Old school Hollywood, but not costume-y to me. She just looks like a gorgeous grown-up woman!

      • lexilexi

Yes… with a look that fits in perfectly w/ Boardwalk Empire.

      • macwell

Almost 41? What Hollywood water is she drinking? 😉

    • Latin Buddy

      Um…we can see your spanx/shapewear

      • Linda LaPaz

        I can’t.

        • Getoverit

I cant either. I can say that if you could see the outline of it, i would rather have my spanx visible than my dimples or panties.

    • Jennifer

      50s Hollywood meets 50s nightgown.

    • Heather

Love the dress (tho think it needs to be a bit shorter), hate the shoes.

      • Tanya Wade

Love the face, hate the shoes.

    • Nancer

Pretty, but I think the neckline might be a bit too wide on her. Because I think when I see it from the front that it needs to be pulled up a bit, but from the side and back it looks great. So maybe if the straps weren’t so wide, I wouldn’t have that visual illusion. Other than that, I like it.

    • mjude

      very old school…love it

    • marlie

Very pretty. She’s definitely channeling the 20s, but in a modern, and not too literal way. I wish her shoes weren’t matchy, but oterhwise, she looks nice.

    • MilaXX

A little too literal with the face & hair. The makeup looks heavy and I hate the shoes with this.

      • mjude

        meow! :)

      • ankali

You pretty much nailed my problems with this. I also think the dress is a little bit boring — not terrible, but not enough to transcend iffy styling.

    • nannypoo

If you cut this dress off just below the crotch you would have one of those bathing suits that Esther Williams wore. And I really hate her hair.

      • conniemd

I hate, hate, hate her hair too. She has a big roundish face which the flatness of the hair emphasizes. She needs some volume or height or something. I love retro Hollywood glam hair styles or even Great Gatsby era, this just is off.

        • gracedarling

She looked pretty incredible as Bettie Page… Bring back the bangs, girl!

    • Erica_Vuitton

I love the glamour hair and makeup for the look! Shoes were a misstep but that dress was made for her. Third shot down where you can see the true red of the fabric and the mini hip pop? Love. It.

Some better shoes and a statement necklace would have vaulted this into WERQ territory.

    • Mazenderan

I get a sort of retro feel from this. I do like the length, but something about the neckline is bothering me. It lets the whole thing down a bit – into just ‘pretty summer dress’, rather than fancy premiere. I wish I could pin exactly what it is.

Don’t like the makeup. Lips and eyeliner are too harsh.

      • Qitkat

And the hemline looks like it is finished with lace. Tiny bit too long.

    • kimmeister

This gal must have the hardest working agent in show business. I feel like they’ve tried to make her the IT girl 1,000 times and it just has never taken off. She looks the same as she did 15 years ago.

      • Heather

I’ve always liked her, and she’s great as Bettie Page in “The Notorious…”

    • formerlyAnon

I like this a lot, though somehow less as a whole than the sum of the component parts. Not sure why.

    • Jacquelyn

A necklace maybe? It’s a cute dress, though.

    • crash1212

This is a beautiful rendition of Boardwalk Empire style done modern day! She looks gorgeous. Shoulda been a WERQ.
      Oops…didn’t see the toe-clenching shoes…must’ve been why this wasn’t a WERQ!

    • Terri Terri

For some reason, this dress is giving me Doris Day in “Love Me or Leave Me.” I like it!!

    • ampg

Boring – this whole look is just kind of nothing. I mean, there’s nothing wrong with it, but several friends at the last wedding I went to were dressed more stylishly.

    • Diego!

Honey, that is not your dress and not your hair and make up either. Nice trying but you miss the spot. *Insert Coins*

    • LaSylphide

Love the retro-glam hairdo. Dress is nice if unexciting.

      • myristica_fragrans

        marchesa’s much more exciting.

    • Adriana_Paula

      I miss Life on Mars!

    • amanda lynn

      she looks terrified.

    • marshmallowjane

      Fabulous! Beautiful. No improvement necessary.

    • LauraAgain

      Simply beautiful!

    • heartbot

I really want to like it, but all I can see is Target pajamas. The pretty kind, but still.
