Pretty colors, not sure about the shape. Great face and hair.

  • Sobaika

This is a paper mache dress paired with the wrong shoes.

    • Who talked her into those things??? So bad. So wrong. So ugly.

    • BayTampaBay

I thought the same thing. The shoes do not go with the dress. I am amazed that someone could be too dumb to see this.

  • Scroll down gasp of horror.

    • Winter_White

Reminded me of a terrible fountain pen accident I had once.

  • Honey, never let a blacksmith style your feet again.

  • decormaven

That gown was shortened so we could see those …. shoes… (Faints)

  • KinoEye

In what universe are those things on her feet considered “sandals”? Or any kind of shoe, for that matter? And that tie-dye mix of blues… this makes me grumpy.

  • MoHub

This started out so promising, and then I scrolled down, and it’s just one “no” after another.

    • Something like this?
      “Hmmmm, she’s pretty….No necklace, that’s a shame…Oh no, they shortened it, no that’s not right….what is she?….what is on her feet?…NOOOO,….”

      • decormaven

I have been chortling at this photo, which may be unkind. Can’t help it – those shoes are totally inappropriate for the look. Such a shame, because her hair and makeup are good and the colors of the dress become her.

        • Sarah

The colors do, but not the enormous bell-like shape thereof. Gee willikers, tha’s ugly.

      • MoHub

Pretty much my mental journey on this.

  • YousmelllikeAnnaWintour

Why is everyone getting it wrong at this event?

  • Ginger

Well, I do like the makeup and earrings. *shuts mouth about the rest*

  • charlotte

Someone didn’t get the idea of this dress.

  • lydiawlee

Why is she wearing the tablecloth off the elementary school art table? (The long version looks so much better on the model…and it looks like it has some flow.)

    • conniemd

Proportions on the model’s long version are so much better. This is more chopped off and like a bubble dress.

  • mjude

    seriously with the shoes?

  • Malibufire

Girlfriend, those are not your orthopedic shoes.

  • rissa42210

What the hell did they do to that dress! Way better on the runway. And those SHOES.

  • MilaXX

She took a pretty dress and uglied it up by making the bottom half look like that. Shoe another big misstep. Overall look is a big NO.

  • NoveltyRocker

They butchered such a lovely dress. Those shoes, chunky and clunky as they are, are pretty awesome and need a different outfit.

  • Sarah

In addition to the poor alteration and appalling shoes, I just realized that sucker is also riding about four inches too low. It is a testament to how oogly that ensemble is that I didn’t note that on the jump, because droopy bustlines drive me nuts.

    • MoHub

And the skirt hem is higher in the back than the front. Very sloppy.

    • marlie

Theres so much wrong that the droopy bust is the least offensive of the problems.

  • Emily Smith

Why is everyone cutting the full length skirt off these lovely dresses and turning them in to awkwardly cropped things?

    • tereliz

Apparently there is a shortage of perfect cocktail dresses in the world?

      • Emily Smith

Hm yes, a sudden dearth of cocktail dresses. That’s excuse they should be using “they burned the local Barney’s down!” or something.

    • conniemd

If I had to guess a designer of the runway dress Monique Lhuillier would have been one of three I’d pick. The shortened version should never have a designer of beautiful gowns name attached to it. It also looks better with the purple at the bottom in the runway look and much less like a tie-dyed material.

  • Rand Ortega

Those shoes are terrible. Kills the delicacy of the dress.

  • kirkyo

The next post needs to have some serious pretty in it

  • Jacqueline Wessel

Beautiful dress butchered so awful shoes will not be hidden.

  • tereliz

This dress loses all impact with a cocktail-length skirt. The shoes are hideous.

  • Diego!

I love the colors of this dress, but the long version is way better than the one Ahna is wearing… She should have sticked to that!

  • Jessica Freeman

Why did she go and ruin a perfectly nice dress by whacking it off and then pairing it with those shoes? All of the above items should be burned.

  • filmcricket

Way to take a lovely gown and Sears-ify it, whoever did that. Also, those are like the Voldemort of shoes.

    • mcb

Sears-ify and Voldemort shoes! You win!! xo

  • Miss WKS

Hell, Monique shoulda just sewn some starfish and anemones on the thing to complete the National Geographic underwater series thing…

  • SugarSnap108

I really like this on the model, and … Ahna seems like a nice girl.

  • crash1212

Those shoes are so wrong with that dress.

  • Zubair Ghumro

The runway version is a piece of art and those shoes need to burn in hell for eternity!

  • nannypoo

    She’s joking, right?

  • Nancer

That skirt is really odd. Too bad, she’s a beautiful girl. Hey, her hair and makeup are pretty!

  • Trickytrisha

Well, crud. She shops at Hooves R Us? And wears the ugly step-sister version of a sensational dress? Holy cats on a raft.. this is a whole new level of awful on a pretty young woman who probably by now wishes she’d made better choices. I would have loved to hear TLo on this one.

    • Anplica Fiore

Love the runway version. The shape on Ahna’s is just not right for her. Send it back!

  • jen

Woah. That outfit is a tragedy.

  • AzSportsGirl

The dress looks like she rolled the bottom up to avoid a puddle and forgot to unroll it. The shoes hurt my soul. The hair is a crying shame. She does have lovely shoulders and a wonderful smile.

  • Tatiana Luján

    her makeup is lovely.

  • Imasewsure

Hopefully the rest of that pretty long dress is just tucked under that stupid shortened hoop version, right? “Oh no” was my initial reaction and it still stands… just oh no….

  • boweryboy

I’m beginning to get irritated with ladystars altering otherwise striking floor length gowns into shorter, frumpier, fuglier versions.

This could have been a cute dress if it was only shortened. Changing the silohuette by the addition of an A-line, honked up in the back skirt turns it into a shitastic shitstorm of shit. And don’t get me started on how wrong the shoes and hair are.

  • That dress is overwhelming her. Judy Jetson sadness.

  • kim bunchalastnames

it started out so right and then just went SO wrong.

  • E. D.

Shower hair, towel dress, horrid shoes. Yikes.

  • marlie

She should have kept the dress long. It’s too stiff, and it wasn’t hemmed enough for her. Also, the shoes should be burned. Also, also, her makeup looks really pretty.

  • lunchcoma

Why do people keep trying to make heavy booties work with flimsy evening dresses? I don’t know that I hate those shoes, but they’d be so much better with jeans or a fall day dress.

  • Myra Amler

The way this dress has been altered is criminal. The runway look is so pretty.

    • quiltrx

Amen. Looks like they stretched it over a huge lampshade.

      • Myra Amler

I do not understand the change in shape, hideous.

  • Those shoes. WHY?

  • Tie-dyed disaster. What was elegant as a gown is just awkward as a shorter dress.

  • littlemac8

    reverse mullet hem ~~ NO

  • Olga Frayman

    not loving the cropped version.
