Tom Felton for Bello Magazine

Posted on October 18, 2013

BLUE STEEL, bitches:

Tom Felton covers the October 2013 issue of Bello magazine photographed in London at the Lemonade Factory Studio by Alexander Beer and styled by Ricky Partner.

Here you go Potter-philes. As with all former cast members of the franchise, we are all bound by law to discuss how he’s aged into adulthood and whether or not we approve of him for doing so.

We were going to make some nasty crack about the state of his career, but actually, a quick check of IMDB shows he’s been quite the busy little bee. Shut our mouths.

      Pretty pretty Malfoy.

      • misstressofsylar

he is, isn’t he? reminds me of all the Drarry fics I’ve seen in fanfic sites (I swear I never read any of them! Sir No Sir!)

        • Nazzzy

          Drarry and Lumione… Sigh…

        • demidaemon

I know, right? Would have made for a much more interesting series in my opinion, had Rowling taken that direction. Thank god for fanfic authors who are willing to ignore a pat epilogue the author wrote to try and discourage them.

          I f*****g hate pat epilogues.

          • Kristin McNamara

I don’t love epilogues either, but I’d always hypothesized that she wrote the epilogue in order to discourage other authors from picking up the likenesses of her characters and continuing to write stories about their adventures, a la Eric Van Lustbader with Jason Bourne.

            • demidaemon

I heard that she actually wrote the epilogue before she wrote the rest of the books. I stand by my belief that it’s a cop-out technique that actually detracts from the work and from the ability of the reader to imagine.

    • foodycatAlicia

That cover picture reminds me of someone and I canNOT put my finger on it.

      • RussellH88

        Aaron Paul?

        • charlotte

Thanks! On a different note: I stared at him trying to figure out who he reminds me of, and I noticed that his pupils look metallic, almost as if he had screws in his eyes.

          • tereliz

It’s from the lighting. Lots of photographers (or their assistants) take weird circles like that out, or make them less obviously a circle.

          • Jacqueline Wessel

Yes, they look like little grommets.

        • Chase

That’s exactly what I thought! It’s mostly the eyes.

        • foodycatAlicia

I had to google him, so no…

          • Bridget Smith

He’s shown up here a few times recently, as Breaking Bad came to a close, so you might have made the subconscious connection without knowing who it was. (I thought it WAS Aaron Paul before reading the headline.)

        • deathandthestrawberry

At first glance I totally thought it was Aaron Paul when I saw the icon on the home page. Obviously, there face are shaped differently but those icy blue eyes!

        • gabbilevy

That’s who I thought it was when I saw the thumbnail.

      • Breatheinthegood

From the front page, he looked a bit like Aaron Paul to me…

      • tereliz

Warren Worthington III, aka Robin Wright’s current man-candy? I’m relatively sure he has a name but am too lazy to look it up.

        • Loola234

          Ben Foster?

They both have the baby blues…

          Draco’s hair/hairline seem appropriately styled here…

          • Sobaika

There is a definite Ben Foster resemblance.

          • tereliz

            That’s the one.

          • Vivi N

I was thinking Ben Foster, as well.

        • MartyBellerMask

I was thinking Ben Foster as well. Or a Ben Foster- Carey Mulligan hybrid.

      • hughman

        Dakota Fanning?

        • Bland

I wish I had said that – and totally agree

      • Ashley Stacey

        Jared Leto?

      • marlie

        Ryan Gosling?

      • Heron

        Lucius Malfoy?

      • tarqueeny

I think Ryan Gosling, Aaron Paul, Ben Foster and Tom Felton could quite easily play brothers.

    • seelebrennt

i love that first b&w shot. he never did much for me. grown up neville is where it’s at!

      • Rhonda Shore

oh yes, but draco’s not too shabby…

        • StellaZafella

Clearly, Draco got his wand back.

      • isapaiva

Right? Where is grown up Neville? I’ll follow TLo’s lead and go check imdb.

        • MartyBellerMask

          Grown up Neville FTW!!

          • zenobar

I dunno – have you seen Grown Up Josh Peck?

            • MartyBellerMask

That is one heck of a transformation. But I guess if we’re venturing away from Hogwarts, the all-time winner is Jerry O’Connell.

        • majorbedhead

Grown up Neville is stunning now. Stunning.

          • tarqueeny

I still think Matthew Lewis (Neville) has a weird mouth due to his teeth. He’s better looking than he was as a kid but not particularly attractive.

      • marlie

        Oooohhh… Grown up Neville…

    • Imasewsure

Not a Potter person so I don’t know anything about this guy but I am very thankful for a different type of guytorial… a bit James Dean-y but no car or desert in sight! Love the shoes/rolled jeans/jacket combo in the first B&W shot

      • tereliz

YES! I love the implied action in that shot, and the originality of the flare shot. Nice way to get that smokiness that photographers love without resorting to actually smoking, which would be gross.

      • Kristin McNamara

That kicking-the-dirt shot reminds me of Edward Norton for some reason…?

    • Danielle

      GOD DAMN.

    • JauntyJohn

Dude’s got some high beam peepers, that’s for sure.
Since sometimes the positive slides under the radar (there’s so much to chew on with the negative, some days, and we need our fiber!) it just struck me that, to a one, all the Potter kids are turning out rather well — that is, no one’s gone to rehab, or made a porn version of “Harry Potter” or fallen out of a limo with their skirt over their face.
Now where’s the fun in that.

      • deathandthestrawberry

Except for the actor who played Crabbe who was sentenced to two years time for his participation in the London riots a couple years ago. That and a rather serious marijuana charge, which also got him cut from the last movie. But, you know, he was a Slytherin so that’s to be expected.

      • Kristin McNamara

Ooh. Porn version of Harry Potter. Consider my curiosity piqued. (But only if all the original actors participated…)

      • formerlyAnon

Didn’t Daniel Radcliffe do a short stint in rehab? I know he’s spoken publicly about a drinking problem and has been sober for a while. Though the point stands that while he apparently made himself a nuisance to his friends, withdrew from his family and generally was miserable, he didn’t create a huge brouhaha in the press or get fired from a movie or arrested before deciding to deal with the issue.

        • tarqueeny

No, he never went into rehab. He just recognised a problem and stopped doing it.

    • International Model

I was not expecting to want to have anybody’s love child today, but I guess I should be flexible…

    • rissa42210

he should lose the mustache – it’s not doing him any favors. he could rock a stubble.

    • newleaf1

Draco has grown up nicely. Perhaps better than any of the other Hogwarts men.

      • Laura Renee

        Nope, check out Matt Lewis.

        • Bridget Smith

Or, in the preferred nomenclature, Hot Neville.

        • DTLAFamilies

If you GIS Matt Lewis the first hit is a photo of him in a suit and waistcoat. Nice.

          • Bridget Smith

AND a freaking watch chain, because apparently “tall, handsome, and be-suited” was not enough.

        • Helen C

I always thought all the goshes about grown Neville is because he was really not an attractive child or teenager and the contrast brings the surprise.

      • MartyBellerMask

Better than Cedric Diggory. Yeah, I said it.

    • Kelly

What’s with the stick of dynamite? Too funny. Sorry, Tom — no amount of scowling stubble, James Dean clothing, or street-riot gear is going to make you look bad to the bone. It just makes you look like a pretty boy trying too hard not to look like a pretty boy.

    • MilaXX

For a guytorial this ain’t bad. That cover shot is gorgeous.

    • Clueless_Jock

      He looks like my boss.

      • Kristin McNamara

        Is your company hiring?

    • Erica

Wow. I’m making my way through the films bit by bit with my six-year old most nights of the week, as he’s developed quite the Potter obsession, and I wouldn’t have placed this one at first or even second glance. They’ve all aged rather well, from what I’ve seen, but Draco really looks great here.

    • Chase

Ya know, if they ever do a UK version of Breaking Bad, he’d make a kickass Jesse.

      • Qitkat

I only have 6 episodes to go, so I’m quite in tune with the Jesse vibes. So hard to be on the internet and not get spoiled. I’m a little freaked out about what they did to his eyes in the cover shot.

        • Chase

It’s definitely worth it to watch unspoiled. But watch quickly! The number of spoilers on the net seems to grow daily.

          • Qitkat

You bet! They show up in the most unexpected places. Just watched Confessions and sat with my hands over my open mouth in shock for almost the entire ep. Brilliant.

      • sagecreek

Honestly, I thought this was Aaron Paul at first.

    • joancarol

He’s got a small mouth, just like Damian Lewis. (Sorry, SNL ruined Homeland for me. “Why is his mouth so small??”)
(Not to mention Ann Hathaway’s batshit crazy Carrie)

    • marlie

Channeling Ryan Gosling a bit. I like these pics.

    • Synnamin

Oh my. he HAS aged well, hasn’t he?

    • Erica Woods Tucker

God Damn. Malfoy looks good. I thought it was Aaron Paul at first too.

    • SignLadyB

I never realized that Malfoy had such gorgeous blue eyes. He was always the most fascinating evil young man and I always enjoyed his performances.

      • Constant Reader

I was always really impressed with him, too. He made Draco a lot more nuanced than I’d have expected from such a young actor.

    • Julie Parr

He looks much better than I thought he would at this age, and yes, an Aaron Paul doppleganger.

      • carnush

totally. He looks a little Like Ryan Gosling too.

    • The Bowler

Does anyone else think he has sort of a pinched version of Young Cary Elwes going on here?

    • Fordzo

I know he’s an adult now, but I’d feel weird blessing his sausage.

      • Kristin McNamara

I must find uses for that turn of phrase in real life now. “Blessing his sausage” is a new one for me. I love it.

    • JulieTy

Love it all, but especially the second shot. It reminds me of Astrid Kirchherr’s Hamburg photos of the Beatles.

    • crash1212

OK…the pupils in the first picture are FREAKING ME OUT! He’s turned into quite the hunk. Seems all those Potter kids and turned into beautiful adults.

    • MartyBellerMask

He’s cute. I dig the red pants.

    • raeb23

      5 pts for slytherin!

    • LaSylphide

Of all the child actors in Those Movies, I thought Felton was by far the best. Great photo shoot: very “Draco needs a hug”.

    • Trickytrisha

Those are some awesome pics. Well styled and photographed, varied and interesting. It doesn’t hurt that our bad boy has turned into a BAD BOY. Go, Tom.

    • putacorkinit

I think this photo shoot will do more for his career than a good film.

    • venusvelvet

I thought that was Ben Foster at first.

    • Kate

THIS MAN! UGH I need to excuse myself now.

    • gsk241

I called it from the first movie. Slytherin sneer notwithstanding I knew Tom Felton would be the heart-breaker.

    • siriuslover

How on earth did I miss this post??? And yeah, he has been busy and has been in some fairly mainstream flicks. He looks gorgeous here. Why on earth would someone give him a flare to hold? Sometimes photographers (or the set designers for photographers) are just a wee bit on the crazy side.

    • Deborah Lipp

He and Ben Foster should work as brothers.

    • St. Ace

Tom Felton and Aaron Paul could play brothers in a movie.
