Justin Long and Amanda Seyfried in Los Angeles

Posted on September 03, 2013

Doesn’t it seem like Justin Long’s primary career is dating starlets, with a sideline job of occasionally acting?

Justin Long and Amanda Seyfried taking her dog and spending some time together at a park in Los Angeles.

Honestly, who gives a shit about these two? That dog is a fucking superstar. It’s one thing when a dog smiles. We’ve all seen that. But when a dog looks at you and smiles knowingly… you’ve got yourself one charismatic son of a bitch.

These are as semi-staged as any celebrity candid shots you’re likely to see, but we figured we’d get away from the gowns happening all over Europe at the moment and just look at some celebrities trying to mimic “normal” in front of cameras. It’s a cute tableau, even if it’s all about the dog.

That dog is stoned, isn’t it? At the very least, he looks like he could use some sunglasses.

That looks like a pretty feeble excuse for a park…

  • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

If I saw these two out and about, I wouldn’t give them a blink. Now that sweet pooch? Hells to the yeah.

    • NC_Meg

Me either. I was scrolling through these thinking that if I hadn’t been told the woman was Amanda Seyfried, I probably wouldn’t have guessed. I imagine the ability to put on a pair of sunglasses and look like a different person works in her favor.

    • Louise Bryan

Oh, what a sweet puppy. Can I pet him? Do you all live around here? Who’s a pretty puppy? Yes, you are! Have to run; thank you for letting me pet your dog.

  • alyce1213

I had to look him up. She must be a dog lover, because that’s all there is.

    • VictoriaDiNardo

I;m pretty sure that’s her pooch – she had him with her on Letterman and did an adorable trick with a hamburger on his nose. Maybe she’s just as good at training the boyfriend… ; )

      • alyce1213

        Oh, you’re right. I forgot.

    • Louise Bryan

He’s a Mac. As opposed to a PC.

      • alyce1213

That hit home. I’m a Mac. Maybe I should check him out — other than Galaxy Quest, I know nothing.

        • fursa_saida

Honestly, for me, Galaxy Quest is enough. Love that movie to death.

      • MoHub

And that’s why I prefer John “PC” Hodge.

        • editrixie

If you prefer him, wouldn’t you know his name is Hodgman?

          • MoHub

            I blanked. Will fix it.

  • Spicytomato1

Seriously. The only thing I know him from is those Apple commercials. The A-list ladies do seem to go for him, though.

As for their attire, he looks inoffensive. She looks like she came straight from the gym, although her hair in the shot where it’s down looks remarkably pretty after being tied up. I like her sunglasses, too.

    • MilaXX

I kinda like him. He refuses to age, but there’s something about him I find adorable.

      • Heather

He has a deep voice, which I find sexy, and is cute in a ‘normal guy’ kind of way. Though not as cute as that dog.

BTW the dog was with her on Letterman a few weeks ago. She must fly him back and forth, but usually there’s an embargo on animal flying during warmer months. Hmm….

        • MilaXX

I remember that. The dog balanced a hamburger or something on his head.

      • MK03

I like him too. He’s funny and a surprisingly versatile character actor. I think my favorite one is Brandon St. Randy or Dr. Lexus.

        • Heather

He was hilarious as Brandon St. Randy.

    • Danielle

Wasn’t he hot and heavy with Drew Barrymore there for a while?

  • http://dontmakeitlikeimdumb.blogspot.com/ annabelle archer

Isn’t this just a pile of cute.

  • Emily Smith

He doesn’t do much for me but he manages to really date up, doesn’t he? I wonder if he’s really good in bed.

    • eowyn_of_rohan

He’s like the millennial equivalent of the Counting Crows guy dating Courteney Cox and Jennifer Aniston.

      • snarkykitten

        ahaha

      • Danielle

This comment wins. Take the rest of the day off, you’ve earned it.

    • barbarienne

I suspect it’s that winning smile, and his ability to portray “geeky” in a charming, rather than offputting, manner.

  • eowyn_of_rohan

Anyone else remember him from that show “Ed”? God, I feel old. Whatever Amanda’s drinking looks aggressively healthy and kind of disgusting.

    • Emily Smith

I was thinking the same thing about her beverage. That’s probably also like 2/3 of her entire allowed caloric intake for one day.

    • Heather

If there’s enough bananas and ginger other stuff in there, it can mask the taste of the wheatgrass/spirulina/whatever else is making it green. Whole Foods has a green juice drink that’s not horrific.

      • Janet B

Kale’s the green stuff in drinks around here

    • NOLA_gal

Ick. I thought it was just a green cup. I’m sorry I took a second look.

    • Jacqueline Wessel

Yes, I liked Ed. Wasn’t Julie Bowen in that too?

      • eowyn_of_rohan

Yes! I always think of her as being from that, not Modern Family.

        • mila_8

          Carol Vessey!

    • jayme

Seriously, I was 8 and my crush on him has never wavered. I would watch him in anything but he’s pretty cute in New Girl.
I thought she was still with Dominic West, even if they weren’t engaged anymore.

      so confusedddddd

  • teensmom99

Re Justin: nice work if you can get it, but clearly it doesn’t involve free designer swag.

    • AmeliaEve

Hey, he’s a Mac. His outfit is channeling Steve Jobs.

  • NBG

The only part worth looking at here is the dog. Gorgeous.

  • kittenwithaquip

I don’t know about the dog, but Justin looks high as fuck. I sorta peg him as the guy who can get the best weed and has a fairly large…sausage. That’s why all of the girls like him.

    • Heather

Well, a girl could do worse! :-)

      • sagecreek

And some of us have :)

  • sagecreek

Oh, please, Amanda, you’re carrying around a box of ice cream treats for dogs? Protip: Those are for when you get home.

  • MilaXX

Cute pooch. At least they are wearing regular folks clothes for their about town poses.

  • Diego!

The dog is soooo cute! I love him! These two, on the other hand, seems another staged couple á la Kaley Cuoco and Henry Cavill. Oh please! I’m not buying it!

    • largishbearishAtlish

oh wait….was that Reese Witherspoon in the parking lot behind them…??

      • Diego!

        Hahaha what? Where?

      • Heather

Miss Reese would never deign to be in the BACKGROUND of someone else’s photos! :-)

  • elemspbee

what luck this guy–hot girl and hot dog.

  • sagecreek

Staged or not, check out the Seyfried brows. She does not look happy.

  • sk888888

I’d smile, too, if my owner was carrying Doggie ice cream treats (SweetSpots)! But, I agree, the doggie is a sweetie!
Also – props to her for bringing along the collapsible water bowl for the pooch.

  • Andrea Lentz

I love that dog. he has his own Instragram and twitter

  • Stella Zawistowski

You WERQ that fur coat and blue leash, puppy!

  • Meredith

It seems sad, like the dating pool in Hollywood is just that small.

    • sagecreek

      She doesn’t look blissful.

  • mmebam

    PUPPY DOG!!!!!!!

  • Cathy S

The dog is definitely the best part of this.

  • DamH

    That happy dog.

  • hughman

    Time Machine Tim Allen.

  • Qitkat

These two are dating? I really must stop getting my only celebrity gossip from the six month old mags at the doctor’s office.

    • demidaemon

I just read the headlines at the grocery store (basically to see what BS they are going on about and how hilarious it is) and half-pay attention to E! News until I get tired of it. Usually about 15 minutes in.

  • imspinningaround

Is Amanda accessorizing her gym clothes with a Bottega purse?

    • sagecreek

Who knows? Doggie upstaged it all :)

  • PastryGoddess

Thank you for realizing that it’s all about the dog

    • sweetlilvoice

Or cat….but most cats refuse to walk on leashes. They fall over in protest.

      • PastryGoddess

My cats walk on leashes. They’ve realized its the only way they get to go outside. My cats also have epic bitchfaces, so they are not nearly as photogenic as Finn is here

  • decormaven

Dear cute dog: When your contract calls for these location shots, see if the agency will send some better bit actors to prop the scene. They did manage to bring a couple Pendleton blankets, though- hope you let them know they were for your enjoyment.

  • NYCGlamourpuss

See, I’m one of those pet-wackos who sees a dog and has to immediately go over and say hi, and greet it, and pet it, and fawn all over it. I wouldn’t have even noticed these two once the dog was in my sights.

    • snarkykitten

I have this inexplicable urge to shout PUPPY! like a 5 year old girl whenever I see a dog

it doesn’t help that my job involves dogs >_>

      • mlle

The best thing about having a dog is that as long as she’s with me, it’s not remotely creepy for me to stop and play with all the dogs on the sidewalk.

        • pookiesmom

This was my favorite part about dog walking. Constant excuses to attack random dogs on the sidewalk. With love. Attack them with love.

    • alyce1213

Me too. I just threw my arms around and kissed a huge beautiful dog at USq today.

    • largishbearishAtlish

I kid that sometimes I go to the dog park and forget the dog…dog ‘wrasslin’ is so good for the soul!

  • crash1212

She brought her dog onto Letterman last time she was on. The dog rocks…she balanced a cheeseburger on his head – of course, then Dave balanced a cheeseburger on his head. Both were cute.

  • Imasewsure

Gorgeous dog… the humans only look like stars when they smile but that’s something…

  • Tasha

I usually really enjoy this site and am OK with the snarkiness on the theory that these are professionals doing their jobs and aided to look the way they do by other professionals. But what about this is “semi-staged” enough to take this out of the realm of personal? What could be more generic than the way they are dressed or what they are doing? At some point, can’t these people just be left alone to walk their dog?

    • PastryGoddess

People, including celebrities manage to walk their dog and do normal people stuff every single day without getting papped. Usually if a celeb is being papped doing “normal” things its because they or their publicity team let the paps know where they are going to be. See “Reece Witherspoon Sidewalk and Parking Lot tour ’13″, Henry Cavil and Kaley Cuoco, or Jennifer Love Hewitts entire life for examples.

      • Tasha

This is a bit of a self-serving truism – their picture was taken so they must have wanted to have their picture taken – but if so, why? Their clothes are sort of crumpled and wrinkled; her hair and make-up (if any) are not distinctive; no bag prominently displayed; no cutesy PDA – sometimes, someone with a camera is just intruding. And considering that there is nothing fashion-related to say, why put the pictures on TLo? (other than the dog, and yeah, it is a very cute dog). OK, I am done now, no more ranting – I guess I’ll just coo at the dog…

        • http://www.tomandlorenzo.com/ Tom and Lorenzo

“Why put the pictures on TLo?”

Because that’s what T Lo wanted to do. And they’re not listed under “Fashion,” they’re listed under “Celebrity,”precisely because “there is nothing fashion-related to say.” It’s color-coded and everything, which makes it particularly easy for you to avoid if it’s not the kind of post you want to read.

          • Tasha

My mistake then. I thought I remembered that the policy was different a few years ago. Even now, most of the celebrity posts say something interesting about style.

        • AnotherJulie

I’m kinda with you, Tasha. I love the hilarious writing, and TLo are good about usually leaving the real snark for celebs on the red carpet who are there specifically to be photographed.

My problem is something for which there is no solution: When TLo (or anybody) posts something, ANYONE MAY COMMENT. Human nature being what it is, this inevitably devolves into critiquing every single thing about the scene: appearance/ clothes/ actions/ pet/ makeup/ entire life.

If I were a celebrity, and knew the entire Internet could critique my handbag selection every time I went to the gym, I would be afraid to leave the house.

    • http://www.tomandlorenzo.com/ Tom and Lorenzo

And this makes you mad? The phrase “semi-staged?” Really?

You know what takes this “out of the realm of the personal?” The presence of professional photographers. These aren’t stolen phone pics, you know.

Why did you click on this post if the very idea of it offends you? We color coded them and everything, just to make it easier for you to avoid.

  • http://twitter.com/janedonuts Jane Donuts

True story. I saw her hiking with the dog at Runyon Canyon last spring, and I immediately called my sister afterward to tell her how cute the dog was.

  • Anne

He’ll always be the dorky kid from Galaxy Quest to me.

  • wonderdivaEtsy

“…you’ve got yourself one charismatic son of a bitch.”

    LOL. Perfection, TLo.

  • lobsterlen

Many of these celebs have these beautiful cute well behaved adorable mix breed “rescue” dogs I wonder if there is celebrity dog “stylist” making these celeb to pet matches. I know that is cynical. Whatever … Amanda is enjoying her dog and the dog is beautiful groomed. Good for her!

  • http://twitter.com/#!/Space_Kitty Space Kitty

    WHO’S A VERY GOOD DOGGY?!

  • Trickytrisha

Aww, the cute factor here is approaching awesome territory. Let’s see. I give her an 8 on the cuteness scale. Him, a 6. The dog is a 15 and rising. Best accessory a celeb can have, IMO.

  • Sonja Brisson

    Who is Justin Long?

  • carpediva

Wait, tell me again how we know they’re not just, you know, going to the park? What should you do if you’re a celebrity and you just really want to take your dog to the park?

    • http://www.tomandlorenzo.com/ Tom and Lorenzo

      Bless.

  • kathrineb

Looking at the thumbnail and Amanda with her hair pulled back like that I almost thought it was Carey Mulligan. I know they look nothing alike…I don’t know… must have been the hair colour and the fair skin.

  • Tuneful54

All along, I look at that guy, and where he is, and say, “What a country!”

  • Erica_Vuitton

Every goss site has these pictures captioned with “New Couple Alert!!” so my guess is not semi-staged, full on staged as coming out as a couple pics. Props to them for doing it in normal clothes doing normal things but yeah… anyone who thinks this wasn’t staged is kidding themselves.

He’s so nerd hot, love him.
