Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in Versace at the 2013 GQ Men of the Year Awards

Posted on September 04, 2013

As bitchy fashion bloggers, we have come to love the GQ Men of the Year Awards. Not so much because it’s chock full of men, but because every lady present clearly leaned into her mirror earlier that night, checked herself over, and whispered “Game on, bitches” before spinning on her heels and sashaying out the door.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley attends the 2013 GQ Men of the Year Awards at The Royal Opera House in London in a Versace dress paired with Christian Louboutin pumps.

Versace Fall 2013 Collection/Model: Katya Riabynikina

Ain’t nobody showing up at this shindig in something half-assedly demure. For the ladies, it’s heels, tightness, and skin on the style menu tonight. It’s like the prospect of all that alpha-male testosterone floating through the room turns all the gals competitive. What’s not to love about that?  Rosie’s throwing down the gauntlet and kindly inviting her fellow lady attendees to suck it. She can make a Versace dress look classy even as her body looks insanely slamming while wearing it.

Game on.

This is a WERQ for me. She looks flawless.

      • Nicholas

I don’t know, it just feels like a case of it being 10% due to the styling and 90% due to how she just (somehow) looks.

WERQs are only applicable when the styling is A+, and I think TLo is right not to hand it out this time.

        • Tatiana Luján

Clothes, styling and accesories should showcase what your best features are. The clothes and styling enhance her beauty rather than rely on it. I’ll call it a WERQ.

        • styrch

I think the wording in this write up is even screaming “WERQ!!!” but possibly not handing it out because, well, hey… Victoria’s Secret Model. It’s her job to WERQ.

      • Rhonda Shore

Flawless with a capital EFF. There is nothing about this i would change.

      • ceceliadid

        Rosie Huntington-WERQley.

    • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

Perfect, top to toe. She even manages to look fairly tasteful, while steaming up all those camera lenses.

      • Nicole C

I concur! It’s a good way to show off sexy to all the girls who emulate her. Not that her job is one of a role model, but I’m always shocked at how much more high schoolers know and actively follow the angels (whereas I’m like – “Who? Wait, you thought that outfit on the VS runway was cute?” Bless.)

      • SugarSnap108

She’s does look tasteful. I credit the hemline – perfect counterpoint to the skin-baring top.

    • Jacquelyn

Dayum. She looks very statue-esque. Her hair is really gorgeous here. Good for her!

    • Nicholas

      To quote The Wire:

      “Shiii …”

    • HM3

Hmmm…I would’ve liked to see just ONE accessory to take this from Simple to Superb (a bangle? Cuff?). Most ladystars would’ve hacked several inches off the hem, worn nude pumps, and painfully heavy makeup. Kudos to Rosie for keeping it simple and sexy.

      • http://foodycat.blogspot.co.uk/ foodycatAlicia

        Cocktail ring, I think.

        • http://dontmakeitlikeimdumb.blogspot.com/ annabelle archer

I was thinking a single, delicate, necklace.

          • decormaven

A piece of jewelry would have been the icing on the cake. Something delicate, for sure.

      • par3182

Where’s her best accessory Jason Statham?

        • HVM

          Apparently they’re on a break.

      • filmcricket

Yep, gold cuff would have worked really well here.

      • calimon

Yes, I agree she looks a little naked without some kind of accessory, but then that may just be the effect she’s going for.

      • Imasewsure

I think boobs and ass are the only accessories we will be seeing at this event. At least hers are gorgeous and not spilling over/hanging out

    • AnotherJulie

Every other woman attending this event should just turn around and go home. She is drop dead gorgeous, classy and perfect.

    • formerlyAnon

So much blonde goddess, “sorry it sucks not to be me” here. Oddly, it’s her hair/head that I think is *particularly* impressive.

    • http://twitter.com/aynaborrell Anastasia

This reminds me of Jennifer Lawrence’s simple Calvin Klein number from the Oscars. Simple, tasteful, sexy, and stunning. Three snaps in Z formation, Rosie!

    • SewingSiren

Extremely sexy without being vulgar. And that is no easy task when wearing Versace.

    • http://dontmakeitlikeimdumb.blogspot.com/ annabelle archer

      Shutting it down.
I imagine for those ladies without a ring on it, this night is the ultimate man hunt.

      • http://foodycat.blogspot.co.uk/ foodycatAlicia

Even those that do have a ring might be looking to trade up.

    • majorbedhead

      I can’t believe that’s Versace. It’s so…tasteful.

      • 3boysful

And not much “design” to it. Essentially it appears to be a two-piece slip.

      • Danielle

        YES. My thoughts exactly!

      • Evan

It looks more like Calvin Klein than Versace.

      • demidaemon

Well, I think she or her stylist smartly removed all the tacky, which came mostly from the accessories. Not bad, Rosie and her team. Not bad.

    • Lisa M. (ReVoir) Kramp

Bitch has got it goin’ on! Yay, Rosie!

    • Coleen

If you hadn’t said this was a Versace gown, I would have sworn it was Calvin Klein based on the simplicity of the bodice.

    • Diego!

This is WERQ from head to toe!!!! She looks STUNNING! What a beautiful face she has, she is so gorgeous!

    • Adriana

This is the perfect look for this type of event. It has that effortless appearance…you know how guys say they love a simple girl who doesn’t have to wear makeup to look gorgeous? This is that look. (Even though obviously there’s thousands of dollars and hours of hair and makeup on display.)

    • sagecreek

      Wow. That’s a WERQ!

    • GorgeousThings

Totally WERQing it. But yikes, those shoes make my feet hurt just looking at them.

    • MilaXX

Rosie did Versace a solid one here. That dress look 1.000 times better on her than the model could ever hope for.

      • kimmeister

This is one case where she was wise to not include the belt from the runway!

    • Tamara Hogan

      You WERQ it, Rosie!

    • Nancer

She looks fabulous! I am so glad she didn’t take style tips from the model….

    • nannypoo

I’m comparing her beautiful hair to Olivia Wilde’s spaniel hair. Same hairstyle, very different results. She looks fabulous. She usually does.

    • marlie

Such a simple dress, but she’s killing it.

    • leahpapa

Rosie v. model is the opposite of what we usually see: the “real life” version looks like a pro, and the model looks like the vulgar debacle that results from a nouveau riche oil magnate’s daughter getting her paws on something tight and expensive (which is to say, it looks like Versace).

    • Tess Danesi

She cannot be human. She just can’t. There is too much perfection here for a mortal woman to be capable of. Someone test that bitch’s genes!

      • Kimberlini

Meh, her legs are too skinny.

    • http://kingderella.tumblr.com/ kingderella

i dont know if shes any good as an actress, but i dont think ive ever seen her looking anything less than flawless.

    • crash1212

      WERQ.

    • KayEmWhy

      Sorry this is boring.

    • Danielle

She is not of this earth. Jason Statham would be insane not to wife that.

    • clairellis

Where’s her man candy? Did they break up?

    • bertkeeter

      She WINS!

    • Lilithcat

This looks really dull. It needs to be livened up with a great piece of jewelry or something!

    • Poeta Paz

      I hate her. Ha!

    • Kent Roby

Perfection. But the over-the-shoulder pose looks more ridiculous to me every time I see it.

    • imakeart

Is the dress leather or vinyl, or what?

    • Rand Ortega

      DAYUM.

    • Dagney

      Love.

    • Richard

She needs jewlery or a belt or something. This is too blah on its own.

    • Just Me

Perfect outfit for a late summer cocktail party in the Hamptons, where she is obviously going right after she spins and twirls in front of the ladies who don’t have anywhere better to go. Jason is waiting by the plane.

    • Lucas

Wow, this covers a lot of bases: simple and elegant, simultaneously managing to be tasteful and sexy. Love the snakeskin pumps.

    • housefulofboys

      Stunningly. Beautiful.

    • Trickytrisha

Pretty darned stunning. It would be nice if her whole foot actually could fit into the shoe though. I wonder if there is a Podiatrist To The Stars in attendance at these events.

    • Alloy Jane

She is very beautiful, but when her mouth is open… Look I know that blow job face is par for the course on a photo call, but it is very obnoxious. She just looks so vacuous with it open like that and it makes her look like a real doll and something about that depresses me. I like her better with her mouth closed. She looks like a flesh and blood creature with her mouth closed.

    • Pterodactyl111

And that’s how it’s done. Sexy, simple, chic.

    • Renaissance_Man_ATL

      STUN-ning!

    • NinjaCate

I don’t actually like this at all. Is that weird? It just seems like… not enough somehow.

    • Sunraya

I don’t know that she is so sexy looking. Pretty? Yes. But she doesn’t really have a sexy body, or at least a lot of men I know wouldn’t think so. She has a fashion model body. Catherine Zeta Jones had a sexy body.

      • demidaemon

I think she is pretty sexy….and I’m gay. It’s all about the bam-bam of the hourglass shape, and she has got that going on.
