This looks like a product of a PR unconventional materials challenge.

    • Heather

Indeed, and a losing entry at that.

    • Julie Ree

      A challenge they didn’t win.

    • NYCGlamourpuss

It looks like one of those disposable paper hospital gowns you put on at a doctor’s appt!

      • demidaemon

It, sadly, reminds me of the dress Allison (from PR S3) got auffed for. Hers wasn’t the worst in that challenge, but it was definitely bad. And looked scarily similar to this dress.

  • Leigh Montano

    It looks like an apron.

    • Nicholas

      Well I want whatever she’s serving. :P

      • Ginny Ellsworth

        Brunch?

        • Nicholas

Killer smile and attitude was what I had in mind.

          • Glenn Johnson

Which is why Daisy Maebelle has four stars on her apron as she serves you Grandma’s Big Eater Breakfast with a smile!

  • Tanya Wade

Aprons R Us, in the house!

  • Jacquelyn

The real dress in UNDER the apron, right?
Needs a stronger lip and some nail polish on the toes.
Also I want to burn the shoes. Not a fan.

  • LaSylphide

I like this, for the most part. Casual look and a pretty color. Don’t like the shoes, though: too heavy and too beige. Is this a (rare) time when white shoes might have worked?

  • Sobaika

Ick. The views from the side and from the back are pretty awful.

    • Rhonda Shore

I like it from the front, but the side view is really bad…still, she’s been looking so pretty lately, she must be happy w/her new beau…

  • Katesymae

Scarlett went shopping in my teenaged closet again. Cute shoes though!

  • http://www.luxperdiem.com/ Paige @ LPD

serving domesticated barbie realness right here. That fit is just… off.

  • flamingoNW

I like the dress but don’t care for the shoes or the earrings. A little glitter overdose too on the feet there….

    • Katesymae

      Looks like water.

    • Amanda Welliver

Looks like someone spilled a drink on her…

  • TamraLS

I hate everything about this look with the intensity of 1000 suns. Those shoes are an affront to anything Roger Vivier ever created. If he were still alive, he would smack whomever made them. I want to do it on his behalf!

  • marlie

Unflattering, (seemingly) poorly made dress, and WRONG shoes.

  • MilaXX

Awkwardly weird dress. Looks likes an apron or restaurant uniform. Hate the platform sandal paired with it.

  • nannypoo

She has a very large head. In this outfit her feet also look huge, and the dress looks like a home ec project for a child’s birthday party, so I would say this is a major fail.

  • Artesian_Belle

This is just straight up one of the ugliest and most ill-fitting dresses I’ve ever seen on here.

  • Diego!

Cupcake dress + Ugly shoes = OUT. This is a terrible look! She looks happy, and hair and make up are nice.

  • lobsterlen

Payless shoes with a Dressbarn dress. Those shoes should be burned and use that dress to start the fire.

    • Not applicable

lololol… in that fire should be the person who chose the name “Dress Barn” for a women’s clothing store!

  • smh4748

WHAT is that neckline? It’s very bad, and does nothing for her. The dress looks homemade, and not in a “cool, you made that!?” kind of way. I do, however, like the color very much.

  • Andrea Lentz

It looks too big in the bust…is that even POSSIBLE on Scar Jo?? I think she is beautiful when dressed properly which is rare.

  • AlisonS

Is it me or does she look like a child pairing those shoes with this dress. I suppose it could just be the dress now that I think about it.

  • hughman

It’s always important that your RC dress be extra-absorbent.

  • Nancer

Does she have glitter on her feet? I think this is a really cute dress.

    • Mismarker

I think it may be rain or something spilled on her? Her shoes have some wet spots, too.

      • Nancer

That could be it – honestly, it confused me!

  • Heather

Those shoes are loathsome. Plus they make her feet look gigantic, and she’s tiny. I can only imagine the terror they would inspire in my size 9s.

    • poggi

I should have scrolled down. I said the same thing. And hey, size 9s are practically petite.

  • 3boysful

I guess the comments about poor construction cover the poochy seams, but how in the name of all that’s holy has no one mentioned that white bar across the back??! It looks like a big ol piece of 1950s bra elastic!

  • kirkyo

It looks cute until you get to the second to last pic where it looks like an ill-fitting mess. I think it coulda been a win if the bust were a bit smaller.

  • Jessica Freeman

    One word, two letters: NO.

  • traced89

Those shoes are hideous. I feel like this could work on Hailee Steinfeld, but it looks too twee on Scarlett.

  • amanda siegelson

looks like something kate from project runway designed. and that’s not a compliment.

  • decormaven

After the stronger looks she’s sported this week, this is very jeune fille. The dress is more suited for early summer; the shoes are apropos of nothing.

  • Terri Terri

That thing going across her back is giving me “wear this bra and instantly improve your posture!”

  • oatmealpie

Well, at least it matches her tattoo.

  • kipper

    Was it raining?

  • http://smalltownbigwardrobe.com/ Catherine

This just screams Elle Fanning. Seriously, Scar, send it her way.

  • Madam Von Sassypants

Well… the color is gorgeous on her.

  • putacorkinit

Poor kid is caked in concealer. And those close-ups seem to show her complexion is not so good. Must be stress. Can’t understand why. She’s just become engaged to one of Paris’ most prominent gay guys.

  • Beardslee

You can tell that autumn is drawing near; time to pull out the summery dresses!

  • GillianHolroyd

Her head looks disturbingly large in these photos. It must be our old friend, Mr Wrong Camera Lens.

  • NoveltyRocker

I’m starting to suspect her stylist’s main objective is to make sure nothing in the outfit matches in any way. I get injecting unexpected colors or accessory styles when it builds to some bigger statement but her outfits always look like they’re styled to back down from anything declarative.

  • filmcricket

Aaaand we’re back to her dressing terribly. I will take the plain black va va voom dresses over this nonsense any day. Keep it simple and flaunt your natural assets seems to be the lesson here.

  • JP

Oh goody, silly putty shoes are coming in more than just simple pump styles. *barf*

  • poggi

T-strap platforms make people’s feet look huge. Not really the proportions most women want.

  • poggi

Hey, i love to bake too, but I would probably take my apron off before I hit the red carpet.

  • sagecreek

Oh, dear. From the Simplicity “Make It Tonight!” Collection!

  • Mismarker

Roland Mouret for Bed, Bath and Beyond.

    • formerlyAnon

      Perfection.

  • formerlyAnon

NOOOOOOO!! This is the modern southern woman – early 20s version – when you borrow the sun dress your “avant garde” sorority sister (who’s now interning at a fashion house) designed and made last weekend.

This is not for a 28 year old internationally known actress who is photographed as part of her professional obligations.

  • JaCory Deon

From the kitchen to the red carpet. Just NO.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1180174329 Elizabeth Phillips

Those shoes make her feet look GINORMOUS!

  • DeanaDolar

    Beautiful color buuuuut…..

  • Suse

    Pillsbury Bake-Off contestant, c. 1959

  • Laurie Landry

The shoes need to be incinerated.

  • tereliz

THAT is Roland Mouret? It’s so… not tight.

  • http://weirdinedgewise.blogspot.com ONEWEIRDWORD

    Whoa, high school sewing project!

  • kimmeister

Uh, she looks cute from the shoulders and up.

  • neonseattle

looks like a very fancy apron

  • Constant Reader

The prettiest hostess in Stepford, wearing shoes that manage to look geriatric despite 4-inch heels.

  • LCTerrill

    GAH, MY EYES!!

  • elemspbee

enh. all around awkward. she looks like she’s compensating for a bad dress and clunky shoes.

  • Ronni H.

That looks really cheap and uncomfortable

  • elzatelzabelz

Girl, that is not your apron. Give it bak to Fraulein Maria.

  • demidaemon

Um, no. Crepe paper dress with a sewn in bra. Ick.

  • http://www.readbarbara.com/ ReadBarbara

Home Ec project — complete with the “I can’t believe I made this myself with a glue gun and the robe thingy from the gyno’s office” look of pride on her pretty face.

  • quiltrx

Looks like a safe entry in a PR ep where they visit a hospital.

  • http://asskickingadviser.com/ Ass Kicking Adviser

That dress looks like her best friend made it in sewing class and asked her to wear it as a favor.

  • gracedarling

She could have pulled it off ten years ago when she was the slightly punky actress from Ghost World and had a Joan Jett hairdo. The ‘classic bombshell’ look her people moulded her into just infantalises the apron though – anything that could read edgy instead just reads juvenile.

    • deech

“She could have pulled it off ten years ago when she was the slightly punky actress from Ghost World and had a Joan Jett hairdo”

      Ditto that!

  • Contralto

    oh. Honey, no.

  • kathrineb

The colour when you also add the satin ribbon is a bit 90s bridesmaid but I am kind of digging it despite this.

  • gurl boy

    GOD that is AWFUL!

  • Imasewsure

Head to toe awful. She should really stop wearing her hair like that pronto

  • VicD

Did she sew that at home herself? It looks like the losing entry in the state 4-H sewing contest.

  • GreenTurtle

Girl, that’s not your dress. Well, it shouldn’t be anyone’s, but I digress. Scarjo’s taste in casual clothes is often questionable, I feel.

  • http://frockpaperscissors.blogspot.com/ kvlm

I think my niece has this dress. She’s 12. And I swear I’ve seen those shoes at Stride Rite.
