Wow, it’s so cold in NYC that you need a beanie and a hoodie? I am envious. We don’t have fall.

Anyways, he looks very Spock in the real world-ish here.

    • Adrianna Grężak

The temperature dropped to 50 degrees and everyone is bundling up!

    • Latin Buddy

It snowed in Chicago earlier this week

      • MoHub

In the Maryland mountains as well.

        • bitchybitchybitchy

We have a frost warning tonight in the Md. suburbs of DC.

          • MoHub

What part of the ‘burbs are you in? I’m in Silver Spring.

          • bitchybitchybitchy

            I’m in Lanham, almost Greenbelt.

        • Rhonda Shore

          i’m in Bethesda!

    • Sarah

I’m south of the Mason Dixon and it is 48 out right now. Weird, but true.

    • FeminineLipstique

It was, I am not exaggerating, 85 frickin’ degrees on the first Friday of October in NYC. We had a mild snap and all of a sudden this week it became fall. So we’re all a little shell shocked and quivering in our scarves and boots.

      • MilaXX

yep that’s what makes it tough, we went from sweating to freezing overnight. I’m still digging thru boxes to get dressed

      • KinoEye

Strangely enough, sounds like Texas weather. Stepped out the other day, and it was 70; not two hours later it dropped to 45. But you won’t hear me complaining. I live for cold weather, and all the wonderful fashion that comes with it.

    • alyce1213

Cold and windy, very clear skies.

      • thecitysleeps

Sounds like heaven to me! We’ll be sweating till December.

    • jjtxgrrl

Well its a muggy 72 this morning in central Texas. I envy those that have fall.

    • Daktari100

Apparently readers are more interested in discussing the weather than Zachary’s jeans. Love the boots, and really love those pups!

  • Jennifer

  • Well, now you’re doing this on purpose, TLo.
And the doggies match each other!

  • MilaXX

He looks cute in a I don’t give a damn it’s cold and I gotta walk the dofgs kinda way.

  • KinoEye

They’re making their own “Hot Celebrity Men Walking Dogs” site — I guess if you want something done right, you do it yourself!

  • Scoobydrew

I will now spend the rest of my day making up stories as to why he has his doggies muzzled.

    • StellaZafella

Looks more like a “Head lead” for training dogs that are easily distracted…the leash wouldn’t attach to a muzzle.

    • Glam Dixie

It’s actually just a type of leash, doesn’t muzzle them at all.

    • Not a muzzle. It’s a head halter for better control of unruly dogs on leash. The big one is a bit of a bad dog, apparently.

      • Carrie

I was at an event where Quinto had Noah (the big dog) with him. He’s extremely affectionate and attention loving. I’d say it’s less bad dog and more just easily distracted.

    • cocohall

I use something similar on my corgi who believes she is a sled dog and pulls like she is running the Iditarod. It has helped, although she gives me the evil eye and back-talks me whenever she sees the lead. I have a lab twice her size who is much easier to handle. I cannot imagine trying to control two dogs in NYC, especially if one was a “puller.” My beanie/hoodie is doffed to Mr. Quinto!

      • Maybe she saw the old commercial that actually has a Corgi sled dog team. Search youtube.

        • cocohall

You’re a doll for sharing this. Yes, I believe my corgi has seen this and has dreams of glory . . .

    • littlemac8

It’s called a gentle leader and most dogs try to rub it off but it really does help control dogs who normally pull on the leash and doesn’t hurt the dog.

  • TrixieConQueso

Note blue bag – this star cleans up after his dogs. YAY. Stars. Sometimes they are just like us!

    • I was looking out for the poop bag too. I think Jackman’s were orange.

      • Nicoclaws

Are we judging poop bags too now ?

  • pocketcopter

Responsible dog owners warm the cockles of my cold heart. That Zachary Quinto is one is even better because I like the way he puts himself together. Leather jackets and jeans are always appealing even if that hoodie is a touch on the doofy side.

Now…What kind of dogs are those? Is the one on the right a Schnauzer?

    • MikeW_Vegas

I believe they’re both Schnauzers.. one is a standard, and the other is a minature.. (I could be wrong, though)

      • the little ‘un could have a bit of Border Terrier?

        • pocketcopter

          I can see that!

    • Amy

Super cute dogs! They look like mixes to me–purebred schnauzers would have docked tails.

      • pocketcopter

Thanks for the info! I have a hard time with dog identification when I can’t see them from all angles a la WKC Dog Show.

      • I was so happy to see that the tails weren’t docked. Barbaric practice.

  • DesertDweller79

Wow. It is 90 degrees here today. It made me laugh to see him in a hoodie and a jacket.

On a related note: I think every day should feature a post about men with their dogs.

    • marlie

I wore a fleece jacket today, and I’m not entirely happy about it.

  • hughman

Faux scruffy combat boots, sad doggies, black hoodie = “will Spock for food.”

  • KML

But what are the NAMES of the dogs?

    • savicevic

Noah is the bigger one; the other is Skunk.

  • marlie

Zachary and Hugh need to have a puppy play date. I’d pay just to sit and watch that.

  • Noah

His dog leashes are complimentary colors. He can do no wrong.

  • boweryboy

He looks so much like my first boyfriend in that first photo it’s freaking eerie. Which is to say, he looks delicious!

    • Oh well done! Every time I see pictures of my early boyfriends I am horrified by how unattractive they are. Having one who looked like ZQ is quite a coup.

      • boweryboy

This was the early ’90s so it’s up in the air whether or not he still looks the same. In any case, I’m always taken by the striking resemblance between the two.

  • Trickytrisha

I’ve never found this guy to be attractive, but he IS interesting. There’s something there that just commands your attention (not the dogs, dears), so he’s always fun to see.

    • DTLAFamilies

I didn’t get him either when all I knew of him was still photos, but then I saw him as Spock and woof. Got it.

      • Julie Parr

I bed dollars to doughnuts that if one saw him on the street, you’d be knocked over by his beauty. There are some celebs who seem odd in some way but in person they just shine above all others. I thought this about Beth Stern before I saw her on the street.

        • Trickytrisha

Heh, someone’s Freudian slip is showing?

          • Julie Parr

OMG totally. I went back to try to change it/point out this same thing and the site wasn’t working. But yes, indeed. He is striking.

    • alyce1213

He’s so much more moving and talking.

  • formerlyAnon

  • Close ups on the puppies too! Thank you, photog.

  • AnguaVonUberwald

Those are the cutest goddamn dogs I have ever seen. Man’s not too bad, either.

  • bingo

I loved his “hey Republicans, voting makes you Gay” segment on the Daily Show this week.

  • flamingoNW

  • eight_of_nine

I saw him at the Kips Bay AMC Theatre a few weeks ago! I was on the down escalator and he was going up. It made me happy after crying through the last ~20 minutes of Gravity. XD

  • Josefina Madariaga Suárez

He has two dogs, he wins this round.

  • quiltrx

Finally, someone who understands it’s fall!
    Those dogs are seriously adorable!

  • ItsDicey

  • Ooooh…I want that little dog on Zak’s left. So cute.
