Ariel Winter at The Wizard Of Oz 3D World Premiere

Posted on September 17, 2013

Outside of a gingham pinafore, we can’t picture anything more appropriate for a Wizard of Oz re-release red carpet:

Ariel Winter attends “The Wizard Of Oz 3D” World Premiere at TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, California.

Of course, if she did show up in a gingham pinafore, bitchy people like us would roll our eyes and say it was too “expected” and “on point.” But that’s why you love us; we can complain about ANYTHING at the drop of a hat.

But not this. No complaints here.  That skirt is both cute and a little too cute, if that makes any sense. It depends on how it’s styled. The right choice was made when a black top was paired with it. Any color in the top at all and the whole thing would’ve gone cartoony.

      WERQ!

    • Mismarker

Wow, she is gorgeous. The Modern Family folks are probably finding it incredibly difficult to sell her as the nerdy, unattractive sister anymore.

      • MilaXX

The kids are all growing up. The kid who plays her brother was on Ellen yesterday. He’s grown 3 inches and his voice is changing.

        • Violina23

…and yet Sarah Hyland will never not look 14, she has one of those baby faces

      • Jennifer Peters-Ahnberg

They’re doing a good job of letting her character bloom. She truly is a gorgeous girl – and she looks great here!

      • Nicole C

I never really thought of her as unattractive… nerdy yes. Because last season, there was a plotline where she was juggling two boyfriends. Nerds can be hot too!

        • Mismarker

I have never found her unattractive, either, but that is definitely the way her character has been written in the past. Especially in contrast to her “has nothing but her looks” sister played by Sarah Hyland. I did not see every episode this past season so have possibly missed certain character developments. Just saying nerdy glasses, ironic t shirts and hoodies aren’t going to be effective at hiding her obvious beauty for much longer!

    • MilaXX

She looks cute. More importantly she looks her age. Well done

She’s such a doll. This was perfectly executed. If I were to make any change at all, it would be to pull her hair up into a fun twist, braid or pony tail. But that’s just me wanting to play dress up.

    • Clueless_Jock

Cute but I think she needs a necklace or perhaps earrings with a pop of color to balance the floral print below.

    • Nikko Viquiera

As Britney would say ” Werq bitch”

    • Cindy Bartlett Zigler

cute, but she could’ve touched up her pedi – looking a little ragged… :-P

    • Danielle

      This is perfection. Three snaps!

    • clairellis

Love it! She’s adorable. Also age appropriate.

    • teensmom99

Sandals are also perfect to keep it from total tweeness.

    • kimmeister

Super cute. My only quibble is with the shoes.

      • Lilak

Yep. Even though many an otherwise good outfit is torpedoed by choosing a pump over a sandal, this particular choice seems too lightweight–barely there–to balance the top & skirt. A sandal with just a little more presence than 3 skinny straps would’ve done the trick. (This might have nothing to do with your quibble at all!)

I also worry that her feet and ankles are on their way to feeling some pinch.

        • kimmeister

I agree that the sandal is a bit too naked for this look, but my biggest quibble is with the magenta ankle strap, which has nothing to do with anything. The skirt has enough colors in it as it is, no need to introduce yet another one.

          • Lilak

            Too right.

    • Anne At Large

I want this entire outfit, thanks. Did she get a new stylist? This is possibly my favorite look I’ve ever seen her in.

    • Deedles

      POPPIES!

    • Fred Vaughn

      Better than expected.

    • Dan_In_NYC

I don’t know if it’s the glasses or hair on the show, but I somehow prefer the slight edge (stylewise) her character on Modern Family gives her. Still, this is age appropriate and she looks great.

That said, this is first time I’ve looked at pictures of her and can really see the potential she has to transition from beautiful young woman to complete knockout as she continues to mature.

    • Jacquelyn

Really cute and appropriate for the event in question.

    • Lisa M. (ReVoir) Kramp

She looks absolutely lovely. And the shoes make it even better because they’re colorful yet demure.

    • steeg of their own

      Adorable.

    • ankali

What an adorable little person she is! I want her to be my baby sister.

    • ms_kat

HATE the shoes. Or rather, hate the fact that they are a size or half size too small and they make her feet noticeably yucky.

    • Judih1

cute, but I think she is too short waisted for this style skirt

    • Claudia

Beauty! Hope all her familial troubles are behind her.

    • librarygrrl64

I only wish the skirt had red poppies on it.
