It is making her look wide….which should impossible…

    • acevedob

I know! Why does it look so horrible on her? Was it not properly adjusted? Did she steal someone’s dress?

      • teensmom99

All I could think of is “Do you have to be skinnier than she is to wear this?” I mean, that’s crazy.

        • mlle

You need a really narrow ribcage to pull it off. This dress is for models only.

    • Me Again

I feel like the waist sits higher on her than it does on the model, so that may be part of it.

  • Victor Beiramar Diniz

    blue-laced sister-bride

    • 3boysful

Yes! I liked the thumbnail, but was horrified when I scrolled down. That gathered skirt is no one’s friend!

  • Jessica Freeman

I like exactly zero about this dress.

    • Rhonda Shore

The detail on the arms is cute but this is a: GIRL, this is not your dress. It’s very matronly.

      • Stella Zawistowski

Whose dress is it? I really can’t think of an answer to that.

        • BayTampaBay

          Crown Princess Marie-Chantal of Greece

        • NYCGlamourpuss

          Nancy Reagan.

          • Guest

          • kittenwithaquip

But it would have to be red.

  • skitzfiggitous

  • DTLAFamilies

    80-year-old debutante

    • Clueless_Jock

      Yes, it’s way too mature,

      • formerlyAnon

        By at LEAST 40 years.

  • zenobar

I think my gram had one of these vinyl “lace” tablecloth toppers.

    • NOLA_gal

Yup. Except my grandma’s was beige. She might have had one in avocado green too.

  • SewingSiren

The sheer panel at the side seam and outer arm looks like a horrible alteration was made to increase the size of the gown. It is too long and too old for her as well.

  • MoHub

Waist seam is too high, and the whole dress looks too big for her.

    • Anplica Fiore

She loses her figure completely in this dress.

  • YousmelllikeAnnaWintour

    Valentino? You’re soaking in it.

    • NYCGlamourpuss

OMG, best post I’ve read ever!

  • YousmelllikeAnnaWintour

“Celeste Holm – The Early Years”.

  • AmeliaEve

I am always complaining about things that are too long in the waist, but this is way too short. It recreates the blocky, mom-like silhouettes of those loose baby-doll dresses from the 1990s. Not good.

  • crabapple0222

    um, no!

  • eowyn_of_rohan

    Sexy Amish Barbie.

  • Shannon Beamer

My first reaction was abject horror. This dress is horrendously unflattering. Her head looks nice though? (I’m trying).

  • moppet

Nice color, very tasteful, but really aging and…widening? I’m not sure what’s going on there, because from the side she looks okay.

  • Hiltons and Kardashians? These are the tricks. Where are our treats?

    • Liz

      Well, sausage Friday is tomorrow.

      • NYCGlamourpuss

  • Other than the color, that dress is doing her zero favors.

  • Call me Bee

That is just odd. At first glance, it looks like a Grandmother of the Bride dress. Then you see the sheer panels on the side, which makes it look like a paper doll’s dress–just hanging on the front. If I may vote, I vote OUT!

    • Winter_White

Paper doll dress is what I saw, too — if she turned around we’d see that she is butt-nekid in back, except for big white paper tabs hugging her neck and waist.

      • Call me Bee

Ha! And her big white panties…

  • Evan

Of course I would say “There’s only one of Paris Hilton” on the Kardashian post and then you guys go and post her sister lol

  • Accidental_Lurker

It’s a couture dress that doesn’t translate well to the red carpet, but I like the idea. It has a Russian Gzel-like feeling to it, and Ms. Hilton sure looks the part (bar the unfortunate fitting). The look would have been more appropriate and probably more appreciated for some Russian opera gala, the recent opening of Evgeny Onegin comes to mind.

  • Glam Dixie

Is she trying to smuggle someone into the event? If so, perfect choice!

  • NOLA_gal

Ahem. I love the color. That’s all I’ve got.

  • Sarah

This trend of same color accessories = it goes together is bad. I hate that dress, but also, the clutch doesn’t go.

  • Scott Cooper

“I just saw it in the window and I have to have it.”

  • lucyloo222

The color is beautiful on her but honestly, shape-wise, she looks like a lacy refrigerator carton.

  • YousmelllikeAnnaWintour

Does anyone else remember the good old days when lace was pretty?

    • NOLA_gal

Yes. When it was ALWAYS lined. Sigh.

  • ojosazules

The sheer arms give an illusion of a torso with skinny arms and a large bust floating in mid-air, in a bad way.

  • conniemd

I’m not sure I can take three photo shoots in a row of a Kardashian, Fergie and Nicky Hilton. All three are famous for being famous, but really there isn’t enough talent among the three of them combined to even reach the level of say, Rita Ora.

    • demidaemon

Um, Fergie is famous for being in a band and as a singer. I would say she is not even comparable to the other two and outclasses Rita Ora by a mile.

  • BayTampaBay

TLo, Is this ugly lace dress day or what?

    • NYCGlamourpuss

No one told me! And me, sitting here at the office in dress pants and a sweater!

  • Sabin

Nancy Reagan. But it looks like you could fit two Nancy Reagans in there.

    • formerlyAnon

  • Jumpingjacks

would be more flattering if the skirt started lower, nice colour

  • bellafigura1

What the heck is happening here? How could a young woman actually look in the mirror and say, OK, it’s a Go. Unless she has a subtle and snarky sense of humor, which would be cool, this is capital-T Terrible.

  • homofascist

    Grandma of the bride.

  • mmebam

Her head can stay, and maaaaaybe the clutch. The rest is a McFail with extra Fail sauce.

  • NYCGlamourpuss

I actually laughed really loudly at my desk. Scroll Down MOB.

And listen, I’m not saying that the Hiltons are blazing any trails, fashion-wise, but she should really know better.

  • Ginger

    Look y’all…it’s my grandma!

    • NYCGlamourpuss

Hi Ginger’s grandma! Can you please bake us cookies?

      • Ginger

She’d make you cookies, drink a margarita (or two) with you and then make the best damn kolaches you’ve ever had in your life!

        • NYCGlamourpuss

          Sounds like a plan!

          • Ginger

I suppose I should’ve clarified that she’s been gone for almost 20 years now. Geez…it’s been a long time! She was a hoot though…1st generation American, hard working, sass-mouthed and full of shit. And my husband wonders where I got it…

          • Ginger

I’ll still have the drink with you and I might even bake you cookies. Still a deal?

          • decormaven

            Your grandma taught you well!

          • NYCGlamourpuss

            Of course!

  • Tracy_Flick

I wasn’t aware that you could apply eye make-up in such a way as to look cross-eyed.

That dress is fugly, too. Sometimes I think designers fuck with celebrities, just to see what they can get them to wear out in public.

  • Lisa M. (ReVoir) Kramp

You usually can’t go wrong with bright blue on a pale blonde but Holy crap…could it be any frumpier?

  • Fanny_Trollope

Something about the shadow behind her plus the netting is giving her the illusion of a double-shadow that makes her look big. And outlined, like with a Sharpie.

  • Is she pregnant?

  • tereliz

The waist seems like it’s sitting too high, and I think that’s what’s making it look a little wide on her. But look how cute she is in 3/4 view. I really want to like this dress more, but the styling is a little stuffy.

  • LaSylphide

  • I like seeing more of Nicky and less of Paris.

But what a dreadful dress. What’s with the current trend of dressing people in old lady lace?

  • An excerpt from “Flirting With Cameltoe: A Stylist’s Memoir”: “When one thinks of a Valentino dress, romance, elegance and class bombard the imagination. When one thinks of a Hilton, one prays for settling with a Nicky. When one refers to themself as a “one”, they have just allowed a Hilton ruin a Valentino and are in desperate need of an ativan martini followed by meat sandwich made by Chef Mateo (was wasn’t so much of a chef as he was meat)…”

    • Jackie4g

      Author, Author!
What happens when one thinks of a Smurf?

      • “Passing out after a healthy round of “Who can drink the most Goldschlagger?” with Mateo behind a bar at an autism charity event, I somehow took refuge in a discarded Oscar de la Renta royal blue gown that was at one point worn a diminutive B list television actress that night. Currently, she was gently trying to remove my makeshift designer cocoon to put back on her mostly naked body. You would think my presence would startle her, but just like when I dressed her earlier that evening, she barely noticed my existence.”

    • formerlyAnon

      Might this be *your* memoir-in-progress?

      • My fabulous, fake memoir. I could be the next Merle Ginsberg.

        • demidaemon

You so need to finish this and see if you can publish it. Do it for the BKs! It is NaNoWriMo, after all!

  • Tamara Hogan

My grandma would love that dress. On her. She’s 92.

  • Little_Olive

THAT is a deceitful thumbnail!! My eyes!!

  • Totally unflattering. Or was she dressing up as her granny for Halloween?

  • Madam Von Sassypants

Gag gag gag. The dress, the pageant makeup, the accessories, the creepy sheer panels. Just, no.

  • Imasewsure

Wow do I hate that dress

  • Roz

    Mother of the Bride Barbie.

  • lunchcoma

You know in the new Sherlock Holmes movies, where Sherlock is experimenting with clothing that blends into the furniture? That’s what this is reminding me of. She’s plotting to assassinate Paris so she can get a larger share of the inheritance, and she’s going to do it by sneaking into her room and blending in with the drapes. Too bad she didn’t go all out and apply some blue makeup.

  • Janet B

She should wear this color often.

  • MilaXX

The color is good on her but the dress is sister wifey and makes her look wide.

  • boweryboy

    This makes her look WIDE.

  • Garcia Loca

She looks like a Dutch glazeware teapot.

  • procrastinatrice

    HELL, NO!

  • ovarB

I thought for a second this was Kathy Hilton.

  • Angela_the_Librarian

    Formal wear for figure skaters…

  • decormaven

Didn’t I have a Madame Alexander doll dressed just like this?

  • marlie

The proportions are all wrong for her. The waist of the dress needs to sit a little bit lower on her waist. And I don’t what it is about this dress, but it makes her look wide.

  • GTNYD – it’s actually Hilary’s 1993 inauguration dress

  • HATE, HATE, HATE the dress but love the styling. Sweet jesus, that’s nobody’s dress.

  • Ediths_Head

Wait, don’t tell me: Sister Wife Ice Capades!

  • ThaliaMenninger

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. This is a joke, right?

  • Tanya Wade

Why did no one tell me there was a Winter Formal in Walnut Grove tonight?

  • formerlyAnon

DEAR GOD. That is the dress and hair that I envision the 70-some-year old patrons of ABT wearing to an opening.

    Cognitive dissonance is happening.

  • mlle

50s earrings. 60s eye makeup. 80s dress. 90s disco clutch. Were her shoes the 70s?

  • notterriblybitter

The sheer panels on the sides, sleeves and shoulders and the squareness of the lace pattern create this really odd illusion and make the dress look like one of those dresses for paper dolls that have tabs at the shoulders that hold the dress on the doll. It’s really distracting, which may be a good thing considering how unattractive and unflattering the dress is.

  • Aaminah Khan

    Dressed-up sister-wife.

  • Jacqueline Wessel

The illusion netting on the side of the sleeves really only looks good when looked at from the side, from the front it makes her arms look big. Also seems like the waist is too high on her. Pretty face though.

  • MissWix

I like how the last photo I saw of her was in a School Girl costume. And now this.

  • LipstickForPigs

If “Lego-Chewed-By-Dog” was the shape she was going for….nailed it.

  • bertkeeter

I LUV Valentino…BUT I’m ready for some sexy glam from them!

  • Qitkat

Somehow she looks a foot taller than the model. Waistline is too high thus torso looks stunted.

  • Trickytrisha

Don’t know why she’d wear a dress that makes her look waistless. The face is pretty good, but the dress, apart from the sleeves, is dowdy, matronly, and borderline nursing home Christmas party.

  • She looks so…square. It’s weird.

  • Rachael

Does her grandmother know she stole her best tablecloth and is wearing it in public?

  • Hetha Innis

  • Blair Sylvester

I feel like most of Valentino’s stuff works for a very small segment of the population . I think you have to be super thin and really young so that the matronlyness of the dress is offset by the young / fresh faced woman wearing it .

  • MandyM

This is Kate Middleton’s dress. It is too chaste for a Hilton.

  • that sharp square angle at the shoulder is really unattractive. too bad, since it’s a great color on her.

  • quiltrx

Is she pregnant? This thing is positively tent-like around her middle.

  • somebody blonde

Got to say, she looks a little strange with that hairstyle. Not sure why.

  • Scroll-down surprise—I was expecting this to be a sleek column dress and was kind of horrified as it was revealed to be a full skirt.

  • Cognitive.Dissonance

Drop that waist like it’s hot, girl.

  • NBG

    Hotel window treatments. How appropriate.

  • lalahartma

  • Dowdy.

  • Danielle

  • throwaneyeonthis

Borderline speechless. If it makes her look thick, what would it do to somebody who is a true size 6? The clutch is one step away from a Bad Leiber. Fire Valentino and the stylist.

  • Candigirl1968

Is she trying to be her mother for Halloween? I’m not understanding the notion of wearing an outfit that ages you by two decades.
