      She’s aging in reverse, right?
I could do without the contrasting stitching on the bodice and I wish her hair were a bit darker. Also, more black. Hurrah.
Even so, she’s looking pretty terrific.

      • ShaoLinKitten

The bitch looks fabulous, no? I had such a girl crush on her in the X-Files days, and she looks just as good as she did then if not better.

        • marlie

Though I miss the red hair, she looks better than she did in the X-files days!

      • H2olovngrl

She’s got a portrait in an attic somewhere, right? Along with Julia Louis D?

        • NYCGlamourpuss

That can be the only explanation.

    • Lauren Dorsee Dillon

She makes such a better brunette. I have all kinds of respect for her as an actress (she was amazing in Bleak House and House of Mirth) but she seems to have a difficult time just being Gillian Anderson. Neither the hair nor the dress seem to suit her. She needs darker hair and more tailored clothing.

      • tereliz

She will never not be a red-head to me. :)

      • BayTampaBay

She was also in aBBC remake of “The Great Expectation” and she was GREAT again.

    • TrixieConQueso

Maybe auditioning for “Coven?” Looking kinda vintage Spookatacular. Well played.

    • MilaXX

Dress is too long, but Gillian is doing her best to hold up her end of the celebrity all black clothing tour.

    • Lurk-a-lot

The dress looks absolutely great on a model. Over-processed bed hair, open-toe slip-on shoes and a weird posture turn it into a housedress.

    • Rand Ortega

I don’t like the dress at all, but God, I love her face.

    • 3boysful

I think the bodice of this dress and its skirt are not sympatico. The chevrons give the skirt a deco vibe (even tho the silhouette’s not right), while the top says schoolmarm trying to be sexy. The fagotting down the front of the bodice is weird. I guess in sum, that’s too much going on.

    • blondie707

WHYYY does every actress/singer/performer go blonde?! The dress is inoffensive, but pretty dull.

      • BuffaloBarbara

It’s definitely not her color, is it?

        • Chickadeep

If I recall correctly, her natural hair color is dark blonde; she has dyed it red for much of her career, but she’s not a natural redhead.

      • ShaoLinKitten

        She is a natural blonde.

    • BuffaloBarbara

Is it just a really long, tiring conference, or is it the dress and hair?

    • JDreesen

where, where where did the rest of the sleeves go? (i’m talking about the dress itself, on either the model or on Gillian.) it’s like we were promised sleeves, then we keep looking and waiting and waiting and looking, but…no…no sleeves. not even an inch of extra fabric shoved up under the armpits.

      Total Sleeve-Tease.

    • mommyca

She looks wonderful… and it wasn’t a long tiring conference, it was 1.5 hs of fun interview with David Duchovny about 20 years of the X files (I saw the livestream from the Paley Center)… they both looked great.

Me too, it was hilariously fun to watch

    • http://www.youtube.com/user/TheOctocornNetwork International Model

If you dye your hair from a shade that everyone woman coveted to one you look just fine in, you are dying your hair wrong. She just looks fine as a blond, but was she ever smoking as a red head.

    • teensmom99

      Better than the average Temperlay.

    • schadenfreudelicious

Have any of the BK’s seen her in The Fall? She is fantastic, and looks great.

      • LaSylphide

Yes, loved The Fall, and she was terrific in it. Actually, i always thought she was a much better actor than Duchovny; she really made The X Files.

        • ShaoLinKitten

I was always a Scullyist in the X-Files days. Loved The Fall right up to the non-ending, which annoyed me.

    • Adriana_Paula

Wrong shoes. Man, she looks great though.

    • River

She’s lovely but this is verging on a “Girl That is Not Your Dress.”

    • decormaven

I wish the sleeves were a little longer; the way the dress is styled, it almost looks like her shoulders are hunched. She looks good; not a fan of the Sun-In hair, though.

    • sagecreek

She’s got a picture in her attic, for sure.

      • Sunraya

And maybe a good doctor on speed dial? I can’t decide if she has had work done, or not. If so, it was good!!

    • giddypony

Oh I love this dress and her in it!

    • Chickadeep

Comparing the dress length on the runway and on her reminds me how short she is — the dress is practically a cocktail-length ankle-skimmer on her, while on the model it’s like an inch below the knee. Wrong length for her, I think, though I don’t mind the black (pale actresses do look good in it).

    • formerlyAnon

Those shoes are the one egregious cannot-be-recovered-from mistake here. Though I wonder about the skirt length and have definite opinions about the hair.

    • Trickytrisha

That dress needs a taller person, or she needs a shorter length. Otherwise it’s a perfectly nice dress, but doesn’t do much for her. Those shoes though… Dang it, we need a rather large dumpster (US trash bin that holds loads of rubbish) to accommodate all the shoes lately that we’re consigning to the trash.

    • Constant Reader

i’m just happy that one ladystar had the sense to have the skirt lined, and in an attractive way. For that, I am willing to forgive all minor quibbles.

    • Not applicable

quibble quibble- but you gotta admit Miss Gillian found her fashion path post X-files! She looks GREAT! I keep thinking of her as Skully w. her too red hair & orange lipstick… she looks so pretty now. Not to mention, hello, personal trainer! Did anyone see The Fall (her Netflix series) body is slammin’…. i’m so jealous.

    • jw_ny

Surprisingly generic as a blonde. That dress is just ok.

    • http://www.dogsdotcom.blogspot.com/ Plink

She looks great, classic and on top of the world!

    • quiltrx

I love the skirt of the dress, but something’s awry with the bodice. It looks like an extremely large piece of elastic.
She looks great except for the straw-ish hair.

    • SusannaGA

For some reason, long blonde hair seems to make even the most distinctive women look generic and blah. For instance, blonde Kelly Clarkson looks disastrous to me.

    • Michelle Wilson

I love this dress. I wish Madonna would dress like this instead of all the costume. It’s a grown up dress with just a little bit of edge to it in the zipper detailing. I also love that Gillian is allowing herself to age well.

    • DesertDweller79

She’s too short for it. The proportions look wrong when it hits her so low.

On a different note, I love the look of the skirt on the model who is walking away in that runway shot. That looks like a very fun black and white skirt.

    • BeeBeauNYC

God she looks amazing. How does she do that? Love the ensemble too, and the blond highlights really work for her. More X-Files, please!!

    • ConnieBV

      SCULLEEEEEEEEEE

    • tixilyttik

      It’s beautiful on the model.
Another case of “Big Dress Little Actress”
      It never works.

      • Datura

I don’t think the fit is bad at all, but the length is wrong for someone her height. She looks about three feet tall with that hem dangling to her ankles.

      • vitaminC

They’re freebies/loaners/samples cut to fit the gazelle-like limbs of a runway model–6′ tall and 98#. Thus, their equally slender sisteren can technically wear them, just as floor-length ballgowns.

    • Kimberly Wilcox

I dig the dress, and she looks fabulous. I’m not so sure I love both together. it almost seems like the dress doesn’t quite fit her right, or something.

    • http://www.ellenciompi.com/ NurseEllen

I don’t care for the blonde hair, and I don’t like the white stitching on the bodice, but other than that she looks pretty good. The dress is too long on her–they should have take it up at the waist, I think.

    • Vaniljekjeks

Bitch looks fabulous, but needs more polished hair and more bad-ass shoes. She looks incredible though! Easily 15 years younger than her actual age.

    • NYCGlamourpuss

I LOVE this! The dress is beautiful, the shoes are nice, and she looks amazing!

    • Jacqueline Wessel

She looks fabulous. I like the skirt of this dress, but the bodice looks wonky…too narrow at the shoulders and too wide in the midriff.

    • Lattis

She looks like the perfect Hitchcock blonde here. Kind of icy and perfect.
Man, that makes me wish she could immediately be signed to do a Hitchcock-esque movie. Something with a North by Northwest vibe.

    • lilazander

Love Anderson’s look, but she’s too blond for her own good.

    • RoseJB

That dress needs to move to be pretty.

    • vitaminC

Oh Lady Dedlock, you’ll never become the talk of the Season in town with that ill-fitting (albeit lovely) frock. Doff it immediately.

    • E. D.

Love her. I know that’s close to her natural hair color, but bring back the red!
