Lindsay Lohan in New York City

Posted on September 09, 2013

Lindsay, honey, we’ll start off by admitting we hate what you’re wearing for the most part. The skinny pants and those weird half-booties? Not working for us.

Lindsay Lohan seen leaving her hotel for a day of filming in New York City.

But herein endeth our critique because we’re much more interested in offering you positive reinforcement and encouragement, dear. You look healthy and, for the most part, calm. Attagirl. Keep it up. You have more people rooting for you than you realize (or probably deserve).

Also: your parents are two of the absolute worst people on the planet and you’d do well to cut off all ties permanently. We’re just saying.

Frankly, she’s lasted longer than Vegas odds projected. I like that she’s keeping the red hair. Her hair color is her visible barometer for levels crackery. I do wish her the best, being born into a pack of fame hungry hyenas is a tough start to fully overcome.
ETA- Everything from the waist down is a horror show. Just say no to booties.

      • Erica_Vuitton

I too look to her hair color to determine her health level, glad I’m not the only one.

      • Danielle

Brb, adding “barometer for levels crackery” to my everyday lexicon.

      • Jessica Freeman

“Just say no to booties” should be a new campaign.

She looks healthy. I’m thinking . . . with her hair pulled back giving the illusion of shorter hair, she’s look great with a haircut. Fresh start and all. Her hair needs one too.

    • Jacquelyn

I don’t mind booties when they’re paired with shorts or a skirt (ie: what Elizabeth Moss did a few days ago) but those pants are hideous. The top half of her is plain but, like T Lo said, at least she looks healthy and like she’s back on track. I really hope she keeps her red hair.

      GET A BRA

    • Lisa M. (ReVoir) Kramp

If she were my daughter I’d be so proud of her right now. She’s making all the right choices and she looks fantastic. Parents who make child-rearing all about them instead of the child? I’d like to take them out back and set them on fire.

    • Cheryl

This is the first time in a long time, I’ve seen her looking like her actual age, so good for her, she’s obviously doing something right. I remember her Marilyn shoot, where she was a decade younger than Marilyn when she did the shoot, but actually looked a decade older. I actually like the pants and the boots, so you can shoot me now.

How do you tell a starlet- “god, you have put on weight!” and mean in the absolutely nicest most wonderfullest absolutelyest nicest way you could mean it?? Look at those lips!! they look like there is LIFE in them, ditto the skin color, like blood is flowing in them and not antifreeze or whatever chemicals there were.
        Pants/booties- Out, but who cares.

      • http://www.GiftedCollector.com/ The Gifted Collector

As far as I’m concerned, booties ONLY belong with long pants. I hate the way they stumpifiy legs when worn with skirts or shorts. My memory of their introduction is that they were a way to get the look of boots without the bulk of a tall boot under your pants.

    • random_poster

It’s so true that people are starting to root for her. Who doesn’t like a good comeback? It’d be an even bigger in-your-face if she does it well and keeps the parents at bay.

    • lobsterlen

Not that I can see everywhere but she is not that weird orange and you can actually see her freckles.

    • Jessica Freeman

The outfit is pretty much an abomination, but her natural hair color and skin color do wonders for her.

    • aahlife

I agree that she looks healthier, but I cannot get beyond her duck lips. She is always emphasizing them with her studied pout. I prefer her origin mouth.

      • mhleta

You can actually get an injection to melt that crap. She should do it. The duck lips are indeed distracting and not terribly attractive. On anyone. Ever.

    • Monzerrat Ontiveros

OMG, i hope that she make a come back!

      • Fantastic Cat

I just hope that she can stay sober and have a good life. If that means no “comeback” then so be it.

    • neonseattle

those booties wouldn’t look so weird if they weren’t paired with such awful pants. the way they’re cut lower in the front could be really flattering and leg lengthening.

    • mhleta

Yes, her parents win the Dysfunctional Parent Award. There’s enough blame to go around between the two of them, so I don’t see what can possibly be gained by airing their dirty grievances on some cheap TV show. Shameless.

    • Rand Ortega

For the 1st time in years she actually looks like a young lady in her mid 20’s instead of a washed up porn star in her late ’40’s. Brava, LiLo. Keep up the good work & maybe in a year or 2, a few Off Broadway plays &/or indies that don’t have bondage or only sex in them, the casting directors will consider you ‘Hot’ again.

    • kimmeister

She needs to ditch the aviators badly. Those booties are aggressively ugly.

    • MzzPants

I’ve been rooting for her all along. Watching starlets crash and burn is not pleasant.

      • MilaXX

THIS^ I’ve never been a Lilo fan & I have yet to be convinced of her talent, but I wouldn’t wish addiction on my worse enemy.

    • Beardslee

Yes, there are many, many people out here who, like me, fell in love with the darling talented girl we saw in The Parent Trap and Freaky Friday. We’re rooting for you, LIndsay!

    • snarkykitten

I want to hug her. or high five her. basically tell her that this is a step in the right direction and don’t you dare turn around from this path.

    • jayetyler

I had those exact same shoes (sans the metal strip) in 1992. Good lord, I hope the ’90s aren’t making a fashion comeback. Reliving the ’80s was bad enough.

      • Heather

Sadly, everything comes back. And, as I’ve said before, I maintain that the 90s were actually WORSE for fashion than the 80s. I don’t think I had a single flattering item of clothing that entire decade. So imagine the horror that will be their reinterpretation.

    • Erica_Vuitton

She always has rocked this boho/Coachella/Venice Beach/hippie kind of look. I wish she had finished it off and zipped the ankles shut, but yeah when she looks healthy and her hair is squeaky clean like this, I can’t do anything but say AttaGirl Keep it up!

Not gonna lie I can’t WAIT to see this doc-u-series next year.

    • Frank_821

Yes I do hope she can get her life back on track and make smart career decisions.

UGH on her parents. What a bunch of narcissistic parasites

    • http://twitter.com/#!/Space_Kitty Space Kitty

      *fingers crossed*

    • MilaXX

I will forgive a 1,000 fashion faux pas if it means continued sobriety.

      • OffToSeeHim

How many times am I allowed to like this? Girl, work a neon shirt and baggy sweats, just STAY OFF THE DRUGS!

    • marlie

I loathe the booties, and the rest of the outfit is unfortunate, but she’s not on the verge if flashing a nip or her good china, so it’s a win for her. And yes, she really does look healthy.

    • Erica

One day, a while back, I asked my husband to turn off Back to Black because it made me sad because I felt that Amy Winehouse was going to die soon ( I had recently had twins, so I was particularly emotional about things.) About six months later, she died. Looking at these recent photos of Lindsay, I feel like maybe I could watch a movie she might do and not get that same feeling of dread. Which is a long way of saying that she looks alright.

    • OrigamiRose

I think this is the nicest thing I have seen about LL in a while. I do wish she had you guys in her real life.

    • Little_Olive

It’s like Zorro on his day off

    • majorbedhead

I kind of love that she’s drinking a Dunkin’ Donuts coffee rather than Starbucks. I don’t know why, other than I loathe Starbucks.

She does look good. I mean, the jeans and boots are hideous, but her face looks good and her body doesn’t look like it’s trying to turn itself inside out – and I mean that in a stressed out and high as a kite way, not a body snarking way. She looks normal.

    • formerlyAnon

What y’all said. Only to add that I hope she’s found the right therapist, one that is very, very available to her and she calls on them often. Because setting boundaries with family is hard but maintaining them is harder. And no doubt all of that is tightly intertwined with the substance abuse issues.

    • Alexandra Pimenta

I truly wish for her a RDJ kinda story… She is so young still. A lot of great things can still happen for her.

    • Bexxx

I want her to pull a Natasha Lyonne.

    • jspark

Can’t wait for the red to grow back in.

    • Imasewsure

I don’t even want to know what her parents are up to now… I think she’ll be fine (but I’m delusional).

    • rainwood1

I still have a soft spot for her because of The Parent Trap. I loved the original and I loved the remake. My fingers are crossed that she can turn her life around.

    • quiltrx

She’s looking much better–I hope this is the beginning of a real turnaround for her. I can’t quite tell what that necklace is, but at least from the distance I rather like it.
Should the BK’s all chip in and buy Lindsay some bras?

    • D J H

“Also: your parents are two of the absolute worst people on the planet and you’d do well to cut off all ties permanently. We’re just saying.”

There are not enough ‘likes’ and ‘amens” in the world for me to give to that sentence.

    • lonepear

It is so nice to see a picture of Lindsay Lohan where the most tragic thing about it is the pairing of the pants and the shoes.

    • wontons

There’s something about her that looks very at ease here–like this isn’t a photo op, like she doesn’t care if we’re paying oodles of attention, like she’s comfortable with herself. That matters to me more than the booties.

Agree with people about the hair color; she should stay in that red range, I think. If I had red hair, God knows I’d be WERQing that color.

    • valerie saenz

Stay clean & sober Lindsey girl.

    • rage_on_the_page

Weird half-booties are apparently a thing now…if you take Posh’s clothing line seriously, that is.

    • OffToSeeHim

I’m rooting for her. I know it’s quite possibly a losing proposition, but I think it’s very perceptive of you guys to realize that people are rooting for her. You wouldn’t think there would be, but I just can’t help myself. It’s like Robert Downey Junior there for a while. You would just think, “I hope this time it takes,” and then it wouldn’t, but you knew that if he managed to get healthy, it would be so amazing. And I feel the same way about Lindsey. I really just want to give her a hug, and maybe parent her a little.
