Is it a 2-Way Wrist Radio? Certainly get that vibe from the shot with the male model.

      • Domo_Konnichiwa

I’ll only like it if it also shoots lasers.

    • IMNAngryLiberal

I’ve been scrolling through all of the fall ad campaigns, and I’m confused. I thought the purpose of an ad campaign was to make people want to buy the clothes/accessories shown in the ads, miright? The ones I’ve seen so far just make me bored and tired.

      • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

Well, and if the idea is to actually showcase the clothes, most of them fail woefully.

        • MoHub

Exactly. I can’t make out from any of the photos what the garments actually look like.

        • tb

          …um…there are clothes here?

      • Funkykatt

I feel like Michael Kors is tired. I have not seen anything really interesting from him in a long time.

      • Meg0GayGuys6

Yea, and boy oh boy are they relevant to my life. Next time I’m hanging off a helicopter, that would be the perfect coat!

      • tb

Me tozhe!!! And it hit me just now, these campaigns all look like America’s. Next. Top. Model. shoots. Lame.

        • muzan-e

… they really do. Somewhere around the middle of the show’s run, where they’d run out of ideas but hadn’t quite descended into embarassing self-parody. They posed them all on top of a skyscraper, looking vaguely cyberpunk, with the skyline for their backdrop, and ran everything through filters afterwards.

And then a few episodes later posted them against the side of a glassy building because seriously, not much left in the Ideas hat.

        • KikiAvocado

exactly!! I was thinking how pedestrian this looked and ANTM is exactly the comparison!

      • conniemd

Well I did like the purses in this one. They were prominently placed. But basically all the ads thus far seem designed to sell us purses and sunglasses, because the posing doesn’t give a good look at the clothes. It’s like the clothes are there for background to show off the accessories.

        • ringthing

Love the cobalt purse in the last shot.

        • Aurumgirl

There’s a reason for that, I think. Because the size of the average consumer is a size 12 or 14, and no one makes clothes in that size anymore (unless we’re talking about Marina Rinaldi), the accessories are going to be the real money makers in any collection of ready-to-wear. You don’t need a size to buy a purse or sunglasses or jewellery; and shoes are more accessible to the various body shapes that exist in the marketplace but are deliberately left out of its clothing end.

    • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

Oh goody. Even MORE international super spys. (yawning behind hand)

      • NOLA_gal

For reasons that I can’t explain, I read that as “sugar spies” and somehow that made perfect sense to me. Less yawny anyhow.

        • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

Okay, Sugar Spies is my new Tokyo pop band. Their first big hit? “Steal My Candy”

          • zenobar

Yes please – awkward English translation as follows:

            Oh, steal my candy
Your teeth is sweetest for the love!
            My heart is sugar icing
Come on girl, you know it’s the tasty
            Steeeeeeal it come on
            Candy all for you now!

            • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

I’m crushing on you a little right now. I love this!

            • zenobar

*blushes* I’m glad you enjoyed it! :)

            • Glam Dixie

I want to upvote this eleventy times.

            • demidaemon

Where’s the gratuitous yet grammatically incorrect English?

          • NOLA_gal

My current ringtone is “I Want Candy” (Bow Wow Wow, natch). Coincidence? I think not.

            • ballerinawithagun

Thought of that right away, love Bow Wow Wow!

        • Guest

The first thing I thought was, “Of course.”

      • Guest

Agreed. The first thing I thought was, “Of course.”

    • Glam Dixie

I love those sunglasses she’s wearing, although I don’t understand why all of the designers want their fall ads to look like spy movies.

    • http://dontmakeitlikeimdumb.blogspot.com/ annabelle archer

Hair dry and not greasy gross? Check.
      Models looking pretty? Check.
Somewhat high end apparel being presented with a high end lifestyle? Check.

This cranky bitch is much happier.

      • StellaZafella

Yes, I agree…except, look again…the models aren’t merely photoshopped mortal humans, they’re CGI.

        • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_QFW22QV426LUOEPGASPZJWJMDE MishaFoomin

It has to be CGI people. The woman’s shoulder in that first pic… Her knee area in that second pic, both legs… Her right arm in the last pic… No human body does that naturally.

    • marlie

There’s a whole lot of airbrushing going on (of two young, unnaturally beautiful people).

    • SewingSiren

I want someones head to get chopped off by the helicopter blades. Is that wrong?

      • Glam Dixie

Lol, it would definitely up the interest factor! A little arterial spray for color.

        • IMNAngryLiberal

Your comment reminds me of when my high school class won a float competition because ours was the only “colorful” float (beside the school colors). Our main color was a bright red spray of arterial blood from the guillotine we were using to chop off the head of our rival’s mascot.

          • muzan-e

… I’m afraid it’s been far more exciting to read this conversation than to watch the International Spies! conduct Mission Fabulous. *g*

        • zenobar

It’s that little POC that makes all the difference.

      • LaSylphide

Depends on who’s getting his/ her head chopped off.

        • SewingSiren

Oh, pretty much any of them would be satisfying.

    • kimmeister

Well, I see that big honkin’ watches are still being pushed for women. The leather wristband on my watch recently started cracking, and it was so hard to find a 12mm replacement band for it! Most of the replacement bands were huge. It didn’t used to be that way.

      • Morgendorffer

Seriously. And giant watches really don’t work for doing anything. I love my old tiny Bulova watch because I can actually wear it to work and type without it getting in the way.

        • MilaXX

I love a big watch. I buy men’s watches for that very reason. I also don’t wear my watch on the wrist opposite my writing hand.

    • formerlyAnon

Except that it apparently takes place on a helipad atop a parking garage, and the color scheme is perhaps more predominantly grey tone than previous years, this could be from the photo shoot for either of his last couple of years. I swear they’re even using some of the same models as well as the poses.*

*Opinion formed without going back to look at previous campaigns. Because I’m too lazy to care if my vague impression is actually factually correct.

    • rdbtex

Whether it appeals to one or not, it is a perfect expression of the Kors’ Brand. Lux Jetsetters. I do not wish to see ad campaigns that feature spotty-faced, pudgy models walking the dog at 6am, picking up the dry cleaning or taking out the garbage.

    • MilaXX

The female in the first pic; what did they do to her hp? shoulder? Something is out of proportion.

      • muzan-e

Heck, what’d they do to the guy’s face in the second-to-last?
(My secret theory is that he’s actually a cyborg, sent from the future to steal vintage watches. )

    • Kent Roby

That helicopter is GORGEOUS in the close-ups. (I guess that’s not the first reaction that Ms. Kors was hoping for).

    • ChelseaNH

Jet-setters jet-setting? I get that. Sitting in Hell’s waiting room with wet hair? Still don’t get that.

    • clairellis

Love the first coat and bag. Love the great jacket and skirt in the third picture. And the ankle strap shoes. I just really love Michael.

    • Danielle L

Covet the bag in the last picture.

    • Shawn EH

      Auditioning to clothe James Bond?

    • bertkeeter

Looks like it is styled for his Russian customer base…just a tad to slick for my tastes!

    • Erica_Vuitton

After that one episode of ER helicopters just freak me out… It’s too bad Kors can’t switch up his ads once and a while; they are so boring and expected! It’s always a skinny Euro couple on or near a car/jet/yacht.

    • Kamil Milex Roj

      I am saying yesss

    • up with pod people

I do not get it, but in all of the “ad campaign” posts, none of the pictures load for me.

      • Badriya Al-Badi’a

        Same here–using Firefox 16.0.2, Windows 7.

    • guest2visits

I love the blueness of the background, and I like HIS coats and HIS look. But I don’t like her look.
Not the bags, not the monkey hair jacket or the tweed suit (love the fabric, not the design), not the flappy top, not the tacky dress…..nada.
