Well, I sort of like the silver Carmen Marc Valvo shoes…but also kind of with a Halloween costume in mind. So, eh. Not so very in love with any of these.

  • Sarah

I only dig the Anna Suis. But, I like her designs, too, so that makes sense.

    • Coleen

Samesies. I was just thinking those and the Carolina espadrilles are the only ones that I liked AND could wear.

  • RussellH88

    The Altuzarra look ridiculously uncomfortable.

    • Sara Brams-Miller

Those were my favorite of the bunch….

      • marlie

        I loved those too.

    • kimmeister

That was the only set where I felt I could wear all 4.

  • hughman

A lot of these shoes are awfully aggressive. Grrrrrrr with heels.

  • alyce1213

Christian Siriano Peplum Shoes, for when you don’t have time to attend to your calloused heels.

    • Imasewsure

That is hilarious. The ugly peplum shoe was the worst but I’m enjoying it now because of your description! We hope not to see the likes of it again though!!

    • Beardslee

Check out the shoes by United Nude if you like crazy shoes. Some of their shoes are bizarre, though the Fold shoe, mid heel, is very comfortable and I wear my pair all the time.

      • alyce1213

Yes! I know United Nude and I LOVE them! A couple of years ago, I bought a pair of Mobius (not too crazy), and at a sample sale last Fall I picked up a pair of Fold (flats) and a couple of pairs of ballet flats (REALLY cheap, like $25).

    • Cheryl

Ah yes, I referred to it as a skirt, but peplum is a much better descriptor and now that you have pointed out the practical aspect of that nasty thing, I’m not hating quite so much.

    • RedRaven617

But I did love his beaded shoe.

    • barbarienne

I thought of it as a bustle. I don’t know…I would never wear the shoe, but it made me laugh, and not in a bad, laughing-at-it way. I thought it was amusing.

      • alyce1213

You’re right, it really is more like a bustle. (But I don’t like.)

  • kaycem

carolina herrera’s beads and stripes are amazing, and i love christian’s colors and shape. other than that, i’m not super excited about much here.

  • rage_on_the_page

Alexander Wang with the Pee-Wee shoes! Love it.

  • formerlyAnon

A lot more one could describe as witty than pretty, this season.

  • MilaXX

Those poor models. Some of them have their simply shoved into those shoes. I guess I should be happy that the bear trap shoes are a thing of the past for now.

    • decormaven

Truly. For the love of Mike, designers, when your shoes are being photographed, please see that the shoes fit properly, and the models all have proper pedis and no visible foot problems.

      • MilaXX

I’m thinking if they don’t care that celebs are photographed with them not fitting properly as long as the model remains upright, no one cares.

        • decormaven

Yes, that level of uncaring kills the shoe lust for me. That, and the outrageous pricing.

  • buttercup

So so so glad I’m not a woman (or their feet). A lot of these look painful to wear.

  • MoHub

Love that there are flats for my non-heel-wearing feets. If only I had the bucks!

  • Imasewsure

Some of these are fine but no better… So many of these are awful though… worst is the tan skirt shoe and all of the cut out booties. Yuck!

  • crash1212

Christian Siriano’s striped pumps are everything. Altuzarra hates women and their feets.

  • jspark

Those Carolina Herrera look like murder for your pinky toe.

  • Inspector_Gidget

Alice + Olivia (lower right)… for the discerning astronaut.

  • kimmeister

I do like a lot of individual pairs, but few entire collections. A lot of ankle straps again . . . would have to be worn with pants for us cankled gals.

  • Rhonda Shore

Love those Philip Lim shoes! I could actually wear the black and white pairs!

  • kimmeister

Did anyone else first see “NYFW” as “NSFW” and wonder how could accessories/shoes be scandalous?

  • Garcia Loca

Black-tipped French pedi was ill-advised. Looks like some barefoot gardening aficionado who didn’t wash before hitting the catwalk.

  • Miss WKS

One of the best parts of the recent fashion weeks shows were the plethora of flat, chunky, feminine sandals and shoes. These sky-high heels are just so.

  • lilazander

Tons of ugly shit these days to put on our feeties… I’d opt for DKNY wedges, Dennis Basso, Carmen Marc Valvo, and BCBG Max Azria, and a couple of others (perhaps).

  • Tanya Wade

Looks like toe grip isn’t going away anytime soon fellas. I see lots of pinkies running for the border. I do love the Anna Sui butterfly sandals, though.

  • Judy_S

I wanna see the Mary Katrantzou shoes…

  • KayEmWhy

    Alice+Olivia espadrille WTF!!!!!!

  • Cheryl

I really don’t like those Christian Siriano shoes, with the rattan skirt attached.

    • Donna Tabor

      It’s a cape! Super FEET!!

  • i hate all those big clunky pseudo-nurse shoes.

  • ballerinawithagun

I loved the Carolina Herrera until I saw the little toes escaping. I just hate that and it is so uncomfortable! What is wrong with these shoes designers and the shoemakers?

So I have to go for the Dennis Basso for my lady like shoes.

    The Altuzarra look painful!!!

  • shawna

Ugh. I truly hate every single one lol.

  • rainwood1

If I look at all these shoes as merely little pieces of art and not something that would ever come within even the general vicinity of my feet, I can enjoy them. Otherwise, ouch!!

  • Louise Bryan

    God bless Carolina Herrera.

  • barbarienne

Okay, I’ll admit, Siriano’s shoe with the little heel bustle made me laugh out loud, in a good way. I can’t see wearing it, but it has a sense of humor.

  • oohsparkley!

Most of these have ankle straps or are cut high on the foot. All the better to cankle you! Fun to look at, but with a few exceptions, I’m not dying to buy any – even if the price was right.

  • Slade Thunderdragon

The only ones that look like they won’t be considered unstylish in a few years are Dennis Basso’s to me. The rest look very of-the-moment.

  • teensmom99

I love 90% of these shoes–and kind of like the other 10% of wackadoo styles.

  • Trickytrisha

This is really cool, getting to see the shoes separately. Lots of clunky going on… white nurse sneaker booties, DKNY?
I guess I like Anna Sui’s sandals best.

  • PastryGoddess

Loved Dennis Basso and Biphu Mophatra

    • marlie

Two of my favorite collections as well. Now I need to start pinching my pennies…

      • PastryGoddess

I’m just going to win the lottery

  • quiltrx

I like the black/white paisley DKNYs. Wish the heel was a little lower though.
And I kind of like the Alice + Olivia laser-cut sandals. They’re pretty fun.
And WTF Alexander Wang? The “poor wandering pinky” is bad enough…but DAMN if you can’t even keep your BIG toe in your shoe!!

  • Alloy Jane

That’s a whole lotta ugly shoe for one post. I semi like the BDSM sandal and PPS’s rainbow barnacled pump.

  • DuBey2

Love All the BCBG & Dennis Basso, most of the DVF, and Derek Lam, and the yellow 3.1 Phillip Lim.
OH, and 3/4 of the Christian S. (y’all know which pair that leaves out, don’t you?)

  • I like the Max Azria’s, but some of these shoes
make the models’ feet look deformed.

  • Designers are trying to hard to come up with something different. High heels hurt my back, so I was out of the race long ago. I think many of today’s shoes are ugly (to say where I’m coming from). I love the flat sandals in this group, especially the green ones.

  • spooki C

I hate everything. As a shoe whore this makes me weep. Everything is so clunky and fidgety.

  • marlie

I generally go for the pointy-toed stilettos, personally, so it’s no surprise that the Christian Siriano collection is my favorite. I also love the Dennis Basso and the Bibhu Mohapatra collections.

  • Well, clunky and heavy is clearly not going anywhere. I welcome the addition of some shoes that real humans can walk in. The only ones I covet are the Anna Sui, especially the butterfly flats.

    • Suse

The butterfly flats are my fave, too!

  • frannyprof

Love the Anna Sui, CK, and DVF sandals.

  • guest2visits

Sooo much I don’t like. And I usually like most shoes. Just a couple pair, here and there; like the tiny houndstooth Badgley Mischka.

  • kolokOlchik

Oh gosh, poor poor pinkie toes in the Carolina Herreras!
And TLo, you picked the prettiest shoe for the thumbnail
