I don’t understand the back of the dress, but my oh my! She’s beautiful.

    • Latin Buddy

Have to admit, it’s cray but she’s pulling it off.

    • Emily Smith

She looks like…some sort of black cookie sitting inside one of those ruffly paper sweet wrappers. Can not unsee.

      • AnneElliot

In a box of chocolates!!! LOL!!

        • demidaemon

          Reeses Peanut Butter Cup wrapper.

    • marlie

I like this a LOT! I usually don’t like her hair or makeup (I never think it’s flattering), but this is a perfect combo of right hair, right makeup, right dress, and even right shoes. Yes, the dress is ruffle-y, but it works!

      • MRC210

I know — how does that work? That dress has peplums like saddlebags on a mule, twice as wide as her body, and yet she and it both look adorable.

    • LongTall_Sally

This might be the best I’ve seen her look on the red carpet. Also, that ruffle is distracting and just plain weird. Both of these things are true.

    • Garcia Loca

It’s such a perfect little look for her!

    • mmebam

God help whoever is sitting on either side of her.

      • mshesterp

I’m guessing when she sits it folds into her like she’s a delightful piece of chocolate.

Scroll down “Oh!”. I should have known there was a reason a strapless black dress was being featured. At first glance, I instinctively hated it. But, I came around to at least being pleasantly intrigued. Overall, it ends up working.

      • demidaemon

I’m still at the instinctively hated part. I don’t think it’s going to change.

      • mshesterp

Same here: “pleasantly intrigued.” Go figure, especially with Malin, who kind of dresses terribly all the time.

    • alyce1213

As peplum and ruffle dresses go, this one’s really special. Love the pleating. Very appropriate for the Creative Arts Emmys.

    • nannypoo

It’s cute. I like it. I hate her hair.

    • http://www.lippsisters.com/ Deborah Lipp

      I shouldn’t like. But I LOVE.

    • TAGinMO

      Chocolate-wrapper chic.

This is not an insult. It’s a cool and dramatic look.

    • Clueless_Jock

I googled Victor Costa and got images of a bodybuilder.

    • Jacquelyn

I don’t think I hate it, but I’m not sure why.

    • Sarah

She’s pretty, and making that dress work impressively, but her hair is making her a pinhead and while I support an updo for this look, I think it could’ve been less severe.

    • aahlife

It all works. She looks different than the pack and wonderful. Fresh beauty with gorgeous blue eyes.

    • Rand Ortega

So architectural. The styling is superb– let the dress do all of the talking. I give it a WERQ w/ conditions. A little (diamond) arm candy would’ve sent this into the stratosphere.

    • crash1212

I hate her hair with all my heart and soul – up-do was the way to go, but this is way too severe for her features. I don’t hate the dress, but do wish it was about two inches shorter.

    • DTLAFamilies

If you isolate her head in a photo her hair is too severe but if you look at her from head to toe, it works. Anything else would fight the dress.

    • jilly_d

It’s a bit much for a day time event, but she still looks pretty slammin’.

    • Imasewsure

She’s gorgeous but… don’t like the dress, don’t like the hair, don’t like the makeup… .the shoes are ok

    • MilaXX

Her hair is way too thin for that style. It’s not flattering at all.

    • elemspbee

that is a bat shit dress.

    • kimmeister

The dress looks like it comes from a collection inspired by sting rays. It’s certainly bold and statement-making, but the volume of the ruffles is just a bit too much.

    • Tracy_Flick

I can’t even look at the dress. That eye makeup makes it look like she’s being animated by some kind of sinister being.

      • gsk241

What has been seen cannot be unseen.

    • jen

      Well, her head looks great!

    • LaSylphide

I don’t know who she is, but she looks very wholesome/girl-next-door-ish; I don’t think this is the dress for her, which may be why it looks so awful. It might work on a more sophisticated, look-at-me-and-weep-bitches type. And then, maybe it wouldn’t.

    • broke&fashionable

I love that she looks like she is having a blast in this insane dress – confidence is always beautiful to me :)

    • Inspector_Gidget

At first I thought she was pulling a Kelly Osbourne style pink dye job, but then I realized the umbrellas were causing that effect. That’s some serious light!

Anyway, she looks good. So nice to see someone enjoying themselves amid all the sourpusses.

    • sagecreek

I don’t love the skirt, but wow, she’s glowing, so who cares? So refreshing!

    • Tanya Wade

She should be wearing Khrystle perfume with that dress….

      • decormaven

Exactly! Didn’t Princess Di wear one of these designs? It’s ringing a bell.

    • GillianHolroyd

The sum is greater than the parts; she is buffed to perfection.

    • Trickytrisha

All I could see on first look was forehead. Then I saw the dress. My step-sis wore a very similar black Victor Costa to her prom, way back in the 80s. Same awkward length and frou frou just placed differently. Eyebrows to chin, though, she looks nice.

    • Lisa M. (ReVoir) Kramp

Best RC look she has sported in a long time.

    • macwell

Its a whole lotta dress, but at the same time – she Linda pullng it off….?

    • demidaemon

That’s one ruffly ass. So bad.

    • Trisha26

Very, very pretty. If you have to do a peplum go all out!

    • quiltrx

I kind of like this–it’s a little koo-koo, and fun. I would have wanted eye-searing hot pink shoes, though.

    • ankali

Girl is Krueger-ing it all up in here, and it’s working for her. I really like the dress (thought I suspect I wouldn’t as much if I didn’t know it was vintage), and that is a brilliant choice of shoes.

    • RussellH88

She gets eternal “The Comeback” love for me, so I can’t criticize her, even though the dress is a little crazy.

    • Monabel

“Dress, where are you going with that girl?”

    • livesarah

She looks like some kind of exotic insect. That’s not actually a bad thing, it’s pretty fabulous!

    • http://frockpaperscissors.blogspot.com/ kvlm

Love. Love. Love. Love. And love some more.
