Balenciaga releases a new Florabotanica ad featuring Kristen Stewart shot by Steven Meisel.

Apathetic Poison Ivy.
‘Eh’ was my first reaction.
So was hers.
Pretty good bitchface. Though no clothes to speak of. Not bad I guess.
I thought that was her only face.
Teenage disdain. I would have given my eyeteeth to look like that when I was 20-ish.
On a positive note, it’s always something they didn’t airbrush her neck in the ad. Baby steps.
True statement this actually doesn’t look super heavily photoshopped compared to what one would expect.
Those little stray hairs at the nape of her neck bother me.
I think they add greatly to whatever “sexy” might be present here.
That is what I like about it.
She looks like she’s slouching, as per usual. arg.
She is not a great beauty, but for her, this is a pretty good shot.
Wrong. Just all wrong.
I would like her more if that were actually a tat.
I think it’s a nice photo. Boring, but nice.
This is much much better than last year’s campaign.
I am sure you can get a cream for that fungus…
way better than her first one for Balenciaga. I might just be convinced that she smells good.
Close your mouth, please, Kristen, we are not a codfish.
I love a Mary Poppins reference!
And, is it me, or does she have a bit of an underbite?
I hope she feels better soon.
This is… fine. That’s all I’ve got.
I just can’t see her being in any way the right model for Balenciaga.
Meh. They could have chosen someone else.
It’s a nice pic, but she looks vacant as usual. Something about this campaign has always felt so half-hearted. Like both sides regret signing on and are just running out the contract.
You, too, can smell mopey and overpraised!
Why can’t she just go away along with the attitude?
As usual, she just looks bored.
I like her looks. (Not a popular opinion, I know.) I am not sure I like this ad. I am sure I don’t appreciate what they did with the vegetation as they intended me to.
I think most people dislike her style and attitude more than her actual looks.
I love her style.
I think she’s gorgeous, to be honest. She is totally my type, looks-wise. (Personality and personal grooming-wise? …not so much.)
I have no problem with her looks. Like Charlotte states below, it’s her attitude and over-itness as well as her tendency to deploy illusion netting and sheer to the point where their is nothing left to the imagination.
I actually find her to be quite striking; I don’t think she’s someone I would want to pin a campaign on. She might be a bit too divisive, considering her past year in the press.
pretty good, actually. certainly a kazillion times than the last ad she did for balenciaga that i came across. the one where she was wearing a 5 year old dress.
I think she’s beautiful. Just not here.
She has the most ridiculously perfect nose. I want it. She’s very pretty but the vine thing is all pretty weird looking. I don’t really like it.
She looks great. The art direction on this, on the other hand – were they smoking crack? That is fugly to the max!
My standard for KStew is so low that I almost feel like it’s a werq anytime she looks like she’s bathed within the past week.
FYI- Apparently this wasn’t shot by Meisel. It was Craig McDean.
Wrong choice for this brand. Why don’t perfume companies use WOMEN instead of young girls
I agree. To be really eye catching, Carmen D’O or some of the ladies from Advanced style could knock this out of the park while being borderline revolutionary & striking.
I wish she didn’t look like she was trying to sneer in disgust. It’s as if she smells eau de skunk right under her nose. All the time. If she has a sense of humor, it sure doesn’t show in ANY photo of her.
i think she’s shy and self conscious, which automatically makes people think you’re a stuck up bitch, but she doesn’t even try to fake interest in anything she does.
She’s probably in the wrong business then, if she can’t fake it. (I believe many celebrities–at least the more definite “actors” might have a bit of shyness and self-consciousness to them).
Why does she always look like a little girl in dress-up clothes to me even when I can’t see the clothes?
She looks very pretty and less bored than usual.
I like this a lot, it’s simple and elegant, and KStew isn’t wearing Chucks.
Maybe she is!
Oh, look. There’s Kristen Stewart, doing her best impression of the Kristen Stewart face.
I don’t think it’s a bad pic. Just nothing unexpected.
“I have vines sprouting out of my back and seem to have not a single emotion in the world about it” -thought Kristen Stewart…. if in fact she has those.
CLOSE YOUR MOUTH.
Cool, creepy and botanical. There’s a combination rarely seen.
Kristen has the perfect look for this.
Young, good bone structure, great lighting and make-up — and whatever’s left over has the software safety net of Photoshop, so it would be really, really hard to not look good.
With that said, I don’t know if it’s a combination of her face in repose or my perception of her persona or what (and when you’re pushing perfume — oh, sorry, it’s french: parfum — persona is fair game), but this young lady drives me nuts with the “all my blessings and amazing success are inconveniences and burdens” thing. It may not even be how she really is, but that’s the vibe and it bugs bad.
“Do I have something on my back; it feels a bit itchy?” “No Kristen, there is nothing crawling up your back”
I get nothing from this. The name of the scent sounds lush, tropical, and here’s some CGI’d growth on an actress who doesn’t normally emanate earth-y vibes. Big ol’ miss, in my book.
I like the ad a lot. It’s amazing what they can do with her when her big mouth is shut.
She looks pretty good, but those flowers are not attractive. They look weedy and do not inspire me to try this fragrance.
Yup, that’s the face she always makes. Am I supposed to be shocked and revolutionized?
Honestly, I maintain the only reason why people use her is for her no shit attitude looks and not because of her acting which is decent at best.
Dead eyes. Is there anyone home?
Just not thrilling.
Oh we’ve never seen THIS facial expression before! *heavy sarcasm*
At least the flowers have personality!
What a way to start my morning, with Sulkypants.
Of course that’s her face.
I’m amazed that Photoshop managed to take her usual look of surly discontentment (mostly) away.
I just think she is so beautiful, even in black & white photos.
