We’re going through a dire time for shoes at the moment, aren’t we? Like the dress although I am not totally convinced by the hip tassles. And I love the blue hair.

      • siriuslover

I love her blue hair as well. It actually works for her. And I’m not digging the tassles either. In the first picture, the way she’s holding her arm, I thought the tassles were a clutch.

      • filmcricket

That shade of blue is the kind of thing all of us were dying to get back when I was in university, and the only way to achieve it was with Kool-Aid. Either blue hair dye has come a long way, or Demi’s head smells like fruit punch.

        • foodycatAlicia

Blue hair dye has come a long way!

        • cheekypinky

*SUCH* a long way! You can get anything from ink-blue to true peacock at this point–it’s pretty awesome.

    • bravobravp

Love everything about this but the tassels. Looks like the end of a carpet is attached to her hip.

      • charlotte

I think it looks like an ammunition belt. Her toes have been killed already.

    • Sobaika

Hmm. The tassels have got to go but they’re the only thing keeping this from being a simple black dress.

      • NYCGlamourpuss

        Yeah, it’s a problem.

    • gabbilevy

Those are the ugliest shoes I’ve seen in a looooong time. Thinking this is a GTNYD. Love the blue hair.

      • tereliz

        I’m thinking it’s a GWBTNYD (Girl with Boobs…)

    • Isana Leshchinskaya

hair’s 10 years too young, dress’s 20 years too old. go home.

      • Bexxx

I never understood the age limit on colored hair.

        • Heather

Agreed; plus, girl is 21. When else can you have blue hair?

    • Dana WhatTheFrock

I like everything but the tassels and shoes, but this is too old for her.

    • Irish Rodriguez Reyes

The only thing that ticks me off is the blue hair because I want to dye my own the same shade and I’ll be damned if the local teeny boppers think I did it to look like Demi.

      • fursa_saida

I recently shaved part of my hair, only to realize that it’s become The Thing, and that probably Miley Cyrus has a lot to do with that. I’m keeping it, because I damn well like it, but DAMMIT.

        • Irish Rodriguez Reyes

          Just the worst, isn’t it?

        • formerlyAnon

Not fair, but on those who can pull it off (and obviously you can or you wouldn’t like it) it’s an awesome look. So stick with it.

          • fursa_saida

Thank you for this inspirational message, friend!

        • Bexxx

That was totally A Thing before Miley did it. I had that haircut in 2009.

          • fursa_saida

Oh, it was definitely A Thing. But these days it appears to be The Thing. I see it everywhere now.

            • demidaemon

Yes, it’s a conundrum. One that can be solved by owning it and a well-placed, “I thought of this first, so shut it, bitches!” :)

        • save_the_hobbit

I did a side-cut on my birthday earlier this year, and I share your pain. “Oh you did your hair to look like Miley right?”

    • CommentsByKatie

I feel like I love the idea but it didn’t work. The shoes are horrible and the dress is a little yawn-y and dowdy…peplum, really? Girl, even I don’t wear peplum anymore. Love your hair.

    • frannyprof

Love the blue hair, hate everything else.

    • Lori

This is frumpy and unflattering on her and those shoes are ugly. I like the blue hair though. Both fun and thematic. It’s the only thing about this that goes with her actual age.

    • Laura Renee

Ooh, I love her curves. At least the dress shows them off to good effect.

    • Anne At Large

It’s amazing how sometimes all the details on a black outfit just disappear in photos. All I can see is that somebody’s sporran seems to be very lopsided.

      And Dear God, Those Shoes.

    • sagecreek

I actually think she’s carrying the dress well, but what’s with that hair? It’s not blue enough to be fun and youthful, and it’s too blue to look flattering.

    • ralish

      Unflattering. All of it.

      • NMMagpie

    • MilaXX

Like the look . Hate the shoe

    • Kathy

The dress looks a little like a funereal bagpipe costume, although oddly, I kind of like that.

    • fursa_saida

The shoes are a horror. The rest…I get all the criticisms being made below, but I sort of can’t get over that one shot of her face. I don’t think I’ve ever seen her look so pretty.

      • BarniClaw

Agreed. And I love those freckles!

      • kimmeister

She has a very pretty face, but so often it is not well served by her hair color and makeup choices. This time, it’s the lip color that is off to me.

    • KateShouldBeWorking

That top is blousy in a bad place but goddammit if I’m not wildly envious of that hair.

    • Sarah

I think that she is werqing the hell outta that dress, and while I personally woulda put a cami in there, I’m not mad at it. I could do without the tassels, but they don’t bother me that much, compared to those clodhoppers. Bad, bad clodhoppers! Pretty feet, ladies! Why don’t you want them?

      • marlie

I don’t even think she needs a cami – maybe just a little more sure for the girls?

        • Sarah

I think you’re right. It’s more just an unfortunate camera angle, I think.

          • marlie

Oops… Meant “support” for the girls. Perils of typing on a phone. :P

            • Sarah

I understood, though. Sure = support. “I’m supported, so I’m sure my boob won’t fall out.” Haha

    • susan6

I wish I had the guts to have blue hair. It works on her. The dress, unfortunately, does not.

      • annabelle archer

I would love to go vibrant, like that.

        • Fordzo

I work in healthcare with the elderly, and one of my patients is 84 years old and her hair it silver on top, but the under layers have been colored hot pink and purple. She rocks it! I love, love, love seeing her around. Yesterday she called me about some meds and I asked her if she could come over to where I was working and she said (it was around 11:30 am), “I’m not even dressed yet! I’m enjoying my music, the paper and strawberry jam! And my bed! I’ll be over around 2.” I’ve never met anyone who just ENJOYS LIFE as much as she does.

Want to love her even more? She goes by the name Frenchie. I asked her once why her nickname is Frenchie (her real name is either Patricia or Margaret, I can’t remember) and she said that when she was a girl, she was a wonderful kisser and so all the boys started calling her Frenchie and it stuck.

          • Sarah

I have a new old-lady idol. HELL YES.

          • foodycatAlicia

            Oh wow. I love her!

          • enuma

The main reason I stopped dyeing my hair wild colors is that my natural hair color is very dark, and I got sick of having to bleach it first. So I vowed to myself that when I’m old and completely gray, I will have nonstop Kool-Aid colored hair.

I think this lady might be my spirit animal.

          • marlie

            She sounds AWESOME. :)

          • gigi kennedy

oh she sounds absolutely fabulous!! thank you for sharing her zeal for life. love it!

      • foodycatAlicia

I would love blue hair, but my husband has this theory that women with really artificial hair colours are making a cry for help because their husbands are mean to them… so if I have blue hair I will be saying to him that I think he is mean to me even though his theory is rubbish. Conundrum.

        • WendyD

That is complete rubbish! What about single women with fun hair color? LAME!

          • foodycatAlicia

Or, in fact, any woman who just likes to play around a bit with fashion. He has very conservative notions about fashion and beauty, poor love, so I am not sure why he married me.

    • annabelle archer

The best pic is the headshot. Gorgeous girl, lovely smile, brilliant hair. That dress is not her friend and those shoes are a crime.

      • decormaven

        Nailed it.

    • crash1212

Oh honey, no. No to all of it. Your bestie should be throwing a blanket over you and taking you home right now…before other photographers can see you.

    • deathandthestrawberry

      Those shoes hurt my feelings.

    • Darcy H

I can’t believe I’m saying this, but her blue hair is aging her like whoa. Maybe it’s the style as well?

Also her stylist should be shot for letting her wear those shoes.

    • nowlo

Definitely the wrong shoes for that dress. The dress I kinda like, but I think it’s a bit too mature for her. The hair is fun and the face is gorgeous.

    • Josefina Madariaga Suárez

The dress is on the tight side (and she probably needs a bra), but other than that she looks good. The blue hair goes a long way in making this less matronly and severe.

    • KinoEye

That gold fringe on the left side is strange. Hate, hate, HATE the shooves.

      • Imasewsure

        SHOOVES!! Yes

    • lunchcoma

That dress is too old for her. Hell, it’s probably too old for her mother.

No one of any age should wear those shoes.

    • boweryboy

She looks like she’s holding her breath. Hate the shoes.

    • nannypoo

Pretty face. Everything else is bad.

    • pookiesmom

She looks wonderful from the neck up, but that suit says power broker to me, not pop star. Girl needs to edge things up, MAJORLY.

    • PastryGoddess

She actually had me until we got to those shoes. It’s not world changing or interesting, but it fits and makes her body look amazing.

    • quiltrx

This dress does NOT go with blue hair. Not a bit of fun to be found. And it’s tight and makes her look really wide somehow.
Those shoes aren’t worth talking about.

    • Zuber

How old is she? 54? Aging, Short, Dumpy and Fat

      • Imasewsure

I wouldn’t say fat (plus we are not supposed to be body snarking, remember!!) she just looks way way way curvy but not in a good way… and certainly not in way that helps keep her out of the mid-50’s Cougar territory she so seems to want to inhabit. So strange!!

    • marlie

Her hair is a really gorgeous color, and I kind of like it! The dress is fine, but those shoes are TRAGIC.

    • formerlyAnon

I like. (Yes, even the shoes, though faintly.)

    • sleah_in_norcal

snooze…if i see another black dress i’ll…i don’t know, i’ll think of something. the blue hair is the only thing stopping me from throwing her out the window of my mind.

    • Fordzo

The tassels look a little more luxurious on the model’s dress. As a result, I think it makes the dress Demi is wearing look cheap in a cheap way.

But, man oh man! I’d give anything for half her curves.

    • princessricky

how you gonna put a more interesting color on your head than on your lips?? dang.

    • alyce1213

I like the color blue of her hair, would love to see more of it and less of this too-old-for-her and badly fitted dress. She needs a fun, sassy dress. The shoes — oh my.

    • ItsDicey

Stuffed in sausage casing. Wearing hooves. No.

    • Aaminah Khan

Oh, gurl. That conjunctivitis eye makeup is doing you no favours.

    • BigWhiteGrannyPanties

HATE THAT HAIR. WHAT THE HELL? Coco said before you leave the house, take one thing off, right? How about the hair, the tassels, the tattoo, and etc….

    • MoHub

I’d say burn the shoes, but the fumes that would result would offend my environmental sensibilities.

    • MartyBellerMask

I don’t like the tassles but at least the placement isn’t horrifying. And they add some interest, so they get a pass from me.
      I like the blue hair!

    • WendyD

Facially, she’s a dead ringer for Pippa Middleton!

    • Crystal

    • jw_ny

I never realized she was so curvy…great dress to accentuate it! It needs something tho to zhuzh it up. Hate the shoes…a classic black or metallic pump would have been better. That awful Marge-Simpson-blue-hair has got to go. That, and the severe brow, detract from her natural beauty.

    • martha

Love the blue hair. Also LOVE the bracelets!

    • Kayemwhy yo

    • willworktomorrow

There’s a lot not to like about this look, but WOW… those curves make this dress look so much better on her than on the model. She brings it to life.

    • gsk241

I love what her curves do for the dress, but it looks a bit tight. Maybe she should go up a half a size. And that hair is a NO.

    • paintedfish

someone forgot to fluff those tassles

    • xmixiex

god those shoes are ugly. not crazy about the tassles, but the whole thing looks good on her.

    • save_the_hobbit

Love the hair color (mine is usually a raspberry pink color but I recently had to dye it brown for a potential job), and although I hate the top, her ass looks FANTASTIC. Never been a huge fan of her, but she actually is very gorgeous. Curves for daaaays.

      • xmixiex

Agreed, I dunno a damn thing she does, but she’s beautiful.

    • Diesel von Trapp

Why would a teenage (or whatever) girl wear a business suit on the red carpet?

    • newtonGOTbeaned

She looks surprisingly good with blue hair. Like, maybe the best she’s looked ever? And the dress fits and doesn’t suck. I hope she keeps wearing things that no one from the Real Housewives of Wherever or Jersey Shore would ever be caught dead in.

    • MichelleRafter

Unfortunate that her blue hair matches the movie poster she’s posing in front of. And what happened to the tassels? On the runway version there were about 3X as many, which looked great.

    • pdquick

      “And THIS…is my badonkadonk!”
