Olivia Munn Double Shot

Posted on October 24, 2013

We wouldn’t normally credit with actually having enough style to warrant a double shot, (they said, starting the day off with the Recommended Daily Allowance of Bitchery,) but since these two looks are so far apart in style, we figured she deserved the spotlight. For working so hard, if nothing else.

Olivia Munn attends Montblanc Madison Avenue Boutique Opening in a Viktor & Rolf dress paired with Giorgio Armani sandals, a Fendi clutch, and Montblanc Star Signet Pave diamond earrings.

Here is Pretty, Minimalist Uptown Olivia. She’s giving us Socialite Realness. As with so many of her getups, it feels underthought and understyled. Her hair’s not doing the look any favors at all. The purse barely exists at all. And we’re really not loving that neckline on her.

But once P.M.U. Olivia got it out of her system, she was able to free her inner tiger, so to speak.

Olivia attends the 2013 Hollywood Film Awards in Beverly Hills, California in a Dolce&Gabbana dress paired with Giambattista Valli sandals, a Fendi clutch, and Amulette jewelry.

Or leopard, more accurately. The rarely seen green variety.

This is ’70s Softcore Porn Olivia, right down to the janky makeup and flyaway hair. We think this getup could be fun on the right gal, but unfortunately, Olivia just doesn’t have the chops to pull this off. This really needed some WOW hair and makeup and some smart accessorizing.

I clap with energy the first outfit and above everything her make up which looks updated and fresh… but she went back to her trashy roots in the second dress, which is disgusting, hair and make up are a mess and it´s clearly an OUT!

    • misstressofsylar

I give automatic props to any lady star who wears Viktor and Rolf on the RC.

      • Diego!

Agree. But Dolce & Gabanna are overly praised by the media. That dress is a joke!

  • NMMagpie

I just don’t get it with her. In my eyes, she’s really kind of generic. The one who deserves the props is her agent for getting her so many photo ops in the first place.

    • Jessica Freeman

She was on my irrational dislike list until I started watching Newsroom. She’s still pretty boring in pictures, but she’s good on the show.

      • MilaXX

I liked her from the Daily Show.

      • misstressofsylar

she’s the only thing good on that show. I’m still biter about that Emmy not going to Bryan Cranston.

      • Sobaika

She is the only worthwhile bit of that horrendous show.

    • Aaminah Khan

I have a couple of straight guy friends who worship the ground she walks on. I like the ladies myself, but I just…can’t see it. Nothing about her appeals to me at all. I have no idea why she’s a thing.

      • RoseJB

        Because, Newsroom.

  • SewingSiren

The white dress for Mont Blanc: cute and a little clever.
Green leopard, could have been cheeky if she had done her hair in a forties inspired pin-up do.

  • With her slightly exotic looks I would love to see her try things far more adventurous than these. That green leopard thing is hideous. The color makes it look moldy.

    • Introspective

thank you! I can suffer look #1. non offensive. but #2 is a steaming swamp thing pile of mess. and can we tell starlets that for the love of god they have enough money to take some of it to properly hem their pants!!

these girls keep hitting the streets in wideleg pants that make them look like their legs are melting into the RC. which is the best way to tip off introspective’s irrational hate meter.

    • formerlyAnon

I hate animal print, but I think if she had camped up the green a bit with some ’40s styling, she could have been a very satisfactory Dita-light.

  • Karen Belgrad

Both outfits belong to Olivia… Wilde.

  • AnneElliot

For a moment I thought that was a strapless jumpsuit from the last shot, which would have been even worse. Hair is tragic. Agree about the pin-up do, that would have been clever and elevated the look, which is currently just this side of trashy.

First look is so blah I can’t even comment.

  • I feel like if she even has a stylist, they are actually just her tag along best friend from high school.

    • demidaemon

I think if she has a stylist, you are correct. I seriously doubt their possible existence, though.

  • Jessica Freeman

The noticeable bow sticking out fromt he back of her neck in the first shot bugs. The second dress is pretty tacky on it’s own, and her fried hair and lack of ‘umph’ surely don’t help matters.

  • Claudia Fernandes

    help! What does PMU means?

    • RebeccaKW

It’s the abbreviation for what they named the first look. Pretty Minimalist Uptown.

      • Claudia Fernandes

what a distraction…thank you very much

  • First dress feels somehow like it needs a belt, even though it doesn’t — just seems undefined in the middle somehow. Second … dress? pantsuit? … needs a lot more “choots-pah” and oomph. She seems self conscious in it. I don’t blame her. At her age, I would have felt the same way. But if you’re going to do a red carpet in green strapless leopard print, you gotta throw your shoulders back, shove your tits forward, and say “fuck all y’all, haters!” and just go for it.

  • Judy_S

She may not look that great, but I think she looks better than usual. But I think TLo are onto something, that she needs to pretend to be someone else to figure out how to present even a relatively coherent persona.

    • Magatha

Ooh, I think you’re right. Maybe some celebs can be themselves in public and on the red carpet, but I suspect even those celebs have created a persona that they (through practice and trial and error) can just default to. I remember something that Cindy Crawford said once, about how she and all of her staff and associates work for CINDY CRAWFORD. There’s Cindy Crawford and there’s CINDY CRAWFORD. I think Olivia has to figure out an OLIVIA.

  • Carleenml

I thought my girl crush for her knew no bounds. Green leopard=there is a bound.

  • PastryGoddess

Yes but her tits and ass look great in the second look. And really that’s all the fanboys care about

    • cocohall

Precisely. Tits and Ass ARE her accessories and hair and makeup. She has an enviable set, and it looks like she is letting them do all the heavy lifting. Her smile seems to be saying “Meet me in the bathroom and I’ll make it the most memorable 90 seconds of your life.” Who needs a hair brush or jewelry when you have such, how shall we say, assets?

      • demidaemon

I’m sorry, but her tits look janky in the second dress. No bueno on showcasing them to their full advantage there.

  • veriance

janky. I love that word. The first look gives a purity dominatrix vibe. which, wtf??

  • decormaven

The hair style (or lack of) is problematic in both looks. I’m with NMMagpie; her publicist hustles like nobody’s business. Too bad the style team isn’t on board for the ride.

  • nannypoo

Bad both times, but I’m going to give her credit for that white dress not being too tight. Kind of a refreshing change from what everyone else has been doing.

  • MilaXX

She needs new she people . First look. Once again the hair is horrible and the lips are dead. I honestly would have given the rest of this look a pass if hair/makeup were right because the dress fits and the shoes don’t offend.
Second look however, is tragic. She no longer has dead lips, but that beachy hair does not suit her at all. The jumpsuit is just hiddy.

  • Lilithcat

Or leopard, more accurately. The rarely seen green variety.

To hunt the green leopard, hire Chris March as your guide!

  • Jeremiah Capacillo

Is it just me or does she look like a slightly more foreign Selma Blair?

    • NoveltyRocker

I think Olivia Munn is from here 😉 She does sort of resemble Selma Blair.

  • boweryboy

I like the shoes in the first picture. That is all.

  • NOLA_gal

Ladystars – GO UP A SIZE! Squashing everything into a too-small (green leopard!) dress is NOT FLATTERING. Ouch. It hurts just to look at her breasts!

I do kind of feel sympathetic to the hair problems – like she has lousy hair like the rest of us humans, which just won’t ever do what we want it to do. I know, she probably has people for that, but still….

  • Jumpingjacks

That D&G dress needs to be burned, the ashes buried deep in the ocean.. seriously

  • Why does she always look tired and forced to be at events? She should update her hair – something short so it wouldn’t have to do…all that up there.

  • Claudia Fernandes

unonfensive comments are deleted by who????

  • Girl, do your hair.

  • jjjoy

why does makeup always look so oily and smudgy on her? it’s a damn shame.

  • Stella Zawistowski

What is with that hair? In BOTH looks, I mean.

  • formerlyAnon

She needs a new hairstylist!!!! I think both of these are within spitting distance of something to be pleased with, and the hair is the single biggest factor that’s failing.

  • ThaliaMenninger

She’s looking more like Suzanne Pleshette during those “Rage to Live” desperate years, all the time.

  • kcnitch

The first one is too boring to comment on, and the second is somehow making her butt look kinda wide and flat.

  • Trickytrisha

So much potential unrealized. If she has gays, she needs new ones.

  • Is her hair always a disaster?

  • demidaemon

Boobs look wonky in look #2. Other than that, these are both horrifically understyled.

  • Dagney

She is a stunning woman, and weird stuff always seems to get in the way of her look being a home run. For example, why does she always look so orange? Is it too much tanning bed? An evil spray tan employee? She needs minimal makeup, due to awesome bone structure and riveting eyes, but her face always looks overwrought.

That white dress does not fit properly. A tailor? Please? Anyone? Also, a hairdresser that has a no-holds barred respectable can of Aqua Net and a brush.

Sigh…the green dress. It’s pretty wild but could have worked! Again, a hairdresser, a tailor…stat….

I suspect her own style is very NOT done up and highly styled, so for RC events she relies on stylists to make decisions.

  • pdquick

I picture Kathleen Turner bludgeoning Patty Hearst to death in Serial Mom for wearing white shoes after Labor Day.

  • imakeart

Anyone else see Suzanne Pleshette in the white dress?

  • Lily-Rygh

The first look is boring and the second is ridiculous.

That said, my first thought when seeing the white dress is that it’s nice to see a ladystar in a dress that actually looks to fit properly — it seems like the trend of late has been dresses that pull across the hips. Nice to see Olivia avoid that one.
