Tom Hiddleston at the “Thor: The Dark World” Seoul premiere

Posted on October 16, 2013

None of you sweaty fangurls are even going to care that he’s dressed like a funeral director, are you?

Tom Hiddleston attends the ‘Thor: The Dark World’ premiere at Time Square on in Seoul, South Korea.

Black suit, white shirt, black tie. Revolutionary.

We’re done here.

The cosplayers are showing more style.

obviously the solution is for him to remove those boring clothes immediately

    • titaness25

I respect and endorse that opinion.

  • Jaeda Laurez

You are absolutely right. Do Not Care.
He can have all the cookies. ALL OF THEM.

    • Nicholas

OM NOM NOM NOM NOM. :P

  • misstressofsylar

I just need to look at that clip of him dancing and singing Man In The Mirror and all is forgiven. and nope, I haven’t replayed it at least a hundred times. No Sir!

    • MilaXX

I didn’t know about the Man in the Mirror clip. I had to google. I think I love him even more.

      • ashtangajunkie

Me too. He can wear funeral attire from now until the Oscars, for all I care.

      • misstressofsylar

Celebitchy is an amazng treasure trove of all things Cumberbatch and Hiddleston!

    • another_laura

Okay, that is completely adorable. I only know him from his non-Marvel-based appearances.

    • random_poster

I melted into a puddle when I saw that. I would have little interest in seeing that movie if it weren’t for him. I find myself looking forward to the Loki scenes in the Avengers, even more so than the scenes with Chris x 2.

      Signed,
Proud to be a sweaty fangurl

    • Maggie Smith

Oh dear gods, Thank You for mentioning that! I googled. And I died of cute!

    • julnyes

      Loki: The Loki Loki

  • prettybigkitty

    I love Loki.

  • Glam Dixie

Why don’t I ever see actual funeral directors that look like that?

    • Fordzo

      I’d let him embalm me.

Or maybe I’d just let him rub balm on me. Either, or.

  • MmmmmmmmK

Oh my lord, no. We just get a little more sweaty.

  • Lucía Gavello

It’s a good thing that he’s ready for a funeral because his smile is killing me.

PS: Hawkeye is bringing it with the posing.

    • shorty j

seriously, I am crushing super-hard on Hawkeye right now. Especially since my eye is hinting that they MIGHT be a butchy lady in Hawkeye drag. (Or maybe that’s just wishful thinking.)

  • MilaXX

Oh TLo I was hoping you would include the video of him seriously busting a move to some K-pop song. The man can dance!

  • Imasewsure

I love how happy he always looks on the RC but hot funeral director is just not doing it for me right now….

    • misstressofsylar

I love Tom H because he’s a dork and he’s always happy at press interviews. He looks like he’s always excited.

      • MilaXX

Yes I love an actor who appreciates the fans enough to always play along.

  • http://www.youtube.com/user/TheOctocornNetwork International Model

Even Wednesday Addams needs a pinup, sirs.

    • Adriana_Paula

      I think I love you.

  • Sarah Thomas

    Nope. Do not care.

Though I do have to give props to the fabulous Hawkeye behind him. I had no idea Psy was such a fan!

  • Meg0GayGuys6

He’s the best executor of more than just smiling into the camera. Some people turn that into finger guns or thumbs up, but Hiddleston does the goofy photos so well. It’s really endearing. I hope I never see him plain smile into a camera :)

  • http://phantomminuet.blogspot.com/ MinAgain

No, we are not. Because Tom is adorable, and we love him.

  • formerlyAnon

Nope, don’t care at all he’s in black & white. I’d go so far as to say it’s nice to see him in a suit of any description. I do appreciate that his shoes aren’t ugly. Bottom line: Attractive IMO, and more or less objectively (ha) adorable.

  • Chase

As long as he’s wearing that face, no. I don’t care that his suit is boring.

    • ashtangajunkie

      Word.

  • http://dontmakeitlikeimdumb.blogspot.com/ annabelle archer

Are they making a sequel to Reservoir Dogs?

  • MGMcD

I’ll answer that question in the words of Lana Kane – NOPE!

    • JDreesen

      (danger zone!)

      sorry. had to.

  • Eclectic Mayhem

I’ve tried really, really hard NOT to get on the whole Hiddlestonian train thing but then I watched his Nerd HQ Q&A session (youtube it!) from this year’s ComicCon and damn if he isn’t just the most delightful, humble, gorgeous, ginger fellow!

    *sigh*

    • random_poster

That, too, was the turning point for me.

    • Bridget Smith

Give in. Come over to the dark side. Resistance is futile when the temptation is this adorable.

  • lunchcoma

Well, maybe a little. Unlike a lot of his contemporaries, he doesn’t seem to hate wearing formal clothing and has some concept of what fits and flatters him. It would be nice if he was a little more daring, because I think he has it in him to be pretty stylish.

But that smile makes up for a whole lot of boring.

  • kirkyo

I suppose the crime is we have little to talk about but I think he looks great.

  • Bethany Roullett

I’m a Hiddlestoner through and through, but man, now I feel bad. I kind of feel like I somehow forced TLo into posting this, and now I’ve been scolded. :( I don’t want to make the Uncles angry! (But we’d still like them if they were angry, I think.)

But thank you for the Hiddles. Even if you’re done with him.

  • Fordzo

    God Bless Sausage Fri..oh, wait.

    God Bless Hump Day.

    • ShaoLinKitten

Can we have Hump Day and Sausage Friday? That would be awesome.

      • Fordzo

        I second that notion!

  • Trickytrisha

He’s a cutie pie with extra cheese, but gosh darn it – I cannot for the life of me see him as a Norse god. I didn’t see the movie, though, so what do I know. He’s more the kindly, lovable nerd type for me. Dressed like this, he’s ready to usher you into the Slumber Room to say goodbye to your great-grandpa. (tip of the hat to Uncles for that reference)

    • GillianHolroyd

Ah. Well he does look more god-like in his black-haired Loki wig. You might have to google the Loki in Stuttgart scene to be convinced though.

    • lunchcoma

Loki is meant to be the thoughtful, sensitive, different one in the family. Acting fills in the transition from that to egomaniacal villain.

      • Trickytrisha

Hmm, I just read the Wiki about Loki. He sounds somewhat like a Norse version of the Native American Trickster coyote.

        • lunchcoma

In the myths? Oh, definitely. There’s a bit of that in the comic/movie character as well. He’s a schemer and a liar and likes to make his plans. But there’s a bit of family drama put into the whole thing, and it ends up playing with the nice boy aspect of Hiddleston’s persona fairly well.

        • Bridget Smith

Yes, Loki is the trickster god of the Norse pantheon. There’s one in most polytheistic religions (for example, Hermes fills that role for the Greeks, even if it’s not his only role). He’s the diametrical opposite of Thor: thoughtful where Thor is reckless, resorting to trickery where Thor would be violent. Tom Hiddleston and Chris Hemsworth are the same height but of very different builds, so they balance with each other well. (I like Chris Hemsworth, and I think he’s great in the role, but Tom Hiddleston has so much presence and charisma that, once you watch the movie, it’s instantly obvious why all the fangirls glommed onto him. That, and he’s an adorable goof.)

          • Erika Schultze

I really enjoy the dichotomy of Thor and Loki and how, no matter what, there is always a small part of Thor that loves his brother so much and wants him to come home. And it’s something that they’ve kept in the comics as well… even though Loki has done horrible, HORRIBLE, things… Thor always finds a way to believe in his brother. Loki thinks Thor’s kind of an idiot for doing that but that’s also the thing about Thor… not that he’s an idiot, but that he’s always hopeful.

For such a bruiser type, it’s weird, I guess but I really like how they keep that part of the character. Tom and Chris, I think, play off each other so well and there are always these moments between them where you can see Thor hoping his brother listens and comes home, and you can see Loki wishing he could do that.

            Yep. I’m a fangirl.

      • misstressofsylar

that’s the beauty of acting. even when you don’t have the look, as long as you are convincing in your acting, then you ARE the character. and Mr. Tom H here has certainly inhabited the character. his little show at this year’s Comic-Con was a fantastic example. the impact of his “Where are your Avengers now?” and “Say my name!” lines is astounding.

  • Patrick Scott

Ok. Um. I think his posture and cocky face in that last pic make up for any sub-standard, non-revolutionary styling. Yowza.

  • bertkeeter

He really took a leap of faith with this look!

  • shmrck14

You better believe me this fangirl doesn’t care. Did you see him in the Hollow Crown? The literary nerd in me, he has for life :-)

    • AnguaVonUberwald

He was freaking amazing in that. The scene at the end, where he is goofily wooing Katherine had me swooning. He wasn’t too bad all covered in mud, either.

  • jif

    Boring suit, Tintin hair.

  • http://kittysdrawings.com Esz

Good god I could eat him up with a spoon.

    Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
Why is he not my boyfriend? :-P

  • ItsDicey

Well, yes I do care. Aw, who am I kidding? I really don’t.

  • Tina Power

The blue suit with the sparkle thread woven in it that he wore to Seoul Times Square is far better than this. He also wore the suit to the PBS promo for Hollow Crown. He basically has 3 suits and 2 jackets that he wears all the time because when left to his own devices he generally dresses like a tit.

  • jonnyf8

That clip of him dancing and then singing “Man in the Mirror” on that Korean talk show the other day kinda sealed the deal for those of us that were on the fence about him. He’s adorable.

    • shmrck14

You have to see him do Loki as Owen Wilson. It was so awesome. A fan asked on some talk show and he was such a good sport. He took a moment to prepare and then launched into it. It was so unbelievable endearing

  • jhedman

I’m never bored by impeccable tailoring. That’s the most perfect hem I’ve seen in an age.

  • http://foodycat.blogspot.co.uk/ foodycatAlicia

When Brother Hiddleston comes knocking on my door I will definitely invite him in to hear about LDS.

  • Tanya Wade

Tom Hiddleston in a skinny tie? I’m not complaining. Ever. Luv, Sweaty Fangurl.

  • Arjay Gallo

The cosplayers deserve a WERQ to be honest!

  • putacorkinit

Great suit, nice shirt, shiny black shoes (not brown! never brown with black or grey!) and yet a tiny spiv’s tie-knot to make him look like a unlicensed urn salesman.

  • putacorkinit

Captain China says: ‘Do not like this monochromatic garden rake!’

  • http://aldonsusi.blogspot.com/ Susi R

love the third pic…the picture the fan is holding up with hearts on his face. LOL

  • WendyD

Who cares about the suit, his smile is giving me LIFE.

  • http://www.momforless.com Crystal

    Lurve him.

  • MzzPants

The funeral directors I know never display perfect hems or well-fit shoulders.

    • Badriya Al-Badi’a

I work in a cemetery, and I can assure you, most funeral directors could only wish they looked this good ;-)

  • ThaliaMenninger

I don’t know why he has fangurls, but I’m going to guess it’s not because he just did such a fine Prince Hal/Henry V. But he did. Aces for you, young man. You look delicious and you have the acting chops, too.

    • shmrck14

Wrong guess, very wrong. I only just became a devoted fangurl from that. He was freakin fantastic!

      • ThaliaMenninger

Yes, he was! And talent is so very attractive!

  • Shawn EH

Funeral directors don’t rock such a snug fit!

  • majorbedhead

He’s the most adorable funeral director I’ve ever seen.

  • seelebrennt

was this a whiteboard post? i don’t even know if TLo posted any words…he’s so dreamy.

  • largishbearishAtlish

might be a candidate for Sausage Fridays tho…or is that just his hands being shoved in his pants…

  • Diego!

I disagree. He looks AMAZING! The suit is perfectly fitted and he looks stunning and he is well aware of that. Good for you Tom! :)

  • Erika Schultze

It is kind of strange that Hiddleston has been doing all the press for this movie. Hemsworth is plenty charismatic himself when he’s interviewed, after all. But Hiddleston just seems incandescent at these things. He’s unbelievably charming. If anyone has missed his impression of Owen Wilson as Loki, Google that shit. He also does a pretty spot on Chris Evans as well.

    • Liz Pacem

I’m partial to his Alan Rickman from the Avengers gag reel.

  • River

    Wait, there was a suit?

  • http://frankbettecenter.org/ sleah_in_norcal

    love those korean fans!

  • Lilyana_F

Oh my… nope, do not care, what clothes…

  • Jacob Bowen

I didn’t get his sexiness until recently, and DAMN it hit hard, but this is UPSETTING! He usually looks SO much better!

  • H2olovngrl

    Skinny tie=stylish…no???
