It needs something around the shoulders or it just looks like she forgot to put on her shirt

    • NYCGlamourpuss

Yeah, this is way too lingerie. I like it on the model better this time.

  • MilaXX

I don’t like this here while she’s posing, but I thought it looked really pretty on her when I was watching the show. She really does need the warmer lip color. It looks much better than that dead man neutral color she usually wears.

    • formerlyAnon

Thanks for reporting how it looked on camera. I was wondering.

  • Chickadeep

The all-black version on the runway somehow looks less…I dunno, less “oops I forgot to wear a top” than the 2-color version, which basically looks like a corset. Skipping the belt just adds to the halfway-dressed, unfinished vibe.

  • decormaven

Wish there was a shawl or wrap as shown in the original look. With the contrasting bodice, it just looks like a corset & a lace skirt. How much design skill does that take?

    • MoHub

I don’t even read the skirt as a skirt. Looks more like a fancy slip to me.

  • tereliz

Needs a belt. And better jewelry. And a shirt.

    • Sarah

And better shoes. Those are such a letdown.

  • Trisha26

At least when Gaga wears a bra you know it’s a bra. This is a dress that’s made to look like a long-line bra/corset & lace slip. Why? The jacket and black bodice are much more flattering and make the black lace almost sophisticated. Not even mentioning the shoes.

  • Constant Reader

MUCH cuter with the matching cardigan.

    • jen_vasm

I agree. Without the cardi for a talk show sitdown, she seems like she is trying too hard. Great makeup, though.

  • DaringMiss

She looks beautiful, but the dress makes her thick through the middle. Add 1-2 inches in the bodice and the proportions would be more flattering. Given that she swapped out the black bodice, I would have opted for black pointy toed shoes instead of the putty.

Her makeup is just perfect for TV. It would look really natural under the lights.

    • Linda LaPaz

Agree on the bodice. Makes her look short-waisted, too.

    • Jake

Totally agree on the necessary addition of bodice height but otherwise this a WERQ for me!

  • Qitkat

Can we outlaw this pose now? I would fall on my arse, or faceplant.

  • She’ll look really great when she finishes getting dressed.

  • kmk05

Haha, corset = no. It looks like she forgot to dress her top half!

Bitter Uncles, the legend to that first photo is not quite right: you’ve got an Olivia Wilde typo (instead of Olivia Munn).

I wonder what Michael Kors would say about this outfit if it wasn’t his and it came down the runway on Project Runway. Somehow I don’t think it would be that nice.

    • Little_Olive

Not original, in any case. I feel we’ve seen that skirt, and the lace skirt+tight top, time and time again.

  • buttercup

The hair and makeup were HORRIBLE on TV. Horrible. It looked like she was wearing one of those shiny transparent face masks. The dress sucks, too. I don’t understand how she can be so beautiful on screen and then fail so hard during appearances.

  • SM

Did you guys watch the clip with her in it? She was clearly totally uncomfortable in that red lipstick; it looked like she was totally worried about it getting on her teeth.

  • Diego!

The black version of the dress is way ‘killer look’ than this one. She looks great but she should have sticked to the black one. And better shoes. Not those ugly ones.

  • kirkyo

I think she and her cleavage look great!

  • MissusBee

The teensy bodice would look less underwear-like in black but by gum, it sets off her skin. Not sure about the red lip, but it breaks up the beigeness of it all, plus it calls cheekily to the Louboutin sole. Anyway, these seem like quibbles when she looks so stunning. If she’s going for ‘thinking-man’s-glamour-puss’, she’s got it on the nose.

  • Granny panties

It looks like if she raises her arms her boobs will fall out.
I think she’d look great in a Kors pantsuit (I’m picturing Blake’s red one for example).

  • crash1212

Stunning. I like the lighter version better than the black for her. Best her make-up has ever looked. She really rocks that shade of red. This looked good sitting and it fits her like a glove. Best deployment of the dretful “nude” shoe and they’re actually sexy as hell. Two thumbs up from me.

  • Call me Bee

She looks really pretty (whoever she is…) and I love the skirt and shoes, but hate the bustier with a white hot hate. Not flattering to her body (she does not have the tiny waist needed to wear something like that,) the cups are too small and low and it just looks like an undergarment. She needs to go put on a shirt.

    • bellafigura1

Watch The Newsroom on HBO, she’s fantastic on it.

      • I love Sloan so much on that show that I’ve come to resent Olivia Munn for making it even marginally watchable. I would have never thought she’d be so breezily, quirkily charming and an actually talented, subtle actress to boot. If not for her, Don and Elliott I’d have given up, but dammit, I want Sloan to be happy and stop dating jerks, is that so wrong?

        • bellafigura1

I hear ya sista. She’s fast and smart, I totally believe her when she geeks out. I’m developing a major Don crush, and I’m less in love with what’s his name, Jim?

          • Faerie Nuff

From what I’ve seen, she actually is quite geeky in real life. She has done a bunch of geek-related work in the past (like co-hosting Attack of the Show for a few years), not because it’s what she could get, but because it’s what she cares about. She is definitely the best thing about The Newsroom, and Sloan has made me like Don, which I didn’t even think was possible.

  • Cheryl

Are the shoes too big for her? I actually do like them, but they look like they fit odd.

  • NoveltyRocker

Her makeup artist always makes her look like her brows are tatted on. Figuring out the eyebrow situation would really improve her outfits. Arguably more than any combo of accessorizing could do.

    • kimmeister

Agree about the eyebrows. Also, the smudged lower liner (or whatever that is) is simply not right for her.

      • NoveltyRocker

The lower liner kind of just looks like shadows which seems alright for trying to create depth. But the top liner isn’t doing anything to accentuate the shape of her eyes at all and is really harsh next to them brows. Clean, ultra-defining cat-eye or smudgy, smokey eye sans liner. Whoever does her makeup seems to attempt both a lot and it really just fights her natural beauty.

  • Jacquelyn

The outfit looks great, I’m glad she paired the skirt with a different top than the model. But, I wish she had a bigger necklace. Looks a little bear. Eyebrows seem a little funky to anyone else?

  • Tatiana Luján

    Sharpie makeup.

  • Louise Bryan

That looks straight out of the lingerie department, and barefoot, if (anatomic) heels had (ankle-breaker) heels.

  • OrigamiRose

So, she forgot to wear the dress?

  • marlie

Not loving it, plus, it’s been “done” before. A lot.

  • LauraAgain

It’s a beautiful slip. She just forgot the dress!

  • bellafigura1

Stunning, wrong shoes, should have been a strappy black sandal, same heel height.

  • rkdgal

I feel like this is the first time that her makeup queens got it right for her complexion. The red lips are great on her! She’s usually to orange-y and it doesn’t suit her coloring.

  • That.. is not a talk show look. But props to her for not breaking her neck in those ill-fitting shoes. More than I could have done.

  • bertkeeter

    Dolce n Gabbana for TARGET?

  • Magatha

I think she looks beautiful, but it has to be in spite of the bodice. I hate that outliney-seamed corsetty look. It makes her look like she has cupcakes instead of boobs. And that makes me both hungry and ashamed.

  • Carleenml

Hooked on Newsroom. Huge girl crush. She can do no wrong in my eyes now.

  • Liana Brooks

What is wrong with her head? At every angle it looks photoshopped on.

  • cpjones79

It needs bunny ears and a tail and Hugh Hefner would be lurking around the corner.

  • guest2visits

I definitely like her hair longer, like this – it’s so shiny-healthy. The top is jarring in contrast and it’s so low. Skirt is nice, but it looks like she’s missing a pretty blouse to go with it.

  • AmeliaEve

Besides the whole lingerie problem, that delicate lace looks silly with that big heavy zipper on it. It’s not a funky, clever juxtaposition. It just doesn’t go.

    • Donna Tabor

I really wish designers would stop defaulting to that technique. It’s so over, and so ugly.

  • Amy909

She’s on my irrational hate list, along with Olivia Wilde. Either way, this looks way too early to mid aughts for me.

  • Her hair is so shiny. I am so jealous.

  • MoHub

Someone forgot to put her dress on after she donned her half slip and longline bra.

  • steeg of their own

That dress looks painful in the boobs-and-ribs area. The whole bodice is badly fitted, and the way it joins the skirt does no favors for her waist.

  • Garcia Loca

She forgot to put on a dress over her slip.

  • Trickytrisha

Let’s see… shoe fug. Bodice too low for any uplift. More black lace over nude underlay. Yawn. With her coloring and beauty, she could be world class, but not dressing like this.

  • ItsDicey

If I had a face like that I wouldn’t waste on that dress. Or that hair.

  • fuchaforeva

    1. she look like she’s half dressed, like she’s missing a jacket or something- the outfit does not look complete
    2. I’m so sick and tired of this lace trend! Kors needs to move ON! It’s one thing to have (and buy) cheap lace clothes at H&M, for example, but these high end brands need to find new inspirash!

  • librarygrrl64

Hair and makeup are the best they have ever looked.
