Elisabeth Moss in Andrew Gn at the 2013 Emmy Awards

Posted on September 23, 2013

If this was … we don’t know, Nicole Kidman or someone like that, it would probably not be worth noting. But Lizzie’s really had to learn how to do the whole public style thing and, like her signature character Peggy Olson, we’ve all kind of enjoyed being witness to her struggle.

Well now it’s time for the triumphant montage:

“Mad Men” star Elisabeth Moss attends the 2013 Primetime Emmy Awards held at Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles, California in a Andrew Gn dress paired with a Rauwolf clutch and Neil Lane jewelry.

Love it. Never looked better. The dress is beautifully simple and dramatic, but the real triumph here is the hair and makeup, which are both flawless. Attagirl, Miss Olson.

After watching The Fall, and while we’re still smack in the middle of Broadchurch, we found ourselves pretty bored with Top of the Lake, but since we’ve never heard anything but wonderful things about it, we’ll have to get around to finishing it one of these days.

Sticke w/Top of the Lake, it is well worth it. Yes, Lizzie WERQ’d
    the Emmys

Oh yes! Top of the Lake is an intriguing story, a fascinating slice of dysfunctional life, crime, (and a bit of wacky nouveau hippie stuff) in New Zealand. It rather slowly simmers along with all sorts of atmosphere and some pretty engrossing plot lines. Moss is exceptional. Holly Hunter’s character is a tad bizarre, but amazing. It’s a well made, unusual show – definitely worth the effort to get into it.

Freaking love her hair so freaking much.

    • MDubz

I love the cut, and the blonde is ALMOST right, but not quite. I think she’s better as a brunette.

  • formerlyAnon

She looks great. She’s wearing a very lovely dress and wearing it well, but it is SHE, Elizabeth Moss, who is stunning. Excellent hair and makeup and that wonderful smile.

  • Mariah J

LOVE her with blonde hair. The whole picture is WOW what a difference.

  • quiltrx

Great dress, and the face and the hair are pitch-perfect. Attagirl.

  • MaryAtRealityTea

I hate this dress! Elizabeth’s face/hair look stunning, but the dress is just no! The top looks like one of those sequined tube tops I had in college. I wore them to a lot of sorority functions. The bottom looks like a popcorn ceiling from afar. This is just so, well, it’s High School Homecoming to me. Just… No.

  • A Certain Someone

Wow. I have never seen her look better… ever. Way to go, Lizzie!

  • Katherine Leay

she looks beautiful. Personal best for her.

  • Sweetvegan

    Give her a WERQ!

  • LauraAgain

I just want to see some big dangly diamond earrings sparkling up this look!
(See Anna Gunn at this same event).

Dislike the strapless without a necklace.

  • Alexander Peterhans

Interesting, Broadchurch kind of bored me, and I adored Top of the Lake.

i got bored with Top of the Lake too- then one rainy afternoon, having already finished OITNB and House of Cards, I finished the series. It’s very typical Jane Campion…VERY dark, perverse… has some weird themes. I still don’t really understand the need for Holly Hunter’s whole camp…. but it was only like 6 or 7 episodes- curiousity got the better of me.

fanfuckingtastic. i am so proud of her (said in my best grandmother tilly voice)

  • Diego!

  • MichelleRafter

Beautiful. And you have to finish Top of the Lake: it’s best consumed in binge mode.

  • Beardslee

I too was watching Top of the Lake – and then stopped. It’s like a book that you put down, even though you’re mildly enjoying it.

  • BigWhiteGrannyPanties

    Love love.

  • CozyCat

Yeah, I’m not absolutely sure it’s her best color. (I think she’d look better if it weren’t quite so light and a little more strawberry….)

But as soon as she went blonde, her style choices improved. Whether she’s an outer blonde or not, she’s obviously an inner blonde, and she’s looking a lot better since she embraced who she is.

just finished the first season of The Fall tonight. Eeek! Only 5 episodes and a complete cliffhanger. I heard that due to Gillian Anderson’s other commitments they won’t start filming season 2 until 2015. So my recommendation is watch season 1 right before season 2 airs!

  • H2olovngrl

Thank you! I was looking for any of the bitter kittens’ opinions, so much appreciated. I really want to watch it, but I have to either wait for Netflix, or track it down online. If anyone has any suggestions…? We have been trying to do without cable, but at times like this, it really sucks!

  • Trickytrisha

I’m not able to catch Broadchurch when it airs, though I do have cable, so I buy and watch it it on iTunes. Having subtitles is nice too, for some of the accents. I’ve not been able to find it streaming elsewhere online.

It’s a great show, with fine acting – very atmospheric and suspenseful. The last episode is coming up this week, on Wednesday, I believe.

  • Aurumgirl

I’ll wait and rewatch the series just before series 2 starts, then. I’m thrilled someone has some news about whether or not it will continue!

  • Golfkat

Yeah, I googled it afterwards and figured that would be the one :)

  • amaranth16

It’s so good! You should check it out.

  • demidaemon

I know, right? It does highlight the differences between attention whorism and true class.
