Reem Acra Spring 2014 Collection
Tease your hair, strap on your favorite gold something and your dancing heels and hit the dance floor, darlings. Nip slips are not required, but they make a lovely accessory. Yes, it’s 1975 on the runway and Reem Acra has decided to head to the disco. Not the sanitized white-suited, American Bandstand, Saturday Night Fever version of it, though. This is the real, sexy/dirty/glam deal. Oh sure, there’s a little bit of uptown respectability throughout, but the rest of it’s pure downtown underground discotheque. Latin drag queens and Afro-divas inventing the Hustle and the Bump for the masses while a couple socialites crash the party looking for the best blow in town – filtered through a modern runway, of course. It’s fun. And a nice alternative to the Studio 54 version of disco which fashion people tend to default to most often. We’re dying to see quite a bit of this on the red carpet.
