Katie Holmes on the Set of “Miss Meadows”

Posted on August 27, 2013

Assuming she’s playing the title character – because on-set pics are so much more fun to talk about absent any real facts – then we can safely say that Miss Meadows dresses like a crazy person.

Katie Holmes jumps on the set of her new film ‘Miss Meadows’ in Ohio.

We almost want to see this movie to see what else she wears.

    Well..at least she’s working

    • Heather

True. I found her appealing in “Pieces of April” and “Wonder Boys.” Though this appears to be a train wreck.

  • Ummmmmmm. Nope. Gonna give this production a wide lane of its own.

    • HomeOfficeGirl

Agreed. Whatever is happening here, I probably don’t want to know.

      • Yup. Nothing about this bodes well.

        • jen_vasm

Well, one thing….it’s being filmed in my hometown of Cleveland! There’s been some Katie sightings in a few neighborhood, but no one has been whipped into a frenzy about it.

          • HomeOfficeGirl

            You’re not helping…
            I KID!!! I KID!! 😉

          • lilyvonschtupp

Where? West Side? Shaker? Coventry? It sure as hell ain’t on no East Side.

          • jen_vasm

Right now, Tremont. The crew is holed up in the parking lot behind St Theodosious.

      • NC_Meg

See, I feel like I NEED to know what is happening here.

        • fursa_saida

  • Meg0GayGuys6

Miss Meadows sure loves those shoes.

I kinda love all those crazy facial expressions- Especially the one in the picture where she’s wearing the gloves.

  • Diego!

She looks like a grown up in kids’ clothes! She is clearly on the way to get back into acting more and more consistently, leaving the shadow and control of Tom Cruise behind. Good for her! 😀

  • Meredith_P

Are the ear-buds part of the character’s schtick? Or Ms. Holmes’? 😉

  • Deedles

Miss Meadows raided Zooey Deschanel’s closet, methinks.

  • AC Simons

Suri’s Burn Book is going to have something to say about this, and it won’t be pretty.

    • charlotte

      Great minds!

      • AC Simons

I checked – nothing yet. I know those wheels are turning!

    • How did I forget about Suri’s Burn Book???
So, I just spent time catching up, I love that the only person she ever seems to approve of is Kiernan Shipka. See, even Suri knows!

  • charlotte

    What would Suri say?

  • Monica De Leon

She is totally channeling Suri in Pic # 5!

  • broke&fashionable

She may look slightly cray, and possibly she is in character, but that sixth photo down shows her looking as happy and goofy as she has been in years. <3 you Ms. Josephine Potter.

  • JDreesen

maybe the *shoes* are the main character. Miss Meadows must be the brand name. or the name of the tap routine that made them famous.

    • charlotte

      Maybe Meadow Soprano invented them?

      • JDreesen

based on the synopsis Rand just dished out, it wouldn’t surprise me in the least if that were the case!

    • Lanus

I bet the shoes aren’t even “in the picture,” they are just comfy for her and the right height for the camera angle blocking they did in rehearsal.

      • JDreesen

?? tap shoes = comfortable on-set footwear? now i’ve seen everything! *poof* [disappears behind a tiny, low-budget cloud of distraction smoke]

        • Lanus

What actress doesn’t have a set of character shoes laying around?

      • fursa_saida

That doesn’t explain the socks, my friend, and it’s the socks that are the true abomination.

  • KateShouldBeWorking

    A) Miss Meadows believes she is six.
    B) Miss Meadows IS six. With a growth disorder.

    • Introspective

      C) Miss Meadows has the kind of crazy that requires medical help.
      D) all of the above.

      My answer: D

  • sagecreek

Wow, I’m intrigued to see the storyline that supports those costumes.

Still? Less crazy than being married to Tom.

  • conniemd

My storyline is it’s a biopic of a cute little girl in a flowered dress who is a paranoid schizophrenic, who marries a control freak husband who puts her in a mental ward and the first outfit is what she was wearing when she managed to escape, stealing any clothes she could find to throw on instead of wearing her hospital gown out.

    • Sheneve Butler

Change “cute little girl” to grown woman with Schizophrenia, and that sounds like the movie.

    • demidaemon

You mean this is a biopic about Katie Holmes herself?

  • Rand Ortega

The premise of the movie is cute in a John Waters “Serial Mom” sort of way– Perfect, demure schoolmarm goes into school whose neighborhood is rife w/ molestors determined to kill them all. But there’s a glitch– she falls in love w/ the Sheriff out to find the killer. Though, given the filmmakers (who made “Because I Said So”, “Stepmom”), I doubt if they have Waters edge & gift of satire. Still, the clothes fit the character description so it does work on that level.

    • JDreesen

shit. it’s written by the same gal who did Welcome Home, Roxy Carmichael?!?! now i am COMPLETELY torn. don’t want to love it. must…see…anyway…to…compare…[drags self to as-yet-undetermined theater location in 2014 to witness what has become of the mind that created *the* Dinky Bossetti]

      “it’s good to want things.”

      • Rand Ortega

        Ha! I feel your pain.

    • demidaemon

Compared to what everyone else has come up with so far from the pics, this sounds sort of lame. And really creepy, but not in a good way.

      • Rand Ortega

I dunno. It really depends on the execution. The idea of “Charlotte York goes postal” intrigues me.

  • NOLA_gal

Not a lot of info out there, but just to stoke speculation, I will report that it’s an indie film, whose official title started out as “Tootaloo”. I’ll add that it’s described as “Pulp Fiction meets Mary Poppins.” Go!

  • kimmeister

Her posture in the first picture in the white and pink dress – how is she not falling over?

  • Jacqueline Wessel

She looks so cute it’s easy to over look the crazy. White socks with MaryJanes…now that takes me back, like 50 years back.

  • Glam Dixie

    Ow, fuck, my eyes!

  • Katie looks really cute and happy… the clothes are kooky, though.

  • The only thing I can think is that it’s about a little girl playing dress-up and she imagines herself as Katie Holmes.

  • Jessica O’Connell

I think I have those shoes from when I was in Annie in 9th grade…

  • Cloveradams

If someone had Photoshopped Chloe Sevigny’s head onto this photo set, no one would have given it a second thought.

  • MilaXX

This has all the earmarks of one of those horrible Lifetime or Hallmark channel movies.

  • filmcricket

I actually super-dig the shoes and the skirt in the first shots. I have a thing for black Mary Janes. I do NOT wear them with bobby socks, though.

The rest of the outfits are cray.

    • ThaliaMenninger

I do like Mary Janes with little white socks (especially ones with lace around the edge) but I also have very small feet. This looks weird to me in Katie Holmes’ size, which appears to be maybe a ten or eleven? But I don’t claim that my own small ones are really appropriate for my age or anything. I just like them. And I may only be reacting to Katie’s look as “Whoa! Her feet are huge!” because I’m used to seeing those shoes and socks on smaller feet.

  • Kate Andrews

    Wow. I’ll bet she’s quirky.

  • elemspbee

I feel the opposite: I’ve seen enough.

Oh, yes, first outfit–looks much better tucked in.

  • ballerinawithagun

This how Prada looks when normal people try to wear it.

    • GorgeousThings

I’ve always thought that Prada looks like something a modern-day Miss Havisham would wear.

  • Not applicable

she has a very unique shape- doesn’t she. She is pin thin in the middle but her legs are on the bigger side. Don’t hate! just an observation- b/c she is realllly skinny-

  • Heather

Ew. Is this one of those ‘quirky’ independent films that actually grates like fingernails on a chalkboard?

    I suspect so.

  • marlie

Is it weird that I think the white dress with the pink/red flowers is actually really pretty? Same with the skirt in the first set of pictures (by itself, of course).

    • Billie_Dawn

The flowered dress is a bit too twee for my tastes, but I really love that first skirt.

  • ThaliaMenninger

I hope it doesn’t spoil the fun if I found some info on the movie. It appears she is a teacher who moves to a new town and school every year so as to find and shoot predators with the tiny gun tucked inside her pretty little purse. It’s billed as a dark comedy. And, yes, that sounds like she is supposed to be a little off-kilter mentally, and her wardrobe certainly fits that “odd and perhaps dangerous on the inside while groomed like a harmless Miss Sweetie Pie on the outside.” Oh, and in the movie she falls in love with the sheriff in her new town. Conflict! So I wonder if she is marrying the sheriff while repressing her vigilante urges, or marrying someone on her predator list so as to more easily murder him. The wardrobe fits, either way.

  • amber.

I would never purposely see a Katie Holmes movie. I’m definitely never going to see it if we keep going with these socks here.

  • crash1212

Fifth picture down – LOVE. I keep going back to “Pieces of April” – good movie and she was good in it. Girl has some talent people.

  • tb

I especially like the salute to the First Holy Communion pic!

  • frannyprof

Suri Cruise is Miss Meadows’s muse. Hey, that rhymes!

  • Elizabeth Flowers

If that wedding dress had one more flounce on the bottom, it would be my ideal wedding dress. I love it!

  • Laurie Landry

    Ugliest get-ups and shoes ever.

  • Jessica Smith

At one point this movie was (or possibly still is) called “Tootaloo.” Do with that what you will.

  • demidaemon

She’s a crazy person who still thinks she’s five years old. See outfit #2 and the Alice in Wonderland shoes and socks that somehow make repeat appearances.

  • GenieinTX

I love the Mary Janes and socks. Sigh, I wish I wasn’t 40 so I could pull off that look

  • I feel like this is a movie about a nursery rhyme come to life. HEY remember that movie?

  • Cynica

Miss Meadows? Looks more like Miss Havisham.

  • That’s funny, because my reaction is to hope I never see anything like this again.

  • quiltrx

Is she playing a teenager? Some infantile creepiness going on in a couple of these looks.
I’d rather see them dress her in a giant paper bag and watch her try to act her way out of it.
(okay, she was good in Go, but dreadful in everything else I’ve seen.)

    • sagecreek

I liked Pieces of April very much.

      • newtonGOTbeaned

I think she’s a kindergartener in a woman’s body, a la Big. She thinks the whole thing is a great game of make-believe until her new husband tries to show her what grown-ups do on their wedding night.

  • Louise Bryan

Updated and less agoraphobic Miss Havisham?

  • andreawey

I do kinda like the mary-janes and bobby socks with the wedding dress….

  • What the Quantum Leap fuck is this shit? When she looks in the mirror, she’s a seven-year-old, right?

  • amanda lynn

the image of her in the wedding dress on her phone is funny.
