      Her hair looks SO GOOD.

      • hexiadetrix

        Hardest-working toupée since Liberace.

        • KirFla

          Win!

        • SportifLateBoomer

Serious question — how do you know it’s a wig?

I admit, I am not good at spotting the weaves/wigs/extensions among celebs. What are the telltale signs?

          Inquiring minds want to know…

          • mlle

You can’t see her scalp at the part. There are some people on here who know more; that’s the only thing I can remember.

            • bxbourgie

Her natural hair is red, but it’s also very thin. There are some pics of it on the internet if you Google. She’s said she wears the wigs for fullness.

Edit – her natural hair is blonde, not red. But its still quite thin.

        • Alloy Jane

Haha! That was too funny. Honestly, I just don’t pay attention enough the first time around to assess things beyond the superficial, but yup it’s a wig. She’s been on here a few times with her natural hair and it is very wispy. I ain’t mad at her for wearing a wig though. I would totally wear them if I had the money to play dress up. How fun would that be?

        • MK03

          That’s quite a feat, then. I’ve never seen a natural-looking wig that doesn’t have a lace front…

      • GenieinTX

I really really want that hair. You really think wig?

      • Trickytrisha

Wig or not, she has found the perfect hairstyle for her and I say Brava!

    • mommyca

Paging Amanda Peet! This is how you do coat with pants on the red carpet! Brava Christina!

      • http://marshmallowjane.com/ marshmallowjane

I agree! I love Amanda but I wish she’d learn how to dress herself. Amanda would look great in this, as Christina does.

    • Danielle

      PERFECT

      • Toby Wollin

Exactly. And a luscious color on her as well. And the whole ‘babyheads alert’ is fallacious. The coat fits, the top fits, Miss Hendricks looks gorgeous and this is just mmmmmmm, good! (and I love the shoes but I’m really loving the coat, seriously).

    • MoHub

Well done. And the right neckline for a change, although that slight glimpse of babyheads is a bit distracting.

      • xmixiex

she has boobs. get over it.

        • MoHub

So do I, but I don’t push them up to the base of my neck.

          • xmixiex

when they’re that large, they need to go somewhere. “babyheads” is generally what happens when boobs are pushed up and padded to death and/or fake.

          • Katesymae

Oh c’mon. 1) That is the TINIEST little sliver of cleavage. 2) She has the type of boobs that are a bit difficult to hide, even with the most modest neckline. Get over yourself.

            • leahpapa

Seriously! The whole “babyhead” opprobrium irks me – comes very close to bodysnark.

            • boweryboy

Nice use of the word “opprobrium”. But c’mon, they do look like baby heads. It’s not so much a body snark, moreso an observation.

            • YoungSally

But these babyheads are no where near Mimi’s recent twin photo.

            • xmixiex

Yes!!! That’s what annoys me so much about it. It’s definitely body snark in situations like this. What the hell is wrong with tasteful cleavage? It’s like you can jump on the “we’re not all skinny, like models!” but if you’re not flat-chested like runway models, THAT’S ok to criticize?

          • Joanna

Her boobs are not pushed up at all – that’s what an ample bosom looks like when it is adequately supported by proper foundation garments. I have the exact same build as Ms. Christina, and it is impossible for me not to have cleavage.

          • KateMaryC

There’s actually one thing that a lot of people don’t consider, but that I experience so understand. There is more to a figure than boobs. She also has a high waist. Look at full body shots of her. Naturally, her narrowest part is quite high. And, she has a small frame on top. So, it’s not just that her chest is large – it’s that there isn’t much torso on which to put it.

            • marlie

You have a point. And I think one of her biggest issues with dressing herself for the red carpet is that she/her stylists often get the waist wrong in the clothes that they put her in.

            • Lower L

One thing I have run into as a busty woman (albeit one significantly less endowed than Ms. Hendricks) is that clothing designers seem a bit topographically challenged: they may provide enough fabric to accommodate the girls around the equator, but there isn’t enough fabric from pole to pole. I blame this phenomenon whenever I see Christina in a “babyheads” outfit. As for the pictures above, I think she looks both fantastic and comfortable. Love the hair and makeup. My hatred for booties remains, but once I saw that CH has bunion problems (and I note this in a non-body-snark way), I vowed never to criticize her choice of shoe, so I’m remaining silent on these.

          • Catiline

Are we looking at the same pictures? They are not pushed up anywhere CLOSE to the base of her neck. I swear Miss Hendricks could wear a sandwich board and people would find a way to misuse the “babyheads” term.

            • NYCGlamourpuss

I have to agree. We’ve seen some ridonkulous “babyhead” pictures of her here on this site, but this isn’t one of them. For Christina Hendricks to show off nothing more than a little hint of cleavage means she’s got the right support, the right neckline, and a flattering garment.

          • Ginny Ellsworth

As others have said, sometimes there is not much room on a small framed women to put the “boobage”. Everyone loves this beautiful woman and wants her to look her best….what her best is has been a matter of discussion AND opinion. Since she is having such issues with clothes both bought and given, I wonder if she would do better to have a seamstress or tailor to design or adapt her clothing. It could/would/should be expensive for that kind of personal attention but the results would be worth it. That way the cleavage is intentional and not inadvertent.

            • MoHub

Believe me, I have similar issues, although I’m not quite as big as Christina. I’m carrying D cups on a size-4 body, with narrow shoulders and a short torso. But I know there are ways to display intentional cleavage and cover any unintentional reveal without resorting to turtlenecks or caftans.

            • Ginny Ellsworth

Totally agree. I should have been a quarter horse. Broad shoulders, deep chest, short waist, long legs for my height. And boobage. At 11. I could stop traffic in high school with a deep breath and a v -neck sweater. But my mother can sew which helped me tremendously to tailor clothes to fit me. That way I could decide how I wanted to display my assets. Or ‘vast estates’ if you watch Monty Python.

            • MoHub

Wasn’t that “vast tracts of land”?

            • deliadee

“Huuge tracts of land.” Said in a Michael Palin voice with a Scottish accent.

            • MoHub

But, I just want to sing!

            • deliadee

“Stop the music. Look, you’re marryin’ Princess Lucky, so you’d better get used to the idea.”

              I love that scene!

            • Mazenderan

              Yorkshire

          • marlie

I think her cleavage is fine here. I don’t think her boobs aren’t being aggressively shoved up under her chin at all; it seems like this is the normal cleavage you get when you have a chest the size of hers.

        • Marian Humin

          she bought them

      • NYCGlamourpuss

But you said so yourself – the “slight glimpse” of babyheads – your wording. I mean, she’s mostly covered and you can hardly see that little bit of cleavage. To complain about it *in this particular instance* doesn’t really make sense. Other times? Sure, I can understand that when they’re pushed up all over the place. But that’s not the case this time around.

    • Blair Sylvester

she looks so confident/pleased with herself and that is awesome

    • seelebrennt

i hate the shoes, but she looks great otherwise. LOVE her hair.

      • Ginger

They really do look like bedazzled Payless shoes, don’t they? I can’t believe that I just said that about Armani shoes.

        • sagecreek

I like the shoes, but if there’s one thing I’ve learned from hanging out here, it’s that I apparently have terrible taste in shoes.

          • H2olovngrl

Meh, me too. Sometimes, I think.I am alone in liking some full outfits! Ce la vie!

          • Ginger

Never fear…we ALL have terrible taste in different areas. Isn’t that what makes us fascinating creatures?!?!

FWIW, I like the idea of the shoes, but think the construction of them looks shoddy.

            • marlie

That’s what makes the conversations fun. As long as people don’t take things too seriously/personally.

          • marlie

            That’s impossible! :)

    • geans

Her hair is to die for. Also the coat.

    • eowyn_of_rohan

That color is divine on her. She looks like a sexy flasher.

    • http://dontmakeitlikeimdumb.blogspot.com/ annabelle archer

That color is an abomination. Kill it. Kill it with fire.

      • Ginny Ellsworth

The coat, the collar, her hair, her lipstick, the dress on the woman in the background or the backdrop?

The red carpet might be affecting the way it looks to the camera if you are talking about the coat.

        • http://dontmakeitlikeimdumb.blogspot.com/ annabelle archer

Sorry, I meant the coat. I first saw this on my phone, while outside, but even now back at my desk, on a monitor, I hate the coat. Passionately. Love the Christina though, she is a goddess of peaches and cream.

          • Denise Alden

I wanna be the goddess of peaches and cream!

    • Ms. Schmidt

Everything above the neckline is spectacular. Like the coat in theory but the fit doesn’t seem quite right and the color? Well, the less said the better. The shoes are awful.

    • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

      She looks awesome!!!!!!

    • In_Stitches

That pale peach is just an ugly color-I can’t imagine a person it would flatter. The cut and length are great for her though.

      • Jean Marie Downing

I think it would look lovely on someone with darker skin, it needs contrast.

        • Magatha

But that’s what the black collar/lapels are for. IMO anyway. Pale peach is tricky, but on her – with the black accents – I think it works.

    • mlle

Not sold on the pants with the shoes (although unlike many BKs, I like booties), but otherwise a win. Her makeup is to die for.

    • HomeOfficeGirl

Yay, Christina!! She looks amazing!! The hair and face – flawless!! No mortal would likely get past that gaze to notice the shoes – which are not great – but MUCH better ones she has worn in the past.

    • Chickadeep

      Did she get new Gays?

      • eowyn_of_rohan

Maybe she just got Gays, period.

    • tereliz

      LOVE this.

    • Ginny Ellsworth

I just noticed how beautiful her hands are. She is made to wear rings & things and bangles and gloves.

      • H2olovngrl

She obviously takes exceptionally good care of her skin, so I am guessing she is careful all around; with her nails, cuticles, knuckles, etc.

    • MilaXX

      hate that coat jacket thing

      • mjude

        really? I love it.

        • MilaXX

I hate that color peach and I really dislike the lapels on it.

    • rkdgal

Where does she get her wig(s)? I WANT that one!!

      • Sarah

How is it a wig? Ain’t she famously a redhead of that particular order?

        • mlle

She’s a natural blonde who dyes her hair red, and has said on the record that she wears hairpieces for volume.

          • Sarah

Thanx. I didn’t know. She’s pulling it off like a champ, in that case!

        • rkdgal

She is a redhead, but she’s also known for wearing lots of wigs and pieces, and once you know what a good quality wig looks like (thanks, RuPaul!), you can spot when someone’s wearing one. I’m pretty sure, based on the (non) part and how it’s sitting on her head that this is a wig. A GREAT one, and one that I want to wear.

          • filmcricket

Actually, as mlle said, she’s naturally a blonde. But she’s been dyeing her hair since she was a teenager. This is for sure a wig, but it’s one of the better ones I’ve seen on her – it’s gorge.

            • rkdgal

You are correct, of course, about her being a blonde originally. Sometimes she uses pieces of her real hair (dyed, natch) to blend in with a wig or piece, which makes it even harder to tell that it’s not all her hair. Well played on this one!!

    • Jaeda Laurez

she knows she loves some uglass shoes. I don’t like the peach, and I’m torn on the coat; maybe I’d like it more if it were fitted differently. Like the purse though.

    • xmixiex

the proportions on this are so off. the shoes are fug, then the bit of ankle showing just cuts her up. if the pants were full length or the boots came to the ankle, it would be much better. coat’s pretty matronly, though.

    • Rhonda Shore

Her skin looks so amazing. Love this.

    • http://www.youtube.com/user/TheOctocornNetwork International Model

I am in deep covet with those shoes.

    • RussellH88

This is giving me life today.

    • susan6

I want to love this, but the color of the coat makes her skin look grey. If that coat were any other color, this would be a WERQ.

    • Katesymae

I’m mixed on the coat. It screams Clinique Counter Saleslady to me. Love the rest, especially how confident she seems wearing it!

    • Tracy_Flick

She’s so beautiful. Hair and makeup look great. I would make a few teeny tiny tweaks – bolder color on the jacket, and lighter, strappier shoes.

    • HM3

She looks great. I would have liked to see a different color on the coat, and ANY other shoe, but otherwise, I like this!

    • decormaven

I like all of this, but wish she had worn either dark hose or booties. Either way, it would have elongated the line and been more flattering.

    • AndreaSkates

      So gorgeous I am speechless.

    • Laura Renee

Stunning. One of her best looks yet.

    • Tanya Wade

I’m not entirely sold on the shoes, but my goodness, those colors on her! She is a dreamsicle come to life.

    • Rachel

Amazing, amazing (minus the shoes, which I’ll pretend I just don’t see)!

    • NYCGlamourpuss

I kind of like the coat… there’s something about it that’s just off by a skosh. LOVE the pants, shoes, hair, makeup, and clutch, though!

    • filmcricket

From the cleavage up she looks amazing. It’s not my fave colour of coat, but I don’t object to it on her. I do object to how it’s completely obliterating her waist. And those shoes… let us never speak of them again. With that face though, everything else is practically irrelevant.

    • Joanna

Love the whole look, head to toe. Most of all, I love how comfortable she very obviously is!

    • GillianHolroyd

I love the look except for the color of the coat.

    • msdamselfly

Hair and makeup very pretty Love the shoes!

    • majorbedhead

She always makes me wish I batted for the other team.

      • formerlyAnon

She’s one of the reasons I know for sure I’m just not wired that way. Because she is . . . a-MAZ-ing, indeed, and yet my fence-jumping impulse remains intellectual.

    • formerlyAnon

      Love it.

I might quibble about the spot at the ankle where the great pants and pretty great shoes peer at each other across a short expanse of skin. But since I am not sure what I’d change that would be an improvement, I will mention. Not quibble.

    • elirt

      Love! She’s looking great!

    • teensmom99

Echos of early 60s Joan updated to contemporary. Gotta love the fun old Joan with 2013 touches. May not all be perfect from a fashion point of view, but she looks happy going with this compromise, so I’m happy too.

    • sagecreek

      Our girl is learning!

      She looks lovely.

    • Mudskipper

Don’t remember when it was last time I liked peachy beige on a pale girl. Great!
A tad bit too narrow in the bust, though.

    • River

Love it. Verging on Blanchett-level elegance.

    • Synnae

Shoes. Awful. And not aided by wearing them with skinny jeans.
Coat. Not sold on the colour but my main issue is the tailoring. Yes, I know she has boobs – I have them too so I know how annoying it is to find a well-fitted coat- but a bit of nipping in the waist would not have hurt. She looks a bit boxy now.
      Hair, make-up and smile. Fantastic.

    • vitaminC

I really wish that coat were more nipped in at her tiny waist, but man… Who could even notice with THAT FACE? Among her other sterling qualities, she makes gayboys like me understand the whole hetero thing.

    • Wellworn

I say simple, chic, and classic. Don’t hate her because she’s beautiful.

    • lobsterlen

So close … for the most part loving it buttt the coat is both too big and too small. The buttons are pulling across her chest and it needed to be taken in at the waist a bit. I really don’t understand how these tailor problems happen for celebrities.

    • Nazzzy

      Gorgeous!

    • marlie

What I love: Her hair, her makeup, those shoes, HER.

The pants/leggings are fine. I wish the jacket wasn’t quite so shapeless, and I wish it was in a color other than “skintone.” The only thing that remotely saves it is that it has that black lapel to break things up.

    • http://armchairauthor.wordpress.com/ LesYeuxHiboux

What is with her and the color peach? It just doesn’t do anything for her coloring at all. The jacket is both pulling and obliterating her shape, and the long coat with the cropped pants and ankle boots breaks her up so badly she looks positively stumpy.

Christina, you are so beautiful. WHY?!

    • Heather

I actually love the coat. On my screen it looks like kind of a pale butternut squash color.

      • filmcricket

Yeah, that’s what it looks like to me too. I’m not seeing peach.

    • nannypoo

She has the best red carpet face of anyone. She always looks beautiful. And this outfit is great on her.

    • Jacqueline Wessel

I wish the coat were a little more figure-flattering.

    • Adriana_Paula

I don’t like it, but I like it, if you know what I mean. She just looks like a nicely dressed human being one might walk by on the street.

    • Therese Bohn

      Just peachy! :-)

    • Alloy Jane

This is a super cute look for her. Love everything but the shoes. And I do wish the coat was a different color, or a deeper shade than it is because it’s too fleshy for my tastes. Not that it’s her flesh color, as she is so fair, but still. It makes me think of Buffalo Bill.

    • ChaquitaPhilly

      What fun!

    • Sunraya

She is pretty short. This outfit stumpifies her. I just don’t know why this woman, with all of her money and all of the good design she wears on Mad Men, cannot figure this out.

    • http://marshmallowjane.com/ marshmallowjane

      Fab. Fab. Fab.

    • ThesisMonkey

      Her makeup is perfect
