hair is a mess and lipstick is all wrong for that lovely dress.

      • frannyprof

        Agree 100%

    • HomeOfficeGirl

Wow…she looks beautiful! There are things about this look that are amiss, but my overall reaction was really positive. I’m actually having a hard time saying what, if anything, I love…the setting? I can’t sign off on the pink lace, the lip color, the train really, but somehow, someway, it’s working.

      • Let it out

It’s nice, right? I’ve been hating the pastels and lace in the spring collections, but this is how to deploy them perfectly.

    • Qitkat

She’s very sweet and pretty, and I especially appreciate that she chose the correct color bra for this sheer top.

    • hughman

      Her boobs look SMASH-ed.

      • demidaemon

        Oh, yes they do.

    • Mismarker

Oh, McPhee, your body just won’t quit. The dress is totally “modern bride” and I’m, strangely, okay with that.

    • In_Stitches

By Gorges, I think she’s got it!

    • Garcia Loca

She’s so lovely, but I don’t need to see her bra.

      • MilaXX

Since the top is unlined, I’m thinking it was the bra or her boobs. It’s not a bad attempt at blending in.

        • Mismarker

I agree, not a bad attempt if the only other option is boob. The bra looks pink to me, though. A flesh toned bra may have worked better.

          • demidaemon

She is wearing some weird plasticy opaque bra-thing.

    • twigg

That top needs to be lined…or wear a cuter bra.

    • MilaXX

This is actually a pretty look, but it looks like she’s wearing stage makeup. A lighter hand would have been nice.

      • teensmom99

Yes. This is a little bit of a mask.

        • MilaXX

Watching the Creative Emmys and on tv the makeup and even the bra work.

    • Kelly

There’s too much obtrusive bra, the dress looks bride’s-maidy, the hair cut/color does nothing for her, and the lipstick is wrong. It’s a testament to what a beautiful woman she is that she manages to look pretty despite style fail on all levels.

    • crash1212

I love this look. I think the red lipstick – which looks great on her – keeps it from being too twee/bridesmaidy. Love the swoopy hair and her eyes look beautiful. Me likey.

If you break it into parts, there is nothing there I would normally love. That said, she looks incredibly pretty and chic. That skirt. Wow!

    • Imasewsure

Why are we looking at her bra? I hate this sheer crap even when it’s basically very pretty

    • conniemd

This would have made a good “in or out” because I know I’m of two minds about it.

    • Janet B

      Very pretty.

    • Jacquelyn

I like the bottom half. I’m not sold on the top half.

    • LaSylphide

Whole lotta pink going on, but she seems to be able to carry it off without looking too Barbie-ish. Normally, I wouldn’t think bright red lipstick would go with this color, but it does break up the monolithic pink a bit, so it’s OK.

    • Donna Tabor

This whole sheer thing distresses me. It is possible to underline sheers with skin-toned fabric that makes it look as though the garment is sheer, but it isn’t. Why do we need to see either underwear or nipples? It’s so demeaning to women.

    • marlie

It’s a pretty dress (and I like her hair and makeup), but the way that they sewed in the bra cups is a little… off. They should have just lined the whole bodice, rather than have that weird visual effect of the pink-ish cups.

      • http://foodycat.blogspot.co.uk/ foodycatAlicia

Yeah – it wouldn’t have lost anything by being fully lined and would have gained quite a lot!

      • lobsterlen

She read before I post … I just said the same exact thing. Lining would have been perfect.

    • Trickytrisha

Apart from the foam cup, uplift, trying-to-be-invisible bra thing, I do believe Ms. McPhee looks extraordinarily lovely here. And thank the gods, she didn’t wear pink lipstick. The lighter color hair is swell.

    • PeaceBang

Jeepers, I know there’s a lot wrong here, but I just love it on her!

    • quiltrx

What a pretty gown! That lip is SO wrong, though. And some hair effort would have been nice.

    • nancy robinson

The way she is wearing that dress (especially with that pink bra, the lipstick, hair) makes the whole look so charming, and that seems strangely fresh and unexpected.

    • calimon

I just don’t think that’s her shade of pink.

    • http://armchairauthor.wordpress.com/ LesYeuxHiboux

Her boob cups don’t match her skin well enough. There’s no denying that she’s a beautiful woman, but she makes some poor choices to showcase it with the drab hair and clashing lip.

    • E. D.

I love everything but the bag – why couldn’t it be blue and matte??

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1180174329 Elizabeth Phillips

The dress is gorgeous and she looks pretty, but would look better with pink lipstick instead of red. And I can’t even get started on the hair.

    • Beardslee

The frost is forming on the pumpkin, so of course it’s the perfect time to deploy an Easter egg dress. That said, she looks very pretty.

    • lobsterlen

Beautiful gown but I wished she had the top lined instead of wearing a bra. The bra underneath is distracting and takes away from the bead work.

    • jspark

The pastel pink looks great with Brunettes… blondes stay away.

    • Tuneful54

Thanks to the bra color, I see an upside-down thong from the waist up. Yes–I am looking at someone’s bare azz in reverse. This, to me, is quite amusing. More so than the off lip color and the messy hair.

    • MagicMermaid

      My first reaction was, “BEAUTIFUL!”

    • Erica_Vuitton

GORGEOUS! Love the dress, the hair, the make up (ok maaaaybe a different lip color), the accessories, everything.

    • GillianHolroyd

I prefer where the waist sits on the model; this is making her look short-waisted. The pink suits her coloring though.

Actually like the relaxed hair although I wish she’d run a comb through it.

    • demidaemon

I can’t get past the plasticy lined boobs. It looks like someone crushed them with saran wrap.

    • kolokOlchik

      why so sad?
