Drew Barrymore in Tory Burch at the 2013 Baby2Baby Gala

Posted on November 12, 2013

This is sweet:

Drew Barrymore attends the 2013 Baby2Baby Gala held at The Book Bindery in Culver City, California in a Tory Burch dress paired with a Tory Burch minaudière from the Spring 2014 collection.

Tory Burch Spring 2014 Collection

Much better than her last attempt at roomy and comfortable on the RC. Granted, it does look a little like a floor length hospital gown from the back but she’s pregs and she’s earned the right not to give a fuck. The fabric is pretty and it looks good from the front. As long as she never turns her back on anyone, she’s chic.

the necklace with her daughter’s name made me smile 🙂

  • RussellH88

Pregnancy is turning Drew Barrymore into Sarah Paulson.

    • Jenna Marie

I was thinking more “Josie Grossie”

  • Blair Sylvester

why is a pregnant woman carrying a flask?

    • YousmelllikeAnnaWintour

LOL. I thought the same thing.

    • Not applicable

because she’s a Barrymore. It’s like standard issue.

    • NinaBoo

First thing I saw was the cigarette cases my aunts used to carry around in the ’60s and ’70s. But a flask is spot on.

    • I was going to say the same. It’s so Drew (very playful) to be visibly preggers while sporting a fancy flask. But Disqant was being a dick, and I had to move on.

  • Okay, she gets a pass because she’s preggers. But that fabric is horrendous! Horrible dress. It would have been nicer without the sleeves. The necklace is the best thing about this look.

    • Caaro3

I agree with you about the sleeves. The fabric is pretty and gosh, do I love the name Olive! Truly.

  • Jessica Freeman

Its pretty, but too big. Also, your purse looks like a flask, mommy.

  • marlie

Drew looks pretty. It’s very “Earth Mother,” and it suits her easy-breezy persona.

  • marlie

Ignore this. Disqus (or my computer?) is doing some really funky things right now.

  • OrigamiRose

My favorite detail is the necklace with her daughter’s name.

  • tonibaloney

Her face is stunning. So beautiful. Love the blush lip color and her hair is looking so sleek and shiny!

  • hughman

“I am the Angel of Sleep. No, no, don’t say anything. Sshhhh. Just drink some of this delicious martini with an olive and gently nod off. Sweet dreams.”

  • I don’t really think it needs to be *that* roomy. She looks gorgeous though.

    • Heather

Agreed. How far along is she? Also, it’s roomer in the back than in the front, which seems odd.

      • AnguaVonUberwald

I dunno, I always needed extra room in the back before I needed extra room in the front with my pregnancies. Those without large behinds might not have this issue, but I always ended up looking like the letter S.

  • Imasewsure

The sleeves were a bad idea and she probably could have sized down a bit (particularly since she didn’t actually buy the dress and doesn’t need to wear it later in her “time”). Cute though and much improved for sure

    • alyce1213

I think she wears clothing with sleeves, or has them added, for modesty (Tznius) since she converted to Judaism.

  • MsALVA

I know it’s supposed to be roomy, but it looks too big on her. A little tailoring around the bodice and a little off the hem of the skirt and it would have been perfect. Right now it looks like a very fancy nightgown.

    • cakecakecake

Definitely needs to be taken in at the waist, a bit!

  • SewingSiren

Lynda Bird Johnson circa wedding gown.

  • Kelly

Sorry, TLo, I can’t get on board with this one. It’s too big, too long, too insipid in terms of color and print, and it looks like a hospital gown from the back *and* the front. And she must give a fuck at least to some extent, or she wouldn’t be bothering with designer duds in the first place. So I think she either needs to step up her game a bit or else *really* not give a fuck and skip the high-end fashion statements entirely.

  • Does anybody know if Drew has always had that lazy looking eyelid? No shade, but I’m getting chills because I also have one and I always think of her as my celeb counterpart (exact same age, similar style, similar life travails, etc.)

  • teensmom99

Drew needs to wear actual maternity clothes.

  • Dani

All I can say is, why?

  • crash1212

Theo only thing I find fetching about Drew’s version of this dress IS the back. The model version would’ve served the same roomy purpose, but is much cuter and would be more flattering. I love her necklace – SO sweet. Also, her smile is everything.

  • Lilithcat

No! Aren’t we past the days when pregnant women wore muu-muus? Because that’s what this looks like. Not only that, but a muu-muu that’s too large for her. The model version is much better, and could easily be adapted for an expanding tum.

    • ampg

It’s tough, because she seems to be at that in-between stage where she has less of a defined bump and more of a too-many-cheeseburgers thing going on. In a month it’ll be easier for her to wear a more fitted look.

  • Danielle

Tory Burch continues to underwhelm me.

  • If she weren’t pregnant I’d suspect her purse was just a well-disguised flask. Hell, maybe it is, but with something for heartburn.

  • Qitkat

Fresh-faced and pretty, but too pale for her. The minaudière is so cool.

Pregnancy does not mean that you don’t have to give a fuck. It is actually, in my opinion, the time to make some pretty ground breaking fashion decisions that can challenge people’s assumptions about beauty and femininity. That dress fits in nicely with the 1950s view of what women should wear when pregnant and is borderline offensive IMHO.

    • cakecakecake

      Preach, sister! (RE: my comment)

  • Trickytrisha

    Nightgown. Neat little bag though.

  • Ann VerWiebe

Drew looks really happy – and really grown-up.

  • cakecakecake

I’m sorry but this looks like what my 87 year old grandmother wears around the house. You can be pregnant and want to look and feel comfy, and NOT wear hospital gowns.

    • cakecakecake

Does anyone else feel like it could’ve been taken in a bit at the waist? Just a tiny bit?

      • marishka1

At least just under the bust, make it a little more Empire. This looks like a Gunny Sack.

  • ashtangajunkie

Her hair is looking gorgeous. I think she looks beautiful – the dress is a bit shapeless, but I don’t mind it at all.

  • bellafigura1

I hate it, I really do, but she seems so serene and happy that I’m all like, eh, good for you, Drew, do whatever, I’m on your team.

  • nannypoo

She is adorable. I would love for her to be my friend, but she will never be my fashion icon.

  • boweryboy

I don’t care what anyone says, it is a hospital gown.

  • kalisa

    Early 70s wedding gown.

  • rissa42210

that bag looks like a flask. not a good look on a pregnant lady. the dress was so much cuter without the sleeves! but yea, she looks better than usual.

  • Deborah McLaughlin

Why can’t these girls find a dress that actually fits?

  • LaSylphide

Drew looks exactly how Drew should always look: pretty and happy.

  • She looks so happy!

  • DuBey2

Well, I hate the dress. Love Drew, though!

  • quiltrx

For some reason the bag looked like a flask from a distance, which is weird with the preggo/psych ward dress.

  • ItAin’tMe

Hair and make up pretty. Dress is better without sleeves.

  • tereliz

It’s a pretty color and a pretty fabric. Her head looks great. Couldn’t it have been a little more fitted in the bodice, with an empire seam?

  • bitchybitchybitchy

A big improvement over that caftanish look last week. It’s simple, best of all she looks truly happy!
