It’s a little shapeless, but I like the overall look.

I like the idea, bet it’s comfortable, but the execution is a tad lumpy.

Does the bottom zip off to reveal ruffly panties in case you feel like playing tennis after lunch?

  • mlurve

It looks like a tennis outfit to me. She is gorgeous though!

  • decormaven

I got an A+ for bias tape application in Home Ec.

  • I think the piping around the arms takes it out of “cool Mod” and into “Wimbledon Warm Up”.

    • Tracy_Flick

I think it might have worked better in a color other than tennis-ball yellow?

“Where’s Andre… Agassi?” – Tim Gunn about this dress

  • Lifeguard formal wear.

  • Blair Sylvester

I both really like it and think it feels very tennis at the country club, i think the lack of hair makeup and jewelry heighten the tennis vibe

Am I way behind? I am so not loving the scuba suit fabric trend. Maybe it’s me though…..

  • alyce1213

IF it were a fitted little sporty dress, I might be on board. This is shapeless and despite its simplicity, looks bulky.
    And too literal.

The number one thing I’ve learned here from the uncles is how rarely anything FITS. If she had it tailored–a little shorter, nipped in at the waist, she would look 1000x better.

  • nannypoo

If this dress is intended to be worn for an athletic activity then shouldn’t she be wearing athletic shoes? If it’s not a golf or tennis dress, then what the hell is it?

  • luluransom

    Wow is that dumpy.

  • cbt22

Wasn’t there a PR print challenge where someone ended up just using the print as piping and got totally slammed for it? This reminds me of that.

    • Qitkat

The right print as piping can be very effective…on a slipcover! I had this done on a two cushion chair and it adds just the right amount of pizazz.

I’m kind of on the fence. I assume that this was a day event and relatively casual.

  • kimmeister

She’s wearing all b&w and decides to go with a gray clutch? That would have been the perfect opportunity to bust out the pop of color. The silly piping at the edge doesn’t count.

  • amanda siegelson

i like her – don’t hate this outfit – but she always seems to dress like a girl who thinks she’s fatter than she is.
be proud, girl! you look great!

    • mshesterp

You know, I think you’re right. I’ve seen her in other things, and because she’s not model skinny, I think she gives her body short shrift (also, a bit of “I’m just so happy to be here!” vibe, like she doesn’t think she deserves to own her style). She’s cute as a button, and needs things slightly more tailored with better styling. The more exposure she gets, the better off she’ll be. I’m guessing starring on a show with Kerry Washington can be a little (tons) intimidating on the style front.

…wow, I’m just full of armchair pop culture psychology today.

  • Imasewsure

I like the shoes… much preferable to the all white pump! Hope some of the other lady stars pick up on this and go two toned in the future!

  • Lori

Either the dress or the camera angle is really stumpifying, poor dear. Also, is this made out of white Naugahyde?

  • Kelly

I hate this. It’s shapeless and looks like a beach cover-up made out of the plastic on the back of a bathmat. The hair — give her a pair of square spectacles, and she could be Professor McGonagall. And don’t get me started on white shoes (even only half-white).

  • Trickytrisha

We’ve seen a number of celebs pics here from this event, Kerry Washington today and Nicole K and Charlize Theron notably. They weren’t dressed like they stopped off at their local sporting goods store and picked out this little tennis/apron hybrid for the event. This woman has been in the biz for nearly 10 years and is 32 years old, she oughta know better.

  • Qitkat

I don’t like this dress, because all it makes me think of is a cartoon dress, two-dimensional and outlined in sharpie.

  • TAGinMO

I wonder why she had to leave right in the middle of her dental X-rays??
