Booties with open toes must stop.
I like the Rodartes and VIvienne Tams.

    • kimmeister

The white and coral pair of Vivienne Tams are awesome.

      • Aaminah Khan

I’m gonna need to sell a kidney or something, because I need those in my life.

    • RoseJB

I agree that open-toe booties are impractical, but they can look pretty frickin’ fierce. I’ve been tempted but there is no season in Canada when they make sense.

      • DuBey2

Florida, however, is the perfect place. I love the open toed booty because I can wear heels much more comfortably if my toes don’t get squished. Also, I just like how they look. Obviously, women are buying them and the designers keep coming up with new iterations.

    • Aaminah Khan

THANK YOU. They’re booties. If you’re wearing them, it’s presumably boot weather. WHY WOULD YOU WANT OPEN TOES WITH YOUR BOOTIES, JUST ASLKDFJASLDKFJALSKJDFALKSJDFLK

      • conniemd

I said that above. I don’t get booties with open toes, or booties as spring wear. I love booties. I really like th Rodartes, they just are not spring wear. Once the weather gets out of winter, I can’t wait to put the booties away and wear shoes that let me feet breathe, because emotionally my feet feel sweaty and stinky after being confined for so many months.

  • save_the_hobbit

I’m loving the whole “flatform” thing because it means my klutzy ass can finally wear wedges/heels without breaking my ankles.

    • marlie

The platform flats? I hate those with the burning hot fire of a thousand suns.

But at least I know I won’t have to fight you for the Sally laPointe shoes. 😉

    • LipstickForPigs

Platform flats look like loaves of bread strapped to the feets.

    • I wouldn’t be so sure – I live in wedges, and in my flatforms I have much less “touch” with the ground. I seem to spend a lot of time being picked off the pavement and icing my knees when I wear them.

  • hughman

Kinda digging the Rodartes. Joe Jackson/Look Sharp FTW.

  • homofascist

Seriously, someone needs to shoot Tory Burch with a tranquilizer dart and take her back into the Hobby Lobby or Island of Misfit Fleurchons or wherever the hell she came from…

The Rodartes and the Vivienne Tams are kind of amazing.

  • kimmeister

I actually like a couple of the Thom Brownes, although I would never wear them as pictured, of course.

    • NoveltyRocker

I like a couple too, it’s the styling that makes me think I don’t on first glance.

    • DuBey2

I really want the blue white spectator bootie. And if I looked like the models, I might even try to wear them as shown. Either way, they are a unique look in a sea of S/M that has recently dominated shoe design.

  • MilaXX

I like the first 2 Rodarte shoes, LaPointes, Posens (despite the models misshapen feet) & the Zero+ Maria Cornejo

    • marlie

Maybe we can pool our funds and go shoe shopping. 🙂 The LaPointes and the Posens are beautiful.

    • SewingSiren

I’ve always liked Maria Cornejo since way back in the 80’s when she worked with John Richmond on the Richmond/Cornejo label.

  • SophiaPehawkins

The Rodartes are sick. I’m a fan a small heel. And the prints on them are divine. I should invest in getting a pair; they’re so lovely.

  • jessica

those last photos are not shoes, they are ace bandages with heels – bad idea if you’re needing ace bandages on your ankles.

    • Targettaste

It must be hard to come up with new designs after years of shoe styles, but it seem like many of the new shoes look orthopedic! I don’t want to look like I have an injured foot, especially if it cost me $$$$ for the look.

  • Call me Bee

Oh my achin’ feet. Even though a person can’t wear 95% of these shoes–they are all pretty. Most don’t look very Spring-y, though. But I do love Thom Browne’s take on the penny loafer. though I’d never wear them with socks. And Vera Wang’s open-toed hoof shoes need to go.

  • Jacquelyn

There are some okay ones here, but mostly I’m gonna go stare at the Oscar de la Renta collection from part 3 and WILL those babies into my closet.

  • terpsichory

Actually, I can’t wait for the bandage heels trend to find its way into stores. Hate all you want, these shoes will be so bloody COMFY! And in black they don’t even read as sports injury-ish.

  • Blair Sylvester

I am surprised to like the Rodarte shoes (because their clothing was pure sweet 80s hooker crack) but the shoes are my favorite out of the bunch

  • YourBaloneyDontGotNoSecondName

RE: Yigal Azrouël. Oh God, sheer shoes now?

    • sagecreek

Miley is ordering a pair as we speak 🙂

  • Look, ma! Real people shoes!

  • Pennymac

I like most of these, with the exception of the Tori Burch MeMaw in Ft. Lauderdale Collection.

  • let us all be aware that these are live runway shots, which explains why some models have battered looking feet. and when we examine the fit and style of many here, we can see why they are battered. those beige vicki beckhams are too orthopedic, though. post-surgery sandals.

  • mhleta

Loving the lower heeled Rodarte boots, something women can actually wear and feel good about as we’re trekking through the city.

  • VioletFem

I covet the Thom Browne oxfords.

  • Aidan B

Is it bad that I find most of these unfathomably ugly?

  • Why can’t shoes just be made WIDER???!?!?! Even skinny models’ skinny feet are being crushed. Akjiuyaejfbzkduf!!!!!! (says the lady with wide feet)

Those Victoria Beckham ones that look like an Ace bandage wrap? No.

$3 or so at CVS will get me the same look.

  • Trickytrisha

Love Thom Browne. Like Vivienne Tam, Rodarte. Sorta like Zac Posen, Vera Wang, Zero + Maria, Thakoon. Dislike Tory Burch, Zimmerman, Lapointe. Loathe Yigal Azrouel, Victoria Beckham.

  • Miranda

My God…some of these models (most of them) have the ugliest feet I’ve ever seen…UGH

  • 2014 isn’t shaping up to be my season for shoes.

  • quiltrx

I really like the Rodartes, actually (surprising myself by saying that).
And I understand that models’ feet are to’ up from having to wear horrible shoes on runways, etc. But I think I see a DIRTY toenail up there. And that’s just gross.

  • Zimmerman and Vivienne Tam for the win!

  • SewingSiren

Give me Thom Browne high heeled nurse shoes. With socks.

  • Jacob Bowen

The bottom left shoe in the “Zero + Maria Cornejo” show is HIDEOUS. It’s like someone took my mom’s waterproof rubber gardening shoes and gave them a cinder block heel. TRAGIC.

  • Trevor Scott

Open toed boots/booties always makes me think of very near misses in terrible industrial accidents. “fortunately the falling equipment only caught the front of her shoe and not the rest of her foot”

  • Why do the Zac Posen models look so orange? Distracting.

  • crash1212

I like Zac Posen’s shoes better than his clothes.

  • ItsDicey

The Vivienne Tams make me happy.

  • Kathy_Marlow

Sally La Pointe & Zac Posen lines could come and live at my house.

  • Jessica Freeman

I am weeping at all the ugly.

  • Michelle Wilson

Those Yigal Azrouël shoes look more like torture devices. Nothing about them is supporting the feet of the models wearing them.

  • spooki C

I hate peep toe booties. Not just impractical, but ugly too.

  • Vicki Macdevitt

Nice to see such a variety in non Cinderella sizes… as a “10” I am grateful!

  • bertkeeter

If your legs don’t look chunky now…they will this Spring wearing all these designs with ankle straps!

  • Garcia Loca

Why are they all so fugly (except Rodarte, which manage to be interesting without the fug)?

  • conniemd

When did booties become spring footwear? They are my winter footwear of choice except on days when the snow is high enough to require actual boots.

  • R. L.

Those Beckham shoes look like ace bandages wrapped around feet. Not a pretty or sharp look IMO.

  • Erica_Vuitton

I hate open toe boots with a passion. No purpose other than to air out your stank boot foot. Gross! Lots of ace bandage shoes too. I see those lasting through a few wears until the elastic stretches out.

  • joything

I am a slut for short boots, so all the Rodarte and that one Yigal Azrouel are MINE.

  • understateddiva

    Beckham FTW

  • DuBey2

I surprised myself by loving the Vera Wangs and Zac Posen’s. Though his look like they’d break after 2 wearings — so delicate.

  • tereliz

Thom Browne’s two color spectators are adorable! Those Beckham mules should be burned with fire.

  • Therese Bohn

Open toes booties are fine if you like sloshing snow and mud puddles between your toes!

Those decapitated Victoria Beckham shoes (upper right and lower left) are a twisted ankle waiting to happen! How does one even walk in those? You’d think the heel would slip right out and bang- broken ankle! They make a foot look even more like a hoof than the shoes Lady Gaga wears!

The Vera Wang ones with the ankle cleavage invite being kicked!

Ankles are vulnerable kids! Protect them!
