Red velvet men’s suit. It is one of those things that doesn’t really work when said out loud, but in pictures is quite gorgeous. I wonder who is going to attempt to pull that one off on the red carpet. I can see this being in Ryan Gosling’s wheelhouse…

      • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

I can see Alan Cumming, killing it in that velvet

        • formerlyAnon

With very little prompting I can usually see Alan Cumming in my mind . . .

      • AmeliaEve

It’s got to be somebody really skinny. Otherwise it will just look like Santa Clause on a cruise.

    • MilaXX

      Gorgeous menswear

    • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

Yes, a thousand times, yes! That quilted jacket? Me wants it!!!

      • Vanja

I’m a woman and even I lust after it. Gorgeous!

    • mmebam

Derpa derp! I forgot how to bag…

    • barbarienne

I am always so sad that for some reason I can’t get these ad campaign posts to play on my computer. :-(

      • sugarkane105

Are the pics missing? If you’re using AdBlock, that’s why. I had to disable it for TLo’s site to see all the ad posts.

        • up with pod people

          Thank you! That did it.

    • hughman

Note to self : get new prescription glasses.

      • kimmeister

But everyone looks so much more gorgeous in soft focus.

        • Coolekat

          For damned sure I do.

          • kimmeister

You should see me in the dark. I look exactly like a frickin’ supermodel.

            • formerlyAnon

              Your truth is mine, sister.

    • filmcricket

Yeah, I’m on board with most of this stuff. I so wish I could pull off that elegant, androgynous look, and I am a sucker for both velvet and sparkly fringe.

      • formerlyAnon

Height. That’s really all I need. If my legs were longer I’m sure I could sufficiently disguise my hips. [Note delusional thinking which led to the mysterious disappearance of many of the photographs of me between the ages of 17 and 30.]

    • Emily Giovanni

Gloves like that (on a person who is not also bundled up for winter weather) always yell “serial killer” to me.

      • demidaemon

See my post below. Same exact thought.

        • Emily Giovanni

Nice. Definitely did not see that before. Great minds.

    • Glam Dixie

The clothes are lovely, and elegant looking, and the campaign is a refreshing change from the heroin chic of some of the others. The models expressions seem to consist of look left, look straight ahead and look right and that’s it.

    • joything

Jackets and spats … oh yes!

    • Qitkat

I LOVE every single photograph of her. Gorgeous model and incredible clothing. And her hair! I die of envy.

He’s fine enough, and the menswear is quite elegant too, but she looks like she could even pull off that Cate Blanchett dress better than Cate.

      • sunnycalif

The hair reminded me of Bride of Frankenstein. Love the clothes.

    • MemHey

She is Tilda Swinton from the parallel universe where Tilda has dark hair.

      • RedRaven617

I was thinking she was Helena Bonham Carter.

    • SewingSiren

They look like still from a German Expressionist film.

    • NOLA_gal

In architecture school I used to design buildings with oddly shaped triangular rooms fairly often. My professors would always ask me who the hell could possibly put such spaces to use, and in answer I would always hand them photos from high-fashion photography books. Stupid architecture professors, they always miss the point. Pretty clothes, though.

    • Clueless_Jock

      Understated luxury at its best.

    • KirFla

      That. Turban. I die.

    • bertkeeter

I hope her hair recovered from this shoot?

      • mlle

Hopefully it was a wig and her hair didn’t need to recover at all.

    • decormaven

Spats are on the comeback trail?

      • Getoverit

Am I the only one who hopes not?

    • itcantallbedior

God that MariaCarla can do no wrong. She is all porcelain skin and cheekbone heaven

    • Constant Reader

I was scrolling through saying “Gloria Swanson, Katharine Hepburn, Hedy Lamarr, Audrey Hepburn…” And yet, the clothes look thoroughly modern.

    • Linda LaPaz

Those are some gorgeous, elegantly tailored suits. Why don’t the boystars get their suits fitted?

      • demidaemon

Probably because they wear them off the rack or out of the showroom rather than buying and tailoring their own clothes. Another reason celebs should take a note from Oprah’s book!

    • demidaemon

She’s fabulous in all the shots. The gloves that he has on in 90% of his shots read a bit too serial killer to me. His expression does not help on that front. That’s a “lock your doors at night” campaign, not a “must have the clothes” campaign.

    • Snailstsichr

Fifth from the bottom, please. And don’t forget the earrings. I’m in love, seriously.

    • sleepycat

      Boring!

    • moxie_lady

      Ladypants!

    • Coolekat

      Absolutely fab.

    • StellaZafella

Mariacarla is sooo beautiful in a gamine kind of way…I have B&W photos of the young Kate Hepburn and they could be related. These clothes would have suited youthful, elegant Kate, as well.

    • alyce1213

      Beautiful, elegant, classic Armani. Love.

    • LaSylphide

      Tilda, your wardrobe is ready.

    • Louise Bryan

The black gloves he’s wearing in most of his pictures kind of give me the creeps. Can’t say why, really.

    • Trickytrisha

Very atmospheric. Nice to see the models being recognized for their impact. Great styling here too.

    • http://asskickingadviser.com/ Ass Kicking Adviser

I am really not trying to be a jerk but don’t all their ad campaigns look exactly the same? It’s not just me right? That aside, the men’s clothes are heavenly and the women’s are hiddy-grandma. Black velvet pants? Really? Like the black velour pants the old lady was wearing at the grocery store this morning? oh puhleeeeze….

    • ankali

She is exquisite, and that last shot of her in the black suit is just definitively representative of Armani. Gorgeous.

    • quiltrx

Nice bitchy-rich wear. It’s good to see something you know is crazy-expensive actually LOOK crazy-expensive.

    • ItsDicey

All the shots are lovely, and the suits are gorgeous!

In one shot I see Uma Thurman, in another I see Swinton. Mariacarla Boscono is quite the chameleon. At least I think so.

      • anyalama

She has a strange and mesmerizing face, I can’t stop looking.

    • Jacquelyn

Gorgeous. That last shot is especially breathtaking.

    • formerlyAnon

I really, really, really wish I was taller and richer. Ah well.

    • Jessica Rose

      Why the gloves?! Why????

    • Coleen

Is it me, or are these photographs extremely out of focus?
