sorry to be blunt, but that is one hideously ugly dress. and hair.
    he looks dull but fine.

    • CPK1

      don’t forget the shoes.

      • amanda siegelson

you’re right, of course… just ick.

    • Hetha Innis

      even the makeup is bad.

  • Jessica Freeman

Her shoes are just too much for the dress. It’s all a little boring….

  • They look like normal people at an office party.

  • Snailstsichr

Her purse is huge! Is she bringing magic tricks in it??

    • decormaven

I figured it was her laptop.

  • Lori

If she wanted to wear that dress she needed pretty much everything about the styling to be different.

He is very gray. So very gray.

  • hughman

They are starring in a Lifetime Movie about the making of “Will and Grace”.

  • anotherkate

His shoes are weird. She needs more makeup to make her look read “evening.”

  • He should always dress like Tristan Thorn. She… should send that dress to Mia Wasikowska and stick the purse up her stylist’s arse. Surely she can demand better?

    • DamiaRain

“Yes!!!” to always dressing like Tristan Thorn!

    • Tess Danesi

I refuse to believe there was a stylist involved in this look. If there was, your suggestion is really the only way to go.

    • As long as that’s post-Captain Shakespeare Tristan Thorne, I heartily agree.

      • He was pretty cute beforehand, but definitely post makeover.

  • Kate Andrews

He’s cute, but I hate her hair and dress.

  • Kelly

Nope, boring. Hate both their shoes: hers make her ankles look stubby, and his look like he just walked through mud.

  • MilaXX

Still with the somber clothing celebs? They don’t look bad, but her bag is much too business like.

  • nannypoo

I have never seen this woman before so I don’t know how good she’s capable of looking but I’m guessing this falls way short. The shoes are ugly and unflattering and they’re giving her cankles. The bag is also ugly. I don’t dislike the dress, but it requires better hair, not this odd pile. She seems to have nice makeup and a cute boyfriend, so all is not lost.

  • mlle

They could both look a lot better.

With jeans and a good sweater, her bag could be part of a killer street style look.

  • decormaven

Those shoes are so wrong for that dress. They look like Daniel Green slippers kicked up to hostess wear.

  • Tasha

In spite of (or maybe because of) the less than perfect clothes, they just look like people that I would actually like to know – also she was fantastic in Broadchurch).

  • tereliz

Girl, Those Aren’t That Dress’s Shoes.

  • NYCGlamourpuss

I like the dress, but her hair, makeup and shoes aren’t making the whole look come together.

  • Jacqueline Wessel

The black is so refreshing after the purples of Amy and Helena.

  • crash1212

Cute couple. It’s nice to see her smiling after all the intense drama on Broadchurch. I quite like this dress and I love it with the shoes. Actually, I think all the choices she made are fab. He’s adorable and does the tone-on-tone very nicely…with texture and pattern…of course, I’m a sucker for a lovely gray suit. I think this is a solid 9 from both.

  • Molly

His suit looks itchy and her dress looks scratchy, but they look cute!

  • YoungSally

I don’t know who she is—but I like Charlie Cox….so sad when he got killed off on Boardwalk Empire.

    • Not applicable

thank you! I could not come up with how I ‘knew’ him!

  • marlie

    Who are these people?

I like her dress, but the shoes and bag are all wrong. And he is wearing too much grey. Too much.

  • Adrianna Grężak

    RIP Owen :-*(

  • alyce1213

The only things objectionable to me are her shoes and clutch. Otherwise, they look nice.

  • kirkyo

They look too adorable and happy for me to think anything negative.

  • Calinda_L

She looks like… when you (ie, a non-celebrity) are going to a big party and decide that you want to use Gwyneth Paltrow circa the first Iron Man (or Sandra Bullock circa her current pole dance) as your inspiration and you get a Gwynnie-ish dress and Gwynnie-ish shoes and get your hair and makeup all done and then… you still look like you, just in a black dress and Payless shoes.

    Her skin looks nice, though.

  • Trickytrisha

Ms. Whittaker brilliantly played a grieving mother on the British crime drama series Broadchurch. It was recently shown by BBC America in the US. The star was David Tennant of Dr. Who fame. I’m desperately hoping that there’s more to come, because this was a pretty darned great series. It’s nice to see Jodie get some publicity here. She’s been a working actor in Britain for years.

The dress, hair, makeup are fine for me. Shoes not so fine. Male companion fine as well.

  • Hermione

This hairstyle is not becoming. In Broadchurch, she wore her hair brown and down and she was gorgeous. She’s very young, I think, but this hairstyle is aging and also detracts from the prettiness of her face. Plus the shoes are horrible.

  • Constant Reader

I want to burn those shoes with fire.

  • formerlyAnon

I like the dress as a nod to the lace trend with none of its drawbacks (resemblance to elderly relative’s curtains or linens, view of undergarments or lack thereof.) She needs better accessories, though. Possibly a better hairstyle. Shoes are not to my tastes, but I especially think the smallish but dangly earrings give a maiden aunt quality she’d have been better avoiding.
