Liam Hemsworth at the Rush Premiere

Posted on September 03, 2013

Attaboy:

Liam Hemsworth attends the premiere of “Rush” at Odeon Leicester Square in London.

He should get his hands out of his pockets and hoik up his pants, but aside from that, this is pretty much perfect. Love the vest with the lapels. Love the idea of this kind of look, sans jacket, for the red carpet. Love the pattern-mixing. He’s perfectly accessorized (nice watch), and fitted; he’s groomed, but unfortunately not perfectly so. If his pants weren’t hanging down like he was on Hour Four of his cousin’s wedding reception and he didn’t have the neckbeard, we’d call this a Boy WERQ.

Soooo close. Just adjust the pants and it would be WERQ worthy.

  • marlie

He looks so much better without a beard at all, but he still looks pretty great here (though I agree with uncles T and Lo about the neck beard and the pants).

And I really like the idea of the guystars rocking the vest on the red carpet, as long as it’s done correctly.

  • Karen Belgrad

He and Darren Criss should always go shopping together (or at least that’s what I am imagining happened… including facials and mani/pedis)

    • Lanus

I now ship that, real life preferences be damned.

  • homofascist

I’ll help him adjust his pants…

  • http://frankbettecenter.org/ sleah_in_norcal

so i guess he didn’t get the memo on the neck beard situation. nice tie bar.

  • Getoverit

What is it with neckbeards? Shave for goodness sakes. Its like a woman shaving all but her ankles.

    • kimmeister

And suddenly we’re going to see a new trend for “hair anklets.” *shudder*

      • demidaemon

That is awful and mind-scarring. Let us never mention it again.

    • Little_Olive

      Oh, mental images.

  • NBG

Almost there. OK, so who’s going to offer beard grooming classes for boystars? Because clearly there’s a need.

    • JauntyJohn

      I will! I will!

  • sugarkane105

These colors really work on him. I’m hoping the scruff he’s been sporting lately is for a role – he looks so good clean-shaven. I dunno why you would want to hide that face.

  • Kimmu

I watched the red carpet stream, and once I got past my initial freaking out over how much he looks like my nephew – seriously, it’s getting creepy, did a bit of a gasp over how much I loved what he was wearing.

    • sugarkane105

Might your nephew be single? ;)

      • Kimmu

ha! as far as I know he’s flying solo.

  • NBG

P.S. Are we sure these Hemsworth boys weren’t created in a lab? What family hits the genetic lottery that epically, more than once? The odds are astronomical.

    • marlie

Mom and dad must be stunners themselves.

    • Imasewsure

Talk strapping gorgeous couples tend to make the same… so I’m guessing the entire clan is freakishy handsome/beautiful

  • filmcricket

I feel like the pants maybe aren’t quite the right size for him? If he pulled them up he’d be at flood length, but that shirt gap at the waist is a definite no-no. Am I seeing that wrong?

  • random_poster

Daddy and Mommy Hemsworth sure do make beautiful kids. Love this look, and wish he pulled it off by pulling up the pants.

  • hughman

Tie clips are the new “suspenders with belted pants”.

    • AmeliaEve

THANK YOU. I have always disliked them on their own. Add in a waistcoat and a collar bar and there is way too much going on in that eight inches.

  • NoveltyRocker

Little longer in the vest, little higher in the waist, little longer in the hem. Pretty nice shirt/tie combo.

  • Glam Dixie

Those eyes…..sigh. He’s too young for me, but perhaps for my daughters. Oh that’s right, he prefers Skankacyrus.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Carol-Sorensen/1562147212 giddypony

    Love

  • Clueless_Jock

He gets an A+ from me.

  • Spicytomato1

Adorable. And about as far as one can get, style-wise, from his “fiance.”

  • EveEve

My favorite gay uncles are nitpicking the day away today! I’m giving him my own personal WERQ because of the impeccable pattern mixing, tailoring, fit, and …those gorgeous eyes. I don’t mind the neck beard in the least. Leave the trimming for George Clooney.

    • Pterodactyl111

I like the neck beard. It certainly doesn’t work for everyone, but it works for him.

  • bhl_1123

How is this man engaged to Miley Cyrus?

    • Constant Reader

      It’s mind-boggling.

  • Maggie

So pretty. And Miley Cyrus of all people gets to call this guy her fiance. MILEY CYRUS. Sigh….

    • http://dontmakeitlikeimdumb.blogspot.com/ annabelle archer

Surely the clock is ticking, loudly, on that privilege.

  • Kate

Shave the neck, and I’ll say yes to that dance- even if it is a cheesy wedding slow song.

    • dancho

Should also zip off the mustache hairs that are curling down over the lip.

      • Kate

UGH yes. Just looking at it makes my nose tickle

  • mjude

tlo says: ” Hour Four of his cousin’s wedding reception”….LMFAO!

  • Kent Roby

He’s so perfect to play Katniss’ “catnip” in Hunger Games; what better motivation to survive that horror than to come back home to him? But, yes, I agree that the beard could possibly be for a role, which would give him a complete pass.

  • Kathy Wainwright

We came out of a pub going back to our hotel and the sidewalk was blocked for this opening. We stayed and watched. Never done this before! Was dark so never saw Olivia. It looks like it was light when she arrived! She must have heard it was an open bar and showed up early!! There @10 & had to wait for Liam and Ron Howard et al.

  • anotherkate

What is WITH the neckbeard? Male BKs, can you explain this to me? Why would a person not shave his neck? And I don’t want to hear that it’s a sensitive area, because I’m pretty sure we ladies have the monopoly on hair removal in sensitive places…

  • Imasewsure

Nice change of pace and casual without being too casual, dressy without being dull.

  • Kent Roby

I just imdb’d him to see if the beard was for a role (nothing obvious popped out), but he was quoted as saying that his biggest inspiration was when his brother texted him “Hey, fatty, it’s called The Hunger Games, not The Eating Game”, which lead him to work out more and eat less. I kinda love that quote, it’s cute to me to picture the genetically-blessed brothers picking on each other.

    • not_Bridget

Chris Hemsworth lost weight for his latest role–so he dieted & did tons of cardio. He said he preferred the weight & muscle gaining regimen he does for playing Thor…

    • formerlyAnon

      So very brotherly!

    • shorty j

that is something that only your brother could say to you. I love it.

  • Sara Brams-Miller

What the hell is he doing with Miley?

    • phylora

I heard they broke their engagement a while ago

  • Maggie Smith

This exactly right here is what I want Henry Cavill doing!!!! The casual waistcoat without jacket look is Super sexy and put together. And it rides the line of being casual and semi-dressy. And usually it just melts right into HAWT with the sleeves rolled up for a more casual look. I was just having this conversation with a friend of mine this week as he’s trying this look on. And he looked Awesome!

  • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

    (Wiping away drool)
Your vest is too short for your torso. Let me help you out of it.

    • Trickytrisha

Heh. I think it’s that the pants are too low. You should help him out of those too.

  • Joyce VG

is the vest too small? The length makes my eye twitch. He’s a meh for me. I’m the minority.

  • MilaXX

Aside from him needing to hoink up his pants, I like this look, neckbeard and all.

    • housefulofboys

Hoink? Ha – this word has just been added to my vocabulary. Thanks!

  • Little_Olive

Hee hee. I’m not a fan of the septuagenarian pant-over-belly thing, but these are pretty low. I hope they are lined ’cause man, his legs would itch otherwise.

  • Aidan B

I just don’t get it. When he was filming in Philly last fall, I almost bumped into him as he was leaving set and I was passing by on the sidewalk. I promptly recognized him, took in his flawless skin, godlike height and crisp, tailored shirt; then, turned purple, stepped out of his way without making eye contact, and skittered back to my office building. Not ONE of these red carpet appearances has solicited a similar reaction. Even here, where he’s getting it pretty much right, all I’m thinking is “meh.”

  • Pterodactyl111

    Mmmm …

  • kmk05

NOT-A-GOD HEMSWORTH! Nice to see such an effort, but… STILL NOT A GOD SORRY.

  • kirkyo

If it can’t be a WERQ, it has to at least be a WOOF.

  • vahtel

Does anyone else have the urge to trim down his eyebrows just a tiny bit?

  • quiltrx

I can’t deal with the vest-to-pants gap, but otherwise he looks good. Gotta get rid of the beard, though…he’s much better clean-cut.
I’m wondering why the press aren’t all over him about whether he and Miley are done or not. I never understood them together to start with, but he doesn’t seem the type to go in for floppy butt-cheeks hanging out a plastic swimsuit.

  • MzzPants

It is time for men’s waist length to be closer to the actual waist. I’m tired of this low-rise shit.

  • formerlyAnon

“Hour Four of his cousin’s wedding reception”

    Such an apt description!
I like the shirt a great deal, but it’s the shoes that make me feel the love.

  • Diego!

    Where’s the jacket?

  • http://www.ellenciompi.com/ NurseEllen

He does have the bluest eyes, but even they do not overcome that ugly neckbeard.

    • CNM

UGH the neckbeard is a massive disappointment.

  • MikeW_Vegas

    Hes’ so pretty

  • Randy Noak

I hate white cuffs and collars. Don’t know why, but as a look it’s always bugged me.

  • Erica_Vuitton

If he pulled them up then they would be highwaters. Aka bad tailoring!! I wish he got rid of the vest and put on a jacket instead.

  • guest2visits

A nice look for him; he looks comfortable in it too.
