Are we sure that’s not Katie Cassidy?

      • Aurumgirl

Katie Cassidy looks far too much like her grandfather for me to ever get them confused.

Rose should have worn her hair up with this dress.

    • Karen Belgrad

Skirt needs to be slightly longer and it needs a belt… as it currently is, way too twee

    • Jacquelyn

Not loving the poofy sleeve thing and I think it could use a belt. But her hair looks nice.

    • NBG

I am so over these sleeves. On anyone.

    • MoHub

The tucked-and-bubbled skirt just looks like a sewing error.

      • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

        thank YOU!

        • MoHub

I calls ‘em as I sees ‘em.

      • Deb Oswald

sort of looks like the hem got stuck in her underwear….. unfortunate!

        • MoHub

Or like a few folds of the skirt fabric got caught when it was being seamed to the bodice.

          • Deb Oswald

and that has happened many times! Easy to do, but usually you catch it right away! ;)

      • conniemd

Every time I see one of those kind of skirts I think the seamstress forgot to iron the hem. My mother taught me the final step was to hem the clothes and then press the hem nice and flat and even. It is simply burned in my brain.

    • http://thishotoldbroad.blogspot.com/ Sara Leigh Merrey

Not liking much of anything here. Too much poof.

    • Rhonda Shore

      Meh.

      • JP

That was my exact utterance when I saw this!

      • Fanny_Trollope

The color is pretty. But the shape is no.

    • PastryGoddess

Her head game is fabulous as always, but from the neck down there is a problem

    • sagecreek

Oh, that is the sad, wistful face of a woman who’s just realized how ugly her dress is.

      • http://foodycat.blogspot.co.uk/ foodycatAlicia

I thought it was the sad, wistful face of a woman who’s realised she’s wasted good makeup time promoting a terrible movie. The ugly dress just adds to the pathos.

Elastic, it’s not just for waist bands.

So, you now how Ms. Byrne is the queen of the soup puss? I saw her on Hollywood Game Night, she’s funny! And loose and personable. I was more than a little shocked.

      • Airkisses

You know how some people have Resting Bitchface? People think they’re angry but in reality that’s just how their face muscles relax? I think Rose Byrne has Resting Sadface. She always looks like she’s about to cry, in every single picture I’ve ever seen of her. But boy, does she do sadface well.

        • MaggieMae

          Me! I have Resting Bitchface!

          “Smile! What’s wrong?!”

“Why’d you give me that dirty look?”

      • ankali

She has said that the RC makes her nervous, which is why she looks so depressed at premieres/other RC events. She’s always been quite charming and sweet in her interviews.

    • lexilexi

      I really dislike her hair.

    • Stella Zawistowski

So heavy and stapled-together looking. Bleh.

    • Mazenderan

      That’s horrendous.

    • Coleen

I really hate this dress, but I’m so pleased that she wore color. I’m afraid to say anything for fear that she’ll be spooked and retreat back into Beigeville.

    • Jessica Freeman

I can’t even find anything nice to say about the pattern. It’s high up on the worst offender list.

    • Amy909

she always has sad eyes, and looks about one second from crying. Needs to meet up with Tyra and learn how to smize!

      • decormaven

There’s always the hint of tragedy or sadness in her eyes when she is on the RC.

    • elemspbee

Rose, Christina Ricci is wearing your dress at the NY Fashion week.

    • marlie

It’s cute, but I still can’t wait for babydoll-ish dresses on grown women (the high-waist) to stop being a thing.

      • alyce1213

It should never have been a thing: high-waists, poofy, too-short skirts — designers infantilizing grown women and women who wear it.

      • Constant Reader

The dress would be adorable on a tween or young teen starlet.

    • Imasewsure

I hate those kind of sleeves and I hate twee in general but somehow she still looks good to me. Helps to be beautiful I guess

    • Krysta

What? No. There’s nothing good about this dress.

    • MilaXX

Too much going on. The sleeves are fighting the bubble hem.

    • LaSylphide

Love Rose, but this one just doesn’t work for her. Skirt is too short, bubble hem just looks unpressed and odd, sleeves a distraction, and the color doesn’t do much for her. Not sure about the hair: is it lighter? Overall, not awful, but not very good.

    • Hoffa_w_HerHead

I agree that this dress is kind of fug… so why do I oddly like this look?!

    • Danielle

      It’s screaming for a belt.

    • E. D.

I don’t get this dress. At all.

    • ballerinawithagun

I love the colors and the design of the fabric. When I saw the thumbnail I thought it was going to be a beautiful sweater, would have been much better!

    • ballerinawithagun

      First attempt at origami?

    • Diego!

At least in two pictures she is smiling!!! The dress looks great on her, but I hate those puffy sleeves.

    • formerlyAnon

I’ve never seen a dress without a scoop neck or lace up front more effectively suggest “wench.”

    • Monabel

Those sleeves are worth transplanting onto a plainer dress.

    • Filmjen

      What is it?!

    • Darva Sutra

I actually kind of love it – the fabric and silhouette are giving me an early 60’s throwback vibe, and it looks great on her!

    • http://twitter.com/aynaborrell Anastasia

Gurl, it’s time to learn a thing or two from the stylist for Bridesmaids. Head on over to J.Crew, go buy a smile, and you’ll transform into Allison Williams’ older sister. Right now, you just look old. And sad.

    • TigerLaverada

That dress looks like a home ec project gone wrong to me, like whoever put it together couldn’t sew very well. She’s lovely, but the dress is a mess.

      • Lilak

And it’s like she’s in junior high again … Gets out of the house with an acceptable hem, then pins it up before she gets to the party.

    • Shawn EH

I love the pattern and colors, but not all of Lanvin’s volumes make sense to me.

    • http://asskickingadviser.com/ Ass Kicking Adviser

I love her new hair. She looks good.

    • Trickytrisha

Aside from poofy skirt and sleeves, which are interesting but odd, the construction on the bodice is wonky. Where it meets the sleeve on her left side is puckery, as are the darts. The dress just doesn’t work on her, in spite of lovely fabric and a lovely young woman wearing it.

I’d love to hear TLo’s take on this one.

    • demidaemon

What is with all these floofy sleeves lately? I do not approve.

    • bertkeeter

      True LANVIN fit…. Terrible!

    • H2olovngrl

Isn’t she better than this movie?

    • Amanda Schulz

How do I find out who did her wardrobe for the film I’m obsessed with the cardigans she wore in it??

    • kathrineb

Not feeling it and the brown makeup does not help the dress either.
