Jessica Paré in Bibhu Mohapatra at the Audi and Altuzarra Emmys Week 2013 Kick-off Party
Like her co-stars Christina Hendricks and January Jones, Jessica is the embodiment of the styles she’s asked to model for the show. January and Christina are near perfect representations of the definition of Mid-Century beauty (Grace Kelly and Marilyn), while Jessica stands in for the Ali McGraws, Sharon Tates, and even Mary Tyler Moores of the late ’60s/early ’70s period. None of this is news; we’ve mentioned it dozens of times in our Mad Style posts. The reason we’re bringing it up now is that, like her co-stars, Jessica seems determined to stay as far away from Megan Draper style as she can possibly get in her public appearances.
Jessica Paré attends the Audi and Altuzarra Emmys Week 2013 Kick-off Party in a Bibhu Mohapatra midnight crepe dress with beaded lace peplum paired with a Jimmy Choo clutch, Stephen Webster jewelry, and Casadei ‘Blade’ pumps.
Bibhu Mohapatra Resort 2014 Collection
She favors the modern bitch-socialite look; lots of severe outfits with severe shoes and hair, bordering right on dominatrix some of the time. We’d say this is on the less-severe side of things compared to a lot of her looks, but it’s still got that “spank me” air to it. Maybe it’s the patent leather, pointy-toed, stiletto-heeled pumps she tends to favor. We’re glad she didn’t default to that somewhat harsh (if fabulous) center-parted hair with a chignon look she goes for. It would have tipped this look right over into too-much. As it is, it’s just about perfect. Love the hair and dress. We suppose the black accessories make the most sense. We keep trying to picture metallics or pops of color and it ruins the outfit.
