Elisabeth Moss on the Set of “Listen Up Philip”

Posted on September 05, 2013

Lizzie looks cute here:

Elisabeth Moss hits the Brooklyn set of her new film “Listen Up Philip” in New York City.

We don’t know if it’s a costume or just her showing-up-for-work clothes, but she looks cute and relaxed. We’re leaning toward costume, just because it looks like a very “put together” look (and it doesn’t quite look like her style). Hate the booties, though. She looks much more striking with the blonde hair.

This is how Julianne Hough wished her hair looked like on the red carpet.

    • MilaXX

Agreed. I’m sure Julianne thins she looks like this,

  • mmebam

Why is booties and shorts a thing?

    • crash1212

Same reason booties and sundresses is a thing. It just IS….for now!

    • gsk241

I don’t know, but I’ve seen girls walking around my university’s campus with that look a lot this fall. Obviously a “thing” and one that I hope passes quickly!

    • RebeccaKW

I like booties and shorts (or dresses/skirts) sometimes. I generally prefer a taller boot (like her tattooed companion is wearing) but I don’t hate the short booties. It just depends what they look like. I don’t particularly care for these booties with the shorts, though.

    • LauraAgain

I don’t know! It makes legs (even long ones) look stubby and cut-off.

  • I like Lizzie with a bit of edge to her. I’ll never like stank boot, but that’s neither here nor there.

    • fursa_saida

Yeah, there’s something a little (a very little) punky about this that I’m digging for her, especially with the blonde hair.

  • Erica_Vuitton

I can’t even see her I’m too busy staring at the acid washed denim sweatpants next to her. Why? I mean… just why???

  • Jacquelyn

Wow, I love her as a blonde. I actually really like the booties and shorts….

    • Getoverit

The booties and shorts or skirts are growing on me. Maybe it is because we keep seeing it. I wouldnt actually pull it off though due to my little ankles and my ski feet.

  • mjude

i would not last a minute wearing boots this time of year without socks. i am an old bitter kitten. the look really pisses me off.

    • marlie

Maybe she’s wearing socks or footies. And after 3 steps, I’m sure they’ve slid off of her feet and are now crammed into the toe of the boots.

      • Jacqueline Wessel

I hate when that happens. (When I was much younger I used to spray a little Spray Mount adhesive to the back of my heel and glue those footies in place. Of course, then you have to scrub that stuff off.)

        • insertcleverbit

          This is genius!

  • marlie

I love this haircut and style on her. Side-swept bangs and hair that frames her face really work for her. The outfit itself is cute, except I will always hate booties. ALWAYS.

Also, Where’s Liz’s bag from, because I wants it.

  • sagecreek

I hate the stank-booties, but it’s lovely to see her not being Peggy 🙂

  • KateMaryC

I’ve never seen this in her before, but she reminds me of Emma Stone when she is blonde. Someone cast them as sisters.

    • neonseattle

they DO look alike. but the blond looks striking on Elizabeth and yet life-sucking on Emma. what’s that about?

      • Alloy Jane

Oh that would be a good one. I lurvs me some Margaret Olsen. I think maybe because we’ve never really seen Emma’s natural blonde on her. Or at least I’ve never seen it, but she def looks better with not blonde hair. Maybe because she’s pasty and freckly? I always associate pasty/freckly with ginger.

      • melisaurus

Different skin, eye, eyebrow, lip colors.

This fashion for ankle boots with skirts & shorts will pass, I’m sure, as soon as enough women recognize that it doesn’t do much for their legs. And that it looks very “lost luggage” when the boots are black and heavy and the clothes are summery.

But it’s already missed the window for passing soon enough for me.

She looks great as a blond, I wouldn’t have guessed it.

    • conniemd

ya know, I have three pairs of ankle boots that I just love, black, brown and rust red. Come April, they get put in my closet to be brought out in November, once we get the snow, rain and mud here in the northeast. I would never, ever dream of wearing my ankle boots with summer clothes. I even hate to put on sandals, as opposed to my flip flops once I leave the house. I want as little as possible on my feet. They would sweat in my ankle boots and the boots would rub blisters into my heels if I didn’t put on my little ankle socks. I just don’t get this fashion trend at all, unless I lived in Alaska or Iceland.

  • Tatiana Luján

I love her hair and makeup.

  • imspinningaround

Doesn’t look like her style? She wears weird “edgy” asymmetrical Philip Lim looks all the time. This is very much her steeze.

  • Random Compliments

    Best she’s ever looked.

  • filmcricket

Like the cut, hate the colour, hope the clothes are a costume.

  • Bexxx

If first season Zoey Bartlet was filmed in 2013 instead of 1999. Damn, I feel old.

    • Bexxx

Which is to say she looks freakin’ fantastic and fresh.

  • NoveltyRocker

Kinda get what people are saying about booties in summer when I see shorts made out of leather.

  • Miss WKS

    The booties look like hooves….

  • Diego!

    Is she playing a prostitute?

  • Beth513

Uncles, when are we going to talk about top of the lake and how stunning it was and how stunning she was in it? When? Did I miss it?

    • futurenicole

Best thing I’ve watched in years. I gorged on it over two days, then started it all over again the second I finished. It’s a masterpiece.

  • LaSylphide

I sure hope this is a costume, because I’d hate to think anyone would wear this outfit willingly. Very unflattering.

  • elemspbee

    didn’t realize she’s cute.

  • gracedarling

I actually think her ideal hair colour is in the strawberry blonde range – the peroxide washes her out a bit – but I guess Hendricks has a lock on that for a while. It is fun to get to see her be sexy!

  • Ivy

Can anyone ID the bag? I’m lusting after it!

  • nannypoo

I like this haircut for her but I hate the color.

  • I honestly never noticed how cute Elisabeth is on Mad Men. Whenever I see her interviewed (she’s been with Andy Cohen a few times), she looks so pretty. I agree with you about her hair color. In addition, she has a square jaw and a bit of a prominent nose (from some angles only). Her hair on the show does not flatter her. It’s too stiff and hard. Elisabeth’s facial features are delicate up close so they’re drowned out by teased and flipped hair and thick eyeliner of the 1960s. This soft and blonde hairstyle lets her beautiful skin and eyes show. In addition, she has a soft speaking voice. Her beauty is subtle but definitely there.

I couldn’t guess if she dressed herself or not.

  • I see that Elisabeth will be a guest judge on the next Project Runway Allstars that begins at the end of October 2013.

  • decormaven

Booties. Must. Die. But dammit, they will be popping up everywhere when the weather turns.

  • Josefina Madariaga Suárez

She looks amazing with blonde hair, beautiful and kind of misterious.

I want to think this is her outfit and not a costume: she loves to show off her legs, she has worn shorts on the street previously, and the boots are so wrong that I don’t want to think that someone got paid to pair them with the look.

  • Krysta

Love those boots! Just not with shorts.

  • twilightgirlportland.com

    Love her hair like this.

  • Jaime

Still don’t like the blonde hair – it’s too yellow for her skin tone. I think maybe a light ash brown would work better.
