I hope she’s pregnant and hiding it, because that’s the only excuse I can see for wearing this.

      • Alanna

That was my first thought when I saw last night’s episode. I wasn’t on the keeping-pregnancy-a-secret train until I saw this dress. Yikes. (I’m even more nervous about what it might mean for Olivia Pope. Her wardrobe serves as half her characterization. And I really don’t want to see an Olivia/Fitz baby storyline. Yikes again.)

        • VCR1

I think that they might have already finished filming season 3? I’m not sure, but I’m with you on writing the baby into the storyline!

          • Not applicable

writing a pregnancy into the storyline would be kinda awesome… how do you ‘fix’ that??

    • http://www.luxperdiem.com/ Paige @ LPD

this looked so much better on the daily show. Maybe it was just the camera.

      • MilaXX

Agreed, this look worked on camera.

        • Sarah

I didn’t think so. It felt misshapen to me. I don’t mind the print on her though. Just think the drop waist and thick middle isn’t doing her any favors.

      • Angela_the_Librarian

Maybe it looks better sitting down? The dropped waist, fullness of the bottom, and cut of top makes it look like a maternity sun dress while she’s standing.

      • Judy_S

I agree. I did wonder if she’s pregnant when she came on, but she sure did look beautiful on camera.

    • Diego!

If she is not pregnant, why would she bother wearing a dress that makes her look like one? Those shoes are too big and your lipgloss sucks! Honey, no!

    • PastryGoddess

She’s pole dancing so hard she going to have metal burns soon.

This look shouldn’t work but it does. Such is the power of a Ph D level fashion wearer as Ms Washington.

      • Slanted & Enchanted

Agreed! I wanted to defend this but couldn’t find real worlds other than mumbling “I like it…” over and over again. She looks adorable.

School Marm Sexiness! <3 I feel like Kerry and I have so much in common right now, right down to the yellow suede heels…

      • alyce1213

Snakeskin, I think. They’d be better in suede, though.

        • http://www.youtube.com/user/TheOctocornNetwork International Model

          Bless your eyes.

          • alyce1213

I haven’t seen ‘em, but I covet your yellow suede shoes.

    • amaranth16

Not a fan of the dress, but I think that lip color is gorgeous on her. Usually I think of her more as an icy pink or orchid kind of girl, but that sheer persimmon really looks nice.

    • mommyca

She definitely looked pregnant while she was sitting on the show…

    • poggi

While I am not a personal fan of tights and booties, I like this better with the sleeves and the tights on the model than as a breezy dress with heels.

    • alyce1213

This is almost as bad as the Prada Prairie dress the other day. Bad choices. Hormones acting up?

      • kirkyo

She made one good choice by removing the bow.

    • Jacqueline Wessel

Well at least the sleeves are gone, that helps a little. But still, there’s a lot going on with this dress. Pretty face though and it’s sweet how all her fans are so excited.

    • In_Stitches

Those are some horribly unflattering photos. Her face is looking rough; a real rarity coming from someone so beautiful. The dress is cut well, but it looks like it’s made out of a few pot holders cobbled together, so It’s an out. Shoes were a smart choice though.

      • quiltrx

I was just looking at her face…maybe this is our tip-off! So many women I’ve known personally (and some celebrities, KK for a recent example) have weird things go on with their faces, particularly around the nose, when they’re pregnant. Hmmm….

    • paginatrix

The dress is just terrible. (It even looks kind of shorter in the back, which is just ikk.)
But she was so pretty and charming on the show I forgive her.

Is that Brood as in she’s having a brood?

      Holly Hobbie S/S 2013

    • bertkeeter

      Strange fashion sense!

    • SugarSnap108

God help me, I like this, and I’m not sure why. I’m also assuming she’s using this as a maternity dress.

    • quiltrx

It’s not the best think she’s ever worn or anything, but it is working for her SO much better than by rights it should. No sleeves did a lot for it. The full skirt is flattering on her, even if the bodice is a bit shapeless.

    • http://www.ellenciompi.com/ NurseEllen

That is one tough dress to pull off, but it’s far more palatable without the sleeves, as Kerri is wearing it. Love the shoe color.

    • Lattis

I thought she looked really pretty. Loved the shoes with that dress.

    • TropiCarla

The shoes are fantastic. I saw her on TV last night in this, and hoped TLo would feature – did not love the dress.

    • crash1212

I love that dress. Love. It’s cute and quirky and easy and breezy. I love the dress and I love the shoes she chose to wear with it. Not everything has to be skin tight people.

    • NoveltyRocker

That dress is narrowing at the shoulder and thickening at the waist. When she opts for more girlish looks like this, I wonder if it’s the print and color that attract her or the looser silhouette. She is a woman with a great shape, I think her outings in more structured shapes compliment her so much more in silhouette and age.

    • WoodnSalt

This is the second no-waist dress she’s worn this week; but the pink Tory Burch she wore for Good Morning America was much more flattering – albeit a skosh too long.

    • procrastinatrice

That is the definition of horrid. It’s all so wrong.

    • Glam Dixie

Oh boy, I don’t like anything going on here.

    • decormaven

Aww, go ahead and announce the pregnancy. Cute shoes; can’t get behind the dress, though.

    • Meredith_P

She was so cute on the Daily Show. And it’s possible that dress is covering up some “weight gain”. Just sayin’. She seems very happy and excited about Scandal and everything. She’s got it goin’ on.

    • roadkill

I’m guessing she thinks she needs to prove herself as a fashion icon with the People title and all, but her recent choices have been daring but atrocious.

    • veronicafish

I watch Scandal (even if I kinda hate myself afterward). I don’t know what it is, but she bugs me. And I’ve heard that she’s not the most pleasant person when you meet her in real life. (Actually, I’ve heard she was quite sadiddy.)

Anyway, I have a feeling this looked much better on TV. There’s something that’s just not flattering about anything in these photos — even her face is less than spectacular.

    • Danielle

Ooooohkay, then. Not… what I would have picked.

    • Kelly

Ugh. But at least she got rid of the neck bow.

    • Violentcello

Nope. Nope, nope, nope. Is there a concealer mishap going on under her eyes, too, or is that just the lighting?

    • kimmeister

The notched edges on those shoes look like they would hurt when you walk in them.

    • Imasewsure

Wow I don’t like this… shoes would work if her arches fit in them.

    • demidaemon

This is weird, unflattering, and kind of ugly.

    • http://www.linkedin.com/pub/anne-mccandless/1a/238/38a Anne

I like that she takes chances and she is my number 1 girl crush for the last 18 months, but this isn’t working for me. At all. That shape is ridiculous. Looks like she is playing dress up with clothes that are too big for her.

    • http://twitter.com/irmaladuce_l8ly IrmaLaDuce

The Fug Girls are convinced she is pregnant, and I am starting to believe them.

    • SpillinTea

All I want to know is I want to hang out with the girl in purple behind Kerry. She looks FUN!

    • kikisayshi

This is sassy and fun, though the shape is awful. Still, I like it!

    • Krysta

that is a really terrible dress (I hope it’s a belly-hider) with really great shoes.

    • bitchybitchybitchy

How many tablecloths were kiled for this dress?

    • gksp

LOVE the pring mixing – not crazy about the shape tho.

    • http://frankbettecenter.org/ sleah_in_norcal

are these various prints, or is it some overlay trick. i keep looking at it trying to figure out how it’s made. at first i thought it was some cathedral window-type fabric manipulation. it’s intriguing, but the shape, i agree, is not very flattering.

    • cocohall

I think the hands over the bump are the giveaway. She is already protecting the baby although undoubtedly not consciously. It is just one of those reflexes of being pregnant. Non pregnant women don’t usually float their hands over their bellies. Hands on hips, yes. And sometimes hands (holding purse) over crotch. But not belly. And all of her recent silhouettes have been generally full through the mid-section. If she is pregnant, I give her a fashion pass for the duration. Although that “We’re not in Kansas, Toto,” blue gingham dress from the other day was questionable even for someone who might be pregnant.

    • BrooklynBomber

      Really? Best dressed?

    • Maya

      i didn’t even recognize her

    • http://asskickingadviser.com/ Ass Kicking Adviser

      Yes.

    • Fred Vaughn

Rewatching the actual interview a FOURTH time (The boyfriend is a RELIGIOUS Daily Show watcher, even the reruns!), the fit of this dress STILL looked all shades of wrong when she sat down. It looks better in these pics BY A LOT.
