Beyonce in Ibiza

Posted on September 03, 2013

We’re back, darlings! Tanned and well-rested after our 3-day weekend. And you? Did you have a lovely time away from us? Because here’s the thing: no matter how wonderful your weekend or ours was, chances are…

Beyonce carries her daughter Blue Ivy onto a yacht in Ibiza, Spain in a pair of Citizens of Humanity “Chloe” high waist cut off shorts.

Beyonce did it better.

Six-inch heels on a yacht in Ibiza with a baby on her hip. If that isn’t fabulous, then we need a new word.

    • Latin Buddy

I bet at this point, 8-inch heels must feel like Keds to her.

    • http://foodycat.blogspot.co.uk/ foodycatAlicia

My weekend was not spent on a yacht in Ibiza. Blue Ivy’s pyjamas are a WERQ.

    • BobStPaul

      How about ludicrous?

      • korilian

        Irresponsible?

Gee officer. I’m sorry I tripped an dropped my baby in the ocean. I just HAD to wear six inch heels on an unstable surface. Who knew the little tyke couln’t swim?!?

        • PetyrBaelish

Beyonce has been dancing for hours straight in high heels since she was 15. At this point, wearing shoes that high is like being barefoot for her.

        • Lucas

This comment made me LOL! I love it, thanks for that

    • Jacquelyn

I don’t think fabulous is the right word here. Honestly, I know it’s probably a pole dance moment, but there are some very adorable high end flats in this world Ms. Beyonce. There is no need to be wearing those at this moment. When that boat starts moving, good luck standing up.

      Blue Ivy’s PJs are adorable.

    • Deac82

The owner of that yacht should be pissed. I bet those shoes are ruining the fiberglass.

      • filmcricket

The owner is probably her husband. But I agree, I hope she took them off pronto, if only because they look ridiculous.

        • Nikko Viquiera

Or, she may actually own the boat.

        • Deac82

doubtful that they would own the boat seeing as its in the Greek Mediterranean–unless its kept in Europe full-time. Most likely its a charter yacht since the cost in fuel and crew to get from US waters to Greece would be in the hundreds of thousands of dollars–far more expensive than a luxury charter on a really really nice boat. Then again, you never know about the power of the rich celebrity to blow cash.

          • YoungSally

Actually — it is pretty easy to blow a million or more on one of these charters…there is the cost to rent the boat (high six figures)…then the cost of the staff and then a huge prepay for fuel, food etc. I only know this bc my sister booked one for her employer….and they are NOT Bey.

          • EveEve

Ibiza is part of Spain – just off the eastern coast. Regardless, wearing those kind of shoes on a boat is a quick way to ruin the deck, and piss off the captain, even if the captain keeps quiet about it.

            • Deac82

You are right, I’ve just had Mykonos on the brain all week since I’ve had to look at all my friends’ instagram pics of them on vacation there lately :(

          • kim bunchalastnames

maybe she got it on eBey.

      • Vaniljekjeks

I was about to say… has she ever been on a boat? I love heels as much as any bitter kitten, but on a boat… it’s “boat shoes” or no shoes.

      • Emily

Agreed. I cringed when I saw the pictures. Dark soled shoes (no matter how fabulous) should NEVER be allowed on a boat, yacht, or any other type of floating vessel.

      • NOLA_gal

No kidding. I can’t imagine any boat owner allowing those icepicks onboard. Yikes.

    • HomeOfficeGirl

      I don’t know how she’s doing that…
Her legs look great, no doubt. But the shoes don’t “go” with anything else going on here and it all seems kinda risky.

      • veronicafish

And frankly I think they look tacky.

    • Tess Danesi

Honestly, though Beyonce is probably pretty adept at walking in those things, she dances in similar shoes which is mind boggling in itself, carrying a child wearing those borders on idiotic to me.

Oh fuck, I am getting old.

      • leahpapa

Meh, I’m an Old, too; but I did take a spill while carrying my daughter (who is a week younger than Baby Blue) and it put the fear of heels into me but good.

        • cheesebomb

While I get what folks are saying here, on the other hand the other times my mother ever tripped carrying any of us was when she was barefoot – women (and men) trip and fall with or without carrying kids in all sorts of shoes or lack there of.

    • http://dontmakeitlikeimdumb.blogspot.com/ annabelle archer

The owl onesie is giving me life.

      • http://foodycat.blogspot.co.uk/ foodycatAlicia

I think it is matching separates! But so cute.

        • http://dontmakeitlikeimdumb.blogspot.com/ annabelle archer

          I stand, adorably, corrected.

    • Jessica Freeman

I really don’t think the shoes work here. She’s been rocking flats with her casual looks since Blue was born, so these just boggle the mind as to why she chose them. I love seeing her baby in jammies. So sweet.

    • mrsdalgliesh

The word you’re looking for is “idiotic.”

    • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

I spent Labor day in a friend’s kitchen, helping her work through 30 pounds of apples to make pectin from scratch. Hmmmmm. Something is out of joint here.

      • majorbedhead

Yeah. BeyBey’s feet, after sliding around on a boat in those ridiculous shoes.

        • teensmom99

Kiltntiltd, I’m sure you had the proper footwear for the activity.

          • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

But of course. My Doc Martens. lol

            • teensmom99

              Always appropriate!

            • MoHub

What? Not Mario Batali orange crocs?

            • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

LOL Orange and me are not usually on the best of terms. and crocs? (shuddering)

      • http://www.ellenciompi.com/ NurseEllen

I sure would have used some of that bounty for applesauce! Hope you had fun!

        • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

Always! I hope you had a good weekend, Sweetie!

      • formerlyAnon

I’d take your Labor Day over Bey’s yacht in Spain in platform heels.

Which is fortunate, as yours is more in line with the choices available to me.

      • Janet B

We mashed up asian pears with plans to make a cider for the holidays.

        • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

          YUM!!!!

        • kimmeister

I’ve never heard of pear cider, but that sounds amazing. Does it taste different made from Asian pears, as opposed to other pears?

          • Janet B

The (free) Asian pears are an experiment, which we hope works out well.

            • akprincess72

I’ve had hard pear cider & it’s lovely!

        • Anathema_Device

Hard cider or regular cider? My husband tried hard cider with our Bartlett pears, and it didn’t come out very well. I am set for pear vinegar, though. Curious to know how yours turns out.

          • Janet B

Hard cider. Fingers crossed we have better luck.

            • Anathema_Device

I hope you have great luck! If you have any pears left, pear-infused vodka is delicious and makes a great homemade gift.

            • Janet B

              I bet that’s tasty.
Long ago my dad made apricot-infused vodka, all I remember is the apricots not the vodka.

      • http://marshmallowjane.com/ marshmallowjane

I think that sounds fun. Not the same kind of fun as a yacht, but great fun nevertheless.

      • kimmeister

Meanwhile, I don’t even know what pectin is.

My Labor Day: made the hubby breakfast in bed, gleefully bought new pots and pans at Macy’s 2-day sale, stopped by Harbor Freight, went on a 5-mile hike up Mt. St. Helena, and then we visited my in-laws and brought them presents. Then we got home and watched a few episodes of White Collar. Terribly pedestrian as holidays go, but we liked it.

        • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

          Sounds like a great day!

        • formerlyAnon

          That is a marvelous day!

It is much less stressful to be happy and/or contented when it doesn’t require dancing bears, bespoke tailoring, yachts in Spain or prime seats at first run smash hits.

          • kimmeister

Like Sheryl Crow sang, “it’s not having what you want, it’s wanting what you’ve got.”

        • akprincess72

Yours & Kilted’s sound wonderful! My husband is up north at work & the dog (our child) was sick so I stuck around home & alternated between reading, watching tv (both while snuggling said sick dog [btw Masterpiece Mystery was excellent!!!]) & quilting. Was just fine for my tastes. =)

      • conniemd

I spent Saturday and Sunday working the whole day catching up on work that I was woefully behind on that was due today. My daughter, bless her heart, spent the weekend at a beach house in Emerald Isle, North Carolina with her gay husband.

    • majorbedhead

      The baby is better dressed.

      • akprincess72

        Totally.

    • Zaftiguana

Feeling pretty good about my toddler having those exact pajamas.

    • HVM

      Those shoes are ridiculous.

    • SewingSiren

Yep. I’m pretty sure i lose , because I cleaned out all my air vents.
I love everything about the look except the 6″ heels on a yacht.

    • Lauren Lynch Fox

Her shoes look silly. Tripping and dropping a baby is not chic.

    • deelup

Carrying your baby over the water in those shoes is pure insanity.

    • MilaXX

I had a great time with old friends at a cook out. Maybe not as fab as Bey’s but wonderful nonetheless.

      • akprincess72

        Sounds perfect!

    • Tatiana Luján

I don’t think it’s fabulous. I think it’s ridiculous, dangerous and irresponsible. There.

      • MaggieMae

I’ll join your bench. The shoes are making me cranky and sad.

On the other hand? The owl outfit on Little Miss Cutie? Adorbs!

    • Trickytrisha

That is some fugly footwear – hideous and just plain dumb. Not so fabulous at all. Indeed, not cool to risk that armful of precious baby wearing those ankle breakers.

    • Beardslee

Those are aggressively hideous shoes. But oh, the nape of her baby’s neck!! Brings back lovely memories of when my children possessed delicious napes like that.

    • formerlyAnon

My instinctive response would be “silly” not fabulous. But she probably can run a 10k in platform stilettos so we’re not operating from the same premises.

Nice that her baby sometimes goes calling in her fancy pajamas just like mine did.

    • Lilithcat

Silliest damn shoes to wear on a yacht. She needs a pair of Topsiders.

      • J. Preposterice

        it’s a yacht, not a cat boat.

    • RuthGo

I actually blurted out “oh my god!” in surprise when I scrolled down. I was totally not expecting those shoes.

    • crash1212

Guess being on a yacht is different than being on a sail boat. I had appropriate shoes on while sail boating and still did a face plant…can’t imagine being in six inch heels. She really isn’t like us!

    • Monzerrat Ontiveros

This reminds me to Michael Jackson with his baby on the balcony…. Very stupid..

    • Linda LaPaz

Stank boot. On a yacht. In Ibiza.

      • Kimbolina

Seriously! The height of the heels is stupid enough. But the fact that they’re booties and her foot is completely enclosed while she’s doing all sorts of summery/beachy/boat-y things is just sort of grossing me out.

    • Trisha26

Celebs…the laws don’t apply to them. Like gravity. Or common sense.

    • nannypoo

Whether you agree with her style choices or not, she really has mastered the art of acting like a celebrity better than anyone else I can think of.

    • marlie

      Welcome back, gents!

Miss Bey gets around. But yes, those heels are killa.

    • Cathy S

She can keep the shoes. I want the baby. Such a cute baby!

    • SugarSnap108

Love the second-to-last shot where baby is looking down at the shoes and appears to be thinking, WTF? I hear ya, kid. What a cutie patootie in those PJs.

    • ConnieBV

Sorry, no. Not only are SUEDE booties and shorts ludicrous, but the tee looks like something you get at one of those boardwalk beach tee stores. Blue Ivy girl, you are babywerquing.

    • http://marshmallowjane.com/ marshmallowjane

I think spending time on a yacht would be fabulous. I’ve been watching “Below Deck.”

Those shoes look silly with shorts. How smart is it to wear heels like that while carrying a baby? Even if she’s used to heels, those can’t be that safe. Seriously.

I’ll admit that I’m not as enamored by high heels as other women and fashionistas are. But I think those shoes are ugly. They’d look good with a long gown that would cover them completely. Perhaps her ankles are too small for the shoes.

      • demidaemon

How was that show? I heard some of its cast are just terrible people, which is status quo for reality TV, but still.

        • http://marshmallowjane.com/ marshmallowjane

There wasn’t much on television this summer, and I watched a couple of episodes and then I noticed that the finale was being aired. I thought the lifestyle is interesting. There were three females on the job. One was management. The other two had no respect for chain of command. In fact, one of the males didn’t either. Don’t drink on the yacht when it’s out on charter, period. “I was pissed off and one drink wasn’t gonna hurt anybody.” That was the mentality. They rolled their eyes when their behavior was corrected. The three people who were immature will not be back. They are looking for something different, and this was obvious. One of the groups that chartered the yacht was doing cocaine. When this was brought to the attention of the captain, he canceled the remainder of the trip, and he kicked the people off the boat. A swift reprimand; that was refreshing.

    • MarieLD

      Her hair grows very quickly.

      • boweryboy

I’m guessing with the help of extensions. Why cut it if she’s only going to sew it back in?

    • ccinnc

I don’t understand those shoes with Daisy Dukes and a t-shirt. On a yacht. Carrying a baby.

    • boweryboy

I’m cringing. One slip and Blue Ivy is shark bait.

    • Cautiously Pessimistic

Chances are, if it’s warm enough for Mom to forego pants, that poor baby is overdressed.

And I agree with the consensus on the ridiculous shoes.

    • http://heartprintandstyle.com/ Vivi N

She deserves this vacation. I was at the Made in America festival this weekend and saw her performance. She gave it her all.

But really really, I’m here for Ivy’s onesie. I’m all for onesies.

    • Carrieanno

Am I missing something here? Like the “fabulous?”

    • Poeta Paz

      Very dangerous.

    • Erica_Vuitton

I don’t understand why short short cut off shorts and sky high heels on others are trashy and/or attention whoring but on Beyonce its fabulous. I honestly think she looks ridiculous.

    • Anathema_Device

My weekend was spent on my couch blowing the unending clots of cold-induced snot out of my nose. What? That’s not fabulous? Fine!

I’m with those who think the heels are kind of dumb for the setting. But then again, it is Beyonce. So, heels always work, I guess.

    • lobsterlen

I am cringing. That’s a horrible combination. Not only doesn’t it look terrible and boardwalk trashy but is she is trying to kill herself and the baby wearing those shoes on a boat. I don’t care how big the boat the boat is its very dangerous.

    • alyce1213

      Ridiculous, yes. Fabulous, not.

    • MsKitty

Six inch heels on a ramp are all fun and games until someone ends up in the ER.

    • M. H. Leader

She looks hiddy. First, those shoes will DESTROY the deck of that boat. Ridiculous. The cutoffs are NOT flattering. In fact, the only cute thing about her outfit is the baby on her hip. Now THAT is adorbs.

      • Fordzo

Like she gives a sh!t about the deck. She got 99 problems, but a deck ain’t one.

    • CeeQ

I’m not loving the cut offs. But the heels I can dig. The baby on the hip is freaking out cuz she wobbles just once and….GAH. Never the less – a weekend on a yacht would have been fun =D
      I’m also not loving her hair….looks fried…

    • LJCdoc

Shoes like that do not belong on a boat (nor, just my opinion, anywhere).

    • Tracy_Flick

Those shoes are ugly and look stinky. There are plenty of gorgeous sandals with sky-high heels.

    • Amy909

is it weird that my eyes went straight to Blue Ivy’s onesie bc I love the print?! Why does Beyonce’s hair look so scraggly? The shoes definitely take her outfit to rich bitch territory though.

    • Therese Bohn

Someday, her hip bones are going to pay for those shoes.

      The baby’s adorable!

    • LesYeuxHiboux

You carry your baby in those shoes?

Also, as a former CDC worker in the infant department…WHY is your baby in a long-sleeve onesie when you are wearing cutoffs and a t-shirt in Spain?! Babies naturally run hotter than we do, and if Blue Ivy cried all day it’s your fault Bey. Too hot.

It’s a really cute onesie, though. I bet Auntie Solange bought it for her. And that hair!

    • Qitkat

I shudder at the stupidity. Thigh muscles of steel on a slanted ramp with a 25 pound offset on one hip. She can dance all she wishes alone like that, but common sense ought to trump “fabulous.” We know you take your pants off one leg at a time like the rest of us, Miss Bey. Miss Blue Ivy trusts you completely, you know. And she’s adorable.

      • AnotherJulie

Right? Money and fame can’t buy common sense and good parenting

    • Lilak

      The baby wins this one.

      • valerie saenz

        Baby is adorbs.

    • Bexxx

Well apparently everyone here didn’t get any rest this weekend. Y’all are cranky.

    • Adriana_Paula

If height were needed for some reason, this would have been the perfect place to deploy some summery wedges. Much safer and more venue-appropriate.

    • Jessica O’Connell

Wasn’t there a big thing recently about her cutting her hair really short (i.e. probably just taking out her gigantic weave)? What happened?

Also, sorry, as much as she deserves props for being able to wear those shoes at all, it just seems irresponsible and stupid to wear them holding her child and on a boat.

    • lisaepc

Mz B had time to put on her heels and didn’t have a minute to get her child dressed is what i am seeing. Looks like she is going around the corner to the Laundromat…justsayin

    • demidaemon

      Her poor feet!

    • Erica Woods Tucker

DAYUM! Not my cup of tea…but DAYUM!

    • Fordzo

I thought she was in Philly this weekend?

Anyway. Her hair is capital eff-are-eye-eee-dee.

I want to squeeze on that bebe!

    • Kathleen

Blue’s outfit is adorable – her mama’s, not so much.

    • lilyvonschtupp

Dosen’t matter whether or not she looks ridiculous. That baby ain’t hers, anyway.

    • lilyvonschtupp

      She forgot her booty pads.

    • http://asskickingadviser.com/ Ass Kicking Adviser

I can’t. Sorry. It’s not even cute and casual. The shorts are hideous and the type of thing that make everyone laugh at fashion loving folk (such as us) and the shoes are just…why?? I thought it was Rhianna and that is NOT a good thing.
I am on the bandwagon with giving the baby a WERQ though.

    • nicky

What happened to the much publicized pixie cut? I never saw her with it once past the initial instagrams.

    • kathrineb

      Ah boating/carrying baby shoes LOL.

    • guest2visits

I f Beyonce was as barefoot as baby Blue; this would be a perfect look for a boat. Spike heels and fiberglass decks…ouch!

    • April

please somebody comb that baby hair# her har hair always done what happened to the baby
