Rebel Wilson in New York City

Posted on October 02, 2013

You guys, we think Rebel might be trolling us.

Rebel Wilson leaving her hotel in New York City.

We have to admit, her kitty-eye boobs are kind of hypnotic.

Also, her hair and makeup are really pretty.

We let workmen into our home yesterday only to realize later we were both wearing different “kitty in space” t-shirts and Tom was sporting these. We think they thought we were crazy cat people. We think they were probably right.

And that’s how you make sure that everyone stares at your boobs.

      • https://twitter.com/Gayer_Than_Thou Gayer Than Thou

I usually just walk around with my shirt pulled up, but you right — this is probably a more elegant way doing it.

    • bellafigura1

Honestly, with the plaid leggings untwisted and a black blazer, it would be cute! That blue is terrible.

      • Erica_Vuitton

The twisted leggings are raising up crazy levels of anxiety for me. I feel suffocated and I don’t know why!

      • patticake1601

Its what happens when you have big thighs, that’s why I don’t wear tights or leggings with patterns.

    • Feathers McGraw

I don’t feel bad about unconditionally loving this. She is trolling us all, but enjoying it so much that I can’t be mad. GIANT CAT SHIRT FTW.

      • Darren Nesbitt

I can’t help but stare at her beautiful face and hair. She is glowing! I can’t wait to see her new show.

    • jw_ny

hey my eyes are up here!…oh, wait…

    • Diego!

I think her hair, make-up, bag and shoes are fabulous!!! I hate those pants tough! Her boobs are making the cat’s eyes look like Puss In The Boots

      • Lucía Gavello

I’m going to sound crazy here but I’m pretty sure that if she switched the leggings to black I would dig this outfit, kitty-eye boobs and all.

      • fursa_saida

Swooping in late to say Puss in Boobs. It was necessary.

    • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

Boys, nothing at all wrong with claiming a look and going for it. I bet you both looked cute.
      Kittyboobs!
I must use that in a sentence today somehow.

      • Elizabetta1022

” I say, have you done something jolly with your boobs?”

        • zenobar

“Jolly” and “boobs” in the same sentence? You win so hard.

      • conniemd

It’s 11:00 and do you know where you kittyboobs are?

    • SewingSiren

She’s playing a game, like Phyllis Diller. So it’s working.

      ******************************************
Maybe you *are* crazy cat people………

    • mshesterp

She always just looks so happy. You gotta love that.

Those pants are something, though. Love the shirt and the shoes, but the jacket is a needle scratch. I think Rebel could have a really fun, funky style with just a little more polish if she had a good stylist.

      • Tom Shea

If I was as funny, talented, and gorgeous as she is I might be all happies too.

    • Silly Grrl

I almost bought that shirt, but I have DD boobs….

      • mshesterp

You’d be wearing be one extremely large-eyed cat.

      • aahlife

where can i purchase this shirt?

        • Silly Grrl

Forever 21 in the plus section! They also had other cat shirts in the non-plus.

    • Jessica Freeman

This is so perfectly her. Even if she is wearing leggings as pants.

    • Latin Buddy

Like Jennifer Lawrence, I love everything about this girl. I just want to sit with her on the couch, order in, and watch tv.

      • bitchybitchybitchy

And make sure you’ve got a good supply of wine or Margaritas!

    • http://foodycat.blogspot.co.uk/ foodycatAlicia

You don’t think the number of cats in your house may have given them a hint?

    • MartyBellerMask

Well, the blazer is kind of pointless, but otherwise I actually love this look. :)

    • Laura Renee

It just looks like the giant cat is about to leap out from inside her, omg.

    • Kate Andrews

I’m a little freaked out by the cat, and I’m saying this as a cat person.

    • sagecreek

Oh, dear. There’s a casino in Bossier City, Louisiana where this would fit right in.

      • bizarro

Oh, I live in Shreveport and you are soooooo right!

    • http://dontmakeitlikeimdumb.blogspot.com/ annabelle archer

For the record, i love it because I am a fan of cheeky, in your face humor, which I take this to be.

But, I have a thought for ponder and hopefully insightful BK comments.
My little girl loves Pitch Perfect. Loves. But I realized it bothered me when she saw a commercial for Rebel’s new show and referred to her as Fat Amy. Now I’m all super worried about what kind of message I’m teaching her about self acceptance and self love. We had the whole conversation about WHY she calls herself that in the movie, but that doesn’t make me feel better about putting the idea of calling yourself Fat Anything as a defense mechanism. Maybe I’m over thinking it but I’m worried I’ve left a land mine in my daughter’s subconsciousness. Thoughts???

      • rag254

Let’s unpack, in the first place, why being called fat is like the worst insult ever. To love oneself often means loving all the things that describe you. There are way worse things to be than fat.

        • Aurumgirl

I totally agree. It will take a lot of work for people to stop feeling the sting in that word, but actually defusing its little bomb of hate by using the word as the simple adjective it is, and then embracing it, might do the trick. I wouldn’t feel so bad about it, annabelle archer, especially since your little girl loves her show, and her, likely, right along with it.

          • ThesisMonkey

agreed. We (as a culture) need to work to erase the negativity associated with the word “fat.” It’s a better, and more preferred, descriptor than “overweight” (a term that wrongly suggests a person is not at their appropriate weight and/or is unhealthy). The more positive associations the better!

        • http://dontmakeitlikeimdumb.blogspot.com/ annabelle archer

Thank you for this. I’ve been marinating on it all day.

      • Vickiefantastico

It’s hard raising a daughter nowadays, isn’t it? My daughter is only four, but I’m already running into problems. My husband and I were on a diet, and I guess we were talking about calories too much around her, because one day she looked at her snack (crackers, I believe) and said, “I wonder how many calories these are?” It bothered me so much that I vowed not to discuss my weight or calories anymore. I don’t want her to already stress out about how she looks or what she weighs. I want her to love herself, as much as I do. But how on earth can I do that when she is inundated at all times about achieving the “perfect” female body?

As for your daughter, I think you did the right thing taking to her about it. Right or wrong, the word “fat” has huge connotations in our society. Best to be open and honest with her!

Incidentally, my little girl’s name is also Annabelle!

        • http://dontmakeitlikeimdumb.blogspot.com/ annabelle archer

Yes! To discuss food and healthy choices is a good thing, to teach them about nutrition, etc, but then to hear your little girl translate that into her own “dieting” worries is heart breaking.

Incidentally, my mom’s name was Vicky.

          • Elizabetta1022

It sounds to me like you’re doing a great job, Annabelle. It’s so hard raising kids and knowing if you’re saying/doing the right thing. I question myself all the time. My gut tells me that this might be a good opportunity for you to talk to your daughter about the word “fat” and how people are treated when they differ from the standard perception of beauty in our culture. I remember having a conversation with my son (who was 8 at the time) about gay people not being allowed to marry (though gay marriage passed in Maine this year — hooray!) and I was surprised at how well he understood the inherent unfairness in discriminating against a group of people, just because they were perceived as being “different” from the norm. Even at a young age, kids get “unfair” and “unjust” and “mean”. (Maybe more than we do, at times!)

            • http://dontmakeitlikeimdumb.blogspot.com/ annabelle archer

I’ve exposed to her TLo, It’s the best a parent can do really. : )

      • Kent Roby

Her calling herself Fat Amy was, I think, much like when any group takes a slur and “owns” it as a defense, like gays with “queer” or “fag”, African-Americans with the n-word, etc. While I understand the motivation, any of that always makes me, personally, really uncomfortable. I actually felt sort of guilty for laughing at her calling herself that in Pitch Perfect, but she really is hilarious (loved her in Bridesmaids, too).

      • poggi

I just had a conversation with a colleague about the fact that choosing not to name something isn’t a neutral position. So while I am not entirely comfortable with the reference either, understanding that some people choose to name themselves as a way of being visible or choose to reclaim hurtful or damaging words as a tactic to resist or counter oppression is probably a good thing. I guess if I think of it as more of a conscious choice to contest the societal view of size and not just as a defense mechanism, I feel a bit more positive about it.

I also sympathize about landmines. The animated Peter Pan and the Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer both necessitated unanticipated discussions about gender and race with a 5 year old.

    • Vickiefantastico

I should hate this. And yet, it makes me smile. She looks gorgeous!

    • Kent Roby

She’s certainly not the first starlet to show us her pussy (some do it exiting limos), but she does it with the most exuberance. I want to get drunk with her.

      • Qitkat

If Mrs. Slocombe were around now, I’d like to think she would embrace this shirt with great delight, along with attitude of “What? what are you looking at?”!

    • Mary Lauer

Great, now I want kitty shoes. And I don’t even have a cat!!

    • MilaXX

This is why resist all impulses to buy cat imprinted clothing of any sort. My lone exception is a cat shaped piece of hair jewelry. I like Rebel’s pants and shoes here, but that t shirt is the thing of nightmares and the jacket just clashes. I haven’t checked out her new show yet because as much as I love Rebel, the show doesn’t look very good.

      • http://dontmakeitlikeimdumb.blogspot.com/ annabelle archer

My bestie works for a crazy cat lady. I have so many stories. One day she sent me over a dozen pics of a small sample of her cat imprinted clothing. It’s the only thing this woman wears. (When she bothers to dress at all.)

        Clearly it’s a slippery slope.

        • MilaXX

I definitely have crazy cat lady tendencies. I have way too many pictures of the cat doing cute things, my cat has a toy basket, a 6 foot kitty tower, 2 large-ish toys that don’t fit in the toys box and eats food I have to go to this organic market called Essene to buy in addition to the stuff I buy from Petsmart. Slippery slope indeed. I start wearing cat clothing and it’s over for me.

          • http://dontmakeitlikeimdumb.blogspot.com/ annabelle archer

If you put on puppet shows, complete with multiple voice personalities, call me. Well set up your intervention.

            • MilaXX

I was close. You know that video of the cat in the shark suit riding the rumba? I actually bought Stormie a similar suit only hers is a dinosaur. I thought it would make a funny card, but she side eyed me so hard once I finally got her in it I couldn’t get a decent picture. I have since learned to control my crazy cat ideas.

            • http://dontmakeitlikeimdumb.blogspot.com/ annabelle archer

(My fb profile pic may or may not be a cat wearing a panda suit. What?)

            • MilaXX

You’re talking to the lady who’s disqus avatar has a cat wearing a bowtie.

            • mlle

My crazy dog lady impulses are mainly held in check by the fact that my dog takes “something is near my face” as a cue that “this should totes go in my mouth!!!” so it’s nearly impossible to dress her up.

      • http://foodycat.blogspot.co.uk/ foodycatAlicia

I am a crazy cat lady but I really don’t like cat motif stuff. And yet people keep giving it to me. Sweet & generous but I really don’t like cat patterned clothes!

      • kimmeister

The only cat thing I wear is this year’s anniversary gift from my husband, a silver cat pendant with diamonds on the body.

      • mlle

I have a lilac nightgown with cat faces printed on it. The friend who gave it to me joked that has prophylactic powers.

The only cat or dog related pieces I’ll wear out of the house are vintage brooches.

    • Fordzo

My son outgrew his favorite kitty cosmonaut t-shirt. Any chance I could find out where you each got your kitty in space shirts?

      • http://www.tomandlorenzo.com/ Tom and Lorenzo

        Tom wore this one: http://www.brooklynindustries.com/graphic-t-shirts-mens-best-sellers/astro-kitty–graphic-t-shirt

        It’s his favorite t-shirt.

Lorenzo’s was purchased at a comic convention.

        • kimmeister

I literally giggled out loud at viewing that shirt. It’s adorable!

        • decormaven

I so did not need to see that shirt…. it is fab!

        • Qitkat

Love! especially the multiple eyes. And the slippers too.

        • formerlyAnon

Definitely NOT sufficient evidence of crazy cat personhood. It’s too awesome. Even a non-cat person (who might be several of my relatives by blood or marriage) with the right sense of humor would love that shirt.

        • Swiftlytiltingplanet

Great. Now I need (NEED, I tell you!) the shirt and the slippers!

        • Fordzo

Thanks! That astro-kitty shirt is perfect.

    • allcapsERINN

I love this site because no one ever yells, “FIRST!” in the comments.

I think she’s awesome. For kicks, I got a bag on eBay that looks a lot like that shirt – a giant cat head (search for “cat face purse” there). I doubt I’ll ever take it out in public, but it does make me smile.

    • Kelly

I don’t mind the *theory* of the look. But in practice, it doesn’t work because the top half is based on pastels, while the bottom half is bold primaries. So there’s no color connection between the two halves, and no real form or thematic connection, either. So it’s as if she’s wearing two different outfits at once. It’s a look that says to me, “I’ve really got to do the wash, and these are the only things that are still clean.”

    • MissMariRose

She’s so happy and radiant, I don’t even give a damn what’s she’s wearing. You go, girl!

    • xmixiex

bahaha she’s aweosme. she looks super pretty, giant cat aside.

    • Danielle

Hair and makeup are on point. Her boobs are gazing into my soul.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1180174329 Elizabeth Phillips

I’ve never seen such protuberant eyes on a cat.

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_QFW22QV426LUOEPGASPZJWJMDE MishaFoomin

Those shoes are pretty fierce, and they’re flats. More like that please, shoe makers!

    • cocohall

Girls got a new show starting. She has rehearsed this all before in Australia where she was extremely successful, and she knows trying to look “fashion” is not going to help her or her show get viewers. I saw her on the View a while back and she was in a lovely dress and very lady like. But it wasn’t a look that screamed “Watch my show! It premieres this week!” This look is guaranteed to get plastered everywhere. Well done, Miss Rebel. Gorgeous, life-affirming smile.

    • save_the_hobbit

LOVE IT. Also, I covet anything with cats on it. I’m a 23 year old crazy cat lady and I’ve come to terms with it.

    • boweryboy

Oh, Rebel. I love you. I do, but honey no. Cute shoes though.
Speaking of which, I own a pair of those Uniqlo slippers in navy. So. Freaking. Comfortable.

    • lobsterlen

In that last picture doesn’t it look like one those kittyboob eyes is crying?

    • quiltrx

Everyone around her is smiling…I call that a successful trolling!
She looks gorgeous, and those shoes are killer.
Untwist that right leg though, darling.

    • kimmeister

Ooof, plaid or striped leggings are a slippery slope. If the pattern is not laying just perfectly, it is not very flattering.

The weirdest thing I’ve been caught wearing at home has to be my Freudian Slippers. I have a real estate appraiser coming over in half an hour, but I’m already dressed for work so I think I’m good for today.

    • mlle

If her leggings were pants (with the same print, of course) and her blazer was black, this would be fabulous.

    • mhleta

Please don’t tell me that you write in sweats and slippers. In my mind one of you is sporting a smoking jacket, an ascot and a Meerschaum pipe and the other is wearing Hank Azaria’s pool cleaning costume from “The Bird Cage.”

      • formerlyAnon

Please, feel free to share more of your inner life. I begin to suspect it of being highly entertaining . . .

        • mhleta

The inner is infinitely more interesting than the outer!

          • formerlyAnon

Whenever I have that feeling, I remind myself that if I retain even a portion of my marbles, the nursing home won’t be bad at all.

    • BrooklynBomber

I appreciate the outrageousness of the T-shirt. It works. But not with those horrific plaid leggings and real-estate salesperson jacket. How about the T with a pair of freaking pants? And a sweater or a hipper jacket? Jeez Louise.

    • http://www.youtube.com/user/TheOctocornNetwork International Model

She needs pearls. Nothing says “I am in NYC and matching plaid to kitties, bitches!” like a strand of pearls.

    • Violentcello

I love her freakin’ face. Heck of a smile that girl has.

    • SportifLateBoomer

I love the shirt! And she looks so exuberant, which makes everything better.

I give her props on the plaid leggings. I’ve got athletic thighs and I would never leave the house w/those on for fear of mockery.

My cats have their own Facebook pages, many friends, and comment regularly. Does that make me a crazy cat lady?

    • KirFla

She has guts, and I love her for it.

    • kipper

      MY EYES !!!

    • Lilithcat

      Tom’s slippers are the bomb!

And that shirt makes me miss my kitty so much. :-(

    • Cheryl

I love it, because I’m not supposed to love it. Shoes, kitty shirt, leggings, everything. I do want to straighten her tartan though just because of my own OCD tendencies, nothing wrong with it, just me being a weirdo. I think she looks very pretty.

    • kathrineb

I know the entire internet will hate me for this but….I don’t like cats…at all, but if she does good for her I guess…..Also leggings are not pants.

    • formerlyAnon

Two t-shirts and one pair of house shoes (plus an entirely moderate cat population) make you cat people. *Crazy* cat people you may be, but no evidence of such has yet been presented on this blog.

    • CeeQ

Damn, now I need those sweat room shoes. I’m always looking for shoes that keep my toes warm but let my heels feel the sweet cold air.

    • Tracy_Flick

I can’t bring myself to criticize anything about the look, because she looks like so much fun to hang out with and she’s working it like a Wendy Davis filibuster.

      • cheesebomb

“she’s working it like a Wendy Davis filibuster”

I love you for this and I’m stealing it.

    • Shawn EH

She’s trolling everyone. It’s her career.

    • marlie

She has to be playing a joke on the paparazzi. Has to.

    • NinjaCate

She is totally trolling. I love it. I love her. Kitty eye-boobs!

    • oatmealpie

I broke out into a big grin when I saw this. Mission accomplished, Rebel Wilson. Mission a-fucking-complished.

    • Jacqueline Wessel

I love this look even though that cat is a little scary. Her hair and makeup are lovely, too.

(I just hate it when after the workmen leave you discover that you left something out that you wish you hadn’t…or you realize there was some unsightly mess that you wish weren’t there.)

    • http://twitter.com/#!/Space_Kitty Space Kitty

She’s selling the shit out of it and looks adorable. I can’t complain. Oh wait, yes I can.

UNIQLO FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT’S HOLY I NEED THOSE KITTEH SHOES IN A WOMAN’S SIZE 5.

    • bitchybitchybitchy

Love the hair, and she is glowing-kittyboobs!

    • Trickytrisha

This made me laugh out loud… a totally happy laugh, not a “eww, that’s awful” laugh. The girl has balls.

    • Tatiana Luján

Leggings are not pants 8and I don’t like the way the blue cardigan and the red pant look together). I would have loved this look if she was wearing jeans.
      The shoes are great.

    • nannypoo

I don’t love the jacket with it, but everything else is really cute. She’s a little overwhelming, but in a good way.

    • Kallie Markle

I was mesmerized by her amazing skin the whole time I was watching Pitch Perfect.

    • kim bunchalastnames

was so charmed by your story i attempted to “like” it.

    • anyalama

This made me laugh out loud, and then I felt like a happier person, so I’m going to go ahead and call this a WERQ.

    • Pudgy Possum

Does anyone else hate the term “fur babies”? Doesn’t it sound like something…genital specific?

Aren’t those the pants one of the auf’d designers made on Project Runway?

    • ailujailuj

rebel… where did you find that astounding “top”. that is my kitty, Miss Prissyface Cascia Cher Delicious Westingtonson, RIP.

    • http://www.facebook.com/susan.carson.378 Susan Carson

As a cat person, I am given lots of things with cats on them ( totes, umbrellas, refrigerator magnets etc) however, I really am not a fan of cats on my clothing. But, Rebel Wilson looks very cute and happy as a clam. i love that she mixed the plaid (wishing that they were not twisting and were a pant not leggings) and tossed on the blue jacket as an “after thought” with the kitty rocker t. It probably isn’t as bright in real life as the photo makes it.
