (Order of the Fashion Empire)?

          • bitchybitchybitchy

Love the idea of the Order of the Fashion Empire!

    • bitchybitchybitchy

Queen Helen has just restored my faith in the red carpet.

    • SouthernGirlRena

I’ve been looking for you to post. Did you get to see or participate in any of the Batkid story? That is hands down my favorite story of the year. What a special city San Francisco must be to pull that off.

      • I know. I could not possibly be more proud of my fellow San Francisans for what they did for that amazing little boy. I was, sadly, at work during all of it. It still makes me smile real big.

        • SouthernGirlRena

Sorry you weren’t able to play in Gotham for a day.

          • Me too!! My inner geeky kid so wanted to play along.

          • SouthernGirlRena

It would be nice if we were all independently wealthy and just worked for fun and social interaction. I am always at work during the fun stuff too!

          • 3boysful

And I am going to be a philanthropist when I grow up. After I get fabulously wealthy. Somehow.

  • Mary229

She looks really beautiful here and she’s pulling off the bow. Is it weird though that what distracted me the most in all of this was the realization yet again that they use such young models to model dresses that really are made for older women bc God forbid an older woman be allowed to model anything? It totally distraacted me and made me subsequently bummed at the same time. I like this dress on Helen though. She’s such a beautiful woman.

    • marlie

It’s also one of those garments where the ladystar looks SOOO much better in it than the model. I don’t know if the dress is “meant” for an older woman, but Helen’s killing it in a way that the model isn’t.

      • KateShouldBeWorking

On the younger woman, I’m getting a Mail-Order Bride vibe.

    • Betsy

Hence, “Nurse Ellen’s” comment above. Should have been modeled by Carmen dell’Orifice!

    • mightbewrong

This is an awesome comment. I never thought about it before but I love the idea of having a bunch of older women strutting down runways in clothes that really suit them more than the younger models.

  • Annarosa

    WERQ for me.

    • 3boysful

      Perfection WERQ!

  • GorgeousThings

  • Isn’t this the grownup version of Kelly & Brenda’s prom dress? Queen Helen, you are better than this.

  • Telperion

I am not a fan of bows so I don’t like this one either, especially with the placement, but she looks lovely. I adore the color of her hair and she’s so graceful and beautiful.

  • Jaeda Laurez

i’m not exactly rational when it comes to Helen Mirren, but I can’t QUITE love this. I like the design of the dress, but I don’t like the shiny fabric on top.

  • Lurk-a-lot

Gorgeous and appropriate. She looks times better than the fetus modeling the dress. The earrings are fabulous but a little bit distracting.

    • Heather

Plus, the fetus modeling the dress looks like she just sucked in a giant bong hit. Who knows, maybe Helen did too, in the limo on the way over (no judgement), but she can still serve it in a way that infant cannot.

  • Tippi123

I mind the purse. Dress itself is beautiful, bow and all. Face looks pretty perfect.

  • Diego!

    BOWING! She looks stunning!

    • Clueless_Jock

I thought the dress was vintage Gianranco Ferre. Very striking.

  • nannypoo

I wish the bow was something else, like a clasp or jeweled button. It seems a little awkward. Hair and makeup are of course fabulous.

  • valerie747

    Dayum straight Skippy!

  • conniemd

Elegant, beautiful and definitely Girl This is Your Dress. It would look cheap on a lesser, younger woman like the model.

    • alyce1213

I agree. This is a Not For Models dress — better for a real woman with an actual body and incredible presence. I wish they’d have shown it on the runway with a more mature model, but they don’t do that, unfortunately.

  • It’s officially, fucking Monday. Helen Mirren is wearing a Tit Bow.
(It’s not that she looks terrible, she doesn’t, but a pink satin tit bow is what it is, no matter who is wearing it.)

    • conniemd

Pretty sure it’s an off-white, not pink, the pink tone might come from the lighting in the photo.

    • Carleenml

      how about a clavicle bow?

  • Addicted2Glamour

Cakes and pies, baby. Cakes and pies. She is Serving. It. Up. It’s too bad the background is so dark in the photos, this is head to toe perfection.

  • She looks gorgeous. I love her hair.

  • formerlyAnon

She continues to be brilliant in what she’s doing to/for her skin.

It was a Big Deal Dress occasion, and while I don’t really love giant pink satin bows, she’s pulling it off and is hitting the mark for the evening.

  • KinoEye

Not a fan of the bow, but what lovely decolletage!

    • kimmeister

It’s like, “my cleavage is my gift to the world. Enjoy.”

  • Jessica Freeman

Damn it, now I want her hair cut.

  • Chickadeep

    That hair is 100% flaw-free.

  • DaveUWSNYC

    Ave Regina Fuckentasticae!

  • Malibufire

Flawless. Stylists, this is how a woman over age 50 dresses and looks smashing.

  • Mona_Visa

I love this. She is soooo, so, beautiful. She makes my day.

  • BigWhiteGrannyPanties

How does she get her decolletage to look soooo pretty?

    • Fordzo

I was thinking the same thing, and I think there’s been some makeup airbrushed on. It’s altogether too flawless.

      • formerlyAnon

Even I have some great sheer foundation/sunscreen that even self-applied takes 10+ years off my skin and is barely noticeable even in daylight. I’m sure she’s used makeup wisely. (I’m sure she also practiced prevention and can get any treatments currently believed to improve collagen and as well as those to remove spots.)

    • Prevention and maintenance – no children, always sunscreen.

  • marlie

LOVE THIS. Only Queen Helen can make a giant bow and a boob window look *fabulous*. And her hair and makeup look gorgeous.

    • bitchybitchybitchy

This is proof that a woman with the right figure can pull off the boob window-bowing down again to my queen!

  • jspark

I just not working for me. No doubt she’s werking it. But it’s either the night-gowny satin or the not a sash/ not a bow chest piece. It looks like someone tried to dress it up… ran up stairs and artfully tied their night gown around their shoulders.

  • Carleenml

An award for that makeup. Perfection!

    • decormaven

Truly. Her face looks fabulous. Happy sigh!

  • Kent Roby

Though the dress has several elements that I generally don’t like (shiny satin, giant bow), I love everything here; Queen Helen looks gorgeous.

  • Fordzo

I don’t know…I think even Queen Helen is too young for this pink jacket/shrug thing. It just says “frumpy” to me. She is too foxy to be frumpy.

Her makeup is a work of art, though, and I love that asymmetrical bob on her.

    • martha

Totally agree about the make-up and hair!

  • Julie Ree

I needed this after Zosia first thing this morning.

    • bitchybitchybitchy

Dame Helen could give master classes to younger women in how to dress for the RC.

  • Jennifer McGuire

  • bravobravp

I just love/appreciate that fact that I think this looks better on Helen than the 20-something model.

  • Lauren Dorsee Dillon

Although she looks lovely, I’m not crazy about the way her hair color matches the satin on her shoulders and arms. It washes her out. But I still love you, Helen!

  • Danielle

  • Lilithcat

    Elegant and chic as always!

  • Kelly

Omg, it’s a bow — satin, no less — on someone over 12, and I don’t hate it! In fact, I think she looks great. The earrings seem to belong to some other outfit, though (too delicate and fussy for a look this dramatic). Would I love this dress as much if it weren’t on Helen Mirren? Probably not (I don’t love it on the model), but Mirren owns it. Her makeup looks nice, too. You can see the concealer a bit under her eyes, but I suspect that’s the flash. Love this, Helen. So glad you’re over the Italian widow thing.

  • BrooklynBomber

Nice outfit. I don’t usually like what she wears, but this is very flattering, and I like the the twist on old school glamour.

  • MoHub

    Bow down to the Queen!

  • MilaXX

I want to be her when I grow up.

  • Imasewsure

I think I would hate this on any one else but this looks perfect… Gorgeous color on top against her hair and skin and a full dress in that fabric and color would be awful… LOVE LOVE

  • Qitkat

    The Queen Rules!

  • bitchybitchybitchy

Wow.Bowing down to one of my favorites!

  • Juniper

If I had that rack, I’d put a bow on it, too. “Here, mortals, here’s a present I got for you.”

  • Nika E

    What a babe

  • NYCGlamourpuss

  • unbornfawn

    Bowing down.

  • Violina23

I hate cleavage holes… even on Queen Helen of Fuckingfantastica… sorry your highness!

  • lunchcoma

She looks amazing, but I think it’s despite the dress rather than because of it.

  • LeelaST

    Movie Star!

  • tallgirl1204

i dunno. My first reaction was that her bow was askew, and then I saw that it was designed that way. Not sure that I can give an askew bow a bow-down, but everything else is fabulous.

    • J. Preposterice

it looks like a hanbok reference in the design, and personally, I love a hanbok reference!

  • alyce1213

Perfection. The dress is elegant and flattering to her clavicular region and bosom, her hair is beautiful, and the earrings are simply to die for. Brava!

    • willworktomorrow

      My feelings exactly.

  • LaSylphide

    100% gorgeous.

  • Adriana_Paula

YAY!!! And her hair is back to the way I adore!

  • Kayemwhy yo

She looks much better than the model. PER FEC TION!

  • Tracy_Flick

She looks amazing. I think this actually wouldn’t work without the titbow. Picture just the satin top/black dress – I think it would read a little inexpensive.

  • Clydette Wantland

BAM!!! That’s how’s done. Flawless. Love her.

  • Mary Lauer

How does this woman make “breasts as a gift” look classy?! MAGIC.

  • e jerry powell

I knew that mama was out there somewhere. She needs to stop hiding.

  • Lisa M. (ReVoir) Kramp

Oh look dear, it’s Queen Helen. And she looks MAHVELOUS!

  • crash1212

Fabulous. Love her hair. That neck/shoulderline fabric is making her positively GLOW.

  • Joyce VG

    Oh my goodness. Beautiful!

  • Terri Terri

Love her, do not love the dress.

  • Trickytrisha

    Elegant and lovely. Pure class.

  • Violentcello

I love it. I never noticed her resemblance to J.K. Rowling before (or I guess, Rowling’s resemblance to her).

  • ojosazules

Who knew a huge pink bust bow could look so elegant?

  • SusannaGA

Her makeup is gorgeous, her hair looks fabulous (even if a little too pale blonde) — and those earrings! Just beautiful all the way around.

  • xmixiex

  • Stubenville

Just amazing. Does she have the best stylist ever, incredible personal taste or both?

    • SRQkitten

Incredible personal taste probably which will allow nothing but the absolutely best stylist ever. Queen of Fanfuckingtastical is right!

  • Jumpingjacks

That’s one hideous old ladies dress to the point that I would say Helen is too young for the dress.. yet she makes it sing and sparkle.

  • PeaceBang

I am going to compose an ode on her make-up and hair. Perfection.

  • Lily-Rygh

The perfect present for my birthday: A dose of Queen Helen of Fanfuckingtastica!

    • Jacqueline Wessel

      Happy Birthday!

  • quiltrx

Bam! Queen Helen knows how to work it. Terrific!

  • Gatto Nero

Dazzling, head to toe. Mere mortals quake in her presence. She puts that model to shame.

  • Jacob Bowen

    WERQ that Titbow!

  • MannahattaMamma

is it just me or does anyone else see the bow as lopsided? I know it’s *supposed* to be that way, but it reads, visually, as lopsided. My head tilts sideways and I have an overwhelming desire to reach over and straighten things out.

  • bitchybitchybitchy

When I need a pick-me-up, I’ve decided that I’m going to click on this post-love,love Queen Helen!

  • Michelle Gennari

  • EEKstl

Queen Helen showing ’em how it’s done. She is rocking it MUCH better than the model. Fuckingfantastica’s fearless ruler strikes again.

  • HM3

    I love it.
