The only thing to give this outfit life is the bag. The rest is a typical yawn moment.

  • Victor Beiramar Diniz

raided mommie’s closet, did you darling?

  • Sobaika

I am in loooooove with that bag… even if it’s smaller than her shoes.

  • HVM

She never seems to have any sense of style no matter what she wears. How anyone can take her opinion on fashion seriously is beyond me.

  • Love the cheeky bag. The funereal dress needs to go. And Ladymama, can we please ditch the off color hair, finally?

    • WoodnSalt

Her contract says she has to keep the hair purple until 2015, by which time everyone will be sick of it. Love the bag!

      • WHY would she agree to that? WHY would they keep enforcing it?

        • I think, (hope) WoodnSalt is kidding.

          • No, I think I’ve seen on more than one thread that the hair is contractual. Which is the lamest thing I’ve ever heard for someone who isn’t on a thematic story type of show. Could be I’m gullible.

          • NYCGlamourpuss

I think it is contractual. But the lilac hair doesn’t bother me, I think it’s cute. It’s the dress I can live without!

          • formerlyAnon

          • Lord I hope that isn’t true.
I’ve decided, Contractual Hair is my new hillbilly punk band.

          • formerlyAnon

Contractual Hair has a mouth feel far superior to most randomly inspired band names.

          • Snailstsichr

Who would the contract be with?

      • That is JUST absurd enough to be true. LOL

      • yulaffin

I’m sick of it already. That color does nothing for her.

    • StellaZafella

I’m beginning to wonder if it’s not that she actually dyes it this color still but she just keeps leaving the “lavender shampoo” in too long. (This is what happens when I do that.)

      • One would think she would be aware of that, though.

  • marlie

#1, she looks like she’s going to a funeral. #2, it looks like she stole that purse from a 5-year-old.

  • Laurieandclaire

Please, for the love of everything holy, can we stop doing the old lady rinse hair?! I feel like if I saw that head in the car in front of me, I would avoid her for fear she would turn on her left blinker for the next 5 miles!

  • MilaXX

Bag is cute, makeup is great, hair is fine.. Dress is too granny. Unless you are going to a funeral lace dress when you are under 30 look aging.

  • Why is someone so young, so wealthy, and supposedly INTO fashion showing up boring and depressingly understated?

    • StellaZafella

On Dolche models widow’s weeds are high fashion…on Kelly Osbourne it just looks like her friend died…in Baltimore.

      • Lori

This has been my problem all along D&G’s Italian widow obsession. I think this is how the clothes going to turn out and almost everyone who isn’t a model–frumpy and matronly and like they’re for an actual funeral.

  • That bag is adorable.

  • jonnyf8

Positively matronly. Can’t we find something for her to do where we won’t have to see her or her mother any more. Don’t they need to find behind-the-scenes jobs.

  • Jessica Freeman

Absolutely love the bag. She looks to be going straight to a funeral after this red carpet….

  • Chipster

That bag! It looks like it came from Pee Wee’s Playhouse….which is why I love it!

    • FloridaLlamaLover

Exactly what I thought, too. Pee-Wee!

  • NYCGlamourpuss

Nawp! Very “mumsy” for someone so young. The cute and winsome little bag doesn’t make up for how aging this dress is.

  • Fordzo

She is really committed to that hair color, isn’t she?

    • sagecreek

Like SJP and her eyeliner. Sigh.

  • sagecreek

I think she looks okay, but those claws have to go.

  • formerlyAnon

The dress (especially the lace) makes the hair look almost geriatric. (I know people always say that about her hair, whatever she wears, but I never agree. I like the lavender hair, mostly.)

The purse does not redeem the too-staid tone.

    • AmeliaEve

For me it’s the eye makeup that is really aging. She is walking a fine line with the pastel hair here. I actually love the signature color, but it’s starting to look elderly on her when she makes other poor choices.

      I love the purse, though.

      • formerlyAnon

The eye makeup does look very dated, especially in conjunction with the hair.

I acknowledge the intent and general popularity of the bag, but it’s really not to my tastes. For me it reads “juvenile” but not “fun.” Like when you go to another country and all the kids are gaga over character merchandise that you can’t find any appeal in because you don’t know the source entertainment.

  • kmk05

I feel bad saying this, but I really really really loathe her hair. The outfit (apart from the bag) is a little widow-ish, no?

  • procrastinatrice

Is this the day of silly bags? This and the toy Chanel Moretz is carrying around is making me wonder.

  • nannypoo

I hate her hair and her stupid manicure.

  • gurl boy

  • mrspotts66

    i’d like her purse, please?

    • mrspotts66

eh. i changed my mind. cell phone, lip balm and mints would fit…would NOT fit my wallet.
      it’s up for grabs again!

      • Gloriana Reginata

        I’ll take it!!

  • Lesley

she judges people’s outfit choices on fashion police, really??

  • Lisa M. (ReVoir) Kramp

Love. The. Bag. Meh to the rest.

  • Diego!

Is she mourning? Girl… wear some colors like the yellow dress you wore the other day!

  • MartyBellerMask

Oddly boring for Kelly. Boring on ANYONE. But Kelly usually isn’t so… boring.

  • ItsDicey

    The bag is freaking adorable.

  • guest2visits

Ok I had to look up Kelly’s age when I saw this – 28 is maybe too old to dress like a trendster teen. Which is my problem with all Kelly’s accessories lately. Her tattoos and her hair add to this feeling of too much clutter; even in this plain black dress all I can see is all the schmatta. And I’m the only one who hates the bag for anyone over 5.

    • formerlyAnon

I don’t hate the bag. I think it’s stupid. It’s too expensive to be a novelty or a kid’s purse but it looks like a novelty purse but one not to my tastes.

I also know that is a minority opinion and that if the cost of designer oddments factors into one’s opinion, one really shouldn’t be spending time on a celebrity fashion blog.

      • guest2visits

Both. I think it’s a bag too stupid looking for an adult and yes too expensive for a child (except maybe Suri and friends). There are a lot of bags and accessories that are fun, or goofy or arty – and I love them for the quirkyness and the difference. But there is something so overtly childish about this one in design and in it’s size – I just can’t see a grown-up toting it. Not even for fun. It’s like trying too hard, I don’t grates on me. It’s not even twee; it’s just for tiny tots to love.
And hey – why not discuss or sound-off on the cost of any and all things fashion…? I’m sure it is at least as important an aspect of the business in Fashionland as it is in any business in your world and mine.
I will ponder the exorbitant price of a cotton tee by Kors or Armani or etc. vs the really decent ones I can get at a Targets or Macy’s. Sometimes the prices of things are as entertaining as the styles themselves. Not all things with a big price tag are superior either; I’ve bought some designer items in the past that have nearly fallen apart in my hands. Why not think about the cost/ratio for where or how items are made, marketed and distributed.
But of course – I usually forget about all that when admiring the scenery. I’m content to window shop and take in all the pretty things. I don’t think about how much the Dior – I wonder instead if it will trickle down into a similar design in my mall. Usually not.

        • formerlyAnon

Once in a while I let myself think (or wonder) about the financial side of producing and marketing high end fashion, but like many other arenas in which inequity, unthinking entitlement and unconscious hypocrisy are on display, I choose not to think about it because serious thought will either make me sad or angry. And then I will not be able to enjoy the craftsmanship, beauty, wit. creativity and [sometimes] artistry.

          • guest2visits

Oh I don’t disagree – I wish I was that person who thought more of the production end and I may have sounded all judgey or righteous, but that’s because I’m an idiot writer – I just didn’t want you think you didn’t have a right to remark or comment on any item’s extraordinary price tag; I think they are as much a part of the conversation as any other aspect of the industry or the blog.
I’m going to classify myself as one of those who enjoys the fashion; high end or otherwise for everything you mentioned above.

          • formerlyAnon

Your intent came through clearly, no hint of judging. The little purse just triggered me to go on about my some of my own internal debates – just more of what it is now passe to refer to as “First World Problems.” 😉

          • demidaemon

It’s probably mostly borrowed anyways, so chances are no money was spent on this look (excepting the wages of her style team).

  • Imasewsure

Fun shoes would have gone a long way too especially for a non-event like this one. Bag is cute but not enough whimsy overall

  • YoungSally

I’m so confused with so many RCs. Can we just merge this one with the other that seems to have the same people/place/idea and just call it the “Do Something, Young Hollywood – whatever”

  • Anplica Fiore

    LOVE the bag!!

  • conniemd

Skull and crossbone tatoos on her feet, a cross on her nail polish and heart earrings with a peace symbol. Seems like a bit of a mixed message.

  • Monabel

The tacky crosses on fingernails please my post-religious “soul.”

  • Lizzy

Ok… I’m just gonna ask this. What in the skee-doodle are the “do something” awards? I drove my car to work today – I “did something”… I emptied the dishwasher… that was “something”… so… where’s my award???

    • demidaemon

Awards that reward celebrities for their charity and cause work.

  • ThaliaMenninger

I had that exact dress about ten years ago. I decided it wasn’t flattering and it looked cheap and I tossed it.

  • Louise Bryan

Best I’ve seen her look in a long time. The purse is adorable. With the cotton candy hair, she needs balance in the clothing choices, and this is a black dress with just enough of a goth edge to suit her.

  • DCSheehan

Divine. Yep, it’s simple but at least it’s simple pretty, not simple fugly. And her figure looks slammin’

Also, how cute is that bag. Sooooo cute.

  • Anniebet

I adore her. This is another quirky ensemble that makes me smile. Yay for free spirits and purple hair!

  • Phyllis Craine

Her makeup has been perfect lately.

  • quiltrx

That bag is super duper adorable!!
But the dress is kind of boring and doesn’t look very expensive.

  • FancyPhilly

This looks to me like probably the fourth or fifth dress she put on before this event, when she finally said, “F*#k it. I feel so fat today. I’d rather sit on the couch in sweats than be in front of a camera. But I’ll grab the funny purse just to make me feel better.”

  • Snailstsichr

Duh – I never thought of that. Thanks for the answer!

  • andreawey

way to commit to a hair color…..unfortunately, it’s that color……:(

  • oohsparkley!

    Adele’s older sister.

  • demidaemon

I think everyone is overreacting and overcriticizing what is–at the base–a fairly cute and inoffensive look. And can we give up the hair discussion–she wears it, she owns it, it’s usually well-taken care of, styled, and colored. The End.

  • Renaissance_Man_ATL

Those foot tats need to go!
