Emily VanCamp and Barry Sloane on the Set of Revenge

Posted on September 26, 2013

We bet the kissing scene they’re shooting here is going to be all kinds of hot, with really flattering lighting, taut closeups, and soaring music.

Emily VanCamp and Barry Sloane on the set of “Revenge” in Los Angeles.

Try and remember, when you watch it, that she was standing on a box and they were both surrounded by cranky-looking crew members. Acting!

Oh, hell. We’ll probably tune in for the first few this season. And you, kittens?

And she’s wearing Uggs, which are an abomination. Ugh…I seriously cannot wait for that trend to die! I don’t give a rat’s patootie how comfy they are. *rant over*

      • kimmeister

I have no problem if people wear them as slippers, as they should be. Out and about in public, no.

      • Leah Elzinga

so, do I think they’re Ugly? Yes. But what about in GENUINELY brutal winter weather? To my mind they are in fact one of the cuter genuine WINTER boots (and don’t give me the whole “lined leather boots” line. No. Freezing cold. Just no. If this is your go to answer, then I will assume that either a) you do not define winter the same way as someone living in Northern Alberta or b) you’re very much a straight from the car to the house kind of kid)… And yes my soul DID just die a little for describing Uggs as “cuter”.

        • eight_of_nine

Don’t Uggs get ruined in the snow?

          • Jacob Bowen

Yeah. My sister’s were ruined in the snow last winter…

          • Erica_Vuitton

Not if you spray them with a suede protector.

          • tmchale

Yes, but if it’s dry and cold, then they’re the best option.

They are not designed as winter boots. They are not waterproof and not particularly warm. They were actually originally popularised by Australian surfers – comfy on chilly mornings but not at all a winter boot!

          • Heather

Agree. I get a real mountain winter and there’s no way those would work. I have some cute grey winter boots w/faux fur lining – you need a real sole (traction), etc.

            • http://foodycat.blogspot.co.uk/ foodycatAlicia

I bought some fabulous snow boots at the end of last winter – waterproof, quilted, faux fur lined and deep traction on the sole. There will only be about 3 days in winter when I need them but it’s better than falling on my backside whenever I step outside the door!

          • gloriana232

Yeah … I have a hard time understanding how an Albertan can consider Uggs winter boots as they are not waterproof. They get waterlogged and thus stanky and rotten.

Better off with something like Sorels. Just as trendy, but at least they’re water-resistant and have traction.

            • Leah Elzinga

once sprayed they’re not bad, and to be clear, I’ve actually never bought the UGG brand since I’d heard they weren’t as warm. They’re certainly not the boots that I’d be tromping through the snow with my kids in (that’s what Sorel-style boots are for), but the Thinsulate-lined boots I purchased are rated for -30C, so not bad. For us it’s mostly the COLD rather than the WET that’s an issue. Other than when the snow starts melting in the spring, my boots actually don’t get very wet at all. And lined leather boots just don’t cut it. They may be more water resistant, but my toes FREEZE in them. And I know Sorels might be “trendy”, but to me Sorels are SOLELY a “work” boot, like the kind you wear when skidooing, not walking through the neighborhood. Those are the boots for work crews, not what I’d choose to wear with skinny jeans, y’know?

            • gloriana232

That’s cool … I’ve seen lots of Sorels stomping around Toronto, and we’re just as “skinny jeans” as it gets when it comes to winter. Our parts of town are definitely different … we get less snow now and it melts fast, so it’s more wet than cold we’re concerned with :)

      • erica

I think she’s just wearing them for the comfort of filming. These probably won’t make an appearance in the show

    • hughman

Uggs huh? Well it’s nice she woke from the coma she’s been in since 2008.

      • KateShouldBeWorking

I read in an interview she takes a break from her heels when the shot allows.

    • Clydette Wantland

Is that board being held behind them supposed to be snow?

      • http://foodycat.blogspot.co.uk/ foodycatAlicia

I think it’s just a reflector! Got to get rid of those unslightly shadows.

        • alyce1213

          Yep, indirect lighting.

    • Jacquelyn

      I’m on Team Jack so…..yeah.

    • homofascist

Sweet baby Jesus that man is fine. You can keep your Daniels and your Jacks – that boy makes me glisten!

      • Inspector_Gidget

    • MilaXX

Everyone keeps saying it got better at the end so I may try ad check it out.

    • Ashley Alvarez

UGGS are a big shoe on sets in shots that don’t require full body visibility because of comfort/cold factor/easy to get offness.

    • Sobaika

Meh, I’ll tune in. Why the hell not. The finale wasn’t bad.

    • Inspector_Gidget

Eye candy will bring me back for a few. Let’s hope the stories are not quite as crazy and go back to focusing on catfights, beach murders and fatal baby showers.

    • raininmai

Standing on a box, huh. No wonder I think she’s so tall. I’m going to watch again this year. What the heck.

    • Cameron Turner

      For sure!

    • nannypoo

It must be strange to be an actor.

      • Spicytomato1

I know. Not exactly a typical day at the office.

    • http://dontmakeitlikeimdumb.blogspot.com/ annabelle archer

My hubs is way taller than I, I need a box carrier.

    • bellafigura1

      Her ass isn’t acting — it’s a natural!

    • kolokOlchik

Can you even imagine kissing under these conditions and trying to make it believable?

    • Kristin McNamara

I have seen every episode of this show, and honestly, I just had to google who Barry Sloane was on the show. That’s SERIOUSLY Aidan?! What the hell did he let happen to his hair?! :(

    • Jacob Bowen

I LOVE Revenge and can’t wait for it to be back!!!!!!!!

    • conniemd

I’ll definitely watch. If I had one fashion wish, it would be that her stylist on “Revenge” would style her for the red carpet. It’s like she deliberately dresses to be the slutty opposite of Emily/Amanda.

    • Erica_Vuitton

Cute jacket!!! Mmmmm Uggs the warmest most comfortable footwear ever.

    • Shawn EH

      Yes, still on the Tivo.

    • lrhoff

I’m in — can’t wait! I just wish it wasn’t at the same time as Masterpiece Theatre…..
