Naomie Harris in Peter Pilotto at Harpers Bazaar London Fashion Week Closing Party

Posted on September 18, 2013

The girl can definitely switch up her looks, that’s for sure.

Naomie Harris attends the Harpers Bazaar London Fashion Week Closing Party at Annabels in London in a Peter Pilotto dress paired with an Edie Parker clutch and Christian Louboutin pumps.

Peter Pilotto Resort 2014 Collection

She still reminds us quite a bit of Gwyneth Paltrow in terms of her personal style at the moment, but thankfully, she seems to have not fallen into Gwyneth’s trap of wearing somewhat boring clothes. This is fun, cute, and very eye-catching. Loving the shoes on their own, but really loving the person who came up with the idea to pair them with this dress. Perfection.

Not entirely convinced on the makeup, though. It looks a little off to us, but that could just be the result of flash photography outside at night.

Gosh, she looks a lot like Gabrielle Union.

    • barbarienne

They’re both very beautiful, aren’t they?

      • Danielle

        Totally! Stunning women!

  • Coleen

If she’d switched the print of the second with the style of the first, then I would love it unreservedly. For now, it’s an 8.75/10, and plus she really doesn’t care about my opinion, so there it is.

Its a great look, top to bottom. And though I’m not usually a Pilotto fan, this is a great use of digital printing. Brava.

    • demidaemon

yes, this is perhaps one of the few Pilotto’s I’ve liked, and I am unreservedly a Pilotto despiser. It’s also just a good H2T look.

  • kimmeister

Even though her hair is still pin straight, I like it looser like it is here, compared to the last post she was in. This is a rare, non-hideous Peter Pilotto dress and she is rocking it.

  • Sarah

I like it better as a tube dress. The big white straps are detracting from her pretty face.

i go back and forth. I feel like her way has it looking a little athletic.

      • Sarah

I was looking at it more and I think the straps on the second colorway are less bothersome because they aren’t stark white, so maybe that’s what’s bothering me. But when I put my thumb over the whole yoke and think of her skin there instead, I still like it better.

  • flamingoNW

    Adorable

  • barbarienne

I had a moment of “Those shoes are bland” and then was like, “But they need to be muted, for the bright dress” and then I saw the red heels and was all, “GENIUS.” Cool gray to go with but not match the cool blues in the dress.

Still sick of the clear clutch with bag inside, though. It’s like a really good song that’s been overplayed and now I’m tired of it.

  • Jacquelyn

    Super cute dress.

  • Erica_Vuitton

I normally don’t like Peter Pilotto’s clothes (too much pattern mixing for my fashion skill level) but I love everything about this dress! Gotta say, if I was a stylist I would INSIST on properly fitting shoes for my clients. I can’t imagine how difficult it must be for an actress to walk around in front of all these cameras in shoes you may walk right out of at any second.

  • alyce1213

Great dress for her, highlighting her gorgeous shoulders. It’s flare and sassy without being juvenile.

  • Shawn EH

She tried to pick up the gray in the clothing with her eyeshadow, maybe not a very flattering choice.

  • Clueless_Jock

    Perfect 10.

  • marlie

She looks cute, but I wish the shoes weren’t two sizes too big.

  • kirkyo

    Applause worthy indeed.

  • LaSylphide

First time I’ve ever seem a Peter Pilotto dress that I actually liked and that didn’t overwhelm the wearer. Perfection (although I do which she would do something with the stringy hair).

  • MilaXX

I like this. My only quibble is the never ending one against putting actresses in shoes a size too big

    • GillianHolroyd

Since my feet are big anyway, I’d hate to be wearing an even larger size. I always wonder why they don’t just stuff the toes.

Also, since these are loaners, I assume there is some kind of padded insole that is helping to keep her (bare!) foot in place.

      • MilaXX

As someone who tried stuffed toes in my youth in the attempt to fit my older sister’s shoes, I can say they are probably more uncomfortable. I’m assuming a the insoles are doing most of the heavy lifting.

    • mjude

i dont care for the shoes at all. shoes to big work my last nerve.

  • cmb123

Love. Love, Love Love. This is a fantastic look for her. I need the shoes immediately

  • http://www.twitter.com/anneofnogables AnneNotHathaway

This dress reminds me of bedding from Anthropologie.

That being said–I unreservedly love it. And could never afford it. Much like Anthropologie.

  • Tanya Wade

She is so purty. Love the look, shoes a little big, but still. Girl crush.

  • Beth513

Want it all! That dress! Those shoes! Dying.

  • Imasewsure

She’s making me like Peter Pilatto a lot more than I thought I could. She looks great

  • LJCdoc

Cute! I have no idea why I get so twitchy over too-large shoes, but I do. Otherwise, she looks perfect.

  • decormaven

Gosh, she’s hitting it out of the park lately. The shoes are a skoosh too big, but it all looks lovely. Snaps.

  • JauntyJohn

    super duper pretty.

  • clevRcat

Love the dress. Also love the shoes, but they look too darned big. A lot of stars walk red carpets wearing shoes that gap behind the heel. Is it so difficult to find shoes that fit properly? Or is that how super-expensive shoes (the kind I do not buy) are supposed to fit?

    • Ronni H.

Maybe the way they’re made they’re too uncomfortable if they fit properly? They do look too big, but maybe she wants a gap so the material doesn’t stab her? I don’t know. It looks weird to me too.

  • PastryGoddess

Miss Lady award of the day for sure

  • Lisa M. (ReVoir) Kramp

Oh my gosh, a Pilotto dress that doesn’t make me cringe. Helps that it’s on such a beautiful, talented actress.

    • conniemd

My first thought, was my gosh, this Pilotto dress is actually cute and not tortured.

  • Synnae

I would have loved for the person who paired the shoes with the dress to have found her a pair in her size…

    • Miranda

      me too.

      • CKMia

        Me three.

  • crash1212

I really hate those clutch-within-a-clutch clutches. Oh…cute dress.

  • Sara Brams-Miller

    Love this dress.

  • Trickytrisha

At least she found an un-zany Pilotto dress. She’s adorbs. I like the shoes, mostly.

  • SugarSnap108

I prefer the versions the models are wearing — either this print strapless, or the other print with this neckline. That said, she looks pretty fabulous.

  • http://twitter.com/#!/Space_Kitty Space Kitty

    Fantastic dress.

  • Daxx2513

Since last Thursday, I’ve been cursed with seeing dresses (like this one) and thinking “Modern Southern Woman”.

  • jilly_d

I don’t usually love PP, but this is terrific. And I will cut her for those shoes.

  • Scoop

    I agree, Uncles, perfection!

  • jif

Love her, love the dress, hope she gets more work, which should have happened after 28 Days Later.

  • melanie0866

CUTE DRESS. Love the shoes, too.
