Chris Hemsworth spotted on the set of his new film “In The Heart of the Sea” in the Canary Islands

  • Jen Freeman

    Needs less layers

    • MoHub

      It’s a period costume.

      • Jen Freeman

I was implying that I’d prefer him naked…

        • MoHub

I guessed as much, but other posters seem to think he’s wearing his own clothes rather than a costume.

  • charlie

    saggy butt much?

    • The Counselor

That might be on purpose–he lost weight for this role, and I think a progressive weight loss might be in character? So they might make the costuming choice to put him in baggier clothes to highlight that (like I thought they did with the Governor in last night’s Walking Dead episode). Hard to know without context for these shots.

  • Nicholas

Very Heath Ledger from A Knight’s Tale.

    • kmk05

And it gave me a pang when I scrolled down!

    • Spicytomato1

I was thinking Pitt 2.0, although I see your perspective now, too.

    • TropiCarla

One of my fave Friday-night-on-the-couch movies. It is so bittersweet watching him.

    • decormaven

      My first thought as well.

    • Jessica Wyatt

Same thought! Although my first reaction was “The Patriot…”

  • hughman

    Hipster Brooklyn : “What movie?”

    • leahpapa

True story. I am a recent Brooklyn evacuee who, on an ill-advised trip back recently, spotted a person with – I am not making this up – a kerosene lantern in a lieu of a bike lamp on his fixie. As Portlandia would say, the dream of the (18)90s is alive in Brooklyn.

  • HomeOfficeGirl

Not too much to say here… he’s got a whiff of Brad Pitt in that 2nd shot.

    • gabbilevy

But Brad finally cut his hair!! Rejoice!!

  • lexilexi

The cuter of the two. To me.

    • Scimommy

Can’t even tell who is technically cuter but he is the more pleasing of the two (to me).

  • Sarah

I am always looking for these pants for a girl. And, you know, fitting. I always end up in costumery shops online. Not what I want. Sigh. Time to fabricate my own pants, I guess.

    • Ginny Ellsworth

It is that exact reason I learned to sew. :-)

  • misstressofsylar

Just watched Thor today and the sight of his naked torso didn’t even move my pants. Now, Loki in that “Kiss” getup, whew!

  • rissa42210

Gross. What a horrible waste of a beautiful piece of man.

  • gabbilevy

    Ah, period dress.

  • WendyD

OMG please tell me he’s going to be on a tall ship at some point in this movie (it’s about a shipwreck, right?)
I’m a complete sucker for men on tall ships.

    • Reneesance

I’m right there with you. My first thought was “Oh is he a pirate??”

  • MilaXX

I saw the thumbnail and was hoping this was Tom Mison. Chris isn’t doing a thing for me here.

    • porcupie

I think Chris looks adorable here, but I second the call for some Tom Mison. He’s so ridiculously good looking that I cannot watch Sleepy Hollow without being distracted by his face.

      • AnguaVonUberwald

At least once an episode I say, out loud, “He is just SO pretty.” My husband just sighs and nods.

        • not_Bridget

In a recent interview, Orlando Jones said “I’m straight, but the man is beautiful…”

          • misstressofsylar

recent Sleepy Hollow convert here. the man’s voice could rival Cumberbatch’s.

      • julnyes

I get all flustered when he says Leftenant to Abigail

    • AnguaVonUberwald

I don’t know about you, but I almost always hope for Tom Mison.

  • foodycatAlicia

I’m starting to wonder if the picture of him recently looking much thinner was down to the cut of the suit. He certainly looks like his shoulders are big enough here!

    • tereliz

I’m blaming the photographer for giving him distorted proportions in that abomination of a pap shot.

  • Blair Sylvester

That hair is how I wish my hair looked when I’m too lazy to wash it in the morning or more accurately I wish I had his face to carry said hair off

  • DaveUWSNYC

Them duds don’t flatter the butt, do they?

    • quiltrx

      Agreed, total buttsack!

  • formerlyAnon

Unflattering period clothing: I approve. I hate when they mess with period clothing to make it look like everyone is a Movie Star, even if their character is doing field work or tracking someone through a swamp, with no bathing facilities within 200 miles.

Still think he’s the cuter brother.

  • frannyprof

    Hello, Sailor!

  • tereliz

    Him. Me. Desert island. ANYTIME.

  • MinAgain

I really loved this book. I hope they do it justice.

  • Jennifer Peters-Ahnberg

    Ooooo. Piratey.

  • Kimmu

I know I am going to be going to hell because I know without a shadow of a doubt I will be thinking “He is so fucking hot” while watching him slowly starve and resort to cannibalism. The cannibalism will probably somehow make it hotter.

I’ve read the book. I love the book. I am so psyched for this movie and sosososo excited he’s Owen Chase.

  • conniemd

    mmmmmm scruffy hot male.

  • quiltrx

I love his haircut. And his smile. And the way his eyes crinkle when he smiles.
With some styling, he could be the lost member of Duran Duran.

  • Derek_anny

Hello cute background guy in the first picture.

  • Diego!

He doesn’t look so skinny here as last week! Thank God!

  • Richard Banger

He’s soooo much cuter without the blonde hair

  • Raymond Dnomyar

  • H2olovngrl

    This one is Thor, right?

  • guest2visits

Dirty castaway look has no power over Hemsworth smile.
