This dress is not meant for someone who is only 5’2″.

    • Imasewsure

It belongs in the Land of Oz so in that case, she is too tall for it (and 60 years too late). Costume only

  • filmcricket

*She* is super cute. That dress looks like it’s growing fungus everywhere.

  • Judy_S

She is adorable. The dress…. between that and the foil Diors, it looks like Halloween princess time.

  • Jess Collett

I don’t understand hairy dresses. (Well, unless they are leopard print and you are in a rock band.)

    • Imasewsure

      Or Pebbles Flintstone

  • boweryboy

It’s an UGLY dress made uglier by the fact that I don’t think the sleeves are suppose to look like that.

    • kirkyo

I think the dress looks cool on the model but it’s not working with Lilys curves. The netting or whatnot on the sleeves looks sad and I think one sleeve got partially cuffed at some point.

  • Rand Ortega

How very Snow White. Rather apropos, I suppose, for the premiere of a movie about Walt Disney.

    • I thought the same thing: this is a red carpet dress for Snow White.

  • Charlotte

That flipped up sleeve is driving me to insanity.

  • Tatiana Luján

¿have you actually liked anything Channel has done lately?

  • Goth Snow White. It should work better than it does.

  • Young Alexis Morell, pre Carrington Colby Dexter Rowan. <3

  • LadyCelia

Entirely too overwrought a dress to have a Chanel label.

  • sammy k

    Goth Zoey D.

  • The high waist is driving me nuts. It looks like it must be above her natural waistline, but it’s not high enough to be an empire waist, so it just looks like she’s playing dress-up in an outfit that doesn’t fit her.

  • JasmineAM

I really hope this isn’t body snarky, but I honestly cannot tell if she’s pregnant or not. If she’s not, this dress should be immediately burned.

    • mjude

I think its just big around the waist. check the model, same thing. I would like it more if it just fit better.

    • marlie

It’s the dress, I think. The whole waist is wonky.

Project Runway Grocery Store Challenge: paper towel bodice and feather duster bottom

Emilia Clarke wore this for the SAG awards a year or two ago, and it looked striking then, but on Lily it unfortunately looks a bit awkward and goes crafty not in a good way. I like the dress and I really like Lily, but these two things don’t need to go together.

    • filmcricket

Okay, thank you! I felt sure I had seen those sleeves before.

  • Lorelei_D

I dunno, she looks like she’s attending the sock hop at Hogwarts. The bangs and the eyeliner and the little black distractions all over the dress. There’s a jr. high feel to this look.

  • sagecreek

Oh, dear. Those sleeves are tragic.

  • Oh. I feel like I’d forgotten all about Lily Allen. This isn’t too bad. I feel it’s swallowing her a bit though. Maybe she is still post babies body conscience and wanted a bit of fashion camouflage.

  • E2_Remote

Lily Allen, haven’t seen her in ages, glad she’s back out and about. As for the dress, it’s problematic on several levels, but from a comfort perspective, how is she not continually scratching from that tule thing lining the collar? I don’t even want to know what kind of torture it would be to wear that. No wonder the model looks so pissed off.

  • KT

It’s a dramatic look and I think she’s almost pulling it off, but it is a little too much dress for her. Also the waist is too high and it’s throwing off the proportions.

  • Jennifer Peters-Ahnberg

It’s a thickening sort of dress, isn’t it? I sort of love the tulle gauntlets sported by the model.

  • nowlo

This might have worked if the skirt were shorter and fuller. I like the idea of pairing highlighter yellow nails with girly frou-frou dresses too.

  • alyce1213

Tra-la-la-la-la. Also, what horrible yellow nails, unsuitable for anyone over the age of 16.

    • sagecreek

Oh, God, I skipped right over those.

ICK ACK PTUI. Or, in adult speak, you are so right.

      • kimmeister

I’m wowed by your spot-on onomatopoeia.

  • marlie

I’m not feeling it. And she’s just the type who *could* pull this dress off, but it’s just not working for me.

  • Paulette Kessler

    Goth Disney?

  • MilaXX

Nice try, but she’s too short for this and the nails are fug.

  • Trickytrisha

I dunno, there’s something this young lady that makes me want to hug her, then drag her to a better stylist. She’s got an adorable face, but needs some assistance with her choices. There are ways to look great and not lose your edgy cred.

  • willworktomorrow

    Awful. Just awful.

  • Madam Von Sassypants

Absolutely the wrong silhouette for her.
Which is sad, because she deserves something awesomely flattering.

  • ‘Becca’lise Deveaux

My dumb brain read that as Lily Collins and I was like SHE LOOKS WEIRD.

  • kimmeister

Oh dear. There’s just no reason for that black frippery hanging out from the inside of the sleeves and collar.

  • Laura Renee

  • StylishDreaming

I actually like this. She wears the dress so charmingly. She’s just one of those celebs who can straddle the line between twee and chic and get away with it (like Rachel Bilson or Ginnifer Goodwin).

  • quiltrx

I think it takes someone taller and with a higher fashion degree than hers to pull this dress off. It’s an almost, though.

  • SewingSiren

I’m seeing Halloween in everything. She’s the Evil Queen. So for me it’s good.

  • Florence Whytingale

I think she looks BOSS. SO there.

  • formerlyAnon

Props to her for trying something ambitious, referencing both Disney princesses and a starker reality behind the fantasy presented to children. Unfortunately, I think she’s not tall enough to make this work. She looks slightly awkward and thisclose to being drowned in the dress.

  • That top would be a grade C+ in Home Economics class, and the teacher would include the “+” because the student bothered to complete the project. This is UGLY. The sleeves are silly on both versions but the black trim is so amateur.

That’s a Chanel top? Much could be done with that white fabric. I don’t know how that slipped through as part of a collection.

    • demidaemon

I KNOW! I grade like that sometimes too, when I’m feeling especially magnanimous.

  • The dress looks a bit blown up?! Lily is such a petite girl and yet here, I want to knot some thread to her ankle and use her as balloon. Especially the top part is weird.

  • crash1212

I love this. It’s kind of edgy for Chanel, isn’t it? Guess I haven’t been paying attention. I’m just so happy to see Lilly Allen out and about. Seems that Lily went for a more ‘lady-like’ presentation which I love, but the model version is kick-ass.

  • GillianHolroyd

    Goth easter egg + chick?

  • Aurumgirl

    Another victim of Lagerfeld.

  • tereliz

I don’t know what’s bugging me the most: the skirt, the shoulders, or her NAILS! They can be seen from space.

  • Aidan B

Love her, but this is not her dress. I’m not sure it’s anyone’s dress, really.

  • Constant Reader

Girl, that is not your dress. Find something that doesn’t overwhelm your petite frame and send this to a deserving tall person (me, for instance).

  • ThaliaMenninger

It looks much better shorter and floatier on the model. On the tiny Miss Allen, it gets heavy and dust-moppy.

  • demidaemon

She looks like Bjork’s younger sister.

  • looks itchy on the arms and neck; I can’t get past that. Love her though. And her fingernagels!

  • Pterodactyl111

    I kind of love it.

  • nuxo87

Recently I was REALLY low on cash and debts were eating me from all sides! That was UNTIL I decided to make money.. on the internet. I went to surveymoneymaker dot net, and started filling in surveys for cash, and surely I’ve been far more able to pay my bills! I’m so glad, I did this!! – Wnlp
